Worst Walgreens I've ever been too. Every time I come there, it's an all day trip. They refuse to open more than one register. I counted 25 people in this line. 25 People!!! Meanwhile, 3 workers are talking and laughing in one of the aisles. When you ask if they can open another register, they look at you like you have no business talking to them. I know this will go unseen or just tossed to the side but at least I might be able to warn someone before they go here. When I was young I had these vivid memories of my mother. Men always looked-no gawked at my mother and tried to woo and buy her affection and mine (since I was the key to a mother's heart) for years and years and years. The same with children I went to school with-they would stare at her and ask if she was the older sister-not my mother. Years would pass by and still my mother would unknowingly drawn in men like a siren at the grocery store or at the laundromat. She was a domestic kind of siren I guess. I studied her tactics, tried to understand her cosmetics and skin creams to create the illusion that drew the opposite sex in. Mom found me knee deep in heavy foundation and powder one day and after a heavy butt whooping, sat me down and taught me the basics. And so I learned the basics and applied that knowledge to looking like a teenager forever. Sunscreen and moisturizer. I hated that stuff as a kid and would frolic in the sun like one of David Sedaris's sisters basking as a Greek God on the beach. I practically looked Filipino at one point and my mother looked like my lovely Korean nanny with my wild black hair and dark olive skin. God, I'll never be able to fake bake that color. But at least I'll look young forever thanks to Mom's secret Neutrogena SPF 50. Which brings me to Walgreens. With my current batch of Roc moisturizer depleted, I made a quick run to the local Walgreens. I like leaving a lot of things up to fate and tip my hand in favor of whatever has a huge sign that says, "pick me pick me pick me" and that's exactly what was staring at me from the Neutrogena sunblock aisle. In comes SPF 75. OMG my pale skin rejoices within! And it's a BOGO 1/2 sale which pleases my cheap little heart also! Ha ha ha! Every time I slather on the white stuff that protects me from the sun, I remember how awesome mom looks now and keep slathering it on. Walgreens is not only good for the awesome little finds like a BOGO here and there, but it's great for the collection of Harry & David's Moose Munch, Goodies hairbands, Arizona teas, and Annie Chun's bowls! One of the things I enjoy doing when I have time is to browse around a drug store for new and useful items. Sales don't hurt either. This Walgreens makes the shopping experience painful. One cashier in this store has been helpful and courteous out of the ten or eleven times I have gone in there. The rest do not make eye contact, are extremely slow, yet impatient with the customers.....how does that even happen? Recently I walked down an aisle and around the corner at the other end came an employee with a full cart of items at about 100 miles an hour. He did not see me, and there was not enough room for both of us. Luckily I moved out of the way into the main aisle at the end, because if I hadn't, I would have been bowled over. The people on the street and the other customers are friendlier and more willing to help. The entire staff, minus that one nice lady should take some kind of customer service seminar. One bad day or bad mood is fine. I get it. Consistently over time though, there is something wrong. Too bad too because I like the location of this store. read more

You have to realize that its really hard to remember that people who work at a 24 hour store have one of the roughest jobs in the world. I actually think the Millbrae Walgreens peoples deserve a special shout out for seeving me for over 14+ years now. 1. Some of the employees actually know my name. 2. They know that I usually come in to buy my two rockstars/ monsters. These two things are actually pretty cool because they must see hundreds of people a day. I just have to say bravo. If you are sick and need some quick medication for relief this is the place to go! There is a large selection of medicines to take care of a common cold to flu. I had to come here to pick up some medicines so I would at least feel a bit better than crap. There are a great selection of name brand and also Walgreens house brand medicine for less. -parking Parking is available outside all the time. read more

It's a Walgreens, that's about it about this place. I have to say it is a pretty nice now, it is fairly large especially compared to (and especially when I'm accustomed to) the ones in San Francisco. It's a good place to walk around especially after a fulfilling meal at a nearby Millbrae restaurant. I think it's open 24 hours, so there's a convenience there for those who are nearby. As commented by one reviewer, the staff is not necessarily friendly. In particularly I'm referring to the Asian lady that was at the register by the front door this past Saturday afternoon. She did not seem friendly at all, no smile or anything. At least I heard her say "thank you" to some customers. read more

The pharmacy department and the pharmacy staffs are the examples of ultimate inefficiency and incompetence. They sent me emails and multiple calls telling me the prescription is ready but when I went there there were multiple issues and nothing is ready. The staffs are rude! I cancelled my prescription at this location immediately and moved to other place. Avoid at all cost!!! read more

I dont see why people give this place a poor rating. I will review this as a whole. Like any other Walgreens you get what you need here. Its not super big and downsized a bit compare to other stores. Associates are so nice and friendly. Its a great store to shop at! Hope to see more varieties of chocolate candies to pick at.

This review is specifically for the pharmacy, which sadly is second home for me . . . the pharmacists, techs, etc. they're all the epitome of professional, consistently willing to be helpful, and kind, knowledgeable, always willing to go the extra mile, e.g. dealing with endless snafus with my insurance. Whether in person or on the phone, they're ready to be of service with a smile. Despite they're on their feet all day, interacting with dozens of customers and computers and doctors and issues, I never feel lost in the shuffle or part of the larger system, nor do I ever feel they're phoning it in. I'm grateful they're so close to home and I can rely on them. I wish I could thank each person by name . . . thank-you :-)! read more

Again, we decided to shop here because we had to pick up some last minute items. My god, the place is HORRIBLE. These people really need to learn how to provide customer service. You cant find anyone on the sales floor to help with locating an item. When we finally got to the front area to pay, we had to wait in line for about 15 minutes because there was only one register open. When it was our turn to pay, the cashier never greeted us, didn't say thank you.....nothing!! Who is running this place? No wonder your stocks are down and CVS is moving in town. I hope Safeway across the street opens back up soon cause I'm never going to come back to shop at your store. read more

this review is solely based on the Pharmacy section of this store. i was in line during after work hours to pick up a prescription. while waiting patiently in line for 5 mins, it finally got to the point where i was next in line. as anxious as i was to be called next, some lady with a cart full of stuff walks up to the counter. the pharmacist said ""sir, please wait". i was like WTF!!!! she took forever taking care of that lady. i thought she would just give her the prescription and ask her to wait in another line to check out her other stuff in her cart. but instead, she let the lady cash out on all the merchandise in the cart. that wasn't just it, the lady split her purchase in 3. one for prescription (but couldn't afford all her medication, so they split the original refill), then one for parts of her cart (wrote a check), then another purchase for couple vitamin stuff. this took another 15 mins. if i were the pharmacist, i would be smart and give her the prescription, then ask her to pay for the rest @ a normal cashier, since the line was getting long. to bad the person apparently didn't have the brains to do that. read more

The pharmacy staff at this location is very friendly and helpful. They work hard to make sure that everything goes through okay with my less-than-delightful Rx insurance plans which changes slightly each year. The whole store and staff is great, except for this one older man who works the front counter in the earlier-mid evening...he never smiles, or even talks to you or will even tell you your total. I say "thank you have a good night" and he says nothing. Get rid of him. Otherwise, great store! read more

Photo Department warning: inept staff!! Last week, I went to pick up a photo that was confirmed via email processed, printed, completed. Spent 15 minutes with Vicente while he went around the very small area looking for an 8x10. Eventually got him to tell me it wasn't there. Said he'll print out another photo but it will take 20 minutes. Came back after shopping at TJ's. Vicente spent another 15 minutes looking for my photo. Got the assistant manager Mike. Mike said it would take another 20 minutes (seriously, the printer takes that long for a single photo?). I said thanks, but I'll come back. Came back a week later. Still no photo. Luckily, Vicente wasn't there so I didn't waste 30 minutes to be told the photo wasn't there. (Dunno this guy's name...he looked new.) Usually, I see Grace here and she's pretty slow too but at least I always got my photos from her. The rest of the departments (pharmacy, make-up, check-out) have been pretty average. They are the reason I brought it up to 2 stars. read more

I'm beginning to wonder if the people here are intentionally trying to mes with us. My husband and I buy two cartoons of Camel Wides a week (don't judge-we like our smokes!) Every single time we go in there, they've stocked all of the cartons. We ask them to not do this with two cartons so we won't have to pay for a bag. They continue to stock them. And charge us the bag fee. Talk about crap service. Either keep at least one carton whole, or waive the bag fee. We've been loyal customers for years. They should be able to work with us on some level! read more

They now lock the back entrance at 6pm for whatever reason. So you will have to go around to get in. Nerve of them.

The restroom here is the WORST I have ever seen in a pharmacy. One wonders why it even needs to be locked with employee access only. The rest of the store looks pleasant enough though the cashier at the register did not seem interested in giving customers a positive experience. read more

Well i have stopped here few times before but they were simple purchases so nothing to it. However, I clipped some coupons online on their walgreens website and they did not see it at register. I showed them the card and coupon on my phone through the app yet they still didn't understand me. They wanted a paper coupon. I understand if there is a system glitch or something but at least know what is on your own website instead of calling your customer a liar. They did nothing to look into the matter except say we need a paper coupon from sunday paper... hello Walgreens Website lets you clip coupons in order to go paperless!!! I had the most horrible experience at this Walgreens. I was browsing around the store and when I went to pay for what I was taking, a manager (I believe his name was Chase) approached me. He asked me if that was all I was going to purchase and I said yes. He then went on to ask me if I was going to pay for the rest of the items inside my personal bag. I was very offended at this accusation and claimed I had not put anything inside my bag. At first I refused to let him check my bag because I felt an officer should do that, but then I tried showed him my bag and he refused to look inside it. He said that I probably had taken out the items from my bag already. He told me not to shop at his store anymore and that next time he would not hesitate to call the police. I then asked him to call the cops so they could handle it but he walked away from me. I immediately busted into tears as he had accused me of being a thief in front of everyone. I had never been so humiliated in my life. I tried talking to the manager (Chris) but he was not much help either. I guess when you shop at this Walgreens incompetent employees can simply accuse you of shoplifting without any proof. I asked several times for them to check the security videos but they refused. All I got was a fake dry apology from the manager that stopped me. Do not shop at this place if you look Hispanic or you may go through a similar experience. read more

Walgreens Millbrae Pharmacy Beware of this pharmacy. I had my doctor call in a prescription and picked it up a week later. One medication was not filled since they did not have it in stock and did not order it; I had to wait 1/2 hour to find out that they were out of the medication. Then they had called another Walgreens in San Bruno and the pharmacist stated they had the medication and when I went to the Walgreens in San Bruno they did not have the correct medication and they said they would special order it after waiting another 1/2 hour at that store. This was the most frustrating situation being sent from one Walgreens to another and still no medications. If you have prescriptions going to Walgreens especially in Millbrae or San Bruno call up the pharmacy before to make sure they have the exact strength in stock before going down to pick it up or else you may be on a wild goose chase just to pick up your medication. read more
