Long line of people, up halfway through the store.

The pharmacy hours have since changed back but regardless of the the time, there are always long lines.

9:43 in the morning at Walgreens Daly City and again a full line!

Pharmacy sucks! It takes 60minutes to get flu shots since no one knows how to work their system.

I showed her a few photos of the style I wanted, and she immediately understood the vision. The result turned out even better than I imagined. I really appreciated how well she listened and how comfortable she made me feel. I knew I could trust her with my hair. It even got the husband stamp of approval, haha. Highly recommend Dorie!

I just want to share my experience, especially for anyone with really long, thick hair like I had. I came in on my birthday and spent $555 before tip, so this was honestly really disappointing. I came in with previously colored dark brown hair and explained that I wanted my overall color lighter, more of a chocolate brown. She initially suggested highlights over my dark base, but I told her that wasn't what I wanted. I didn't want dark hair with highlights; I wanted my overall color lighter. She said she could micro highlight my whole head to lift everything, but once she realized how much hair I had, she said it would take a really long time and hurt her wrist because I had so much hair. She said she would "see what she could do" instead. My hair ended up being colored and washed THREE separate times. Color, wash, color, wash, color, wash. By then my scalp was BURNING. She was also extremely rough combing through my hair. The comb kept scraping my already-burning scalp, and when she hit tangles she brushed through them so hard I literally had to hold my head/neck still or my head would get pulled backwards. I kept thinking there was no way this wasn't causing breakage. After all that processing, I was also surprised there wasn't some type of hydrating mask or treatment afterward. Then there's the color. My roots came out significantly lighter and warmer than the rest of my hair, with darker patches/bands where my hair didn't lift evenly. In certain areas it almost looks like a skunk stripe. I completely understand that I came in with previously colored dark brown hair. I know old color can be stubborn and she may not have been able to get my whole head to the chocolate brown I wanted in one appointment. I'm not upset about that. What I don't understand is seeing my roots becoming significantly lighter than everything else and still letting me leave like that. If my lengths weren't going to lift enough, I would've rather been told, or at least had my roots darkened so everything blended better. I've been getting my hair professionally colored for years. I've paid much more at other salons and significantly less, and I have never walked out with my hair looking like this. I've never had my roots this much lighter than the rest of my hair. It's noticeable and honestly embarrassing. She suggested I come back about a week later for highlights, but at that point I didn't feel comfortable putting my hair/scalp through anything else. Highlights over a darker base also weren't what I originally wanted. Then the haircut. I specifically asked for a "whisper of a trim" because I had just gotten my hair trimmed and layered about a month before. I did NOT want it short. Instead, she basically cut off my ends with thinning scissors and took off what felt like almost six inches. She left my existing layers and didn't add any shape or blend everything with the new length, so my hair looked like a thick broom at the bottom with my old layers sitting above it. I don't understand how a "whisper of a trim" turned into losing that much length. Towards the end, I could tell she was rushing because her next client was there. I asked about my blowout, and she quickly rough dried my hair with a Dyson and went through it with an Airwrap. The whole styling portion was under 10 minutes with no real direction--no smoothing, shaping, sectioning/pinning or round brush work. My hair was still frizzy and didn't look finished. I own an Airwrap myself and honestly could've done the same thing at home. Later that night I looked at my receipt and realized she charged me an additional $75 for a "blowout service." I was shocked. When I pay for a professional blowout, I expect actual smoothing/styling with a round brush, working through sections and pinning when needed--not an under-10-minute Airwrap style while rushing to the next client. Since the appointment, my hair has felt extremely dry and damaged and my scalp has been flaking like crazy. I have photos showing the uneven color/banding, dryness, and my flaky, irritated scalp afterward. The flaking was coming off in chunks and was honestly embarrassing. I wasn't expecting perfection or to magically get my dream color in one appointment. But I have never walked out of a salon this unhappy with my color, cut, the condition of my hair AND the styling. And on my birthday of all days Again, I'm not naming the stylist because I'm not trying to personally attack anyone. I'm just sharing what happened to me. If you have really long, really thick hair and are considering a major color change here, I personally would go somewhere else. I really wish I did.

I couldn't even sleep because it was so itchy, painful, and stinging all over my face and neck. Got misdiagnosed by another dermatologist and I came for a second opinion. He checked my skin with a bright light and confirmed it was a bacterial infection. Seriously thought I wouldn't ever recover... Dr. Oliver is so patient and answered all my questions. He even told me to not worry about my skin. Just take the med/ointments as he said and relax, leave the worrying to him because that's what he does. Within 2 days of taking the oral med, my swelling was all gone. After 4 days of both oral and tropical med, the redness on my face was gone! Seeing a specialist always worries me because they can get very expensive but I am SO THANKFUL that I found Dr. Oliver. His pricing was very reasonable as I pay out of pocket and his office visit price covered the ointments/oral med he prescribed for me. Really appreciate that. I actually just visited Dr. Oliver for a follow up appointment today. Again, he was super patient and answered everything I asked!! Did not feel rushed at all. Was hoping he clears me from the prescribed meds but he suggests to continue for another week just to make sure everything is cleared completely. Still dealing with some lingering dryness and tightness. Hope that go away soon. Cassandra the receptionist was super sweet and helpful as well! They offer water or tea while you wait. If you are dealing with a skin issue, I highly recommend Dr. Oliver and his team.

I'd expected a more typical salon, but I was delighted to find that the entire first floor is dedicated to imported Asian beauty products. In the couple minutes before my appointment, I was finally able to test the Biore Water Essence 50+ SPF I've been wanting to try for a while (I bought it). Right at my appointment time, I was led upstairs and the attendant made sure I had a second to use the restroom (the perm would take about 40 mins). So I went to the bathroom and changed into my glasses, then went into a semi-private room where the attendant laid me down on a futon-like bed (and even gave me a comforter!) She applied this little plastic contraption to each of my eyes, applied the perm solution, and left me to sit for about 20 mins with some fun and relaxing music in the background. Then she came back, removed the first contraption, applied a little eyelash serum, put another contraption on my eye, then some more perm solution and left me for another 20 minutes. In those 40 minutes, I got two quick naps in and also got some REALLY curled eyelashes. The only thing that could have been cool was if they had a tint to make my eyelashes darker -- kill two birds with one stone, ya know? This seems to be a typical service at other eyelash perm places I've looked at. However, I also know that the way they do your lashes at Dazzling is a little different so it's possible that the mechanism they're using wouldn't support a dye, too. I'll definitely be back (I got the 2-pack Groupon), and next time I'll be staying to try out a couple more products! The only con: a little hard to find. My GPS took me to the wrong shopping center. Wondering if they were potentially at a different location before? But using the actual street address instead of searching for Dazzling in Google Maps fixed that problem and it was only a 2 minute walk away!

However, this particular branch took it to another level. From the moment I walked in, an employee appeared to leave the area behind the register and follow me throughout the entire store until I left. On another occasion, I came in with a friend, and the employee clearly saw us enter together. I was helping my friend browse and even picking up products to show her, yet the employee continued to watch me closely. At one point, I waited outside while my friend continued shopping, and the employee still stared at me as I waited. The experience made me feel singled out and unwelcome, and after that, I've decided not to shop there anymore. I can't help but wonder how many other Black customers have had similar experiences but simply haven't had the time or energy to speak up about them publicly. The store has some cute things, but unfortunately, I won't be supporting the business. If you are concerned about theft, there are more appropriate ways to handle it--such as relying on mall security and having proper loss-prevention procedures--rather than having employees follow customers around the store. It's also concerning because situations like this can easily escalate. Employees should be trained to handle suspected shoplifting professionally and safely rather than taking matters into their own hands. Good customer service should make people feel welcome, not watched or profiled. I hope management takes these experiences seriously and provides better training so that all customers are treated with the same level of respect (reposted on Google for more awareness of their racial profiling)
