I get my vaccines here and my pharmacy is set here as well, I've never had any issues once checked in and the line goes by pretty quickly. Honestly over the years this store has gotten a lot better as far as merchandise. I would say it's in a location that previously things were getting stolen often but not much was locked up. The majority is locked up now but honestly I like that and they have everything really down to what I usually order off of Amazon for my kiddo. There is security but I'd say that's more or so for those coming in with large bags , they do have you leave that at the door. The biggest issue with this Walgreens is the parking lot, lots of food venders which we all know and love! It's just commonly known for smash and grabs, never any parking, takes for ever to even pull into during most times of the day and alot of robberies. read more

Sat on hold for the pharmacy for 35 minutes. Every so often it rang and someone picked up and hung up again. Once I got through to the store but they said they didn't know anything and put me back on hold. The staff are either horribly overworked or not motivated; hard to tell which. The person who finally did pick up was helpful and earned the one optional star. If you have a different option for a pharmacy, use that instead of this. I usually do but certain prescriptions have to be picked up in person. This store is seriously trying to go out of business due to poor customer service. SAD. read more

Walgreens on Foothill is one of those places you walk into and immediately remember why you try not to run errands in Oakland right before closing. I stopped by about an hour before they shut down, I got in line at the pickup counter and the girl in front of me was wearing a leather jacket and basically just underwear. Not shorts. Not a swimsuit. Just underwear. Full cheeks out in the photo section like it was nothing. You really can't make this stuff up. Oakland will show you something new every week and somehow it's always wilder than the last thing you saw. The employees didn't say anything, people acted like it was normal, and I just stood there thinking I definitely do not need to come back here again. If you're not from this side of Oakland, this area might catch you off guard. If you are from here, then you already know what time it is. The store itself was fine, but the environment is not it. Zero stars, the pharmacy is awful. If you can go to any other place, do it. Parking is always packed because of all the vendors surrounding the lot. Both times I've picked up from the pharmacy I've signed up for text, call, and email notifications for when it's ready. Both times, I call after a few hours and it's been "delayed," which basically means they haven't started getting it together. But they tell me they'll call or text when it's ready. Both times, I call them again about 20 minutes before they close and they tell me it's ready. They do not communicate and they act real pissy about having to do their jobs. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. This is the most incompetent pharmacy I have ever dealt with. My 74 year old father got his inhaler refilled from them, and they ensure same day delivery. What they don't tell you is that they partner with DoorDash and do nothing to ensure the prescription is actually delivered. The door dasher did not follow instructions, delivered to a door that is not even on our block (frankly, might not even be in our city they're that incompetent) and Walgreens insists it is door dashes fault, that they cannot refill a prescription that they filled but DID NOT DELIVER. They consistently told a 74 year old man to call DoorDash, and DoorDash says to call Walgreens. Though I will admit the delivery driver was also incompetent, this is 100% on Walgreens. They will deny filling prescriptions for the elderly because their delivery system is faulty. They yelled at him, and only attempted to contact his doctor to refill, who obviously denied the request because she's already written a prescription. How on earth is it on my 74 year old father to hunt down his prescription when this Walgreens pharmacy is the one who fucked up the delivery? If you don't want to have Walgreens harass your elderly parents and refuse to give them care, this is the place for you. Oof. The photo center is TERRIBLE at framed "Printacular" prints. They cropped ours on top and bottom rather than informing me that I should re-crop the digital image myself, to be 4:5 aka 8x10" for a floating frame. The photo was mounted crooked, and they left green adhesive and dirt particles in the frame next to the photo where they couldn't be reached for removal. The plastic inside is scratched too. Nothing about this frame "floats," it's just a larger frame without a mat. There's also no stand on the back. NOT worth $55 plus tax!! read more

Then we grabbed some paper towels which were also on sale like 2 for $8 or something. We got some drinks and a bag of peanuts for $2. When I get to the front, the total came out to almost $50 dollars. I seen the batteries rang up for like $20. The bag of peanuts rang up for $8 like wtf?! And so I asked the woman (who was very nice) behind the counter why the prices were different. She said that they put up the sale prices for tomorrow early. It was like 2 o'clock. We live right down the street and come here all the time. There was nothing they could do about matching the price and she apologized, but we fasho won't be back. If I could I would rate this Walgreen's negative stars. I haven't been in the store for a few weeks and I was shocked how bad it looked. The floors were sticky in front of the cash registers and the aisle where we wait in line to pay. I went in looking for Viactiv calcium chews which they didn't have. I also wanted Easter candy and grass for the candy dish in our office. Very little to choose from. 1/3 of a single side of the aisle and most of the shelves were empty. Easter is still 3 weeks away by my calendar. I used to describe Walgreen's as "Mary Poppins'" bag. I could find everything I needed there. I work a block away from here so I find myself in a position to HAVE to go here sometimes. I dread it every time. There is ALWAYS a long line. I have to ask EVERY TIME "Are there any more associates who can ring." I've seen the manager walk right past the long lines and do nothing several times. As the manager YOU should see the lines and hop on a register or call for more people to ring. I've started walking in, looking at the line, asking the person on the register to call for more people, go get my stuff and by the time I get to the register the other cashier has shown up and the line isn't as ridiculous. Another time I went to the pharmacy to ask a question about the 46,000 different kinds of cold medicine and no one was there to help me, only a person who could ring people up but had no actually pharmacy knowledge. I can say for sure it wasn't like the commercial where they run out to help you, I stood around for a looong time waiting to talk to someone who could help. Overall, service is pretty poor here, even by walgreens standards, but when it's the only option when I'm at work, I'll buck up and go during my lunch break, though never during my 15 minute break because I can never be back quick enough due to the slooooowwwwwness. read more

Thinking that maybe the pharmacist might be more professional, I was taken aback that she was twice as worse than the technician that answered the phone. This Walgreens gets 2 stars just for its location. It is very conveniently located in Fruitvale. I have been here several times and the waits are always long. Not sure why that's always the case. I had one quick experience regarding a flu shot, but it has been ridiculous outside of that outlier instance. When will yelp allow a zero star review? This Walgreens actually made me like Kaisers pharmacy. And if you've been to Kaisers pharmacy where there's about a hundred sick people and 3 lines that are barely moving and you've had your doctor call in the prescription the day before but you're still stuck in that line? Yes This Walgreens was even worse. I had a dental implant scheduled for Monday the 16th of February. So a week before that, I had my consult and they suggested I get my prescriptions filled early so they'd be ready when I needed them. Great advice! So on my way home , I thought about stopping at Kaiser but then I thought, why not just drop them off at Walgreens near my house? I found out why not. I walk in there on a Monday afternoon at 130pm. It took me a half hour to get up to the window to just drop the prescriptions off. He told me it would take about an hour to fill them so I said I'd just come back. The whole time I was there , the same car was at the drive through trying to get his prescriptions filled as well. The next day and for the next several days I got the robocall saying that my prescription was ready. So I went in at 850 am on a Saturday morning. There were 5 people in line and the pharmacy didn't open until 9am. So , I left. I came back that afternoon at 300. There were 6 people in line now and so I waited 45 minutes and when I got to the counter, they couldn't find my prescription for about 10 minutes . Just walking around behind the counter, looking almost lethargic. Finally, I'm ready to go! No. It turns out that I'm getting hydrocone which I guess is generic Vicodin, and they won't release it to me until I talked to the pharmacist who was at lunch. So they told me to come back in an hour. Seriously. With a total lack of emotion and a shrug. Of course, I lost my shit. I asked why even have the pharmacy open if it can't dispense drugs, everyone in line behind me started leaving because they realized that no one was going to get anything for the next hour. I was so pissed off. I go back the next morning at 9, and a lot of employees are just chatting with each other, no one is in a hurry to address the 9 people in line at the pharmacy and suddenly my coffee kicks in and I have to shit in the worst way. Now I have tears in my eyes because I've already been in line for 29 minutes but I can't hold out much longer , so I bail. I go back in the afternoon with a book and a water thinking I just need to pretend I'm going to Lilith Faire and dedicate my whole afternoon to this event. I stood in line for about 10 minutes, the young lady behind the counter was super nice and then the pharmacist said , " do you have any questions?" I said no, and I walked out of there in 15 minutes.
