My first experience was disappointing. I read a review praising the gyro, and thought I'd give your place one more shot. I had a perfectly fine ice cream cone, and decided to see if you made a good sundae. The gyro and the sundae were disappointing. But coming back after a bad experience and trying two things I hadn't tried----How is that confusing? I stayed onsite because the creek is beautiful, and I was visiting with family. Also not confusing. You did not "allow me to leave with the order". You ran the payment twice, delivered my order, and then interrupted our meal twice to try to resolve your card reader issue. I showed you the charges on my Apple Cash App, and you still demanded that I tap my payment a third time. You approached while talking to someone on speakerphone, and handed me the receiver saying, "I have the rep from our card reader on the line. You can talk to him." You never once asked how we liked anything, until you recognized my name, while attempting to capture payment for the FOURTH time. Only then, after you demanded to know whether I was "the same Sierra" who left a negative review, did you ask about my experience. Not to improve it but, just as you did in this reply, as an accusation: "Why'd you come back if I you didn't like it?" There was no time at all spent "trying to address MY concerns." The sole aim of your interaction was to secure payment. Why didn't I "request a refund or replacement?" Really? I told you what was unsatisfactory, and stood by my earlier review. You dismissed my complaint and invoked my responsibility to "support small businesses", while still demanding that I give you cash (which is, in fact, an untraceable payment method), and running my card repeatedly, right in front of several "NO REFUNDS" signs. All three food items I've tried have been very poor--why would I request more? You were not denied the opportunity to make things right. You simply refused to make any attempt to do so. I really think your response does a better job of making my point than I can. read more

I have always stopped here and thought that it was a good value. Last night we stopped and got our usual medium cone with chocolate dip and a large milk shake. First I noticed that the price was a dollar and a half more than last week. I understand that inflation is crazy right now so I didn't think much about it. When we got our order the milkshake was fine but the cone appeared to be a child size. The cone was smaller and the ice cream was half of what it was the week before. We asked the clerk about it and he told us it was the same as always as if we couldn't see the difference. I think from now on I will take the longer drive to a different shop. read more

There were 3 orders in front of me (2 groups of 2 & a single person). I waited for over twenty minutes to get to the front of the line. Then waited another 10 minutes and gave up and went home. At one point the person behind the counter was B.S.ing with a customer who got their order for a few minutes before taking care of the next customer in line. The old owner did a better job taking care of the customers. This has happened to me before where I gave up waiting and walked to Stewart's for ice cream. This place is a waste of time if you want ice cream. read more

First of, you get lured into it because you think it's the only soft ice cream spot around - it's not. Better places are Weirs at Salisbury Mills close to New Windsor & Tantillo's Farm around north of Wallkill. Stewart's soft ice cream is always an option. The prices are a teeny bit more than other places for a soft serve. The other day I spotted two ticks, not sure why but they were big ticks, dog ticks, need a pest control thing.. the last thing is to get bitten by ticks. The server girls are very young, I hope they get paid well. The owner will pop out from time to time, he does have a bit of an attitude for an older guy. Overall, do find another place for soft serve, this place is a bit pricey for what it offers and has nowhere to sit really unless you'll rest your back on your car. read more

trying it for the first time. wish the menu was printed on the glass. so for my first run, got the almond macaroon frosty freeze, it was good, well blended and full of almond bits and coconuts. very creamy. also got for my roommate a chocolate brownie sundae which was perfect, tired to order it with German chocolate, but I guess none are for the sundaes.. a quite little place in corner near a park and stream. the server was nice and made sure my order was correct and asked if I wanted lids so the ice cream does not melt all over. good service. read more

Have enjoyed this place my entire life. Delicious home made ice cream, home made waffle bowls to their French fries! Their sizes are measured out... keep an eye out for the scale for new employees. It's an appropriate size, so excuse the neigh sayers. If you want more, order the next size. It's a seasonal stand with temporary employees, many of them at their first job. So go easy on them. Prices go up people, deal with it. Milk is expensive, therfore so is ice cream. But nothing beats a small cone from here! read more

Open seasonally with old time drive in appeal. This place is part ice cream stand part walk up snack bar. I've never had the food here but the ice cream is excellent. The soft serve is creamy and sweet and they don't skimp on the portion sizes. A large cone will be six inches and a balancing act. The hard ice cream is made in store. Nothing better than to sit out on a hot night and race to eat your cone before the summer heat gets it. read more

Frostee Freeze is fantastic. Easily the best in the area. I've been going here since I was little and they've kept us coming back ever since. New location is a little awkward but it's not a big deal. Going to neighboring ice cream places like Tantillos and the old Heavenly Creations in the Hamlet of Wallkill, you realize how much better Frostee Freeze is. Soft serve is great, milkshakes are great, and they're frostee freeze blends are their take on the bilzzard and they're awesome. All of their sundaes that they put up on the glass are worth trying as well. Love this place, support the local business! read more

I've been going here my whole life with my family. Ever since the change it has gone down hill. We went there today 6/22/19 and ordered ice cream and 2 slush Puppies. Grape and blue raspberry to be exact. We had opened the straw and poked it to find that it tastes god awful! I took the smallest sip. Tasted like straight corn syrup. I had mentioned it to the 2 young girls behind the counter. I had asked if the syrup is bad and explained that there is no way possible that anyone could stomach them. The one girl said that since we tasted it that we can't get our money back and that if they make a new one it will taste the same! WTF?! Because I tasted it, you can't refund me?! Are you serious?! Clearly they are teaching these young's girls the wrong meaning of customer service. Moral of the rant I will never be stoping by Walden Frostee again! read more

Have been a couple of times to the "new location" my boyfriend complains that they aren't as good -- somehow the old machines had better "flavor". I think they are good and am a big fan of the peanut butter dip. I think the kids working there need a little lesson in customer service, however, they were complaining that it was busy at 9:00pm during the week - HELLO! Those customers being there keep you employed and pay your salary! Wish they accepted debit cards! read more

Have to start by saying I like a lot of people from Walden have fond memories of the "custard stand". I remember walking when Walden Elementary used to walk the entire kindergarten class to Bradley Park and then to the custard stand for a field day. And it seems that place was always in the background of fond memories from my times in school to the fire department to dating to taking my kids there as well. Unfortunately times change - the rebuild seems to have gone well with only temporary minor inconveniences in parking and so forth. But we have gone twice this year and 2 things seems to glare at me -1. Is the value- prices went up but quality has gone down, cones were tiny and toppings seemed stale - even to a 9 year old. And 2. - I didn't feel any type of customer service- the owner was taking care of us and never greeted us or said thank you- just "next" and walked away in the middle of ordering- he came back with the wrong order since he didn't let me finish and had to remake a part of my order. After I paid and said thank you he just said next...is "next" all that place is coming to? I am hoping things are just a little hectic due to the remodel and they get back to the warm fun place of many peoples childhood where kids got a smile from the workers with comments like "extra special just for you" or asking what they are celebrating for such a big order- not just "next"...because the "next" business is right down the road. read more

Love this place! Been coming since I was little. You don't find small Mom and Pop type stores anymore. The food is fresh and made daily. The hard ice cream is made on the premises and ice cream cakes are made by hand. They only take cash but they have an ATM available. There's a cute park in the back and picnic tables you can sit at. read more

Excellent! I've been going to the "ice cream stand." Since I was a little kid. Would ride our bikes, stop for ice cream or food and ride back home. The experience has always been excellent. Friendly staff and a nice picnic area by a stream. Also, very close to a park. The owner is Greek and has one of the best gyros around! Definitely worth a stop! read more

I went today to buy a quart of vanilla ice-cream. The girl who helped me acted as if I was doing her a favor. I asked her if she packed the ice-cream down so that there was not a lot of air, after all $6 for a quart of ice-cream is not cheap. She lied to me and said she did, as I watched her put the ice-cream in the container she clearly did not. My mistake was I didn't video tape her with my phone. For $6, my family does not need to eat air and as a customer I expect to get what I pay for especially in this day and age. I am not a penny pincher, and when I don't mind paying for top quality, however paying for a quart of ice-cream and only getting a pint is highway robbery. Their new location is awkward and unsafe, next to Dunkin' Donuts, they really should have thought the setup through before building. read more
