Trips to the pharmacy are always going to be a pain, but I'm truly relieved whenever I see Rev is working. He's consistently on point - he knows the process, is super efficient and still able to personally connect and care for customers. Other staff are clearly trying their best but the experience is much less pleasant, and there's a lot of outwardly expressed frustration or stress, paired with a lack of efficiency or attention to detail. Regardless, Rev's the best. Keep it up :) read more

Poor service, and many problems and delays filling what should be simple prescriptions. I've used their automated "notify me when prescription is ready" service, but when I get there after being told the prescription is ready for pickup, the pharmacist tells me it's still not filled. Latest issue was I phoned-in a refill, and got an automated callback saying the refill was rejected. Ok - I'll follow-up with my doctor later... but then I get another automated call back saying to contact them about the prescription again, so I call back, and am placed on hold. After 30-minutes of waiting, and seeing that we're past the 6pm closing time, I hang up, and call back. Of course, the automated message says the pharmacy is closed, and to contact them during their normal hours :-P I'd really like to support them as I live in the area; however, the pharmacy is just run so poorly. Will stop going there, and look for another drugstore to handle my needs. read more

It's a bunch of kids who don't know what they're doing. I used to shop and get pictures at Walgreens all the time but they just don't know nothing and argue with you as if they do. Please train them right and mainly about customer service. read more

Expect to wait awhile if you are there for photo pick up. photos were marked ready at 2:45 I showed up at 4:15 and had to wait until 4:45 just to reach the checkout with my photos. Short staffed maybe but very long lines every time I come. If you're in a rush or have things to do avoid this location. read more

Overall the location is somewhat clean and most employees are helpful. However, Gary was a particularly unhelpful employee. If you have a choice find any other pharmacy representative besides Gary. Overall not a great experience. read more

I used to shop here a few times per month, but now I rarely stop by. Today I went in, to see if they had eye drops for my senior neighbor. They had the brand, but I didn't buy them, because I looked up Target's stock yesterday, and the same item costs less there! I bought a bag of Lime Skinny Pop for too much money (3.99) cause II love lime flavored chips and my popcorn. I let the old lady with six packs of cookies behind me in line, go ahead of me. Aren't I sweet? Kindness is a good thing to practice these days. I was surprised to see that a (female) police officer was positioned inside the store, staring at the customer at the checkout counter. I guess they have been having problems with shoplifting lately? Wow. It made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but then again, she could save my life too. Oh, I also thought it was a tad annoying when I first approached the store, and a woman employee told me something that I didn't hear right, but she repeated that I can come in when a customer leaves to other door. OH, ok, cool, at least they are doing the social distancing, so that's good. Oh one more note here at this store is that my husband and I have both had our flu shots here, and although we were kept waiting a bit, the person who did it was ok, although I had to also wonder if they were trained properly, but I suppose they had to be. Just saying, since I used to get my shots at one of the hospitals where we used to go (Kaiser). I agree that the pharmacy is always a bit busy, with a line, but at least they try to be helpful, albeit a bit slow at times. I've been going to this location for 12 years, and yes, as everyone else said here, it's always understaffed in the front, and you will wait in line too long. read more

The people working at this Walgreens have been unhelpful, to say the least. My husband bought the wrong razors as a result of the products being wrongly labeled on the display. When he brought them back, the clerk who "helped" him refused to take them back because he did not have the original packaging. She also would not even look at the shelf labeling and would not hear about the problem, and just kept telling him he could not return them without the original packaging. I hope we never have to shop there again. read more

I would love to give negative stars, but I can't. The worst business ever!!! Do NOT go to this pharmacy. They will screw up your order every time. Every single issue that could come up, has, so it's hard to pinpoint how bad they are. For example, medication that is supposed to be refrigerated, is left outside for days. But if you actually get there, 10-15 min early, they will slam the window in your face claiming they have to close "on time". Newscast, if you're in line way before you close, you're supposed to serve your customers!!!!! It's not my fault they work slow, don't know what they are doing, and change employees every other week! It's very unfortunate that it's close to my house. Unfortunately, because of them, I keep missing my medication that I can't skip! Walgreens is worsening my health!!! This is a well-stocked, well-run Walgreens. It's the standard utilitarian layout, unlike the one near San Francisco's Union Square. Clean, well-lighted, makes for a completely satisfying pharmacy and health supplies visit. read more

A pretty big Walgreens that has mostly everything you need when in a drug store or convenience store. I often go here to get my digital photos printed. Generally, I don't have to wait in long lines and the customer service is decent. It is located near a lot of restaurants on Lakeshore which is an added bonus. I went to retrieve a package at FedEx in the Walgreens on 3250 Lakeshore in Oakland California. The woman who work there told me the package was sent back with the driver and to call FedEx customer service. I called and the automated message for my order number told me that the package was still at Walgreens. I shared this with the woman, and she was extremely rude and raised her voice with me. She told me to call customer service and speak to an actual agent. I guess she was with how rude she was, and how she raised her voice. read more

I'm shocked to see so many positive reviews. This Walgreens is not worth going to. I visited this store over the the weekend and it was insanely busy, yet only had 2 people working the store. The line at the register was 20-people deep and only 1 cashier was working. The cashier had to deal with customers being rude due to the insanely long wait times. This isn't the cashier's fault, it's management's. I've been to this store several times and it's always the same experience. The management needs to wake up and start staffing more people. Yes, this location has a parking lot, but it's dreadful finding a spot when it's busy. People illegally park and it's always a mess. read more

It really can't get much worse than this Walgreens. Horrible parking situation, shelves barely stocked and OMG the pharmacy. They've got one person checking out no matter the line or time of day. Today it took 45 min to simply sign up for a vaccine walk-in, not cause of the wait. Horrible customer service. Essentially had the pharmacy gate rolled down on me at 6:00pm on the dot, post-surgery, after being there an hour earlier with them not having my prescription ready. Manager had the audacity to call security on me for trying to figure out the process--I literally knocked on the pharmacy door--seeing how to get my prescription transferred to another store at that time. Ironically, the fully-armed security guard called on me was the ONLY one to provide me any information (after the fact) that the Alameda Otis Dr. pharmacy was still open and could receive my pain prescription. Luckily my after-hour doctor was able to return my call and transfer my pain meds to CVS instead. Their pharmacy on Broadway was open until 8pm, despite the fact that they're shutting the ENTIRE store down in a few weeks. I would hope Walgreens invests in stronger leadership training because the disrespectful store manager here is not it. read more

Pharmacist refused to fill a legal prescription because he felt "uncomfortable". We had the prescribing physican call and resend an electronic prescription but the pharmacist refused to fill it without explanation. In the 2 hours we waited it seemed like every other customer had some similar experience. We went to another Walgreens pharmacy nearby and had the prescription filled in 10 minutes. I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time to get my second dose of a vaccine - and they NEARLY GAVE ME THE WRONG SHOT. They were just about to stick the needle in my arm when I thought to double check with the technician exactly what I was getting. Then I waited 20 more minutes waiting for them to get the right vaccine. While the technician was very apologetic, this place clearly does not have the staff or organization to even ensure you're getting the vaccine you need. read more

This review is about the Pharmacy. I went to get a flu shot. Their posted hour of closing on Saturdays is 6 pm. I waitws in line for about 15-20 minutes at the pharmacy. By the time I got to the window, it was still not yet 6 pm. However, they told me they wouldn't be giving shots anymore because they're about to close. This, after waiting so long in line! Then they told me they stop giving shots at 5:30. Well, they should have posted a SIGN up! (The sign that they did have up at the door of the little room that they give shots said: "Do not enter. Vaccination in Progress." So what was I supposed to think?) The pharmacy staff treat their customers not like human beings, but like widgets! I got treated the same way at the E. 18th St. Walgreens too: I waited in line just to find out that one of my meds' refill request did not get a response from my doc's office. Then I told them I might have the paper RX in my car, so I went to retrieve it. When I came back, I thought I could just drop it off at the window. But they told me to waiting in line all over again--just to drop off a piece of paper! They act like our time is not important. From now on, I'll be going to their competitors! If I could give them zero stars I would. This review is about the pharmacy. My boyfriend moved his prescription to that store because it's close by and they take his insurance..... The pharmacy claimed that he didn't have his prescription sent in... Even though it was faxed in well in advance and confirmed by the doctor. After calling a few times and waiting they mysteriously "found" it later... Clearly they need to get their sh*t together and learn to organize and file. Here's where it gets even worse.... He picked up the prescription yesterday and hadn't opened it until a few minutes ago..... The friggin pharmacist gave him NEEDLES and not his prescription. He didn't need needles. He told them specifically as for his prescription he already has them... The actual medication wasn't in there! Now it's too late to call them because it's after ten. He has to go out of his way tomorrow nite to go back and try and get this straightened out. They had better not try and claim they gave it to him or refuse to fill it.... If they do I'll make a scene like those dipsh*ts have never seen before and I won't be leaving until they fill the prescription or have the police drag me out. If this prescription has been something he needed to stay alive he'd be fCked right now. Don't go to this pharmacy if you actually want your prescription... With professionalism, organization and safety. They will not provide.... They are shady. I hope the staff in charge of the pharmacy gets fired and replaced. Seven people in line waiting for prescriptions. I had a picture but conveniently it was lost. This is not normally the case at this particular Walgreens, but EVERY Walgreens. Sorry, this is not acceptable. I'm sure most people who are picking up prescriptions are not in some kind of pain or discomfort and want to wait in line, twice, since my rx wasn't ready before, despite getting emails and phone calls from the pharmacy to the contrary. Walgreens made an error - they gave me the wrong medication and charged me for it. When I went in to pick up the correct medication, I was told that I would have to pay for that too. "It's only $10.00" said the discourteous and disinterested pharmacy technician. It's not about the money - they made an error and it's their responsibility to take responsibility for it. While the kind and sympathetic sales associate said "sorry about that," would Walgreens have handled the situation the same way if it had been $100.00 worth of medication? Probably the best Walgreens that ever existed in my opinion. I tend to go to this Walgreens located at Lakeshore all the time whenever I get the chance after school since it isn't too far from Oakland High. Walking over here usually takes me 15 minutes by foot. No, I don't take the bus. Yay for exercise! Unlike other Yelpers who have had bad experiences with the pharmacy at this particular Walgreens, I'm always here for the food and pre-paid gift cards. I'm literally only here for that. Sometimes I would buy some make-up but it's usually blush and eyeshadow for myself, and all the other kinds of make-up products would go towards my friends as gifts. Since I go to this store the most, I got myself hooked up with a Balance Rewards card from the cashier at the front. I'm also able to slap a couple of bucks onto my Clipper card for the bus. So that's a win-win. What's also great is that there are offers on Pringles where you can buy 3 cans (of your choice) and pay $4-5(?) for them. I'm always keeping an eye for those every time I stop by. And so should you. You can talk bad all you want about their pharmacy, but you don't have the right to diss their good ass offers tho. read more

I work not too far from this Walgreens so I mostly come here everyday after work just to look around yesterday i needed some new sole for my shoes and so i went to look for em not even 5 minutes into me being in the store the security guard approached me and asked me to leave i was confused and asked are u guys closing and the security guard said i was taking pictures of the merchandise and for that i had to leave i definitely was not taking pictures of anything u can check the cameras for the 5 minutes i was in the store i was just looking for what i needed but i was escorted out for something i never did like i said i go to this Walgreens pretty much everyday but this is the first time ive been kicked out of a store and it was for no good reason i feel betrayed and discriminated against its a horrible feeling really and theres not much i can do about i get the security guard was just doing his job but i legitimately was not taking pictures as stated and i really did not mean any type of harm at all read more

Don't go to this Walgreen's unless you want to get omicron waiting in line in a tiny, crowded store for an hour (literally) alongside dozens of people waiting for COVID tests, vaccines, and prescriptions. I've used this Walgreens for 10 years but today was my last day. The staff are extremely kind and competent, but someone in corporate must be trying to sabotage the store or something. As demand has skyrocketed, they moved the pharmacy closing time from 9 pm to 7 pm daily! Today I got there and there were 20 people in line, so I came back two hours later and there were even more people in line. Curbside delivery? Nope, they canceled that, too. I called the High Street Walgreens and they filled my scrip in about 30 minutes and I could go to the drive up window and not risk getting omicron. read more

Today is the beginning of the end... ...the end of my time in Oakland, that is. And that is because today I decided to switch regional networks on Facebook in anticipation of my upcoming move across the bay. Nevermind that I still don't know where I'm going to live exactly, I'm hoping I can push fate into setting me up with a sweet situation. So yes, I'm a Facebook region poser. Don't hate. I will be leaving behind all sorts of things in Oakland that I both love (cheap housing) and loathe (trying to get on the freeway at 11 AM on a Saturday and getting stuck in the Lake Merritt Farmer's Market traffic). And this stupid little Walgreens...which I hated with a passion when it first opened last October, has become one of those little spots where I can forgo the automobile laziness it would take to go to Target up in Albany and just get TP and shit nearby. It really does have everything one could want. It's not uncommon for me to walk out with a plastic bag of eyeliner, paper towels, frozen pizza, and a greeting card that I'll probably never send but makes me giggle anyway. Fun fact: If you go to the far back left of the store, you'll find the shelf with all the crap they haven't gotten rid of at majorly discounted prices.
