This review is for the pharmacy. I would give 0 stars, if it was an option. I have never had a pleasant experience at this location, for any pharmacy needs (vaccination, Rx, etc). The staff is always miserable, they are disorganized, and understaffed. Today I had to wait 20 minutes for a "mandatory" consult with the pharmacist that was on a break. Once the pharmacist returned, medications were released, no consultation necessary. Avoid at all costs, if possible. read more

The pharmacy is extremely slow at filling prescriptions. Last night my prescriptions were sent from an Emergency Room doctor to the pharmacy. That was over 25 hours ago and I am still waiting to get them filled. I appreciate that the pharmacy was not open when the order came in, but they have been open 4 hours and they still have not found time to fill a prescription that an ER doctor thought important enough to submit. This is not my only negative experience with wait times at this pharmacy; it is just the most recent. It has always been slow and I only used this pharmacy in the past because it used to be open 24 hours. Now that it has limited hours, I recommend that you avoid this pharmacy. (If the ER doctor had asked me which pharmacy to use instead of looking at old records and automatically sending it here, I would have chosen a different pharmacy.) read more

The pharmacy staff needs to take a course in customer service. Called in a prescription and came in a day later. No prescription. Had it called in again waited 90 minutes with 102 fever for a basic 3 pack of antibiotics. Take care of patients quicker, especially if it's your error. The lines are also brutal. I am compelled to write a review after countless problems with this pharmacy. Wrong prescriptions, wrong dosages, unfilled prescriptions, repeated unexplained closures of the pharmacy and no accountability. This has had serious impacts on my family, especially when they gave the wrong med to my autistic son. We have moved to CVS. As I write this I have been on hold at the pharmacy for 45 minutes without talking to a human. The machine hung up on me prior to that after holding for about 20 minutes. This is after going into the store to get a prescription that my husband's doctor called in which they said they were out of at all Wallgreens for the foreseeable future. They would not transfer the prescription themselves but said that the new pharmacy had to call in the prescription. What a dirty trick! They don't actually answer the phone! Wow. Worst pharmacy I have ever, ever been to! Every time I had called, the wait for them to pick up their phone is at least 20 minutes. Are you kidding me? Sometimes the system hangs up on you and you have to start over. Today, I had called to transfer in a prescription from another store because I was moving. Brenda picked up the phone and was extremely rude and impatient. She made it seem like I was bothering her by calling and asking to transfer my prescription. She asked for the other locations number and when I was unable to provide it within a second, she said she "can't wait" for me to find it and put me on hold. The system then hung up on me and here I go waiting for them to pick up again. I don't know how this place runs their business, but its just ridiculous. read more

I would like to start off by saying that I have never written a negative review...Cliche, I know. I have visited this pharmacy several times (15+), usually after work between 3-5 pm. They are always, and I mean ALWAYS understaffed. If you come during this time (the only time frame I can attest to), expect to wait in line 30 minutes to drop off your script, and another 2 hours before it is ready. If the technicians or the tell you 30 minutes, don't believe them. If the TV tells you just 45 minutes more minutes and your script will be ready, don't trust it. They will will until that time runs out and add another 45 (has happened twice). After writing this, I feel like an idiot standing in line once again. Shit. Employees seem to work hard and are polite... Just poor management. This review pertains strictly to the pharmacy dept. Update: I ended up deciding to leave to go grab dinner and returned well over 2 hours later after being told my script would be ready in less than 40 minutes. Waited in line again, and still wasn't filled. Was told to wait 25 more minutes. Waited the 25. Again, not done. Told to wait another 15. Left the store again and picked up the goods in the morning. Worst Pharmacy in the world.... After years of finding this place nothing but a frustration, the simple fact that they are 24 hour brings me back. My experience was so bad tonight, I decided to write my first review in god knows how long. The staff is made up of regular clerks who are uninformed but somewhat friendly, and pharmacy techs that are rude and outright confrontational. I had a simple prescription for antibiotics of which they did not have and would not forward onto another pharmacy in town with out that pharmacy first calling them to request it. Its policy, you see. I waited an hour and twenty minuets to hear that little nugget of bovine excrement. You see, they had 3 of the 30 pills I have to take, and when the pharmacist returned she would not even fill this partial prescription. So, they won't fill the prescription, and they won't pass it on to another pharmacy. Great catch that catch 22... I also witnessed a man restricted from buying syringes for his intramuscular medication, because their was no prescription for the syringes (good thing he was only in debilitating arthritis pain and not a diabetic), and another man who lived up in the hills be denied his prescription because the pharmacist wasn't their to consult him (the clerks thought this was funny). The waiting area was also dirty. Their were food debris all over the seats as well as abandoned clothing. No one seemed interested in cleaning it up. I worked for a Walgreens in 1994, and they took cleanliness seriously then. The entire chain seems to have suffered sense they stopped making employees wear vests and ties. If you want a good pharmacy in Los Gatos, go to Wellness Pharmacy on LG Blvd. Super friendly staff, great service and quick turn around times. If its 9:00, just save yourself the frustration and get your prescription filled in the morning. read more

I would give zero stars. The service level at this location is amazingly poor especially at the Pharmacy. There is no clear system for express pick up and the lines are confusing. Their appointments have no meaning as when one get there at the prescribed time...One still has to wait for an additional 45 to 60+ minutes as they are poorly staffed....Not sure why do they even allow for appointments to be taken when they are unable to meet the demand. read more

I have lived in Washington, Oregon and Southern California and have had to use Walgreens pharmacies in many locations, as well as out of state due to travel. This Walgreens beats all of them for ineptness, rudeness, procrastination and everything else negative you can think of. It is by far the worst Walgreens pharmacy on the planet!! Someone in the pharmacy even tried to steal an ativan perscription from my grandmother who is 93 and only takes it very occasionally. We had to threaten to make a police report to obtain camera surveillance of the transaction that we did indeed not receive the perscription even though she was charged for it and they said it was picked up. I think someone was fired for that. Still, the lines are ridiculously long and waiting times are absurd!! Even in a busy LA pharmacy with fewer workers and more customers I waited less time by at least half an hour. I dread having to go in there and get a script. It is my biggest stressor. I don't even like to call them because they are so rude and unhelpful. They have zero customer service skills. I had to stop sending my husband there because he was clearly not going to survive the experience. It was way beyond his ability to deal with stress and lack of respect. I recently moved very near this Walgreen's and have had at least 5 normal, pleasant visits that were unremarkable. Last night I went shopping just before midnight with my husband after a long drive. The staff made it very clear that I seemed suspicious and was asking me every pass of an aisle if I was finding everything and did I want something in particular? Not that those comments are unusual, but the tone was in no way helpful but clearly a warning I was "on the radar". Very "mean girls" behavior, nasty looks and cold hard eyeball-banging me literally each time I passed an employee. Within a few minutes of choosing nailpolishes I hear the intercom blaring "security on the floor". I was sure I was one of less than 3 shoppers at midnight, a quick check in those 360 mirrors above me confirmed the obvious: I was the bad guy! Red team go! I am a mellow consumer, I prefer to use communication to clarify misunderstandings. I was approached by a manager before I finished my shopping trip and once again, no smile, just an eyeball probing and a vaguely sassy smirk. I started the dialog "how are you tonight?", this led to a brief exchange of a few short phrases and she walked off. At this point four employees have given me looks that I took as rude and very ballsy. I don't fear the pack of girls would jump me in a store, but I sure believe they fantasized about it, because they were working at a competitive level I felt like I was in a Quake tournament. This is what happened: I asked the cashier what the security alerts were about because they had put me, as the only customer besides my husband present, in a very anxious state of mind that I may be in danger if there was any reason to be alarmed about crime. This cashier then blew my mind. I have worked retail all my life! I am very kind to the most unpleasant customers and have never ever witnessed a paid employee do what this Walgreen's employee did.. She played the repeat game. I AM NOT KIDDING, and she was not a 6 year old so it was not cute or cheeky. Have you seen Super Troopers? This employee cocked her head to the side and repeated my questions back to me like I was the dumbest moron she had ever met. Is there any reason I keep hearing security alerts in the last half hour while I have been shopping alone? "IS there any reason??" Do you regularly have many security concerns at this time of night? "SHOULD we have security concerns at this time??" My husband asked to speak with the manager, who charged over. She had a professional tone, but was as rude and unyielding as her team. I asked if I should feel welcome to shop at the only 24 hour store in my new neighborhood as I am very happy to have access to such a convenience... "that is your choice, not mine" LIFETIME VALUE OF A CUSTOMER: worth nothing at this mediocre Walgreen's. I will return when I can trust that I won't be treated like an unpopular freshman by a click of untrained brats who like to run the show and hate to service regular customers. read more

The pharmacy techs are pleasant enough, but the staffing is woefully insufficient. As an aside, why do I have to be accosted by someone raising money who sits just outside the door to the business (and presumably on private property)? There were 5-6 ppl in line waiting and the counter was finally open at 2:06. If there is a designated lunch hour, plz post it on your website so that ppl won't come during that period of time. Went in at 5:30pm yesterday. The cashier was using her cell phone during the entire transaction. Seemed very inappropriate.

They have an excellent location, but... Yesterday I came in around 09:30 AM for an over the counter medication. The store was practically empty, and there was no one near the pharmacy. There were two pharmacists inside; I asked one of them where can I find the medicine I needed and she called the other one. This one said that it is on the nearby shelves which are "alphabetically ordered". They were not, at least by the English order of the alphabet. I could not find it and went back to the pharmacy window. "If so, we probably do not have it," she answered "you should go to a vitamin store or somewhere else". I asked for the location of the "vitamin store" but she did not know. She also would not come out to look at the shelves (even though there was no one waiting for the pharmacy). She also did not check on the computer if they have it or where can I get it. Later yesterday I googled it and discovered, to my great surprise, that another Walgreens store did have it. No surprise their store was empty of costumers. read more

Since the store's complete overhaul, I lie it even more! It feels much more open and is definitely organized much better! The cosmetics area is definitely swanky, very cool design. The pharmacy seems better stocked-or maybe it's just that I can actually find whatever I'm looking for without getting a headache (other than the one caused by my cold)! Only downside is finding someone that works there...they're quite elusive most of the time & some of the cashiers are less than efficient so that's a bummer-although I have to admit, the older gentleman, Robert, I believe his name is, is super nice ALWAYS! Not to mention I have never been ma'amed by him, always miss..woohoo! All in all, this Walgreens is definitely a step above the rest! read more

We needed to get some photo Christmas Cards and time was running out. We called the photo department at Walgreens Loa Gatos and Kayla Higvera answered the phone and assured us that she could help us. When we arrived, Kayla worked with us to help with the design and all the other options; our cards were ready in about 20 minutes. She is such a nice person and an excellent associate at this store. I love this Walgreen's! They have the largest card selection I've seen outside of a card store, so you can always find the perfect card. They have a huge cosmetics section. Seriously, it's like its own store in a store. And it has a really cool design. I also love to shop here after holidays because they always have a great selection of clearance stuff. I buy my Christmas cards here for 75% off after Christmas (for the following year) and stock up on Cadbury eggs after Easter to hoard for as long as possible, since they're yummy. read more

I took my son to the pharmacy for a flu shot with an appointment made ahead of time but we ended up waiting for 35 minutes. They totally forgot about us!! I had to go over to the busy counters several time to make them aware of our presence. The only reason I came here for the flu shot was that it's only 2 min. from my house and I thought we could be in and out within 10 min. I will not recommend anyone to go for a flu shot there. read more

Walgreens has reduced their costs at this Walgreens pharmacy by reducing their hours and reducing their staff. It is a 30 minute wait every time just to pick up a simple prescription. The pharmacy is also closed for lunch and does not stick to their published hours, which makes for long lines and disgruntled customers. read more

My husband went to pick up his prescription today during Memorial Day weekend. Two employees were busy chatting behind the counter. He's been suffering from allergies. The traffic in town has never been worse, just to get here. He was told they could not help him because they were both simultaneously on a lunch break. He was told he could come back in a half hour when they were finished. It's SO inconvenient. He showed up at 1:30pm, not some crazy hour. Really?! Never again will we return here. read more

This store, pharmacy is the worst. It's been going down hill for a number of years but it is so terrible now my husband and I have to change. I waited over 35 minutes for my name to show up on their screen, monitor to even see they were starting to process my prescription. Never showed up so after almost 40 minutes I walked out. And I was waiting for a new blood pressure med and I was fuming. The clerk said it would be 10 minutes for my prescription to be ready but my name never showed up as even being processed. After 40 minutes I walked out. When I got home there was an email within 6 minutes of me sitting and waiting for my med said my prescription was ready. Really???? I was sitting there waiting, waiting, waiting next to a woman sitting next to me on the chair who was really sick, bloodshot eyes, a real mess so God knows what I've been exposed to now especially with Leukemia and low blood counts. Another man was waiting, waiting waiting too who could not read the monitor so I had to tell him his med was showing ready. He stood in a line of 8 people deep. Totally unacceptable. He asked for help reading the monitor since he couldn't read it. Years ago if you were sitting there waiting the clerk gave the prescription to the pharmacist and said they were waiting. The prescription was handed to the clerk when ready and they called you up....ahead of a 10 person line or longer since you've been sitting there for a long time waiting for your med. This is so disgusting..... Don't ever go to this store, pharmacy....it's the worst in Los Gatos...a town of very wealthy people with the worst service ever. read more
