Checked this place out and was surprised. Very favorable chicken sandwich. It's fresh chicken and not processed patties! It's an order and be seated restaurant. Lots seating inside and out and a bar. They had bogo drafts during happy hour. Very attentive and helpful staff.

Visiting family out here in the great state of Tennessee and stopped by Waldo's for the first time on the way home. I'm not big on chicken tenders but this place wasn't too bad. I feel the only real value is with the tender combo as why would you pay more foe a chicken sandwich when you can get 4 tenders and a drink for less cash than only a chicken sandwich? Fries were awesome. I later found out that you can get them extra crispy making them better, but I digress. Coleslaw is straight diabetes. Also great. I got their hottest dry rub and some habanero oil on the side. Both were manageable if you like heat. Customer service was on friendly and on point. Probably would stop by again for a quick snack. Would recommend

Waldo's is one of my favorite convenience options in Franklin. The food is good, the employees are friendly, they have a drive thru, and the prices are reasonable. I can also find fairly healthy options! This location is on the back of the strip with Vu Kitchen and Big Bad Breakfast. The drive thru is a big reason I end up here so often. There aren't a lot of drive thru options in this area so I'm very appreciative that Waldo's offers this. The employees here are very friendly. My first couple of visits I needed a minute and the employees were really nice about that. They are thorough with questions about orders to make sure they get it right. Waldo's isn't typical fast food so plan a few extra minutes. I have been fine with this since I think I get better quality food here. This is a great spot for healthy options or decadent ones. The fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and biscuits are delicious. Those are my more indulgent choices. I mostly come here when I want something healthier. The rotisserie chicken is delicious. They have about a dozen sauce options to kick it up a notch too. The cucumber salad is light and fresh. I like their collard greens too. The fries and potato wedges are just okay, a little on the soggy side. The Chicken Scratch Salad included a lot of greens, a generous portion of chicken, and really tasty croutons. The drinks are a hit with my husband and daughter. They love the sweet tea and lemonade. If I can grab a decent meal at a decent price without pulling my kids out of the car then you have my loyalty. Speaking of loyalty, they have a loyalty program to earn rewards too. All tracked by credit card instead of any work on your part. I'm a fan!

Food Everything was bangin! Ordered the rotisserie chicken, the OG, cheddar biscuit basket, Mac n cheese, potato wedges and Everything was amazing! The thing I Like is their chicken is actually seasoned well, not too much breading on the OG, the Alabama white sauce was really flavorful and paired well with the pulled chicken. The cheddar biscuits are a must-try and don't even need the butter. Service was extremely quick! Felt like we had the biscuits before we even sat down lol. Small interior, so most orders were takeout. Small selection of draft beers to choose from but the reason to try this place is definitely the food!

Since moving to Nashville, we have been a fan of Waldo's Chicken & Beer, visiting several of their locations around the city. Little did I know there was one near my office in Franklin, so when I found that out, of course I swung by for some tenders! This Waldo's sits in a plaza on Liberty Pike, features a drive thru, small bar to belly up to and a variety of seating for dine in. Service is always solid at Waldo's, no matter location. The employees here are always friendly and helpful when needed. Food wise, we always go for the tender meal, but have strayed and grabbed the OG Sandwich or even the nachos on occasion. My latest visit here, the tenders were calling, so I picked up. I usually go with the fries as my side, and they are decent. I am not a big fan of their side selection, but it does the trick. I usually get my tenders naked with the Alabama white sauce for dipping. They do offer a variety of beer and your standard drinks, which is what I usually go with, as that sweet tea normally hits the spot! Overall, we are a fan of Waldo's and it is good to know another location close to the office exists!

BEST. ONION. RINGS. IN OUR LIVES! Cooked to perfection you can taste the love! What a great addition to have in town! Family friendly, great for date night with the hubby, meal with friends, you name it! We ordered the Loaded Nachos with fried chicken, wings (ordered 2 sauces and they split it 50/50 for us), side of French fries, and coleslaw! It was an added bonus they have chocolate chip cookies at the register! Brought them home and had them with milk and some ice cream! Delicious! Highly recommend getting a side of onion rings. The fries were great, im picky on my fries but these were great. Loved the slaw, best I've had in Nashville thus far, the flavor is impeccable. I would definitely recommend trying their sandwiches- while we liked the wings I think their star of the menu is their sandwich/chicken meals. My boyfriend LOVED their loaded nachos! Can't wait to come back to try one of their chicken sandwiches! Thank you Team, keep up the great work!

I like that we can see the kitchen at work from the dining area. They have a great cocktail program, I highly recommend you try some. The food was great from the start. They brought us a complimentary truffle gnocchi since it was our first time there and it was excellent. The apps were great, with the bread and butter(s) and the brisket buns standing out. Mains were well executed, with my personal favorite being my girlfriend's filet. The desserts were also great and the flavors matched the season. One of our guests had a nut allergy and they did a great job accommodating us. The server was eager to talk but never encroached on our experience. I'd love to go back next time I'm in town!

This was our "splurge" dinner on a trip to Franklin, TN. My friend we were visiting had been before…read moreand had raved about it, but even she agreed this visit just wasn't up to snuff. The place is beautiful, but we were seated in the least interesting area. My friend said it used to be an open patio and was renovated for more indoor seating, which makes sense, but it lacked any real atmosphere. When I am spending this kind of money I want a slow, leisurly pace, and this felt rushed. Yes, we probably could have asked the waiter to slow things down, but we didn't. I ordered a specialty cocktail - the Midnight Sun that was delish - it was layered and around $16. The waiter then brought out what ended up being the highlight of the meal, a little treat from the chef. It was a creamy gnocchi dish to share, about three pieces each, super rich and honestly I could have eaten 20 more. We also spilt the bread flight. The bread was good but I wasn't a fan of the spreads, I'm a BUTTER person, these were more like bean spreads. The brussels sprouts with pork were also really good. Hubby and I split a mixed green salad that was pretty mediocre, and the croutons were almost too hard to chew. Then came the pork, which was a dissapointment. It was so tough it actually got caught in my throat a couple times despite chewing it well. We didn't even finish it. For the price, it should have been tender and full of flavor, and it was neither. My friend ordered the duck pasta and said it had "weird pieces of meat" in it. Her husband got the filet and loved it, so at least someone at the table was happy. We skipped dessert after most of us had disappointing entrees. I guess the good news is they rotate the menu every few months, so maybe it would be a totally different experience next time.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by one of the sweetest hosts, who made us feel genuinely welcome. We had made a reservation, and our table was ready immediately, making for a smooth and stress-free start to our meal. I would highly recommend making a reservation at least a day in advance--two days if you're visiting on a weekend or during peak travel times. It was clear this place is popular, and for good reason. Our server, Cody, truly made the experience unforgettable. Hands down, he is the best server I've ever had anywhere. He took the time to thoroughly walk us through the menu, explain the daily specials, answer all of our questions, and offer recommendations based on what we were looking for. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire dining experience. We ordered the pancakes, omelets, and of course, the famous biscuits. The biscuits absolutely deserve the hype! They were warm, buttery, fluffy, and practically melted in your mouth. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, and the omelets were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. One thing I really appreciated is that while Loveless Cafe offers a supper menu in the evenings, breakfast is served all day. That's perfect for anyone like me who believes breakfast tastes good no matter what time it is! It's easy to see why Loveless Cafe has become such a Nashville staple. Between the warm Southern hospitality, outstanding service, and incredible food, this was an experience we'll be talking about long after breakfast. If you're visiting Nashville, or even if you're a local who hasn't been yet, put Loveless Cafe at the top of your list. And if you're lucky enough to have Cody as your server, you're in for an exceptional experience!

Don't be shy with the BBQ sauce, it really takes everything to the next level. The platter comes with two sides. I chose one vegetable, baked beans, and one fruit, banana pudding. For those not from the South, macaroni and cheese is considered a vegetable, and banana pudding is absolutely a fruit. That's just science around here! The meal also included cornbread and slaw, making for a hearty plate of food. Everything was very good, portions were generous, and the service was excellent. I went with the Hogwood Sampler which comes with chicken, sausage, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, plus mac-n-cheese on the side. All in it was $27.89 plus tax, which feels like pretty fair market value for the amount and quality of food you're getting. The food itself was incredible. Way too many barbecue places lean way too hard on sauce to do the heavy lifting. That is not the case here. Every single meat had deep, legit smoky flavor on its own and honestly didn't even need sauce. That said, the sauces were also excellent. The Alabama white paired perfectly with the chicken, and the spicy tomato-based red sauce had a great kick without overpowering anything. Drink selection was another pleasant surprise. They've got Coke products and Tractor Organic Beverages. I mixed their unsweet tea with the Tractor mango and made myself a mango tea that worked way better than it had any right to. If I had to nitpick, the side selection is a little limited for my personal taste. I'm always hoping for fries or hush puppies, though to be fair that's not uncommon for BBQ joints around here. I also ran into a sticky spot on the table that clearly hadn't been fully wiped down from a previous guest. That said, the food was good enough that it still lands as a five-star experience for me. Hogwood BBQ is an excellent choice if you're looking for seriously good barbecue in Franklin.

It's a counter service joint; you walk up, order, and then someone runs the food to your table. First off, they asked for a point of service tip; that bugs me when I'm ordering my own food at the counter and fetching my own drinks. The menu is fairly standard for a southern BBA joint; brisket, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, chicken. I am generally suspicious of any place that offers chopped brisket. Brisket is meant to be sliced and enjoyed as a slab of meat, not as a pile of hash. So, the chopped brisket sandwich was out for me. I asked if the brisket platter would be served as slices, and they assured me it was, so I ordered brisket with two sides. They recommended the beans and the Mac 'n cheese, so that's what I went with. They also asked me if I wanted the meat lean, marbled, or half and half; I took that as a good sign, and asked for marbled. They food came out in about 5 mins; just enough time for me to head to the soda fountain and fill my own cup. Maybe they should tip me? On the plus side, the portions were pretty large. I'm guessing that the served at least 6-8 ounces of brisket, and the individual sides were pretty large as well. On the other hand, whoever sliced the brisket simply didn't know what they were doing. They sliced it WITH the grain, producing slices full of stringy meat. Stringy meat that was hard to cut with the plastic cutlery provided. I find it hard to believe that anyone who regularly serves BBQ brisket doesn't know to cut the meat against the grain. The meat appeared to feature a nice bark; however, on further exploration, a) the bark was so tough that it couldn't be cut as all with the plastic cutlery, and b) when I tore into it with my fingers and ate a piece, it had no taste. Not even a basic Texas salt and pepper rub could be detected. A large portion of tasteless, poorly cut meat does no one any favors. The beans were a little underdone; IMHO, that's far better than mushy, overcooked beans. However, they, too, had no flavor. No spice, nada. The mac and cheese was shells in a white cheese sauce. Strike 3; zero flavor for the sauce. I don't know how you can make cheese sauce without flavor, but they managed to do so. I have never, ever thrown as much food away at a a BBQ joint than I did today. What a shame. Not recommended, not even a little bit. Try Martin's or Edley's; if you prefer a chain, Mission BBQ will do you much better than Hogwood.
