If you're looking for a fun dive bar with a jukebox, darts and pool table, a cabin-sort of vibe (it's off a snowmobile track) and pretty excellent Buffalo wings, the Wales Center Hotel is your place. It definitely should be on your wing tour if you're looking for some of the tastiest Buffalo wings as the ones at the Wales Center Hotel does traditional Buffalo wings well. I came here on a Saturday early afternoon and the place was pretty packed. There's a decent amount of parking available and a good number of snowmobiles that come up to park which is kinda cool to see. Drinks are cheap with mixed drinks / shots between $2-6. Wings were $19 for 20 of them. I recommend the hot/medium...the BBQ were not as crispy and delicious, but still okay. The hot flavors are decently spicy, but not overwhelming or painful, so I would recommend the medium or hot. Wing orders are done at the bar. There's also a billiard table but I didn't give that a try. Check out the picture of the menu - they do a few things beside wings as well if you're looking for bar food!

I love Wales Center Hotel! It's definitely a locals hang out being located in a small town. They have some of Buffalo's, if not my favorite, best wings. The wings are all crispy but still saucy, I love their hot and grilled bbq. Their chicken finger subs are amazing, and I always order a zeet when I'm there. If you haven't had a zeet, trust me you need to try it. There's an outdoor pavilion for sitting outside, along with barstools and some high tops inside. They have a pool table, darts, and jukebox for playing your own tunes and keeping you occupied while you hang out. Parking is easy however on busy nights, don't be surprised if you have to park on the road!

Stopped in to watch the Bills game on Sunday as they are in an area that was not restricted by COVID rules and we could sit inside and eat/drink. We arrived to a crowded restaurant, but everything was set up for social distancing, and even though it seemed full, we were helped by someone that worked there to find a spot for the two of us with a view of a tv. We were instructed to wear our masks when not seated and that there was no table service and we could order food and drinks from the bartender, who was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed some drinks, ordered some food and had a nice time watching the Bills win! They had several menus available and besides regular menu items, they had a couple wing/pizza specials available which we chose. We opted for the small pizza and 10 wing special for $20 which seemed like a decent deal. The pizza was very tasty with sausage and banana peppers, and the wings hot, were delicious and had a unique flavor that we loved. They did have the patios open for people to use for smoking and had lots of signs up to reiterate the rules. Everyone was very pleasant that we talked to and we had a nice time out of the house. If they stay out of the restricted zones, we will be back!

We came here on an early Friday evening. This was my first time coming to the Wales Center Hotel. If you like authentic dive bars, this is the spot to go. I'm sure because of Covid, the bar is running a bit differently. We were a little confused walking in as far as not knowing if we needed to place an order at the bar or if there was a waitress. The bartender was helpful and gave us the rundown. I asked what they had on tap and she said they didn't have anything. Again, not sure if this was due to Covid. We ordered two blue lights, found a menu sitting on the pool table, and placed an order. We sat outside at a picnic table. The tables were ideal for a group setting. Lots of seating room. Our food came out really quick! We ordered the shrimp basket and the chicken finger basket. I really loved that the cocktail sauce was homemade and the shrimp were big. The fingers were also very Meaty and juicy. I would come back to the Wales Center Hotel most likely after Covid. Restaurants are trying their hardest during this time

The uneven wooden floors, and the rough beams throughout the dining rooms is absolutely charming. Today we were seated on the outdoor porch to enjoy the spectacular weather! We ordered a small c&p pizza for our small boys, and a basket of calamari for them to share. Let's just say they're not quite ready for calamari, but the pizza they deemed to be quite delicious. My husband loves their broiled Cajun fish, fry so he ordered it again today. He got the baked sweet potato and mentioned how delicious it was. I went with the Greek Chicken Salad, a sheer delight with Greek dressing as well as tzatziki. The salad itself was built on a base of fresh mixed spring lettuces topped with pickled banana peppers, fresh grape tomatoes, sweet purple onions, sliced cucumbers. The grilled chicken cutlet was cut julienne and was strewn on top. Everything that I love in a salad. The plate was also garnished with a stack of baked flatbread triangles, which were nice and crisp! Two bartenders were waiting on the entire floor, and we noticed that they were busting their running back-and-forth. We applaud their dedication!

It was good but I'm a Chicagoan so I have to say I prefer the Italian beef sandwiches over this. Beef on weck is more of a sliced beef served on a salted kimmelweck roll which has salt and caraway seeds and prepared horseradish on the side. Yes it was good and I'd probably get it again but if you grew up around here, it's a local fave. The place is like old rustic and had a nice vibe to it. Great service too!

Our table of 12 was accommodated with advance notice of arrival. Most tables are 2 or 4 tops. We went for the fish fry...I had broiled with crab topping. It came with fries, potato salad, and Cole slaw. The 5 kids split a cheese pizza which was very fresh. There was live atmosphere music with an older gentleman playing a keyboard. Owner was very friendly and you can tell many of the customers are regulars. Summer time has a lot of outdoor seating.

The same is true of the erroneous reports of this fine establishment being closed. As for the food, I had the "Fatboy". A pork belly sandwich slathered with a mango-habenero sauce and slaw. Saying that this sandwich was tasty would be an understatement. The hand cut fries complimented the Fatboy perfectly. If you're passing through the hamlet of Varysburg you should do yourself a favor and stop by the Varysburg Hotel, not merely for a treat to your taste buds, but for the atmosphere as well. The staff at the Varysburg Hotel make you feel welcome and remain attentive. Parking is limited, you'll most likely need to park on the street. A pro-tip for all, mind your speed as you come down 20a into Varysburg, unless you like contributing to the states general fund of course.
