Once again standing behind a dozen people waiting forever for pharmacy, with only one person working the counter!!!

Very poor customer service. The entire pharmacy staff would greatly benefit from a customer relationship training. This includes the pharmacist. I was there to pick a a prescription on 04.26.19 in the mid afternoon. The entire operation was quite chaotic. The technician who was processing my request (Jacqueline) left for lunch break in the middle of taking my order and didn't say a word. I was waiting at the counter for a while until another technician asked me what I was waiting for. The second one was the one who finalized the order. I had a consultation with the pharmacist on duty and he was rather dismissive and seemed overwhelmed. I went to get something to drink to take the oral medication prescribed, and came back to pay at the pharmacy cashier. At that moment, the same pharmacist on duty was having an unpleasant and animated argument with another patient. Something to do with her insurance coverage on issues regarding generic vs. brand name drugs, and a phone conversation with some guy named Jeremy. TMI! Very unprofessional. The patient was very rude too. I will avoid this pharmacy and location. read more

The worst pharmacy in Chicago. Wait times are the worst. Expect to wait at least 45min and they don't care or try to go faster

This is the worst Walgreens I've ever been to and I can't believe I'm even having to review one. Every visit should be great given the competition from Amazon. Line of 14-15 people and only one guy working the cash register. Meanwhile there are two other employees wandering around in the photo section pretending to be busy while they text on their phones. Gregory working the cash register was nice but the rest of the employees need to be more helpful. read more

Their Pharmacy continually lets us down. Their system will text you that your prescription is ready, but when you get there to pick it up they have nothing for you. The worst communication of any business I deal with. The people at the store blame the IT department. I blame Walgreens corporate. Get your shit together Walgreens. read more

Long lines and rude staff is the norm here. The guy with bad spray tan ignored me for 15 mins and then literally hung up on me in the drive thru. Seems like this place is under staffed but this was an awful experience start to finish! read more

Zero stars. Avoid this location if at all possible. Pharmacy is incapable of processing your order in under 15 minutes, even for refills called in ahead of time and there is a constant presence of panhandlers at the store's only entrance waiting to harass you. read more

I've used this pharmacy for several years as it's conveniently located. It was never great, but as of late the waits have been 45+ mins. Today I waited in the drive thru with my toddler - there are two lanes available and I went to the open lane (not blocked). I waited as they helped the car next to me for the next 20 minutes. Another car pulled in behind them and instead of helping me they went to the next car. I used the call button to understand what was going on and was told they'd be with me when they're done and hung up. Convenient location is the only thing that kept me coming here, but now it's time to find a new pharmacy. read more

It's a Walgreens! The staff are helpful. Checkout is friendly. BTW, Walgreen's has a Senior Discount Day (usually monthly) when AARP members and Senior Rewards members can receive additional discounts on select items! Staff are not informed in advance of the public the schedule for Senior Discount Day. Large selection of sale items, and they are usually in stock! Large parking lot. 24 hour pharmacy. This is our back up pharmacy when Costco is closed or doesn't have our prescription drugs in stock, or doesn't have an OTC item we need! The pharmacists are very helpful and willing to work with clients to find items in the shelves as well as help with issues! read more

This Walgreens is in a great location right on Halsted and right off the highway with a large parking lot. The pharmacy is great and there usually isn't a line. On the other hand the overall customer service is awful. A lot of their products are behind lock and key and you have to ring a bell to get a sales associate to open it for you. I was hoping to quickly stop in and pick up a razor but no one else involved was in a rush. I rang the bell and heard the announcement over the loud speaker. I waited about 5 minutes, pushed the button again and continued to wait. After about 10 minutes I started looking for sales associates but could not see anyone in the store besides myself. I pushed the button a few more times and FINALLY got someone to come over. No apology or acknowledgement that I had waited at least 15 minutes just to grab a razor off the shelf. Luckily there was no line at checkout so I was able to get out quickly. Don't have so many products behind lock and key without having staff to open the locks for the customer. read more

Is it only me that finds Blockbuster's movie rental rates ridiculous?! I've found my solution: Redbox. There is a Redbox inside of the Walgreens. Let's just say that I am a HUGE fan. I had gone there on the fly for a movie and was frustrated that they were all out. Alas, you can reserve it online and find which store it is at! :-) Doing that is much better. Yet - you do NOT have to return it to the same place - ANY redbox works! Cha-ching! That is awesome! And guess what? Some locations are outside or in 24-hour places so you are never out of luck! It's relatively easy to use. Reserve online with your credit card and you pick it up. (be sure to bring that card with you so they know it's you!) You can't beat $1/night + tax - take that Blockbuster! There aren't any due dates - it is an additional $1 for each night. Now I do have to say selection can be limited either by date or how busy that location is, but it beats $5 from otherplaces (sidenote: some production/movie places refuse to rent to Redbox because they are pissed off so your movie might not ever go to one of those locations). At this point, I think I am ready to break up with Blockbuster and go steady with the Redbox. read more

I've been using this Walgreen's for over a decade. I used to live in the area, now live in the 'burbs, but I still keep using this Walgreen's. It's open 24 hours. It's a short walk or Divvy ride from the Ogilvie train station. It's a good excuse to visit Greektown for lunch after shopping at Walgreen's. And they're a quick walk to Mariano's if I want to combine a drug store and supermarket trip before taking the Metra home. They have a drive-through window (which was useful when I owned a motorcycle, not so much now that I don't). For drivers: big parking lot with entrances/exits on three sides; electric charging station for plug-in cars; seconds away from the expressway on-ramp. Service has always been friendly and competent (I tried using a Walgreen's in south Evanston a few times but they seemed to mess up my prescription and insurance billing several times, so I went back to this Greektown Walgreen's). They've completely remodeled and brightened up the place in the last year or so, like a lot of other older Walgreen's stores. Also like other Walgreen's: express pay; emails and text messages when your prescription is being filled and is ready; loyalty program on smartphone or just by tapping in your phone number on the terminal. read more

First of all I want to say that I know yelp from work experience and know that people usually only will write reviews if they are 5 stars or 1 star; however, I truly think they deserve 1 star for my experience. I am a student from out of state and needed to get medicine. After approximately 20 minutes of the pharmacist punching things in the computer and asking me questions to verify my identity she basically accused me of being a criminal and wouldn't fill my prescription. I believe her name was Anne or something with an A but I know she was the pharmacist and not the Pharm tech. I ended up having to take a cab to another pharmacy to get my prescription filled. I will not be back at Walgreens again because of that experience. I hope this comes to the pharmacists attention because her duty is to have public health as her top priority, not play tough guy with 20 year old kids. read more

This Walgreens is horrible if you are trying to fill or pickup a prescription. Last time I went to this location I had already called in my prescription hours before and just needed to pick up and pay. Unfortunately, there was a very large very scary man in front of me convincing the pharmacist that he needed him to fill his meds because he took all of his. Um? Isn't a doctor suppose to make that call? I never knew "I took 2 a day instead of 1" was a valid argument when it comes to refilling pharmaceuticals. Obviously your doc gives you what you are suppose to have. Anyways, the scariness of this man worked because the pharmacist filled the prescription while myself and 3 other people waited around 20 minutes. He actually didn't even acknowledge my presence, and no apology when it was my time to checkout. I refuse to go back here. Ah, the WAG. You love it, but you hate it. It's always so convenient yet simultaneously a headache and sometimes a bitter pill to swallow, but you have to take your medicine like your mommy told you. I can't hate too much on the WAG, as my great aunt worked for them many years ago and was able to enjoy over 25 years of retirement thanks to her pension and performance of WAG stock. WAG was a stellar performer in the market back in the day and used to sell at 35 times. That's hardly the case anymore, as WAG is now firmly entrenched in the discount aisle with the crappy generic toilet paper. I digress. Right, well Walgreen's is nice and convenient for picking up your day-to-day sundries, a Powerade or a Three Musketeers bar. I'll give them that. The problems with Walgreen's are the prices, the fact that you'll have to case the entire store before you find the item you specifically came into the store to purchase and that you'll be suckered into purchasing other items by happenstance as you wend your way around the store tracking down the same item. No two Walgreen's stores are the same. Just when you think you know where to find an item based on a prior visit to your local Walgreen's, you go into another Walgreen's store (how can you not, as they're ubiquitous) and the layout is entirely different. Why? Probably because they want to confuse you so you get a look at all of those other enticing items that are overpriced. To compound matters, this particular Walgreen's just remodeled and changed the entire layout. Talk about rats in a maze. As to the prices, you can find some deals if you look, but the perfect example of their high prices is in the condom aisle. You're looking at $12.99 for a 12-pack of nice jimmy hats. You know, just in case. On my travels last year, I noticed in southwestern Michigan and in, uh, Tennessee that they were half the price they are in Chicago. Thanks for ripping me off, Walgreen's. I don't feel sorry for that stock performance any more. Walgreen's: you love it but you hate it. But you'll always be back. It's two-and-a-half stars, but I'll bump them to three for being good to my great aunt. read more

We used to go hear several times per month but not anymore. Tonight we found a broken container of orange juice and thought it would be nice to give to a staff member. We could have easily just left it there but my husband picked it up and walked up to Ashley who appeared to be straightening merchandise. He told her he found it broken and wondered if he could give it to her. She told him he could take it to the counter. Really? someone is being nice bringing damaged merchandise to you and you can't take it? That in itself is annoying but what she did next was completely uncalled for and really bizarre. My husband said, "you can't take this?." so she grabbed it from him aggressively and said in the rudest snottiest voice "Yes, I'll take it for you!". OK, he's trying to help her do her job and she acted like she just asked him to demean herself. Clearly helping customers is not what she thinks she should be doing. Maybe she's some supermodel that is doing a guest gig at Walgreens or something and asking her to help was just too insulting. She is clearly too good for this job. Then I asked our checker what her name was...he said he didn't know. Really? He was mumbling under his breath about us to another clerk. I guess being an ass to customers is ok in this store now. Then when we were talking with the manager, the clerk that "didn't know Ashley's name" came over and was listening as if he were somehow involved. Why was he there especially if he had no idea who Ashley was? These people do not need to be working with customers. Unbelievable. Good thing Target is opening up down the street. By by Walgreens. It's been over 5 hours now that I've been waiting for my prescription since my doctor sent it to them. One is out of stock and I've called multiple times now to see when the antibiotic would be ready and it's impossible to get anyone on the phone. Did they fire their entire staff? I never had these issues with CVS. Definitely switching my pharmacy back. read more

It's a big walgreens and doesn't feel too cluttered. They have a nice big parking lot, which is convenient, although they certainly say they're serious about people not going anywhere other than walgreens while parked there, and I haven't tried. This location does the yellow fever vaccine upon request, which is good to know because I've heard it can be a hassle to get it. read more

Worst experience ever today. The ATM didn't dispense my money. I spoke with the manager who said she couldn't help me, nor did she. That's not our machine was her response. I was told to call the bank which we know is closed at 7 in the morning. No telephone number was available. I actually attempted to call the non emergency police because I felt I had been robbed. Luckily I had wallet valet and it showed me my transaction had been cancelled and no money was actually taken from my account. Thanks for all your concern and help Walgreens and thank you for charging me 7.99 for the 3.99 Amy's 9.5 oz. Broccoli and Cheddar Bowl. So disappointing! read more

Pharmacy is way understaffed. I've tried getting my prescriptions multiple times at different times of the day and have had to leave due to the long, extremely slow lines both inside and at the drive thru. I hesitate to use the Express pickup option cause it's like a slap in the face to everyone else in line. Seriously considering a move to CVS. read more

Not sure what Walgreens is thinking by eliminating 24 Hr pharmacy from this location, but how are we supposed to get DRUGS?!?! This was a convenient location, because they were just off the expressway, had parking, and were a short drive away. Now, the nearest 24 hr pharmacy is in River North. Not everyone works 9-5 and can pop into any location. Good luck fighting traffic on a Friday night to get your prescription filled. read more

While this Walgreens is fine to pick up a bottle of shampoo or advil, DO NOT get a prescription filled here. I had them a refill of a very common medicine. When i picked it up and brought it home, the packaging looked different, but it was the same brand so I thought no biggie. Well I saw my doctor today and showed her what they gave me and it was the WRONG RX!! Good thing i wasn't allergic to anything in this particular medicine. It might be weird to give a review to a Walgreens chain store but I have to give this store a shout out for being far superior to lots of them. First of all let me say I drive for a Rideshare company. It's very hard late at night to find a place to use the bathroom and lots of places are unfriendly. Some Walgreens have their bathrooms locked and some won't let anyone use it at all after 10pm. This place has literally saved my life (or at least deep embarrassment) on several occasions. It's not only available but CLEAN and not only that. They just renovated it! I want to hug the manager. Seriously! I buy so many things there because I stop to use the rest room. From pharmacy items, to personal care items. to candy, to food to drinks, to christmas stuff to petcare - you name it and I have probably bought it here. The staff is nice and pleasant and helpful. I actually enjoy seeing them. As others have noted it is annoying that panhandlers are out front every single time you visit but that's a price I'll pay for this nice, clean, good service store in one of my favorite neighborhoods. Good job Manager! You are so much bette than lots of the other stores! UPDATE - I have taken this review from a 4 star down to a 3 star because they have now locked the bathroom and the woman they have working the front register is a big woman with resting bitch face. Short and sweet - Pros: - It's close by. - It's open 24 hours. - The pharmacists are very nice. - The cashiers are generally nice. Cons: - Yes, the panhandlers can be aggressive. Handle or don't but it's a fact of life in the city. - Another store that could use an interior facelift and updating. - It's not the staff that generally bugs me but the customers sometimes who seem to lose all common sense and courtesy when they walk in the door. read more

The store aspect of the Greek town walgreens is very nice and modern. There is a large and well stocked beauty section with Essie nail polish (my fav) and a very complete infant/baby supply section. The checkout is also smooth and quick. The pharmacy aspect is another story. I was waiting over half an hour and finally went to see what was taking so long. Apparently the electronic name board in the waiting area wasn't working so customers were just sitting and waiting much longer than needed. Hopefully it was a one time fluke! They have an indoor redbox which is nice in the cold winter months if you want to get a video without freezing your hands off. read more

Got an email to refill my prescription, went to pick it up (3 month supply of BC) and I was told it was already filled 4 days prior. However, it was not filled by me! Spent hours and hours calling various places (pharmacy, store manager, my insurance company, and finally corporate Walgreens). The pharmacist on duty was an absolute jerk and told me he couldn't do anything because the prescription was filled and I can pay for it full price if I wanted it! My 3 month supply of BC is over $500 Or I can wait until April to pick up my next 3 month supply (ummm hello this is birth control)!! It's needed on time every month to prevent a pregnancy! Why don't you admit fault and that you didn't do your due diligence when handing out a prescription! And find a solution instead of placing blame on everyone but YOURSELF! I will never ever set foot in another Walgreens and had all future prescriptions sent elsewhere! After calling a different Walgreens pharmacy and explaining my situation (since THIS Walgreens wanted to be anything but helpful) they said there should be video footage from the cameras and I can view the time it was picked up and by who....fun little fact that this Walgreens didn't care to take the time to figure out! I checked the footage at the Walgreens for the time My prescription was filled and the car was clearly not mine. After 6 hours of a stressful day calling and calling they gave me my prescription! That is rightfully mine! If you don't do your job correctly, you will eat the cost of your mistake, not me! ....nobody puts baby in the corner read more

This is Walgreens so it's not like anything amazing really happens here. I did really enjoy the nice welcome from the counter clerk as I walked in. She said hi to everyone, which is great, even if they are required to do it, it makes them seem a little more friendly. The prices at Walgreens are a little high, but definitely use the coupon books! read more

I continue to use this Walgreens for my needs as the staff is friendly and they carry products I am shopping for. The only reason for the 4 stars versus 5 stars is the pharmacy lines can be extremely long during peak hours (I have left and returned). The team may want to reconsider staffing decisions at the pharmacy during peak hours (especially between 4pm and 7pm). read more

TRULY the worst Walgreens ever. Unless you are in the business of wasting valuable time, do not go here. The pharmacist and every single pharmacy team member is beyond incompetent. Unfortunately my insurance changed and now I have to use Walgreens instead of CVS. None of the employees here would ever be hired at CVS due to their lack of competency, lack of customer service, and ability to answer the phones or accurately refill prescriptions. On top of everything else, I finally got 1 out of the 2 prescriptions I have been waiting (one since 2/27), and when she handed it to me it blew off the thing and just stood there staring at me and then walked away. Truly, terrible terrible terrible. I am so sad to leave CVS, every location I've ever gone to is always phenomenal. read more
