Great location if I don't want to track all the way to Japantown to pick up any skincare or makeup products. The staff is usually very nice and helpful especially in deciphering some product uses. I visit Candy Doll beauty at least once a month or whenever I need to restock anything skin care related. Location: while other malls are seeing a decline or simply becoming empty facades, Stonestown Galleria is seeing an Asian renaissance. You can find fast casual sushi concept Kura and Hong Kong based massage chair retailer Osim here just to name a few. There are two other cosmetic and skin care based stores; Sephora and Fanoli. Come here for: you'll find Korean brands such as Cosrx, Torridin, Beauty of Joseon, Som by Mi, RoundLab, Anua, Skin 1004, and Axis-y, just to name a few by memory. Certain brands rotate based on trend and certain items do take quite some time to restock. Japanese brands such as Hadilabo and Lululon can also be found here. Makeup, hair care, anime toys, and health products round out the rest of the store itself. Service: the staff is generally friendly and can answer questions when it comes to the products that are carried. Do sign up for their membership rewards program as the more you buy, the more reward dollars you'll earn that can be applied towards future purchases. While this is not an Olive Young by any means, I have found that I do seek out Candy Doll Beauty more for my skin care needs versus visiting Sephora. read more

(For reference I'm am a hispanic person) I've seen other reviews saying that their customer service was bad and targeted towards certain races so I was a bit hesitant to go to the store at first. However, I went to the store the other day and I saw a woman there and she was watching me but not in a targeting manner. Every now and then she would ask if I needed something and if everything was OK. She was calm and when I went to check out, she was very kind and was not very much like the other reviews. One of my happy places. This place is addicting and I can spend allllll day in here. Do not bring your husbands or boyfriends, they will be so angry waiting for you and spoil your happy time. DO NOT come here. I'm honestly unsure if I was being profiled or just judged off the fact that I was casually browsing??? I have no clue but the employees need to seriously do better. I came here on a Monday evening and it was immediately SO uncomfortable. There weren't too many people in the store at first but I noticed that the entire time I was browsing 2 older women were making it VERY clear they were watching me. That's fine. I've worked in retail and I own a business, but the fact that they were so clearly targeting me when there were more people trickling in is very upsetting. I was doing my best to give them the benefit of the doubt and understand where they were coming from, however, this older women with glasses came up to give me a basket for the 2 items I was holding and when I politely declined she made a very rude face towards me. Then she proceeded to talk about it to her coworker like I couldn't understand. Do bette. If that were one of my employees it would be your last day. The thing is, this has happened the last 2 times I've come to this store and I do not appreciate unprofessional behavior. Yes, you have a job to do but no you are not paid to make people uncomfortable when they are there to put money into your business. This is my first Yelp review, and I would like to say candy doll beauty is a lovely K-pop and animation toys store. They have all the Korean and Japanese popular skin care in the store, and I found out they have axis y serum too! I went to the store on June 12th, and I witnessed an incident where a crazy customer displayed impolite behavior towards the workers. "Karen" yelled and said the B-word to the workers. Throughout the interaction, the customer frequently raised her voice, used derogatory language, and belittled the workers. At the end of the conversation, I saw that the employees did NOTHING wrong, but the crazy woman said she would write a bad review on Yelp. (IDK WHAT IS THE POINT OF DOING THIS TO THE LOVELY STORE) I hope the girls didn't get traumatic by the "karen", and maybe the girls should call security to ask the crazy woman to step out of the store next time. Overall, the lovely store deserves a good review! Horrible customer service. They do not even respect their own policies, which are clearly listed on the receipt that they give you. I went in to exchange an unused item because I had bought the wrong thing, but they gave a fake reason of there being "fingerprints" on an unopened item. They stretch out their necks like giraffes when they see people who are not white or East Asian walk into the store. Do not come here at any cost, it is such a horrible experience. Don't dare to come over to this store. The store is unorganized. The tester are always empty. The customer service is BAD. Once you leave the store, you make sure that you have the correct product otherwise it's impossible to get a refund or exchange under any circumstances. I was looking for a toner and moisturizer and I found this $58 each sekkisei skin product and so I bought the toner and moisturizer. They gave me the wrong box which I did not realize. So, I came home ready to use it and as I opened the product, I realized that they gave me both toner. I came back to the store within 4 days and tried to exchange it with the moisturizer and they refused and said they cannot accept open package as they cannot resell it. I have explained the situation which is not even my fault from the first place but they still refused to exchange it. They don't care if you have been a loyal customer for them. I have been buying lots of skin care products from them for many years and never returned anything and yet they cannot even take accountability for their own mistake. read more

As soon as you walk in the lady will stretch her neck as far as she can just to analyze you. It didn't happen just once she will literally stand in an aisle just to watch me from the corner of her eye. I noticed that she watches everyone extremely closely in the store too, like damn if you're that paranoid stay home... stress is not good for you. It's extremely disrespectful to assume anyone of theft, but especially me since I work at the same mall. Every time I go there i'm being supervised and it's frustrating and uncomfortable because you would assume they would be able to recognize that I've never stolen from them. I ordered 5 bottle of shower gel from their website since they didn't have enough in store, UPS shows the package was left at front door but I didn't see anything, I contacted them through email, website inquiry form, phone/text, finally someone replied via text a few days later and said the package was delivered, you need to talk to UPS and file a claim, we can't help you. I agree with the first reviewer the ladies here are very wary when i've come in to look/buy the last two times. The cashier gave me a strange look as i was paying looking me straight in the eyes as if waiting for me to confess to a crime or something. she seemed irritated. I had barely been 5 minutes in the store because another lady asked straight away if i needed help with something. After i said no she proceeded to stay in the same aisle as me pretending to clean things up. They tried to convince me that it was the production date, but when i googled the same product with the product info..i was right that i was reading the expiration date. Went to ring up and it was $28. They insisted on charging me $28 The associate and I went back to the display where I showed her the only sticker price for the various boxes there. She peeled off the sticker price and grabbed the other varieties of boxes there. She rang up the sticker and the other boxes. The description was exactly the same as the box I wanted to purchase. The other boxes were not the same description as the sticker. I asked her to honor the price displayed. But she refused. So I told her I won't be buying the box, and the other items I was planning to purchase. It's tricky buying things that do not have price tags. Wonderful place for getting skin care routine! I've been a customer for as long as this place been there , right after yes style got closed. I was mostly purchasing there shampoons and conditioners, but after I've been starting to notice wrinkles I went there to purchase face skin products. Lady that been working there for a long time is very helpful (sorry don't know her name) . I've been having dry skin all of my life and was happy about it since I never had acne and other skin issues, but after turning 29 started to notice wrinkles . I went to candy shop and asked the lady for the help and the products that she recommended me were very helpful. The girls here are amazing and very helpful. If you come in with a certain skin concern they can direct you to the right products and they aren't pushy. Also the store manager is sooo kind, ever since I started shopping here when they first opened the manager has always been soo nice and helpful. Which is why I'm loyal to this store and keep coming back to support them versus buying online (I prefer instant gratification). This store and location have the best customer service in the entire Bay Area.
