This walgreens is much smaller than the giant 24 hour one just a few blocks further down Mckee at Capitol ave. the pharmacy is only open until 8 pm, and 6 on saturdays. The pharmacy is conveniently drive-thru, however. i feel for the pharmacy techs, as it gets crowded in here, and they have to juggle the drive-thru people and those who come up to the counter, and people can be very impatient and cranky. i have had a few glitches with the pharmacy, minor things. but mainly i switched pharmacies cause they aren't particularly customer service oriented and i like that the other walgreens nearby is open later. it's not a very big store otherwise, but sometimes you can get clearance stuff cheap, as not a lot of people come here to pick through it. there's often a woman outside by the front door, selling churros. sometimes getting into the parking lot can be a bit of a pain, especially coming from the west, as it gets very trafficky, the left turn lane in the middle of the street is often full or takes a while for a gap in traffic. the turn-in to the lot is right away from the left turn from jackson going north, but there's another entrance on jackson going south, it's narrow and easy to miss, enters at the back of the building, past the drive-thru. no street parking. they usually have mexican radio playing inside. read more

One of the worst Walgreens. I am a loyal Walgreens customer and have been going since I can remember. However, this location need a LOT of work. Both the photo department and the pharmacy are inconsistent, slow, uninformed, and typically have poor customer service. The pharmacy always has a huge line which is fine, however they will call me tell my prescription medication is completed, then I will wait 20 minutes in line only to get up to the counter for the pharmacist to tell me it is not done, and to wait another 20-30min (this has happened more times than I can count) The photo center is always behind. If you order photos in an hour be prepared to pick up in 5 hours. Also everytime I order a photo book from these guys they say something is broken and send me to the walgreens on King Rd. Overall, I reccomend driving a few extra miles to a different walgreens for your photo and pharmaceutical needs. read more

Phew, this place stinks, literally. It always smells like fart when you walk in. It's pretty busy here. This location gets a lot of traffic. Other Walgreens will have someone at the cosmetic or photo department open another register during the busy rush. But not here. It's typically ONE employee working the checkout line. That explains why there's always a long line. I mainly go here just to rent movies from the Redbox inside. read more

This is one of my new favorite Walgreens location. This Walgreens was not one that I frequently went to, but I went here numerous times in April. The store manager David here is extremely helpful when it comes to finding different supplies in the store. I noticed how the employees would take their time throughout the day to make sure the shelves are stock and organized. I was impressed how hard working and clean the store was. Each time that I called to get assistance it was extraordinary. The person didn't put me on hold and made me wait for a long time. It is not fun being put on hold and not sure when the person would answer. I noticed that whoever answers the phone sound so polite and during this stressful time period it is nice to hear a friendly voice. I definitely recommend everyone to come to this Walgreens. Even though it is not the closest location to my home, but I'm willing to go out of my way to go to this location. This is a place to be when you want to be well and safe. read more

Customer service in pharmacy department is the worst ever seen. I went to pick up my 3 medications. Sherry, an unfriendly pharmacy technician, only gave me two instead of three. After a long wait, she finally gave me the the rest of my medication without saying a word apology for the long wait that I experienced. Next time I am going to have drop off my prescriptions at Costco instead of this Walgreen. read more

The five stars is for the customer service. I called ahead to see if they had an item in stock which they did. I drove there and didn't find it on the shelf and the cashier immediately got the manager who got me the item. I was also suppose to receive Register Rewards for the item which didn't print and the manager took care of that as well. I felt so bad because I think he was on his lunch but he was very patient and nice. This place was EXTREMELY busy for a Monday night. I don't think I'll ever come here again though because there were a few homeless people outside that were screaming at you when you walked outside and if you didn't give them any money they continued to yell rude things to you. read more

BEWARE: PPPS= Photo, Pharmacy, Parking Sucks! I absolutely CANNOT stand this Walgreens. This is the worst one out of all the ones I've been to by far. The only reason why I still continue to put up with it is because its close to my place. ((But I seriously am one bad visit away from never coming here again)). 1) Came here today to pick up a prescription only to be told that It wasn't even in the system & nothing was called in. Not sure how that could happen when my doctor clearly said it would be ready after my appointment, which was yesterday. Plus this particular Walgreens was picked out from the list with a big fat circle. The worker then asked me what medicine is it and after telling her, she said it will be ready in 15 minutes & they would call my name through the intercom. So I decided to wait. My 4yr old son and I circled the store, going down each aisle & even played sword fight with him near the cosmetic section while i multi-tasked in checking out makeup products. We finally sat in the waiting area & realized that 40 mins had passed. So I waited for awhile but all I got were stares from the workers. 20 minutes passed....I finally up & leave! I was already exhausted from work. 2) Two weeks ago, I ordered 14 pictures of my son for his graduation around 7pm online. The confirmation stated it would be ready by 11pm. I woke up out of my sleep at 11:30PM to go pick it up and they responded with "Oh no one called u?" (Ummmmm no! Why would I be here in my PJs if I got a call?). Photo clerk told me the machine was down and couldn't print my pics. So i told her that i needed it by 9am. She then told me that i can pick it up at 8:30 in the morning & she will leave a note to the morning crew to make sure it will be done. I came back at 9:30am to pick it up just so they can tell me that the machine was still down. That's when I blew up. NO ONE had the decency to call me & tell me that the machine was still down. I could have gone elsewhere to print them. But noooooo! The clerk said he can put it on a disk & I can go another Walgreens to print them. Are u kidding me!? Ain't nobody got time for that! My sons grad was about to start in 30 mins. So my family & I ended up holding a sign & a poster board with no pictures on them (just his name). Saddest part was when I asked my son what he wanted for his graduation, all he asked for was a sign with his pictures on them! read more

I only go to this Walgreens whenever i need something right away if not i would drive 30 miles for a better service and nicer employees. i came here to purchase pee pad for my dog and came across they have Vick's tissue box for sale. got 4 and one regular for the kid. then went to pay and waited in this long line with only one clerk dealing with some difficulty up front. there was no other employee at eye sight. 10 minute pass, a customer pass by and said cosmetic... Ding* we left the line went to cosmetic and notice these 2 Filipino beauty advisor were chopping up with either their customer or their relative in Tagalog. the customer either seems to have a problem entering his phone # or they got nervous entering the employee discount. yes the beauty advisor was on the clock and came out and enter her discount code for the customer. even tho i didn't speak that language but obviously they cared more giving the discount code to their relative while on the clock then deal with us. after the customer paid she walked away pretending nothing happen. if i was still at the other line i would have been out. no!!! waited for another 10 minute... getting irritated.... finally she scan the Vick's box and constantly sniffing it. "oh smell so good! oh smell so good!" she sniffed all 4 of the Vick's box while scanning them???????? i paid, grab my stuff and left. read more

I am furious. I brought my prescription to this pharmacy well before 5pm. Ryan, a very unattractive Pharmacy tech with an obvious personality deficit (he's well balanced though - he has chips on*both* shoulders) said "it'll be ready at 6PM." Really? How come other pharmacies are able to fill a script in 10 minutes, but you need over an hour? Is there some reason you can't do this in a reasonable amount of time? An hour is too long to wait here, and not long enough to do something productive. Whatever. So I give him the script and go. I get back at 7pm, at which point he says "oh, I can't give you this unless you show ID." Well, it just so happens I don't have ID with me, and given the inconvenience I've already put up with, waiting over an hour for something that should've taken 10 minutes, I'm not in the mood to spend 20 minutes driving home and another 20 minutes driving back just to satisfy this tool. He could see very clearly in the computer I have been getting this medication from Walgreens every month for at least a couple of years, so his need to yank my chain was all about his inferiority issues - he seems to be the type of person who thinks he's better than other people, so to be surrounded by pharmacists when he's a glorified cashier probably makes him crazy, so he takes out his frustration any way he can - if he can inconvenience a customer it probably makes him feel better about his extra-large portion of shortcomings. I wouldn't have minded at all if this idiot had said something when I dropped off the script, or if there was any sign or scribbled notice or ANYTHING that said "you must have ID to get this medicine" but there was NOTHING except for Ryan's insistence. If he had said "fair enough, I didn't say anything earlier, and I should have, and since there's nothing that could have warned you this would happen, don't worry about it this time" there would be no complaint from me - but this idiot didn't say anything until I had already wasted several hours of my life that I will never get back. I called in earlier asking if they had any $1.50 off marlboro skylines in stock so they had me on hold a few times which transferred me to 4 different people and the last time I was on hold nobody picked up and possibly hung up on me. I called again about what happened and the lady answered my questions regarding what they had in stock and where they were located nearby. I arrived 15 min. later and did not see any $1 marlboro reds or special blends black. I was very disappointed, but since their special blends were on sale for $3.95 I ended purchasing 2 packs. I like 24hour walgreens, but their phone service really sucked, but this is the only walgreens close by to home and they have polite service. read more

It's been several times when I try to fill a prescription and they give me a time frame of 15-20min but when I go back to pick it up they tell me that they don't have it or that pharmacist went on a break. The Walgreens store is great I've shopped there for about three years and the cashiers are nice, my only headache is the pharmacy. It's my fault because I gave them many chances, first time my prescription was not ready although they called me to say it was. They told me they were out of stock for one of my meds and I had to wait like two days, I called they said they were still out. One week later I call and they said they actually don't sell that medication and I had to get it over the counter. I was so mad. Next time same thing I was called to pick up and they had nothing. I tried consultation once and the lady was talking to me from far away inside I couldn't even hear her so I told her to write it down for me, she had this horrible attitude. I know it gets crowded sometimes but there is a total absence of customer service, they act like if they hated their job and worst the customers in general because I'm a nice customer and I still got treated really bad. Anyways I will not be coming back to this pharmacy they are just rude and unprofessional in all ways. read more

She was the rudest, nastiest, sorry excuse for management material I have ever seen. Not once did she apologize or show remorse for her employees lies and mistakes. Pharmacy employees at this location are extremely unprofessional. They seem like they can't handle the traffic between the drive through and the customers who are waiting in the store for their prescriptions. Mind you there was only two cars in the drive thru and two customers when I went inside. I'm guessing the Pharmacy is doing a lot of phone orders/refills. I'm sympathetic to their situation if they are short handed, but there was about 4 people behind the counter. If you guys can't handle it then you need to ask for help because it is very unsettling for a customer who needs medication to walk in and see Pharmacy reps behind the counter bickering with each other. You have to be more professional than that....especially in a pharmacy. I have never seen such a thing in my entire life....Pharmacy reps arguing like kids. You'd think these were High School students behind the counter at Burger King. This is very bad guys. You make customers feel like you're incompetent and I hope you don't mess up my prescription. You're all behaving like chickens with your head cut off. Just slow down, breathe, and relax because if you mess up my prescription and I find out....you're going to have a really BIG problem. UPDATE - 3 hours later I went to pick up my prescription and the Pharmacy reps were still bickering. This time it was about taking breaks. There was about 6 or 7 people in line and the line wasn't moving. The lady behind me said "Lord Have Mercy!" When she said that I almost busted out laughing, but I was just as annoyed by the Pharmacy as she was. When I finally got up to the counter the employee who was going to help me was told she had to go on a break. Then the black guy behind the counter came to help a couple minutes after. I have to say the black guy behind the counter seems to be the most professional of the bunch. Between my two visits today he's the only one who I didn't see being unprofessional at one time or another. The guy who looks like Jack Black was unprofessional the way he was addressing the other reps in front of customers. I think he is actually a manager. That's the sad part. Then the actual Pharmacy Tech....I saw her getting agitated and complaining on my first visit. I can tell she feels overwhelmed. On my 2nd visit to pick up my prescription I asked her a question about my medicine and she seemed unsure.....yet she is the one that is supposed to educate you on taking the medicine before you leave. I asked her a simple question about breaking up the medicine and she was like "I guess." Wow. Just wow. Get some training guys and learn how to conduct yourselves professionally in front of customers. You guys seem miserable behind that counter the way you interact with each other. Obvious personality conflicts. You need to address that or move on to another Pharmacy if you can't get along and be professional. I will never come back to this Pharmacy. EVER. read more
