BEST WALGREEN'S EVER!!! Not only is it 24/7 and convenient, they sell Filipino goodies there like "boy bawang" (i can hear the Filipinos laughing at me and at this). I wouldn't necessarily buy pan de sal or lumpia wrapper since there are fresh bakeries and markets all around the area but its exciting to see those items at walgreens. of all places, yes WalGreens. I actually was craving Casa cake at 1am in the morning and purchased a 4 pack frozen pack and steamed it. i thought i'd need sugar but it was actually good and i enjoyed it. Also, when toiletries runs out this convenient place and i there to save the day out of me. they are always stalked, there is always polite helpers, and i never run over the budget because, duh, it's walgreens! But minus one star because PARKING SUCKS and people do not know how to drive or park for crap. I do blame the four way stop design at the corner of starbucks and the one way in and one way out doesn't help much but people need to compromise. I usually park far, its pointless to waste time waiting and waiting for someone to leave. Hands down the worst place to fill your prescriptions. There is always a line, it always takes forever (we're talking 30-45 minutes) and hand the time when I show up they haven't filled my prescription even when it's been called in and confirmed days in advance. I truly don't know how it can be so poorly run. read more

I went in looking for hemostats. I asked one person who directed me to an aisle that had only medications. He then called for customer assistance who didn't know what they are. I explained they are similar to tweezers but are for clamping and a medical device. He tried to take me to the tweezers section when I reiterated that they are a medical device. He he then mumbled something I couldn't understand, and then just walked away...and never came back. After a couple of minutes it became very clear he never intended to even bother to follow up. After today, if I could give this place negative stars, I would. I 100% understand why the store had to close early today. With everything happening in the world, and the curfew, I understand. What I don't understand however, is the need for the store manager to be screaming at customers who, like me, had absolutely NO idea the store would be closing early. At 4pm, I spoke to a pharmacist who stated my medication would be ready at 6:30pm. I took this to assume the store would be open at least until then. Luckily, I received a text well before that time, and arrived around 5:01pm. Apparently that was too late. The store closed at 5. When you're an essential business/providing services related to life or death, you should probably warn your customers you're closing early. Or maybe alert your pharmacists so that they don't tell people to come in 90 minutes after you've already closed. Communication is essential. I work in healthcare, so I'm lucky enough to have other resources and/or can wait for my medications. Other people were not so lucky. There were multiple elderly people outside of the store...confused and very clearly had no idea how to go about getting their medication that they so desperately needed. One lady was nearly in tears because she needed insulin for her diabetes and had no idea where she was going to get it since her prescription had already been "filled" at this location. The manager didn't even flinch...he didn't care at all. The store manager was not only rude and legitimately screaming at customers at the top of his lungs, he was also condescending and said "Too bad. Come tomorrow before 5 or you won't get your meds again." As a manager, I would think you'd at least have a little bit of compassion for the people who very clearly weren't there to mindlessly shop and peruse the store aisles because they were bored....but were there for their health and safety. I've been going to this specific Walgreens for 10+ years....but after today, I will definitely not be returning to not only this Walgreens, but any Walgreens. Worst manager I've ever had to deal with in my life. The screaming was unnecessary and unacceptable. There are other ways to communicate. This Walgreens is a mess. I understand that it's a 24 hour Walgreens, but there has to be standards for sanitation and cleanliness. The line for the pharmacy is always extremely long, so expect at least an hour in line, and an extra 15 minutes at the register because they either can't find your medication, pharmacist has to approve, or the lady in the back counter decides to stock the shelves which you're waiting. At least I use the Express Pay now, get in and out. But this Walgreens needs to step up their game if they are to compete against the CVS that's opening up in the target next door! read more

Consumer beware: Pharmacy clerk named Chai will expose your private health data. I was satisfied with their service at their pharmacy counter until today. I was waiting for a refill prescription to be processed and since it wasn't ready yet I walked over to the aisle in front of the pharmacy where the blood pressure monitor kits are and I overheard one of the clerks talking to another clerk out loud about one of their customer's personal health information including what was in their system. As someone who works at a hospital, I was disgusted of her behavior because she had no right to do that. Customers trust them with these private data and she made a gossip about them. After hearing what she said, I went back to the pick up counter and asked the cashier clerk for the loudmouth's name and she said that's Chai. Unfortunately their new manager was not there otherwise I would have reported Chai for violating HIPAA rules. Chai should learn to treat every individual's health information private. In fact she can be fined or lose her job for doing that. Been going to this store for more than a decade, their previous head pharmacist would never let his staff get away with something like this. Ever since Dr. Lee retired, the pharmacy's "new team" failed to follow the same path of professionalism that Dr. Lee practiced. read more

Worst. Pharmacy. Ever. I changed jobs a while back, and my old Walgreens is no longer convenient; whileis one is in the same shopping plaza as my Trader Joes. So I had my doctor transfer my prescriptions over. The place has always been kind of a mess, but location, location, location... or so I thought. Now, I've had indifferent pharmacists before, surly pharmacists, slow pharmacists, even had one before who gave me someone else's prescription. Until today, I have never had a pharmacist straight up refuse to fill a prescription for me. That happened today at this Walgreens. And given the particular prescription and its purpose (Truvada for PrEP) and to whom it is usually prescribed; this is super extra troubling, infuriating, and outright insufferable. Now, what motive would someone have for denying me this particular medication? I *wonder*... (not). There's no question that it was a legit and current scrip. I've been taking it for years. Whatever pre-auth my doctor's office had to do with my insurance is long-since done. I have One Medical, so I was able to show them the notifications that my refill was approved and sent. I showed them the actual message from my doctor reminding me that I am due for an office visit, but that he had approved and sent the refill anyway. I even showed them their own app on my iPhone, showing that they'd filled it yesterday, Jan 9th. But even after all that, they refused to hand it over. It's not even like it's any effort on their part. They don't even have to count out pills for Truvada. It comes pre-packaged in 30-day bottles. So all they ever have to do is take them off the shelf and drop them in a bag. But they straight up refused; and told me that if I had a problem with it to come back to complain on Monday or to get lost entirely and go to another Walgreens. read more

This pharmacy is full of shit. I went there to get plan-B for emergency birth control. The pharmacy told me to use insurance coverage I need doctors prescription. Then I went to get it over the counter, the staff told me to use FSA I need doctors prescription. These are all pharmacy policies. EXCUSE ME? It's called emergency birth control. Can I not do less then 1 Star!? This pharmacy is the worst! Cannot wait for target to open next door and I'm praying they will have a pharmacy! The staff at this pharmacy are rude to the customers, don't care, sit on their phones while there is a long line, and the list goes on and on...... the manager is useless as well and just doesn't care whatsoever! This has to be one of the most inefficient pharmacies. It took 40 minutes plus to drop off a prescription. Pharmacy techs are not well trained. The official business language is English, but pharmacy techs/staff speak in their native tongue in front of consumers that do not understand what is being said. This review is solely intended for getting a photo printed on canvas. I got a cartoon image commissioned from overseas and wanted to get it printed on canvas. I got a cal this morning from the west lake Walgreens photo department asking if I own the image. I called in and I was made to hold for quite some time. I ended up getting a call from another lady who then asked me if I owned the image. I responded with, yes. I got it commissioned. She asked me what it meant, and I then told her that I paid someone to create the image and I own it. She then asks me for a copyright or a letter from the artist that would say that I have all rights to the photo. Immediately in my head I thought of, how are you able to verify that if I gave them a letter, that they're able to verify that it's that artist that made it. This lady then says that we'll just go by "Trust". I mean like, WOW! How subjective can you be? You have the nerve to ask quote me your policies and your procedures yet you conveniently reiterated that you'll go by trust, sound like a load of bull. If I could give no stars, I would! I have been coming to this particular Walgreens my entire life but during the past couple of visits, the customer service has been the most unprofessional I've ever seen. Today it was so bad that I decided I will no longer return to the pharmacy here. I waited in line for 20 minutes and when I reached the first cashier, she was unfriendly and condescending seeming to project her bad attitude on me. She also made me feel rushed. After quickly providing my and my husband's name, she could not find my husband in the system; however, she rechecked and saw some prescription that was placed back. Please note, my husband was here days ago trying to get his prescription but told him to pick up it up another day. The first representative informed me that I could wait for my husband's prescription another 20 minutes, then told me to go to another window for insurance verification. I went to the wrong window and she yelled at me to go to the furthest window. I went to the drop-off window and the new representative also had poor customer service. She said my Anthem Blue Cross insurance wasn't current. I was surprised as I have had the same insurance for 6 years, and informed her this was my latest insurance card. She then contradicted herself and said my insurance was current as medical insurance but not as a prescription insurance. I am familiar with prescription cards but never was it necessary for me to provide them to get medication at other pharmacies. She was obviously poor at communicating, and then told me to go back to the pick-up window. The third representative told me she needed a pharmacist to clear me on my husband's prescription. I understand this is necessary for specific medications but unfortunately, I had to wait again. Although there were plenty of workers, there was not enough organization, and obvious that the place was very poorly managed. The line was long and I overheard others complaining of the wait. The pharmacist cleared me, then the third representative had to ring me up. It seemed so inefficient to go through 2 visits and in my visit, 4 representatives to get a prescription. It was such an awful experience and I am sad that this Walgreens pharmacy has declined in recent times. read more

I really like that this place is open 24 hours. That can be convenient, however, this place needs more staff. I can tell the employees are over worked and always short. Lines become long within seconds with no additional support. Many items are not well stocked and deals of the week are not updated accordingly. I'm not reviewing the pharmacy section since I get my meds in SF, not Daly City and in fact when I came on a Saturday, there was a long line in the pharmacy section. So why review it? Because Walgreen's literally saved my life!! I came on a Saturday afternoon. I'm not used to the heat in Daly City and went to Jamba Juice to get a refreshing drink. But there was a LONG LINE out the door!! And no where to sit!! Even all the benches at Westlake Plaza were taken!! So I went to Starbux. Same thing! I was so desperate I went into Walgreens, expecting a tiny store with medium to long lines. But I was SHOCKED to see a store AS BIG AS TARGET!! They had a large aisle just for salads/wraps and many for drinks. They even sold house dresses. They had MANY aisles for groceries, beauty products, etc. And the cashier lines were SHORT!! I grabbed a pile of drinks and salad and finally was able to rest by sitting at a chair in the pharmacy section and so I drank my can of coconut juice. I was just amazed at the VAST store space of products. After my rest, I grabbed some organic gummy bears, and even some Instyle fragrances(Instyle makes $12 high quality dupes of the over $100 expensive popular perfumes) I could't find in SF and went to pay, but only stood behind ONE PERSON IN LINE!! Do not come here if you are getting Covid 19 vaccine. Most unorganized facility ever to administer the vaccine. I appreciate Walgreens providing this service but if it's not managed properly it becomes a big fail to fight this pandemic. Had a 11:30 appointment and arrived at 11 am on Sunday. Didn't finish until 3 hours later. If there are appointments no way should it take that long. Either the system double booked or the staff was extremely slow. First thing that's wrong about this place is no one knows where to go or which line to go to. Lines are out the door every aisle has people lined up but it's confusing that you have to check in at the middle of the store with no signs then they tell you which aisle to go to. By the time you get to the pharmacist to take your paperwork then they ask you a million questions and you have to show proof of insurance. We showed them our Kaiser plus Medicare since I'm over 65. They said they don't see me on Kaiser and then it took around 15 minutes to figure things out. I said even if you can't find Kaiser info, I have Medicare. They are too strict with this insurance verification. I thought even if you don't have insurance you can still get the shot. Other members of my family has gotten their vaccine already and it was easy peasy. Coliseum, moscone center, rite aid and Walgreens in San Mateo. Non had this problem. 40 minutes max including rest time. That's the reason for making the appointment and it defeats the purpose because you have too many people in there. The minute a woman tells people she's pregnant, they start using words like "glowing", "radiant", and "beautiful" to describe her. This happened to me yesterday at work, when I disclosed the Big News. And, while it was nice to hear their praise, I was dubious as to their objectivity given my current state of acne-riddled bloat. Which is where Walgreen's comes in! This store is on my way to and from many places, so I stop often to pick up remedies for any number of ailments and conditions. Yesterday, I bought Slow FE for my ghostly, anemic self. In the past, I've picked up anything from a BPA free water bottle to a chocolate treat for my husband. It's large and well stocked. Staff is scarce if you need a question answered, but you can generally hunt someone down at a register up front. Also, be aware, the pharmacy is almost always jammed with elderly people picking up their many prescriptions, so go later in the day if you need to speak to a pharmacist. read more

Why do I always come back here when the Pharmacy repeatedly messes up my prescription?!?!? No doubt, whenever I come in to pick up a prescription something always - and I mean ALWAYS - goes wrong. For Example: I refilled my prescription online and get a confirmation message saying it is ready for pickup. I go to the store after work and they tell me its not ready because my insurance now covers a different brand. Lovely. Why did I get a confirmation message then? Why didn't anyone call me? Anyway, I call my doctor to call in the prescription for the new brand. They do. The next day, someone at Walgreens calls me and says my prescription is ready. "Which one is it?" I ask. "Um.. its the prescription you requested. " "Yes, but can you please read the name to me. I was just there yesterday so I want to make sure it's the right one." "Ummm... I don't know." "It should say it on there. Is it (insert name here)?" "Hmmm.... oh yes, I think so. Yes that's it." I go. It wasn't it. They made a mistake. Just came back from Walgreens pharmacy in Westlake, Daly City..... Took my wife home this evening from the emergency room at CPMC with 3 prescriptions to be filled. Took the scripts to Walgreens. The pharmacy clerk said she would check if they had the medications in stock and after returning confirmed they did and they would be filled in 20 minutes. I return in 35 minutes and was told they are still working on filling it. I waited another 15 minutes and they called me (Im not upset yet). Another pharmacy clerk obtained the medications and told me they are only partially filled because they do not have enough of two of the medications to fill the entire script. He said he will check with the warehouse and there is an 80% chance they would have it TOMORROW NIGHT. I asked if I could go to another walgreens during the day to obtain the balance and he siad no, I must come to the same pharmacy and if they have it it would not be available until the evening. I told him I would have preferred if they told me they couldnt fill it when i arrived so I could go to another pharmacy and fill it instead of wasting an hour waiting. I didnt understand what took so long when they didnt have enough pills to fill the prescription. He apologized and said there is nothing they can do. I asked what is my wife supposed to do tomorrow morning when I cant get the rest of the medication until tomorrow night? I asked if I could get my prescriptions back so I could go to another pharmacy and he said no, unless I returned the few pills they are providing. I told him I wasted an hour waiting and now I have an ill wife i need to get her medication to rather than waste more time going to another pharmacy. I will go to the store tomorrow during the day and speak with the pharmacy manager and see if they are interested in service recovery before I move my entire family prescriptions to RITE AID! UPDATE: The next day I went to ask for the pharmacy manager, they also told me that they had the rest of the Rx available. We had spoken the the Dr. and gotten another Rx written and went to CVS to get it filled so we no longer needed the remainder of the order. I asked for a refund on the balance of the unfilled portion of the order. They called the manager. After 30 minutes and all other customers gone, the manager had not come and they didnt know how to get me a refund. I asked for the balance of the pills so I could just leave. They told me the manager was coming. I told them I had wasted enough time waiting and I just wanted to leave. After they all mumbled to each other, they gave it to me. I will call the corporate office next to discuss....but we no longer will be using Walgreens, we will be using CVS. read more

A solid 4 stars... One HUGE plus about this location is that it is 24 hours, including the pharmacy. This location is rather large and has everything you could ever want or need from a Walgreens. Now, although I will continuously go to this location seeing as it is conveniently located there are a couple things I have to be critical on. It is old inside and definitely needs some updating but that is just a superficial reason. Their carts need to go! They just simply need new ones. They always seems to stick together. I once spent a good 5 min trying to go through all the carts with a 25 pound baby in hand trying to find a cart that was usable. There was a worker standing almost next to me who saw me struggling one handed and didn't offer to help or look concerned at all. Isn't it your job to help the customers? Anyway, I had to end up asking her myself to help and when we finally did get a cart that I could use I cleaned it off and put my daughter inside just to find out that the safety belt inside the cart was broken. Good grief. I just ended up carrying my baby throughout the store for that trip. On the other hand, another thing I really like about this store is the usual friendly staff and the fluid pharmacy line. They always have at least a couple people working the register in the pharmacy and the line never takes too long. I have been in Walgreens where the pharmacy line takes forever because there is only one lone worker. So overall, nothing terrible about this location... read more

This is the only Walgreens nearby that's open 24/7. It's pretty helpful when I need to grab medicine in the middle of the night and really have no other options available. Things at Walgreens are priced pretty high as usual. When things do go on sale though, boy are you in for a treat. Being a smart shopper is more than just looking at prices but the convenience you get when looking for said discounts. Walgreens is never too crowded when they have sales and they're usually pretty friendly. I've never had to deal with the pharmacy department or photo but the rest of the store is pretty solid. I'd give them a solid four for having private parking available, being open 24/7, having a friendly staff, having a huge selection of items, but minus one for having higher prices than the usual grocery stores. read more
