Since Rite Aid closed, and Walgreens has taken over their prescriptions, their customer service for filling prescriptions has been a problem, slow, mismanaged and partial orders are being filled. Let me start by saying that I don't take loyalty lightly when I like a company or respect the company I should say I can be known to let some things slide. With saying that... I loved Walgreens when my husband was going through a fib. The first time I could've lost my mind totally but they had a pharmacist assistant named Kevin who I will always love. Kevin helped me and my family while I went through chemo and radiation for stage 4 1/2 cervical cancer. He always kept us in the loop. Meaning he would let us know if we should order something early or if we can get it for cheaper just a Fort Knox worth of information. In my opinion. I grew fond of the two female pharmacist they have Working there now they were very nice and helpful. Then corporate, Walgreens decided to take on more than their pharmacist could chew... some numbskull in corporate decided to take on Rite Aid's customers since Rite Aid closed when they were having difficulty keeping up with the prescriptions they already had. And now I can't even stomach the thought of ever having to go through the doors of the Walgreens again for over a year almost every single time I've called the pharmacy. It does not matter which time of the day or night of course when they're open, I have to wait on hold a minimum of 30 minutes on hold and in the last eight or nine months three of those times when they went to answer the phone I got hung up on. So I had to call back and be on hold for another 30 minutes before I was able to talk to them. According to them, their phone management company is lacking because it's their fault (the phone management company )that they've been hanging up on me. So fast-forward to today after being upset because I was told that again which for the last couple years almost every month, they send me a text saying that the prescription should be filled in two days but by the time the two days are up. I get another text saying that it's delayed because they ran out and they have ordered more. This is gone on every single month for at least two years. It has not gone unnoticed on their end because I have pointed it out to them a few times. My husband and I have been married for over 25 years and I'm a little protective of him with saying that it's his Mojarro for diabetes not for weight loss. It's for his diabetes. It's life or death and they mess with him every single month and make it late. We've tried changing when we requested. We've tried everything that we could think of and they still screw him every single month. I am starting to feel like they don't care. That's a problem with me if they don't care about their customers than screw them. Ever since Kevin left there they have totally sucked at customer service. So again today after the 30 minute being on hold, I decided to call back and ask for the store manager instead of the pharmacy. After being on hold some more time they get to the manager and mind you I'm pretty upset. I've already been hung up on and I am dealing with the same delay crap that I do every single month Because they don't know how to order their pharmaceuticals correctly apparently... as I start telling the manager that I'm sorry I'm not upset at her. She hangs up on me. So now I am upset at her. #1. If she didn't intentionally hang up on me, then she sucks at her job she should make sure there phone lines work in the last eight or nine months. I've gotten hung up on three times after being on hold for 30 minutes and I was on hold for 30 minutes because I had to call them up and find out why they were delaying the medicine that they told me they would have ready. So what I'm saying is... that ignorant something something manager can't get the phone lines fixed in eight or nine months or more than maybe she needs to get another job. And #2. If she was just hanging up on me on purpose, then she's just a piece of crap. I was rightfully upset, and if she was so offended by the couple curse words that fell out of my mouth then she must've been one of those kids that got a trophy just for participating. I'm just saying her fragile little ears maybe should go for a different job like in Trump's administration. So I am totally disgusted with Walgreens and will be moving my prescriptions elsewhere. I have zero faith in that company. They just don't care about their customers. All they want is more money more money more money. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. Their pharmacy has no customer service and are super rude. Tried giving them multiple chances and that Arabic lady provided some of the worst Customer service I've ever experienced. I dealt with this lady multiple times and she was downright rude every single time. Working in a pharmacy, people are calling for help. They are sick or in pain or calling on behalf of a loved one who needs medication, and this woman outright told me that I was wasting her time when I was trying to call for help after 3 days of trying to get assistance from them. I even tried asking for a supervisor on the call twice in the initial phone call and got declined. When I tried to discuss it with. Supervisor later on, she was dismissive, disrespectful, and also lacked proper customer service. After 12 years going to this pharmacy, I refuse to go to Walgreens again. read more

In addition to above, it turns out the cash price of a medication I needed (and had gone past what my insurance allows) was $270. A local pharmacy not too far away sold me the prescription for $11.25. Apparently Walgreens is perfectly content massively overcharging people for their medications. Every month I wait forever for my prescription. The app tells me it is ready for pickup but when I get there it is either not ready or out of stock. Also they can't figure out what price to charge me. It takes three trips to the store to get this corrected, just to do it over again next month. I find the pharmacy is horrible. I am a cancer patient, fighting stage 4 in my liver. Trying to get my pain medication filled there was extremely awful! After being made to feel like a junkie, I was told that they don't take my insurance, and when I asked how much it would cost out of pocket, it was way more then I could afford. Bilal is a horrible at customer service and as being a pharmacist. I will be reporting him to the pharmacy board as well. Reading through these reviews, it seems he is a big problem. He threatened to cancel my 7 year old's antibiotic prescription. We had waited over two hours and it still wasn't ready. He said he needed confirmation by the Dr that it was the correct dose. My children are in the 99% for weight and height, we go through this every time with Walgreens. Usually we go to Santee Scripps. However on a Sunday we unfortunately had to do Walgreens since the pharmacy was closed at Santee. Bilal said the prescription was ready. We came to get the medications and the antibiotics were not ready and he would not release them until he talked to the urgent care Dr. the urgent care Dr called him but bilal did not come to the phone. It was a very weird and UNETHICAL power move. We called the Dr again and stayed on hold. Finally getting the medication and Bilal releasing it but WOW! This guy seems like a legal problem for Walgreens and overall a bad person. read more

There were many missing tooth brushes in some of the slots, but I found what I liked, the Oral B Brand. They happen to have a two pack on sale for $5.99. After grabbing the toothbrushes, I browsed a bit and found a 6 pack of Zest soup on sale so I bought that too. The young lady at the counter was very cool. My son went into the Walgreens to purchase items by UBER and needed to Uber back home while he was standing outside for his Uber an employee named Dewey came outside and ask him why was he standing outside as if he was littering he was literally waiting for his Uber to come. He told him he was waiting for us Uber and he told him that he can't stand outside because he gets off the impression that others can stand outside. My son who is a 23 year old African-American very well dressed and respectful gentleman politely told him he had every right to be outside because he was waiting for his ride to pick up and he wasn't loitering. He wasn't homeless, and there was no reason for him to come outside and harass him. I proceeded to call the manager and tell him of the experience my son had the manager name Lance basically told me no my son was in the wrong and he cannot hang out. He said that he will talk to Dewey however people cannot stand outside of the store, no matter what the reason is, so I'm writing this yelp to let you know I don't know if it was racially motivated or if they're just rude and stupid, but I don't like the experience my son had and I wanted to share it. read more

Pharmacy experience was confusing and frustrating . I just moved to lakeside and also switched health insurances and told the pharmacist I'm waiting for my new doctor to see me in person (2weeks) so he can then send a prescription request to the pharmacy for my medication that Ive been on for years (high blood pressure meds and antidepressants). Well i called this very same Walgreens and the girl on the phone told me go ahead come on in and we will get you these medications a 3 day emergency refill . Just be sure to bring your bottles . Ok perfect . Well I went in to get an emergency 3 day supply the next day and the female pharmacist doctor , (I think she was maybe Asian) that was there today March19th at 3:30pm, told me she can only give me a 2 day supply and only on the blood pressure meds. I asked why and she said because you haven't been refilling your prescriptions with Walgreens. I explained like a little over a year ago I moved to jamul and there was no Walgreens near by, but before that I was with Walgreens refilling prescriptions for yearsss, and that now I moved to lakeside and that I'll be refilling with them now and that It be convenient and make more sense if she cut me a break and gave me the three on both specially since I'm running late for work . And she said no that I need to drive to the old pharmacy I got the prescriptions at (I was holding my prescription bottles from cvs in jamul) and that I was to ask them for a 3 day supply if I wanted both meds or wait until my original doctor calls back. . I explained again that I'm not seeing the same doctor that i have to wait until I see a new one but that it be more convenient if i get it from here since I'm here already, I stopped myself and Instead of arguing with her I then said fine just give me the two pills then . she gave me the 2 pills & proceeded to tell me that she experiences similar issues and is on the same high blood pressure medication as me and understands. so I then suggested that since she knows what it's to have high blood pressure why not cut me a break? I get I can go to another pharmacy but I'm already here and I'm running late for work. She just kept saying go to urgent care . I just walked away cuz I'm not trynna argue or upset myself or anyone else . I guess what im having a hard time accepting is that it was something so so simple that she could have really helped me with but instead she decided to make it complicated for me for no real reason. I've never had a problem having a 3 day supply refill, that and i called and checked with them over the phone if it be a problem so I could avoid this and they said "there's no problem, come on in we will refill those for you, just bring your bottles" I was with Walgreens for 10+ years before this past year. does that count for nothing ? It shocks me that the employees are so rude in this store. I asked for night lights & the heavy set clerk blatantly lied. Instead informed me she closes in 10 minutes. I go here specifically for anything photo related. The customer service is always good, but today I felt that it was review worthy. I ordered a wood panel for my grandma and Zuandrea (aka Z) noticed that part of my head was going to be cut off so she called and asked if I wanted to resubmit a photo so that it turned out good. I'm so happy that she did! The wood panels are not cheap and I wanted it to be perfect. I resubmitted the photo and she had it finished in less than an hour. I really feel like she went above and beyond for me. Amazing customer service seems to be a rarity now so I just felt like I should spread the word! Zuandrea you amazed me with your amazing customer service and I wish more people were like you!! I took my daughter to Walgreen winter garden Blvd. for her Covid vaccine but I was denied, she said her name was not on the insurance card. The pharmacist held on to my instruction card and she was questioning me as if the card was not mine. That was the same insurance card we all used in the family to get the Covid vaccine. Went into the store on a Saturday to do some window shopping, but I guess I overstayed my welcome. I was pestered and harassed by an employee for being on the phone and being in the store too long. I left to finish my call and when I went back in to discuss the situation with the manager, he low key accused me of shop lifting. Had to get something for a friend later that night but I will never step foot in another Walgreens especially this one. Corporate didn't even bother to respond to my feedback. Bad form!!!! read more
