The burrito was still warm even though I was 30 minutes late from the order is ready text. I added pickled jalapeños into my burrito and it made the heavy ingredients of the carne asada, tater tots, and eggs balanced out. Pro tip: If you want a steak burrito, order the bacon burrito instead and sub the bacon with steak. It's cheaper than ordering the Steak Burrito itself. I do wish the price was cheaper. The coffee is bad and super bad serving size. For a $7 coffee, I'd expect atleast double its size and probably better. Do not get the vanilla bean coffee. Been to both Wake and Late locations but I prefer thus one a lot more. It has a good amount of seating and a restroom available. The service is always quick which is great. Ive been wanting to try their breakfast burritos and was so excited to see they opened a new location in pasadena. They had a grand opening promotion for a free burrito and drink and i couldnt pass this up! I got a vegetarian burrito and it was sooo delicious. The tortilla was nicely seared, the potatoes were crunchy, the eggs soft and fluffy. I love the jalapenos in it for some spice and texture. It came with a spicy chipotle mayo sauce that made everything perfect. I know theyre a breakfast burrito place but their matcha latte was sooooo good. Better than some coffee shops. I highly recommend their getting it with their vanilla syrup. The staff was so friendly and upbeat. Theres ample street parking. Before I start, 5/5 stars for customer service. Bruno did an amazing job and so kind and courteous the whole time. I arrived to Wake and Late around 10:30 am and there was a busy morning rush. I placed an order at the front (girl in front was kind enough to explain the menu to me) and waited at the waiting area. I was catching up with a friend, but I didn't realize an hour passed by. Bruno realized this and made an announcement that the dine-in orders didn't go through. He called the names and told us to come talk to him. Bruno was extremely apologetic, comped our entire meal, and went above and beyond to give me a $25 gift card for the next time I come. Best customer service I ever received. *** ONE AND DONE *** Where do i begin... Let me preface this by saying that breakfast burritos are one of my favorite things to eat. I have not looked up why Wake and Late is popular. No idea why but it definitely is just okay. The reviews that say it is the best ever are FAKE. If you know how to filter Yelp reviews, you'd know that if it is the ONLY review, it was made up by someone affiliated with them especially if the account was opened within the last six months. The steak burrito is $17.50. With tax, that's $20. It is 6 inches long and 2.25 inches in diameter. Yes, I did measure it with a ruler. For burrito composition, I believe that you should be able to taste all the ingredients in one bite. This is NOT the case. I was eating my burrito in a circular fashion. Avocado/potato, then steak, etc. Ingredients are fine. Burrito leaves me with that heavy feeling. Maybe it is lard...I don't know. The bacon burrito does not have bacon slices. Instead they use bacon bits. *face palm* If I'm paying that much money, it should have thick slices of Applewood bacon. The red hot sauce is fine but the orange one tastes like thousand island but not. If it is not good, just offer the red hot sauce. Usually I would rate this a 3 but the high price for the size/taste/value means that I need to know it down further. One and done means that I will only consume it if it is catered at an event. Underwhelming. It is like Lucky Boys with that heavy feeling. But I'd rather go to Lucky Boys. I don't see Wake and Late as a business that will last long in Pasadena. Maybe people will go because they think it is trendy but they might not return. read more

Wake and Late, where do I start? The first thing that comes to mind is that I've never been disappointed with anything I've eaten here. Even their coffee is strong and done right. Do I wish the burritos were bigger, yes. That being said, I do believe you are paying for the good quality of everything they serve. You can taste and see the effort that goes into anything they prepare for you and it's made this place my occasional little food treat to myself. I've mostly eaten their burritos (with the still-crispy tots inside with a side of cilantro crema--so good), but I also have to shout out their bagels. They're freshly made, served steaming hot and are fluffy on the inside. My favorite is the parm one, but the sweet onion one with sweet butter is also great. I learned recently that they expanded their menu and I tried the chicken club salad sandwich today. It's bright, creamy and tart served on fresh focaccia bread. My first thought was that this would be great to take on a picnic now that the weather is warmer. Everyone is so nice and helpful here too. Try it out if you haven't. If we want local small businesses to stay, we should support them when we can. I will definitely be back :)! read more

Review from a delivery perspective. Ordered a steak burrito, two bagels with cream cheese sides, and an iced latte. The burrito was very good and tasted fresh. The chocolate bagel was amazing and warm upon delivery. Not sure if it was fresh out of the bakery or if they heat it up? The bagel is a little different from the usual bagel imo. The outside is crunchy and the inside is bready, not on the chewier side like a typical bagel. I'm not a bagel connoisseur so maybe this is nyc style? Anyway it's great but not what I'm used to for a bagel. Now the weird part is that they don't offer hot espresso drink options. A hot latte would be amazing with the burrito and bagel. Such a strange choice. And the iced latte they did offer was not the best. Not sure if it comes premade from a batch since I ordered it thru delivery and wasn't there to see a barista make it. Now is the burrito worth 18 bucks? To come regularly I'd say no, but for a treat definitely. It may look small but it really is filling and satisfying. There was some miscommunication from the staff/trainee and the manager Bruce's ability to reach out and resolve the issue immediately really impressed me. I know some peeps like a breakfast burrito the size of their face, so I respect if this doesn't do it for you Cons: 1) $19 for a bacon burrito that's not the size of your face is...wild. $6 for a matcha is standard, but $27 for both is pretty crazy 2) The actual restaurant experience feels like a missed opportunity. It's located in a large old building, 40ft ceilings, with bare bones furniture, no design, no personality. The order counter should be 20 feet further inside. It's smushed basically right in front of the door, making it feel like a window bodega inside an amphitheater.
