If you're looking for a brunch spot with huge portions and incredible food, this is it! The French toast was hands down some of the best we've ever had. We ordered a half order, and it was so massive that four people could easily share it. I'm so glad we didn't order the full! We also got the breakfast burrito, and it was another giant portion that was enough for all four of us to enjoy. Everything we ordered was delicious. The real chef's kiss, though, was the homemade pineapple hot sauce. It was unbelievably flavorful with the perfect balance of sweet and heat. I'm actually disappointed I didn't try the verde and extra hot versions too! To top it all off, the service was incredibly fast, especially considering how busy they were. Great food, generous portions, and excellent service--this place is an easy 10/10 and definitely worth a visit.
One of the best pulled pork burritos I have tried! It was most and flavorful. It had pork, eggs, tater tots , cheese, and grilled onions. I also enjoyed the garlic shrimp. The Mac salad had too much mayo for my liking. The churro French toast was tasty. It was crispy on the outside and soft/bread-like on the inside. The cream that it came with seemed like whipped cream. The chicken katsu was just ok. I should have asked for sauce on the side. There was no line to order, but it took about 30 minutes to get our food. There is a parking lot, but it's busy... even on this rainy day! I wish we had found this place sooner!
Stopped by Wake Up Delicious during our Kauaʻi getaway, and it completely lives up to its name! I decided to try the Churro French Toast, and oh my goodness, it was incredible! It has that perfect crisp on the outside coated in cinnamon sugar, just like a real churro, while staying soft and fluffy on the inside. The servings here are huge! I ordered a half order, which came with 2 thick pieces, and it was honestly more than enough to share between myself and my husband. If you're on the North Shore, don't skip out on this spot!
Came to Kauai on a day trip mainly to try out their breakfast food. PROS Portions are enormous, so I feel like the price tag isn't too bad. Definitely consider sharing their entrees with another person. We ordered the Churro French Toast and Breakfast Burrito and they were both delicious, but way too big of a portion for one person. Neither of us could finish our food. CONS Barely any seating area inside. There are a few outdoor tables to sit at in the parking lot, but they fill up pretty quickly. We found more success going across the street inside Ching Young Village (the shopping center nearby). This place gets busy, so be prepared to wait. Parking is limited in the actual building and most of them were on a bit of an incline, but Ching Young Village also had several open stalls. While it was delicious, I wish the Churro French Toast tasted more like french toast and less like malasadas. We got the full portion and it was basically like eating 4 malasadas and two scoops of whipped cream cheese frosting. A little too indulgent for a breakfast for our tastes. TIPS Arrive early. We got here at 8:30am on a Saturday and still had to wait over half an hour for our food. Order from the mobile kiosk since it's a shorter line and plan to share with others in your party. Parking and indoor seating is limited, so I recommend ordering your food and then driving across the street to Ching Young Village to eat in one of their outdoor tables.
During my short 3 day Kauai staycation, I really was excited for our adventures and must add this business to my list. We really did "Wake Up Delicious" here, wake up eating delicious foods! hehe. As I did an Instagram search Wake Up Delicious, had many reels and of course I must add this to my list to try for our day's adventures. Although the breakfast item looked great I had two items on my mind to try, the shrimp and the famous churro french toast. Very fun spot to visit, this brick and mortar is no longer a food truck but they have a spot now, I loved the vibe! Limited seats for dine in and parking, but patience should do it. Why Fun?- while waiting for my order, I was looking at all the trinket items for sale, the stickers, magnets and cards was fun to look at and made me just crack up, too funny! I got the garlic shrimp plate ( $22.50) comes with rice and choice of sides and the churro french toast, available in 2 or 4. I went with the 2 for $14. * Place your order at the front and wait for your beeper for your food, there's self serve utensils, condiments and water jug available. The verdict: Wow, omg- The butter garlic shrimp comes with 6 huge pieces of shrimp with heads on, super tasty, fresh. It was work with the head on but yum, super tasty! I wish I had some bread to soak up that sauce! The mac salad was tasty but the kim chee was on the fermented side which I don't like. The grand fnale, the famous churro french toast was super good, I would say it was more like a huge malasada, tasted like malasada, loved the crispy edges and the sauce that came with it. Staff were super friendly and wait for food wasn't too long. All in all- Wake Up Delicious gets my 5 stars & look forward to coming back here on our next visit to the Garden Isle. Not a hype!
Serious amazing food! We went to wake up delicious to try their chicken katsu and the last order was sold out to the person in line right before us. We were bummed but decided to come back earlier the next day . We came back at 11:00 am the next day and they were still sold out, we were bummed but instead ordered garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp, and a Kahlua pork burrito. Everything was truly delicious. The coconut shrimp was crispy and the sauce was flavorful, the burrito was huge and packed with filling, and the garlic shrimp was out of this world. The only thing I would say is that I wish the garlic shrimp didn't come with heads on. It does present well but it's a messy pain in the butt to twist them off and then still have to pull the shells off the shrimp. The sauce is phenomenal , dip your rice in it!
The restaurant has quite a bit of seating but was still a full house when we went. I tried the garlic shrimp. It ws sooo good. Very generous portion of sauce and goes so good with the rice.
Worth all of the hype - nothing on their menu will disappoint. I don't anticipate ever being able to top that churro French toast in my lifetime for breakfast, it is incredible if you've got a sweet tooth. Indoor seating is limited but their counter service is quick so you can grab and go to a nearby picnic table if there are no seats inside.

This place is so yummy we came back the next morning for more!! I can't believe this was my third time on the island and I'm just now finding this place! It's AMAZING!!! The French toast is out of this world. It's a donut-like bread friend and covered in crunchy cinnamon sugar deliciousness, then topped with fresh caramel whipped cream. Have I died and gone to diabetes heaven??? It's a must-try when on the island.
Wake up delicious! This place was so good It is make to order so be prepared to wait this place gets packed quick best time to go is 7am after that it gets crowded quick ! I have the churro french toast and it was bomb and the burritos are so good you can probably share every with another person because i feel it was big portions. I came to this place 2 times both times it was delicious!
We were soooo hungry after hiking and stumbled upon Wake Up Delicious and thank goodness we did! The food here is excellence with friendly service and pretty views/people watching from the deck. It's a great place to grab food and take to the beach too. I will definitely visit again, Mahalo!
It was so good the first time I had to go back before my trip ended. Super good food and nice staff. There are very few seats for eating but it is a cute restaurant with stickers, hats and other souvenirs This is a must try.

Food was nice and fresh. But in some ways too extreme (the churros French toast was just deep fried donut and didn't have any of the bread-pudding texture French toast is supposed to have) or kind of bland (kalua pork was very bland while the macaroni salad was way over salted). I would recommend it. Esp early in the mornings when it is quiet. Staff incredibly kind and the atmosphere was fun. read more

The food here was fabulous! I was a little lost since they changed the name to Wake Up Delicious. We came around 11ish & got to order right away. There was limited seating in the front (2 tables) but they opened up after a short wait. As for the food - bomb. I ordered the coconut shrimp plate. It was delicious with a little kick to it, but so much food that I couldn't eat it all (never a bad thing). I think I at least had 8 shrimp, & a side of rice & kimchi. My husband had the kaloa burrito - huge burrito & he enjoyed it (even the chipotle mayo sauce inside). Definitely recommend this place. We may come back for breakfast soon!! read more

Wow! The food here was one of the top meals we had in the islands! The Kauai whole garlic shrimp were amazing. So much flavor, I would have eaten here again if I could. I could have drank the sauce, but I ended up mixing it with the rice to soak up all the goodness. Mac salad was good too. It is very messy and you will need lots of napkins. The kalua pork burrito was also great - HUGE and lots of flavor. It had pulled pork, eggs, cheese, onions and tater tots inside. The shop was pretty cute with lots of unique things you can buy. Due to covid they called you inside when they were ready to place an order, but standing outside there wasn't a clear line, you kind of had to hover around the door. Once you ordered you could either stand or sit down outside at one of the few tables available. We came for breakfast after driving from Kapa'a, and they do actually serve the shrimp for breakfast which was the main reason I came. Staff was friendly, food took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. read more

Trucking Delicious provides hearty delicious dishes with Hawaiian spin that is worth checking out on the North Shore of Hawaii. You may see the "Truck" in the title expecting to find a food truck only to find yourself in a small plaza looking at a place with "Wake Up Cafe." Apparently, the food truck had become successful enough to transition into a brick and mortar cafe! After tasting the food, I could see why. The menu does change so they may not reflect what is available. The coconut shrimp plate is probably one of the best shrimp plates that I have had in Hawaii. I have tried several different shrimp plates all over Hawaii and I can honestly say that they were good but nothing special. What makes the one from Trucking Delicious great is the crispiness of the fry mixed with the sweet chili oil. An added plus was that the shrimp came deshelled! Paired with the creamy coleslaw, you get to enjoy that perfect balance. The kalua pork burrito was also great! It had the makings of things you would expect from a breakfast burrito including eggs and potatoes, but nestled in with them was thick pieces of kalua pork and a creamy aioli sauce that provided that extra little Hawaiian spin that made it so comforting and great. Service was quick and friendly. Parking, as mentioned earlier, is limited to a small plaza area that was open when we went, but could easily get full. Street parking is also available within walking distance. Overall, Trucking Delicious may not be a truck, but is definitely delicious! :D read more
Um food coma alert! Hangover breakfast alert! Food after surfing alert! This is place is $$$$ and I don't mean expensive. Great food, amazing portions and super friendly staff. Loved the Coconut shrimp, the batter was not too heavy but also not too flaky. Comes with a side of rice and the option of macaroni salad or regular salad. Now the French toast was just gluttony. Sweet and not too rich. A half order and the coconut shrimp easily fed the two of us. This place is the perfect brunch!!! read more
Took a drive to the North end of Kauai to try and extremely well worth it! It is now a walk up window - Wake Up Cafe. Had the garlic shrimp, Kailua pork and churro French toast. Oh hell, the shrimp was amazing AWESOME. Yup that good. Rich garlicky with succulent large shrimp. Served with rice and a side. We chose the seaweed salad for this one. Great flavor with more bite than most. Very good. The Kalua pork was tasty and moist with a hint of smokiness. One of the better ones I've had. Also served with rice and a side. Lastly the French toast. Not your normal bread but a light fluffy with crunchy outside with whipped cream and sauce. Was hard to get some from my daughter. read more
First, the truck doesn't exist anymore and that confused us. Trucking delicious is now Wake Up Delicious. Same people, but they have a brick and mortar spot now. Second, they have the absolute best garlic shrimp plate I've ever had. The fried coconut shrimp was drool worthy too! I like that I could get some seaweed salad with it, the rice was not dry, and the shrimp were huge! They were drenched in a garlicky, buttery goodness that can't be truly appreciated in words. Just a tip though, don't wear white if you're going to order this because you certainly will need to rolls your sleeves up to peel the shrimp back and the red sauce isn't forgiving. They also sell some fresh juices that is worth a try. If you're in the area, don't miss out. Just order the shrimp! read more

I did my research as I was craving good seafood for lunch and drove down from Princeville. The garlic shrimp plate was superb! Like the other reviews say, it's so delicious. It was made to order and was served hot and fresh. Wow, it was better than I expected... buttery, garlicky goodness and the flavor was on point!! Not too spicy either. I love that it was head-on because I like sucking the heads lol. It came with plenty of sauce where I scooped the rice into it. The spot is pretty small but I was able to get a seat (maybe 5 tables?). The couple next to me were eating huge breakfast burritos that looked amazing too. I'm definitely coming back to try those, and of course, get the shrimp plate again. Too bad I found them on the last day of my trip. read more

With the menu changing every day, don't come expecting to be able to get what you see on Yelp. So when Yelpers (or your friends) tell you to go to Trucking delicious, you may not be able to get what they got. But you'll get something trucking delicious. Tbh, I was a bit bummed that there was only one thing on the menu for the day that piqued my interest. There was no shrimp of any kind on the menu, no fish, and I had just had Kālua pork from elsewhere. The wait was a bit on the long side but when I took my first bite of the piping hot "fried to perfection" thighs, I forgot about being bummed and dug in enthusiastically. The breading is light and crispy but not greasy. The meat has so much flavor, you don't need the shoyu sauce below. We got a side of kimchi since they were out of slaw, and it added a nice kick to the whole plate. The plate is so loaded with chicken that we stuffed ourselves silly and rolled outta there. read more

If you do not get the Churro French Toast, you will be denying yourself an incredible palate pleasure. I would truly fly all the way back to Kauai just to have the Churro French Toast. It's that good! And, I don't even like churros and I still loved this! The only problem is regular french toast is forever ruined for me now. I mean how can I possibly go back to plain french toast after this experience?! Note that the portions are huge. My pic is the HALF portion! But, really, it's so dang good - get the full size portion! read more

First ate here when it was a food truck, went back on our next visit and again this time. DELICIOUS! I only wish they had a gluten free bread option as I couldn't get the churro french toast everybody else was eating. The garlic butter head on shrimp with seaweed salad was delicious, just not very breakfasty :). Love the additional outdoor seating they've added. Expect food to take 15-20 minutes because they're making it fresh to order. read more

Came here for some coffee and food in the morning. And when we ordered we got one of the biggest attitudes I've experienced on the island. Coffee is good but can definitely use some help in the service department. Hate to stir this but man someone needs to hear it. read more

The food is stellar. I ordered The Veg. Their fried taro patty and basil aioli was the perfect combination on ciabatta. Hubby also really enjoyed his kalua pork plate. Quirky decorations that are quite endearing. The staff weren't particularly friendly and there's a bit of a wait, but the food was worth it. read more
If I could eat Churro French toast everyday, I would. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I couldn't eat it all (huge portion!) even though I really wanted to!! My spouse got the chicken and waffles which was pretty good too, and the sweet chili sauce it was served with was a yummy surprise. I thought it went well with the meal. The coffee bar is right next door so you can order your coffee and pick it up at the outside window. The place is small but just follow the directions and you'll find it easily! One of the best places to eat in Hanalei! Customer service is good.. Their Garlic Shrimp did not disappoint. The Kalua Burrito was huge and really delicious! And youre eating in front of that beautiful view.. no wonder its called Wake Up Delicious! Would def come back. Other restos on the same street was average but this place has really good food! Wanted to come back the following day but they're closed on Saturdays so take note of that if you're planning to put this on your food list! read more

Its called "wake up delicious" now? Loved their interior, awesome view of the mountain, and so many cute items being sold. I got the garlic shrimp and the chicken katsu plate. Garlic shrimp was bomb! Chicken katsu was a bit disappointing because it was a bit too salty, drenched in the teriyaki sauce. I got a side of kimchi and it was perfectly fermented and as a Korean I was happy about it as I was missing it for some time visiting Kauai. read more

Food was average for similar price point in the area. Highly recommend going elsewhere since this business uses AI generated art for their logos, going against the whole vibe of "support local business". If you can manage to charge $6 for a cookie and $16 for a breakfast sandwich then you should figure out how to budget for an artist to do your logos. Selling AI generated stickers is where it really becomes deplorable. Profiting off of algorithm generated art that trains off of stolen actual art is disgusting and reprehensible. Shameful behavior when there's no shortage of struggling artists. read more

Came here for the shrimp, had the garlic shrimp plate sooooo delicious!! I preferred only max salad on mine. Had the POG juice it was ok. I only wish they were open later. Side note their bathroom is down the plaza with a gray door that has a star on it, don't forget to grab the key. read more

The shrimp is was BOMB!! If you're in town this place is a must. A great little lunch spot. Both the garlic and the iconic shrimp was delicious. I preferred the garlic shrimp. It really hit the spot today. read more

Hi, does anyone know if they'll be open this week? I've been trying to eat here since last week but it keeps saying "closed-special hours" and they don't answer the phone. We leave the island soon and this place looks like an absolute must try. 🤤
Chef is on vacation. Open again Tuesday 8/13. There is a sign posted in the front window of the truck.
