This is one of the worst pharmacy ever. This place is understaffed. You can be sure to see at least 20 people in line for pickup. What does not help is the technician have to call the pharmacist for each pickup. You can see her waiting and waiting for the pharmacist. And then you have these people trying to argue about one medication. Pharmacists do not write prescriptions. If you want to complain, call your doctor. How hard is that to understand? read more

Boo! Ho ho ho! Boo! Ho ho ho! Like a bad acid trip, this Walgreen's has Halloween and Christmas side by side. You're greeted by motion activated shrieking ghouls and singing XMAS trees. I shouldn't complain. This incongruous mixing of two seasons provided me an interesting distraction while I waited for my prescription to be filled. This Walgreen's is huge! You name it, they seem to have it - myriad pills and potions for every conceivable ailment, cosmetics galore (after all Halloween is right around the corner) and other stuff. Yes, parking is a bit tight, but not so bad if you park across the entrance way. Before I knew it, my wait was over and I was on my way, my own pills and potions in hand. read more

This is the laziest facility for a drugstore I've ever dealt with. Steer clear of this place. Obviously, Walgreens is drying up, they'll being closing stores next. This place is a 3rd world country and the corporate offices of Walgreens are either clueless or don't care! I had a Chinese manager tell me the other day, if I was unhappy with their service, then go somewhere else! TL; DR: Pathetic. From the pharmacy to the cashiers they don't get anything right. Don't come to drop off your prescription here unless you've got half an hour to stand in line because the pharmacy technicians/students/whatever can't figure out what they're doing. Even if you have that half hour, don't expect to get that order serviced in any reasonable amount of time. If by some miracle your prescription is ready for pickup, expect to stand in line for a good thirty more minutes before your turn at the window. By the time you get to the window, expect the pharmacy tech to spend at least ten minutes pulling up your record/searching for your order/telling you that your order is in fact incomplete. I had one cashier ask me "How old are you?" while giving me a doubtful-borderline-scornful look when I was purchasing a non-age restricted item. Seriously? What a violation of my privacy. read more

This store has gone downhill over the years. Before all the Home Depots opened up in Daly City, Walgreens had a really nice alcohol and tobacco section on the left hand side of the store and a pretty decent hardware section (for a drug store anyway). It was so convenient when you needed a pair of needle nosed pliers, a phone cord, and fifth of gin at 1 am. Those days are over though and Kimco (owners of the mall) are now busy attacking the one last thing that made Walgreens convenient, the parking. One used to be able to park virtually right in front of the door any time of day or night. With the mall reconstruction comes construction equipment, fewer parking spaces, and to make matters worse they are adding a DSW Shoes on one side and a TJ Max on the other. I'm afraid this Walgreens deserves a permanent expect delays sign. read more

The absolute worst pharmacy ever. The front desk personnel has to be the rudest, most condescending group of folks that I have EVER encountered in a retail establishment. I'm just a little bit in love with 24hour drug stores in general, Walgreen's more specifically and this location in particular. I wandered on in pretty close to midnight last Saturday night, looking to get M&Ms, paper towels, etc. What I got was canker sore medicine, a plunger, milanos, and I almost got distracted and bought this weird scar-reducing-cream. Just in case I ever need to get rid of scars. Whatever, it was late and it said "satisfaction guaranteed" on the label. Don't judge me. I think they drugged the air vents or something because everyone there seemed to be very seriously comparing black car mats to gray ones, or concentrating on considering the advantages of a zippered cooler to a velcro one. Scary thing is that it all seemed perfectly normal to me at the time. Only a loser would go to 24hour Walgreen's and come out with only condoms and cigarettes anyway. read more

I came to Walgreens to get some insoles for my work boots because I'm on my feet 12 to 14 hours a day. Right before I checked out the cashier Ana helped me out with some coupons and reduced the price of the insoles by almost 10 dollars. She definitely went the extra mile for her customer and it shows. This Walgreens is open 24hrs.The locaton is rather large and they even have a pharmacy in the back. Feeling under the weather at 2am I had to make a dash to the store and found this place to be more useful in regards to what I was looking for at the moment. Prices are decent and staff can be helpful. Parking is not a problem this early in the morning.Just be warned that during the weekend it can be a little tough getting in and out of this parking lot. read more

Walgreens I have been getting my prescription there more than 10yrs now. Instead of getting them easily for those apps n loyalty to you guys.. every month you giving me stress n chest pain. Standing in Long lines for 45 mins and when I get to the front a screw up then get inline in the other line for long time again. Every freaking month. Your Pharmacist should know how since its years already. You want me to pay $600+ dollars for a prescription that Im getting for free because my Dr. gave me a coupon. I did not get my prescription last night bcuz I the staff do not get what I am telling him n the pharmacist went on break as soon as He see's me. @WALGREENS you should do better than this. I have not taken my prescription bcuz of this. When CVS called @walgreens Walgreenswestlake they said "we will get to it when they have a chance". What a way to treat a loyal costumer. I deserved better. I went to CVS. I have been giving you a chance to treat me nicely but you did not change. I went in there today to take advantage of the Senior Discount Day. The lady at the film counter was very helpful, she said she has a little time and can help me ringing up the purchase. I always head to this Walgreens because it always seems to have a sale on things I need. It also keeps in stock with a majority of things that I like/want/need to purchase. I usually head here to pick up a few things for school and my cosmetics. They always have sales on hair products -whether it be shampoo and conditioner or hair sprays. The makeup they have here is almost endless, if you're looking for it, they probably have it here. read more

HORRIBLE customer service, everyone from the Pharmacy to the regular check out cashiers. They all have a stupid attitude like I'm taking time out of their day to buy something. It's called customer service, look it up and if you don't like it, find another job where I don't have to deal with your dumb attitude. You're safe because you're behind a counter. ..... -__- So after that, I just decided to go down there and see if I can handle it in person, even though the reason I called in my prescription refill was because I wanted to save time. When I do get to the pharmacy, there is now a different clerk for the line I'm in, but I'm sure I see the person I was on the phone with. *glare of death!* This clerk follows in the footsteps of the person I was on the phone with, must be a policy to be assholes. Tells me I can only get one months prescription. At this point, I really just don't even want to say anything because once I start, there's no stopping! And I really didn't feel like going to jail that night. Anyways, long story short WESTLAKE WALGREENS PHARMACY SUCKS BALLS! Made (illegal? unauthorized!) changes to my prescription and refill amounts which just throws everything off. Instead of having consistent 3 month refills, I now have a few 3 month refills and some odd amount of 1 month refills. *so angry!! * OK, fast forward, I decide to go a different pharmacy the next time, they say that, first of all Westlake Walgreens messed up and filled a prescription that I never picked up which caused complications when i tried to pick it up from this other Walgreens. Luckily, people at this Walgreens are actually competent and handled it for me AND gave me my 3, count 'em 3 months of drugs. Whoo Hoo! It is rare to encounter incompetence on such a flabbergasting scale, yet this Walgreens is astoundingly incapable. I am right now sweating with the rage of waiting in line for 40 minutes to pick up a prescription which I've refilled here countless times with a copay coupon. Every time, they forget to run the copay coupon which is on file. Every. Time. This time I brought it with me thinking I could avoid the hassle of them having to look it up, but again, I had to move to a different line and wait AGAIN. This time, another customer in front of me had the tech look up the name of a medicine she needed for her mother's eye surgery and THEN call around to 3 different Walgreens to see if it was in stock INSTEAD of telling the lazy woman in line to call around herself because at this point a line was forming behind us at the drop-off counter, nevermind the 15-person line at the pickup counter. Y'all need to fire Susan. In the time it took her to ring up one person, the other tech had handled 4 customers. Every time I come in here, it's the same story with Susan. And y'all need to tell Elenita to tell customers to call other Walgreens themselves when a damn line is forming so that other people who can handle their business in 3 minutes or less don't have to spend literally 50 minutes to pick up a prescription. read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for many years. The pharmacists are great but the LINES are horrible!!! You can stand in a line with 40 people for an hour and then the technician has to have the pharmacist ok the sale, even on refills. I would not go to this pharmacy except that it is one of the few choices for my insurance. They are very, very understaffed. When you call for the information you are directed to an outside company that knows little about what you need. I HATE the new system; they are rude, incompetent and useless for information. On a good point, the store itself is usually well stocked and the staff is polite and accommodating. I give 5* to the pharmacists who are understaffed! I give 2 stars the store, employees, and merchandise. The Walgreens executives need to change this system, not only for the customer but for the pharmacy itself. I only go to Westlakes Walgreen even though there's a 7 minute walking distance store near my home in Daly City. Westlake Plaza is the ish. Sorta not really. I'm just glad they have a credit union atm machine, Ross, trader joes, and Home Depot in the same plaza. lol Anyways, I only go to this Walgreens for the pharmacy so I'm reviewing the pharmacy department. It's better and "faster" than the one on Sane Jose street in DC. Love the Friendly and happy staff; I always or... I think it's just my personality to get them to laugh and smile when I come by. I used to work at a retail (independent) pharmacy in SoCal. I like the team work this Walgreens has with their Pharmacist and other pharmacy techs. So we were in line less than 10 minutes ago and a short senior Philippino lady opened a second register for a second line but she turned away service to two people including me saying that she was going in order of the first line so as I got back in line a man walked up to her line which was not in the order she claimed she was going in and she rang him up with no problem. If your not Philippino don't even expect excellent service or help with anything at all. The price gouging here is ridiculous. I needed a back brace and found that Walgreens carried the one I needed for the same retail price. I found Westlake location had it in stock for $18.79. Same price as Amazon amd some other retailers. I get to the store and it was on the shelf for a whopping $39.99. I pull up the Walgreens site and item and take it to the register. SAME exact item. I ask if she will price match because it is marked up over $21 and is listed for much less online. The employee at register says 'is that the same item?' Well you'd have to be blind to see that YES lady it is. She told me I could buy it online for that price. LOL...so I am IN the store but supposed to buy online for store pickup then wait 2 hours to get it just for that price?! What a joke. I walked out. I will buy elsewhere. Who the hell manages this place?! Maybe train your employees better and stop the price gouging. It wasn't just this back brace, look at most items in this store and you can get it cheaper elsewhere. I drive ALL the way to West Lake to partake in your aisle and aisle of impulse buys! It is a walgreens.. they have a large selection of random items, a really good pharmacy and polite staff. I don't like the new look of Walgreens but eh.....a 24 hour walgreens! 24/7, 365 days a year--definitely cannot give that up. This place has been here forever!!!! I'm talking about FOREEEEEEVVVERRR!!! This Walgreens is one of the biggest in Daly City. Great for picking up necessities when everyone else is closed at 1, 2 or even 3 am. I noticed about 2 months ago they were putting in a coffee station --Walgreens coffee? What? I'm guessing its there now. When I'm here I'm usually picking up things on the right side of the store and rarely walk over to where the photo spot is which is where the coffee is, so I haven't seen what it looks like. The pharmacy here can take quite some time to fill out your prescription. It really depends on if you get there at the right time. Seems to be a lot of people who get their meds here so expect lines at the pharmacy. Other than that, I like to pick up some mini frog gummies and combos from this location. Since it's open 24 hours, friends and I randomly come to read (NOT BUY) magazines. I refuse to pay $4 to find out the latest scoop on Tom+Katie. read more

Pros: -It's open 24 hours -It's in a plaza - so it's easy to find parking at NIGHT -The store is pretty big compared to other walgreens I've been to Cons: -During the day - parking sucks!! There are too many people who come in & out of here & I've seen a lot of people fighting over parking. -Random people standing outside of the store (you can tell some of them are drug users or homeless people or both). -It stinks outside of the store...ugh!
