This location of Walgreens was honestly much nicer than the CVS at the shopping center next door. Walking in the space was cleaner and more organized. The associate was able to unlock my shampoo (they had one in stock) and I chatted with him about how they had switched the formula and weren't telling the companies that sell the product. After checking me out he ended up attempting to do a warehouse stock check to see if they could order it for me, but wasn't able to find it. I thanked him for trying and he wished me good luck and with that I was on my way. All in all, a successful trip! read more

This store is awful. It lacks customer service, plus they lock down most of their over-the-counter meds. When I asked for assistance so I could purchase an item, I was kept waiting and then greeted with a huff and told that it would be waiting for me at the register. Nothing feels so welcoming as to be treated like a potential thief. I told them nevermind, that I would just walk across the parking lot to Safeway and buy the item there, and I wouldn't have to ask for someone to grab it from a locked case. read more

I just can't with this pharmacy. It is literally not possible to Loathe a Pharmacy more than I do this one. It's a shit mess. Long ass waits, scowls when you finally do get up to the team member. Then as you're waiting for them to gather your medicines, you read their sign on the glass that states they are short staffed and "please be kind to the cashier". As the cashier is being rude AF to me while I'm being polite and well mannered to her. Today I wait in line for 25 years before I get to get up to the counter. She finds my prescriptions, scans, one, and stands there, glaring to the left of her. Doesn't say a word to me. A few minutes into this, my ask what we're waiting for? She just says "pharmacist." Being short staffed doesn't give these folks a green light to be rude AF. Ok. Like what for? We stand there for roughly 5 more minutes. She never makes eye contact with me. Then the pharmacist finally comes over politely and asked me if I have any questions on the medication. I say no thank you. He walks off. Then she finishes ringing me up. She couldn't have asked me prior to me waiting if I had questions? Btw, these are medicines I already take lol. Maybe I would have questions 6 months ago when I started taking them lol. Another time, they refill a partial of 2 of my prescriptions and don't say anything. I noticed when I get home. These people, minus the police pharmacist, are asshats. Go elsewhere. read more

The store is GREAT! However, since I was forced to change to this Pharmacy, I have never had so many issues with my medications. They do not follow up with Dr. offices. The phone refill systems sucks! So much so that the pharmacists even told me not to use it. They are rude AF on the phone. But most of all I have run out of medicine 3 times, for a week or more, while they're getting their shit straight. Almost causing me to go to end up in the hospital. I came here originally to print out some photos. The lady who helped me was extremely friendly and helpful and made that process really fast and easy for me. Only took a few minutes to get my pictures printed out. Saw a couple of tasty chips in that aisle and help myself to a bag of chips too. This Walgreens is good for basic basic needs. Anything else it is not very good. If you order photos, expect a delay and not to get your order on time. And I mean an hours long delay. The other option they offer is to cancel your order and have you reorder at another Walgreens. They didn't even start printing the photos until after I came. The pharmacy is super slow also. The Pharmacy department has gone too hell in the last few years! Sherman and the rest of the pharmacists and crew try their best, but the lines are way to long and you can never reach them by phone. Two stars because the location is convenient and they have a lot of items when I need things in a pinch. However, 0 stars for the pharmacy. The wait is usually 15 to 30 minutes or more, in peak and off-peak times. It's a regular occurrence that my maintenance medication is out of stock so I have to wait several extra days after I submit for a refill. It got so bad with one of my regular meds that I moved it to a different pharmacy altogether. I also have to do a lot of of follow up when a new medication is submitted by a doctor because at some point, they drop the ball (e.g., your insurance company hasn't given a prior authorization...but they have). The time the pharmacy is closed on the weekends in the afternoon isn't the same time that's listed in the emails I receive, so more than once I've made the trip to pick up a prescription only to find out they're closed. I'm not the only one because I've seen others wait in line while it's closed, too. Calling can be equally as frustrating. Today, I had to call no less than three times over the course of 45 minutes because they hung up on me while I was waiting for someone to answer my call TWICE. So if you're looking for a pharmacy, I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I've held back for YEARS writing this review but I've genuinely finally had enough. There is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS an issue in pharmacy. I have never once had a smooth pick up and as someone with chronic illnesses that's fairly important. Each tech has a different way of doing things apparently, so if you do use this pharmacy make sure to have every single medical insurance card under the sun because heaven forbid if you're missing one, you'll catch attitude and whoops! no medication for you. I've gone back and forth to this Walgreens multiple days now, because each tech requests a different form of insurance, saying they don't accept the form the previous tech asked me for. there's been occasions I put off picking up medication just because I hate this location. Do better. You'd think people in healthcare would treat patients with more compassion and respect. read more

I was very publicly humiliated today while purchasing a lunch cooler by a caucasian 40 something year old cashier who falsely accused me of shoplifting. I consider what happened tantamount to public slander. I have contacted the corporate office and I expect that something be done about this employee. First let me state I am a loyal walgreens customer who spends thousands of dollars a year primarily at the Clayton and Walnut Creek North Main stores both in the store and pharmacy. I would drive 5 miles to shop at Walgreens versus CVS. The prices are better the store is merchandised better and generally the employees are better. I could not believe the attitude of this cashier. Mind you I was not in his check out line. He told the lady cashier very publicly to check my cooler that I had put items from the As Seen On TV shelf in the cooler. When she opened it up guess what nothing. Yes I stopped by that shelf looking for the personal ac unit I had seen before but I would never try to hide items in a cooler in order to steal. I was outraged and when I protested he began laughing. When I askes him why he was laughing he said he was laughing at something else. Then he made a comment I must be a magician. WTF! This guy literally claimed he saw me put items in the cooler. I challenge the management to review their video footage so they can plainly see there was no monkey business. I understand this store has a lot of problems with people stealing but you cannot publicly accuse someone when you got it wrong. This cashier should have apologized when the cooler was opened to reveal nothing. I dont know what hes smoking or if hes on medication or maybe he is stressed out and hallucinating but if you accuse someone of something you better be right or you better be sorry. He had an attitude and I hope he gets reprimanded or next time Im in the store he can personally apologize to me. read more

I've tried CVS, Safeway, and other pharmacies; however, the friendliness, thoroughness, and credibility at this location is stellar. Sherman, the pharmacist, and Angela and Richelle, the techs, are very knowledgeable and possess a warm bedside-manner. My prescriptions are always ready, as promised unless there is an issue, which I have experienced the staff to go above and beyond to reconcile. The other pharmacies in the area could use a lesson in customer/patient care from this team. The other departments are filled with exceptional staff as well; however, my main business is in the pharmacy. read more

Came to this Walgreens this morning (02/28/2023, 10:37) to drop off a FedEx parcel. Female clerk wanted to argue about how I was going to receive a receipt, never telling me that it was going to be sent via text only after I had given her my landline number. She insisted it was all my fault for not knowing that I would not be receiving a hard copy, but rather a text copy, which obviously won't work with a landline phone. The pharmacy use to be one of the best. Now it's not even one star. Made a 2pm appt for booster, came in at 145p, had to go back in line to tell them I was waiting and was told that I should've brought the paper work back (after I was told to fill it out and wait). Finally got a shot at 230p. There use to be 4 people in there now there is 6 and the place is a mess. I would not recommend ANYONE to go here. They do not take drop-ins as is stated IN THE PHARMACY, ONLINE or OVERHEAD in the store. Small types out signs say they are too busy. Hopefully it gets better. read more

The service at the Walgreens pharmacy in Clayton has gone downhill into the abyss in the last year (2020-2021) and particularly in the last few months. I'm not faulting the staff because I think pharmacist, Sherman, and others are doing their best working with a skeleton crew. Their lack of staff results in long phone wait times (and often dropped calls), prescriptions delays of days to fill instead of hours, and waits in line of at least 20-25 minutes while one pharmacy technician is working the counter (instead of two). It's not clear whether their staffing issues are related to recruitment or retainment or if Walgreens Corporate is making the decision to cut staff in order to increase their profit margins. I really don't expect my Yelp review to make any difference. What I have done and perhaps suggest is calling and/or emailing their Consumer Relations Department and expressing your dissatisfaction. Used to be the best pharmacy ever! Now, I dread going there, never knowing what to expect. The pharmacy staff is still great, but either they now have, too many clients or something else has screwed up their performance. Trying to reach them by phone is impossible, if you want to talk to a pharmacy team member! Lines have become impossible, taking usually, 15 over 20 minutes now. I tried to check up on a prescription status today, phoned in to the computer, several days ago, and the computer didn't even recognize my order. Since I couldn't get through to the pharmacy by phone, I will once again, have to stand in line tomorrow, and I only have two days of medication left, yet I called in 9 days before the end of these meds! And when I realized that I forgot an item, she told me to wait at the register while she went and brought it up to cash wrap. How nice of her! The store is clean and well stocked. I went in to get my passport photo that I prepared using an app printed out at this location. All the measurements would be correct only if they could print it out "fit" on the width instead of height on 2x3. The lady at the photo department said that they can't do it because they just press one button to print photos, and the only way is using their passport photo service. So I asked if I can get it taken now, then she said "no, because you are wearing a light color clothes." There is NO such rule listed on the government website, but I went ahead and took off my tan color sweater because I had a dark green inner layer on. She said nothing and walked to the side to see a camera for one second (I'm not exaggerating) and said "camera is not working." Wow, just wow. She was clearly not interested in helping me. I came in to reprint some last minute headshots and was willing to come back around an hour later once they were ready. However, upon my return, i was notified that nobody had started my order. Crisis was averted though as Patrick immediately printed them out. i suppose he was new, as he didn't know how to make the labels for photo orders and i did have to wait a few more minutes so he could get someone to help him out, but i understand and empathize, as we all were trainees and new at one point in our jobs. honestly, the only reason this review gives 5/5 was because Patrick was really cute. congrats Patrick on your white genetics and being the mainstream idea of beauty, they saved you this time and made me overlook the minor issue of me being forgotten. but it's fine, i am used to being forgotten by white men. and all in the name of a couple of headshots. read more

I guess you can't give a zero star rating so going with one star so I can post my experience. I had a vaccination shot appointment with the pharmacy today for my mother who is 90. There was a guy sitting in a chair right next to the counter who had unfiltered rap music blasting and who was constantly coughing, wheezing and belching without any attempt to cover up. Staff didn't seem to care. The woman who waited on us was unprofessionally dressed, hard to understand and had no clue what she was doing. After waiting at the counter for 15 minutes to get my mom checked in, we just left. The place is a complete sh*t hole, very dirty and unwelcoming. This used to be a nice store but not to worry, there is a CVS across the street who will be getting 100% of my business from now on. read more

Told me my order was never received. Employee went back to help the growing line, so waited longer for someone to help me.
