I am giving them 3 stars as I hope the owners will see this and maybe bring back some items. I used to go here with my friends every weekend during my pregnancy. Towards the end of my pregnancy the Hanalei hill had a bad landslide and the road was closed for awhile. Once it was partially open I didn't bother to go to Hanalei because I didn't want to deal with the time schedules or traffic. So I finally went once the road was completely open. I was so excited to go. I had been telling my husband about it forever. However when I got there I was so sad to see the menu had changed. The breakfast panini was no longer on the menu. I saw the breakfast burrito changed too. Was bummed because I was feeling chorizo. But I gave the kalua pig burrito a try. I also got the churro French toast. Now the service is still impeccable and the girls are great and helpful. However the food flavors were not there. They no longer grill the burrito so it's toasted and it lacked flavor. I really miss having the chorizo (the original breakfast burrito). I also miss the breakfast panini. And as for the churro French toast. It was overly sweet. The both of us could only take two bites because it was way too sweet. Sadly we threw the rest away , and we hate wasting food. I miss when they would have French toast special of the day. They had some really great ones in the past that I enjoyed and weren't overly sweet. Hopefully they will bring back some of the old menu and cook them like they used to. I'll wait for awhile and hear from friends if anything has changed and if it has then I will go back and give them another try. Because I really did love going here. read more

We tried the churro French toast, veggie burrito, Kailua pork burrito, coconut shrimp, cappuccino, cold brew and fuzzy nut (cold brew with chocolate, macadamia nut and coconut milk). This place should just stop serving coffee and take it out of their name (I'm pretty sure all their coffee drinks are only made with extremely weak cold brew). The coffee tasted like ice water with a tiny bit of chunky macadamia syrup. The one thing that was good was the French toast and the breakfast burrito was only ok. It's missing some sort of salsa. It was just kinda bland. We really wanted to like this place. With a few tweaks I believe this place could be much better. This is a great spot for both breakfast and coffee. Food is delicious and healthy options are available on the menu. Tomatoes taste like ripe tomatoes and this as I've learned is already a factor to judge if the place is doing a good job. We also tried breakfast burrito with pork and came back on another day for hot cappuccino with macadamia milk. Another thing that's great about this place is that they are actually open the hours listed online, because many places on the island don't. This cafe doesn't offer a sit down indoor area but has a couple tables outside or as recommended you can take your food to go and enjoy it at the beach that is just 2 mins drive away. Trucking delicious!!! We made it just in time for lunch today. This place is a must while in or passing through Hanalei. We had both garlic and coconut shrimp plates with rice macaroni salad seaweed salad and kimchi. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were big. Looking forward to returning! I am a sweet coffee person, I don't like it being bitter. I got a caramel cold brew and asked for extra sweet. They said it was already really sweet so I took their word but I was wrong. My mom and sister loved their coffee though they got some kind of chocolate coffee drink. Not the biggest fan but their stickers are funny! read more

The breakfast is tasty! My husband and I both got the Basic B breakfast plate. I got tots he got toast. I would say 8/10 nothing amazing, but definitely quality and flavorful! My husband got the local coconut water they sell in big jars and he says it is 9/10! I ordered the caramel dream coffee and was not happy. I am more of a sweet coffee with milk type of person and this just wasn't that! I have a hard time getting coffee anywhere and so I don't hold it against this place. BUT they did not have a coffee "fixing" station, you know, where they have milks and sugar and stuff to fix the coffee to your liking. I came here twice on my trip to Kauai. The garlic shrimp was one of the best things I ate all week. The Kailua pork was also exceptional. The cold brew with coconut cream and macadamia syrup (forgot what it was called) was sooooo delicious. Definitely recommend coming here. read more

Tried their Ry-Boo bagel sandwich for breakfast and it was DELICIOUS. I was craving it the next day. My fiancé also got the Kalua burrito and it was so flavorful. The hash browns in the burrito was so crispy it made the burrito taste so good. We finished everything! read more

Worst service I have ever experienced. We Ordered and paid for 2 burritos but only received one. When I asked if they could just make one now the response was no that I would have to wait the same amount of time as the first one. With an unauthentic apology and an annoyed dismissal I decided to speak to the owners mother. Wow! She was sooooooooo rude. She cut me off mid story handed me money and told me she didn't have time and that I was rude and to get out of her store! I then asked her if she would like to get her response on video. She and the other Asian woman literally stood there telling me to leave and bye bye over and over! The rudest family run restaurant I have ever been to. Just some advice... simply saying "oh my gosh I am so sorry... let me have the kitchen work on another one right away for you... here is a free drink for the inconvenice." Ordered a 16oz mocha and a 20oz iced toasted coconut latte. The latte was delicious but when they handed us the mocha she mentioned it only had one shot which 16oz usually has two and she said" I spoon tasted it and it tasted fine", really just it tasted like chocolate milk. This was 3.5 stars. The food was super tasty and the portions were huge, but it's pricey for a breakfast place. We had the pork burrito--it could easily feed two big eaters. The flavor was great, but it needed more sauce. Also had the bagel--good enough but not memorable, and needed a side. Finally, we ordered the churro french toast--suuuper sweet and the serving was huge. Juice was yummy but seemed watered down. The restaurant is tiny, so you may have to take it to go. The only real downside was the grumpy service. The cashier was impatient, but the lady in back was downright rude. read more

Our daughter found this yummy food to go place when they only had a food truck . So great to see a small business be so successful that they have a popular Hanalei storefront ! Last year it was hard to get to , due to landslide closing a lane between Princeville & Hanalei . We persevered & went to Wake up Delicious with our daughter & her husband anyway . They'd raved about the food & they were right ! The landslide is all fixed now , so more times to go to this yummy cafe . Yay ! Now they have a separate window if you just want coffee too . Today I had the iced coconut dirty chai . Yummy ! Breakfast is fantastic ! Unique & tasty ! Nice sincere & hardworking employees too . Churro French toast split between my husband & I today as well as Korean chicken katsu , which a friend said was better than his mom's , & she's Korean & a great cook! Both were so tasty ! Next time we'll try the coconut shrimp , our daughters favorite ! And I'll try another coffee drink as several on their menu sound great ! Lots of tables outside to take your food or go to the bay or ocean . FYI : They call your name when it's ready . Plus , I often buy unique gifts here too. Hanalei's best kept secret! A clean take-out place tucked in the corner of a strip mall. Their limited menu was stellar, and their coffee was the best I've tasted on Kauai, quality above the so-call gourmet coffees. My husband & I shared the Kalua Burrito because it was that generous. read more
