I have switched to Rite Aid.... The only reason I came back today is for the pharmacy drive through. However after waiting for over 45 minutes in the car line I remembered why we switched. I read the other reviews, but had to find out myself. I had a prescription for 180 pills, and the first night they only had 10 of them. So I said I will give you my address, my phone number, my email and I will put these 10 on my credit card so that when the other 170 come in you can mail them to me. Is that all right? They said sure yeah no problem. I just moved here from Northern California, and Walgreens would do that all the time it wasn't a problem. Well it was a huge problem here and I have never had such terrible pharmacy service. They just lie to you! After a few days I called to find out whether it was in stock and after waiting 35 minutes for someone to answer the phone (it varies from music and then it rings and rings and rings and rings and then you go back to music), someone finally answered from the pharmacy and they found out what I was looking for and said we have it in stock you can pick it up. I said no the arrangement I made and the reason I came in and paid for $20 worth on my credit card was that they would mail it to me! They said OK we have to put you on hold for someone else and before I could get a word out I was on hold for another 20 minutes. And then I got someone who said she would mail them to me immediately; no problem. So I thought great. Well another five to six days go by, and I get a text from Walgreens saying your prescription is ready to be picked up. I called again, again I wait 30 to 40 minutes with the music and the nonstop ringing phone and again I am transferred to someone in the shipping department. She tells me she can't find any record that anyone ever agreed to mail it, but she will do it right now, right then. And I said are you sure you are doing it, please don't just tell me you're doing it if you're not going to. And she said I am doing it right now. So I thought well great that was kind of a hassle but great it's being mailed to me now. Ha ha ha the jokes on me. After another five or six days I get a text from the pharmacy saying if you don't pick up your prescription within the next few days it will be returned to stock and you'll have to re-order it! I attempted to call again but after being on hold for 30 minutes I just drove down there and tried to pick it up via the drive-through. At the drive through they said oh it's been returned to stock. Arrrgggg I told them that I was promised twice it would be shipped to me. I don't know why people just lie to customers? If you don't want to ship it just say we're not going to ship it- it was craziness. They said well drive around a couple times and in 30 minutes we will fill it again. So I drove around once, parked my car, and did some deep breathing and meditation. Then I got back in a long line again and was able to pick it up. But when I asked to speak to the pharmacist and said what happened she said oh I don't know things happen. And I said is that the best you've got? Things happen? I was promised twice it was being mailed to me; why say that if it's not happening? She brushed me off, she wasn't interested in hearing any feedback, so I am 100% done, done, done with that store. I am shocked at the level of passive-aggressive incompetence and outright fraud. read more

currently here been waiting 1.5 hours and no end in sight. everyone here is sitting and waiting and getting frustrated and the people behind the counter seem unsure what status things are at and how long things will take. the also did not even start my prescription until i arrived at the store. I respect what it takes to be a pharmacist and im sure they are very intelligent but they need more training on the system and efficiency. I came here to buy soda. They had a sale on the soda 12 packs, which are by the entry and exit doors. I came in at about 10:15pm, so they had already locked the exit door, and put 3 carts between the entry and exit areas, which I've assumed was just meant as a preventative measure to prevent someone from trying to run out of the store with a full cart without having to go directly in front of the cashiers. I also didn't initially see any other carts or any signs about touching carts or not walking anywhere. I walked around then came back up front and asked the cashier if the cokes and sprites by the front were part of the soda sale since the sign only said cokes. He said yes it includes everything. So I said ok, I am going to get six packs and I'll need a cart, he said go ahead, so I walked towards the exit area where the cokes were, saw the three carts put together, and didn't see any other carts. I didn't think it was a big deal, and there was no signage up saying not to touch the carts, so I slid in between them from the entryway towards the locked exit since there was space, and then grabbed one of the carts, since I was going to need it for the six 12 packs of cokes as a paying customer. Suddenly I hear a loud "hey!" From behind me, and I turned around and saw their store security guard, who looked high off his ass, red-eyed and angry, glaring at me. Before I could say anything or ask what's going on, he started raising his voice at me, and said, "WHAT gives you the right to touch these carts? " He paused as if he wanted an answer so I said, "umm, I thought I had the right to use a shopping cart because I am a customer so I was going to use this cart to buy this soda." He angrily said in a threatening manner, "No! You ain't got no right to go between these carts! You know we put those here for a reason (I do not, and there is no signage). It's late, the exit is locked (irrelevant to any argument). You don't touch those carts (again, maybe if there was a sign or something...). And you need to walk all the way around here and get a cart over there if you need to get to that soda. You can't just walk through there (even though customers walk through there all the time)." Like, he was really pissed off about it, I mean, like I get it, its walgreens at night, you have to deal with crackheads sometimes, but I felt harassed and intimidated for no reason, and I think the security guard was on drugs. I was just trying to buy some soda. There was no signage saying not to touch or walk by the carts. He looked scary, so I didn't want to piss him off since he was the security guard, theres nobody to stop him from whatever violence he was trying to instigate. I asked him, "so now what? You want me to go all the way back around, get a different cart, bring it all the way back around to get this same soda that I just was about to put into this cart??" He said, "Don't make me throw you out the store!" I mean, seriously?!?! Like you could have just said yes. You could have just been chill about it. I said, "ok fine I will put this cart back and walk all the way around". So I put the cart back. It got stuck while putting it back so I had to push on it to get it to click with the other carts. Then I walked all the way around, and I heard him mumbling while I walked by, "keep up that attitude and I'm gonna throw you out the store." I honestly just feel sorry for the security guard at this point because he obviously is a bully and has some major insecurities he's dealing with, but that's no way to treat a customer. The cashier was professional, I apologized to the cashier, who said it wasn't a problem and a simple misunderstanding. I bought my soda and thanked the cashier for the transaction. Then I heard the security guard, I think his name was Capt. Papone or something similar, threaten again, "I'll throw you out of the store!" Like he really wanted to start a fight or something, or just needed someone to bully. Anyway, it's sad. I don't plan to go back to this location regardless of any soda sales or anything else I might need because of the unprofessional bullying from this security guard. read more

Same experience with the pharmacy. TERRIBLE. Rude workers, cancelled appointments, total disorganization and never an apology or attempt to make it right. Just, "come back another time, ma'am, I told you we're closed!" This is at the supposedly "open 24/7" Walgreens! What a total joke. Worst pharmacy ever I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with! Website pickup status isn't current. Was given 3 pickup dates and times and they failed to meet any of them! When I came in the pickup my order, 5 people were working yet only one of three windows were open. The fellow in front of me said he had been in line for an hour. I started the process for my RX 3 weeks before I needed it. I am diabetic and had to switch Insurance which made me switch pharmacies. 16 phone calls and 8 visits to the store....they said my RX would be ready after 11 am. Went in at 6 pm waited an hour for them to tell me it would be over a week before they would get it in because they have to order it.... Left, went to CVS had my RX in hand in 10 minutes. I will NEVER GO BACK TO WALGREENS ON SECOND STREET IN EL CAJON. They were rude, delayed and didn't care one bit. read more

This building (can't even call it a business) is terrible in every aspect. Customer service is awful as well as the maintenance and upkeep. I also asked Muhammad (the store manager) to use the restroom while the line to pick up my prescription was ridiculously long, and he said the bathrooms are closed because the already took the trash out. To whom it may concern; We're extremely disappointed to say that this has to be the WORST Walgreens store ever! My husband and I went in today, May 31, 2021 in the morning around 11AM. We were seeking to stock up on our favorite Arizona Ice tea's that were 2 X.99! We ended up both getting two carts of 28 cans each as you must buy in multiples of 2 to get the sale. We get to the counter and the sales lady, which was an older lady, mid height, with a ponytail / gray hair, makes a disgusted face and looks at our carts! She doesn't acknowledge us but tells another lady! Oh my God look at their cats, and points to our carts! She didn't even acknowledge or greeted us? They just called the manager. I asked the mans position which he he stated that he was the "store lead" I asked his name, and wrok it on a piece of paper stating that it was JAKE! He repeated that out of 2 FULL carts, he would only let us buy five (5) cans total, which I reminded him that you have to buy in multiples of 2s in order to get the special rate. So he then stared ((6)). I was in awe. I though I heard wrong, and asked six of each flavor?? He said NO...6 cans total! still in shock, I asked...for us BOTH?? He stated firmly yes! Any great or should I say; seasoned manager would' have tried to meet the customer halfway to keep a satisfied customer as well as make $$$ revenue for the store. This simply baffles me... this site which is located ((215 north second street El Cajon ca 92021)) management did NOT even try to do that or anything? So highly upset/ dissatisfied, we ended up leaving the store with zero -00 buys, as well as wasting gasoline! I went it the other day for same day photos. The woman helping me Couldnt sign in to her register so she walked away to get some card, but didnt say a word to me before she did it. So I was confused. I was given the wrong photos when I finally did get some help. When I went back in, another woman was there and she helped me get the right photos, but NOT before she rand up some chips for her coworker that was going on a break. So she stopped completely in the middle of helping me, to ring up some damn food for a coworker, didnt know that was okay to do. I feel like race was played on this whole situation. I love Walgreens for a few reasons but this store is horrible. After you make your way past the dozen or so vagrants sleeping on-the walkway and in the landscaping you have to hold your nose because of the stench of urine in some areas. The store it's self is fine, but the pharmacy has gotten bad, real bad. They constantly call for me to pick up RX but when I arrive it's not done or not there? Where did it go. And then recently they switched out an RX saying it was just a different manufacturer. I did some research and found out it wasn't even the right RX a totally different med all together. Great pharmacy staff but bad management in the pharmacy and photo. I have waited for 2 hours for my prescription but nothing was done last Monday. No managers will come to help me with photo or the locked products. Trouble getting into the bathroom. Too many homeless people around and in that building. Just a huge mess. This location seems to have an inordinate amount if items that have no price listed, no auto price check kiosk, and you have to wait in line to find out the price. This is THE WORST WALGREENS I have EVER been to! And I have been to countless stores all the way from Florida, to Illinois, Nevada, you name it! I usually have the best service at any Walgreens I step in to, but this one in El Cajon, has unfortunately gotten me absolutely disgusted with how it's ran. The pharmacy lines are ALWAYS a wait, count on losing atleast 15min of time(and gas if your in the drive-thru) Last month I went for my monthly prescription [mind you I ordered from the app atleast 24hrs prior] (for birth control) that I've been on for over two years, only to find out after I drove home, that they gave me A WHOLE DIFFERENT PRESCRIPTION!!!! Talk about being LIVID! I ordered ONE-HOUR photos, (16 pics) went to pick them up about 2 hours later...and no one is at the counter. A few minutes later a lady arrives and I tell her my last name; she looks in the drawers and don't see my order, then walks to the computer and sees that my order is still on their screen! Then the young lady goes to tell me and my S.O. how "clearly no one has been there to keep up on their work, and to look at the mess of piled photos that are covering the back table." She said give her about 10min to complete my order seeing as it was so small, and then tells us about all how the employees there have had cars broken into, and told us it's because they don't have security cameras on that side of the building.... I could go on and on. But the fact that I've been writing this review while ON THE PHONE ON HOLD WITH WALGREENS PHARMACY FOR OVER 15min is ENOUGH! FYI - pictures are of how long I was on hold, and how long my call ended up taking. All because they messed up and didn't fill my prescription AGAIN!!! 2 months in a row! You will be forced to come three times, first for 1.5 hours, then after 1 hour and it is not certain that your medicines will be ready for the third time when you come. Terrible store. Pharmacy- has gone significantly downhill in the past few months. They don't answer the phone, the wait at the drive-through is like 30-40 minutes sometimes. The pharmacy techs are not knowledgeable. The prescriptions are always either delayed or out of stock. They send you a text saying a prescription is ready and when you go there and wait 30 minutes in line it is not ready. They tell you to come back in an hour. The location does not feel safe with homeless and drug users all around. Seriously I am sending all my prescriptions to Rite Aid. read more

Open 24/7.... if you're lucky :) unfortunately I've found myself unlucky for about the 4th time now and I just need to make others aware at this store's inability to abide by its posted hours. Two workers are outside and state that they are closed but we are "more than welcome to place a curbside order and they'll go grab what we need for us." Super annoying but I only needed one thing so I figured since I was already there, I might as well. Except curbside orders need to be a minimum of $10 to place the order and my item was under $3. There was no sense in adding random items in my cart just to simply meet that requirement so I left. It was also very late in the night so I didn't have the ability to just go to another store instead. Silly me for thinking a 24 hour store would be open 24 hours. Obviously things happen and stores may need to close during emergency situations or other unforeseen circumstances but the fact that this is definitely not the first time I've experienced this shows that it is a pretty frequent occurrence. Aside from my experience, I think the overwhelming amount of one star ratings for this location speaks for itself. read more

Do not buy your prescriptions from this walgreens. I've never experienced more caustic attitudes from a pharmacy. I provided them a good rx coupon which placed my med at 16 dollars. They charged me 60 , without my knowledge, and informed me , upon reviewing my receipt , that there was nothing they could do to override the price recommending I call good rx. I called good rx who in turn called walgreens to discuss the impass. The price was then corrected and I was welcomed back to purchase the medication for 16 dollars. It was at that time informed the pharmacy rep that I located the medication price at Albertsons for 11 and would appreciate her overriding the price, as a courtesy for my troubles and hours spent addressing their system issues, and she said that I could come in and that a manager would approve it. I came in to the store and the pharmacy manager was extremely rude and yelled at me that he was never giving me this price again. I was so taken back by his actions and he was the manager ! I informed him I would never return to his shop in the future. Later that day , now about two weeks ago, I called their store manager , Lance, and informed him of my experience offering him an opportunity to investigate the transaction and resolve my concerns. He did not apologize but did take my phone number and assured me that be would look into it and call me back. As you can probably expect I never heard back from Lance or any other representative. This location should be ashamed of themselves and stealing money. I can imagine a majority of their clientele are seniors and I have no doubt that they take advantage of them on a daily basis. I'm disappointed in you and expect better. read more

We went in to get some pics made for my dads celebration of life that is in a couple of days. The store we placed the order with before, machine didn't work so I was worried we wouldn't get them done in time. Mahmuud was the clerk that helped us through the entire process. He took the time to work on this delicate situation for us. The photos were done right there on the spot and they came out beautiful. The quality of the photos as well as the customer service was impeccable. I will be using this Walgreens from now on. read more

This pharmacy has the rudest employees. I went to pick up pain medication for my sister who has throat cancer. After waiting in a half hour long line, I got to the counter, told them the details and I laid my sisters Molina Card, her ID and her Medi-Cal card down on the counter. The kid looks at the cards and says "oh I'm sorry, we don't accept Molina". Then he says, "I could have billed Medi-Cal directly if you hadn't put the Molina card down". So I swiped it off the counter really fast and said "There, does that fix it?" and he said "Nope, because I already saw it." I got pissed off and stormed out of the store. It's an awful store. This place is a nightmare. Every month I get the same prescriptions and every month they put holds on them. Today had to be the worst day. I had a prescription called in from my doctor 2 days ago and of course Walgreens says that the prescription was delayed and they're working on it. I finally called today and they give me the runaround from 11:30 until I give up at 6:30. I sent a message to my doctor to send this prescription to a different Pharmacy hoping that I'll have better luck because having to fight every month because of the absolute incompetence of this crappy Walgreens. I have even had to call my insurance company so that my insurance company can give Walgreens an override code so that I can fill my prescription. They are lazy very competent they're rude and I'm done with it. So if this next Pharmacy is anything better than what's happening now at Walgreens I'll be switching all my prescriptions there but unfortunately I have literally had no luck with pharmacies.
