Their rear wheel cart kept our dog's quality of life high even while her DM progressed over the past year. We were able to keep taking her to her favorite parks. It also let her keep going on and off pavement, including hills and light off trail areas in urban woody places. The concept is amazing but the instructions are terrible. I spent an hour trying to assemble it, my roommate spent an hour trying, then I hired a professional task rabbit assembler that who ive hired before to mount shelves and build my extremely complex ikea custom drawers. He said these were the worst instructions he's ever seen for any product. I paid $50 to have it assembled and it looks wrong. The problem seems to be that this is actually 2 products thrown in one box with mismatching instructions and parts that won't be on your wheelchair if you follow the PDF or videos which are seriously lacking for the quad. There's no support on the front. The package included pieces that are not used on the wheelchair and it was missing bolts. The assembly instructions put a huge section at the front that says to do that part "secondly" then has 8 steps after it, which one would assume would be 'firstly.' Yet it asks you to use parts that aren't put together until the part you're supposed to do secondly. It's just a mess. No explanation is given anywhere about what the extra parts are for. I wanted the chin strap but none of the pictures have a chin strap. The product description says chin strap under the features list. One also comes with the product, but when the instructions are followed, you're left without any front support. This cost $325. At this price I feel like it takes advantage of people who are trying to care for their pets because it's just metal bars, plastic wheels and some straps. It should be like $60 If we can get this thing to how it's supposed to be this will be a huge improvement for my dog, but right now it's just not working. Update: I have added more parts and got it much more sturdy. I can't even ask the assembler task guy's help because what he came out with is exactly what the instructions have you end up with. Although the service initially was great, we would recommend viewing other companies before using Walkin Pets. Our dog underwent emergency surgery for IVDD where the chances of him walking again were not great. We ordered a wheelchair proactively as our dog was paralyzed and didn't know if he would ever walk again. The wheelchair came within a few days of ordering but we were encouraged by our surgeon to hold off on using a wheelchair initially. Here we are a few weeks later and our boy is beginning to walk again, unsupported. The company does say they have a 30 day return policy, which is understandable under certain circumstances. However, going through the recovery of IVDD surgery, and the emotional turmoil that comes along with a special needs dog, there should be some grey area. Even a partial refund of some kind. The wheelchair we ordered is still in the box, sealed. It has never even been opened. But they still refused to accept a return because it was after their 30 day return policy (by 11 days). We understand if it was opened, built, etc., but it hasn't even been opened! It definitely is frustrating because these are not cheap, and again, going through a recovery like this there are so many unknowns. We definitely will be looking elsewhere if we are ever in need of dog accessories in the future! read more

Although I like the chair for my disabled dog, if you buy the wrong size, you are going to get screwed. I purchased a medium chair because my dogs weight was 5 pounds over the limit for the small chair. It was for too large for her. My husband and I literally put her in it for maybe 90 seconds before we realized it was too heavy and large for her. We disassembled the chair, never even used a few of the items sent such as extra length poles, foot stirrups, belly support band, etc., and put all the items back into the box exactly as it had been sent. I paid for a $26 label to UPS the chair back and change it out for a small. I get a refund subtracting $88 from my purchase-$26 for the label and another $60 for "cleaning all items and restocking". I asked for photos of what the needed to clean as half the items we never even removed them from the box. I was sent no photos, but only an email telling me they had to clean "all of the soft items". Like I said, I never even unpacked half of those items. If you order the correct size, you're great. If not, be prepared for them to make some money off of you. read more

I purchased a wheelchair for my dog and four months later one of the plastic buckles had broken. I contacted walking pets to see about replacing the harness where this buckle was sewn in place, and they refused to do this under warranty and wanted to charge me $40. When I told them I was disappointed that they wouldn't stand behind their quality and would leave them a bad review they simply hung up on me. Classy. Really poor company, poor quality product, and downright horrible customer service. A well deserved one star review. read more

When I realized one of the parts was the wrong size they got the correct part out to us fast, even though we still had to pay for the part and shipping, it was still under $10 and very quick delivery. Buyer beware. I dropped $100 on a couple splints for my handicapped dog, but he couldn't walk in them so I returned them in the original packaging. Then Walkin' Pets denied issuing any refund and sent some bogus photos with rusted out screw heads on splints that may or may not have been the ones I returned. I had them out of the package for a total of 4 days and they were never wet, so there's no way the ones I returned could have gotten rusted like that. All part of the scam... read more

This company will happily to take your order and your money, and they claim to make refund if you return the product. But when you do return it they don't answer for weeks until you call them. Then they say the item you returned is not in the condition it was when they shipped it. I ordered a wheelchair for my paralyzed (hind legs) dog. The following day I found out he had lung cancer, and he was given 2 months to live. The wheelchair came and we gently assembled it. (Put the wheels on and leg support onto the other part of the chair). I also bought a belly support.(soft part) I put my dog into it 4 times, each time for about 1-3 minutes. It pressed on his lungs where the cancer was. I had to return it for that reason and my dog passed away shortly after receipt of the wheelchair. I cleaned all of the parts, and carefully removed the wheel supports so it would fit in the original box and all the original packaging. I inspected it, and found no damage. I also returned the belly support, the side had 2 small splits due to poor manufacturing. This should not have happened by putting the dog in for such short amounts of time. When I returned them, I got an email stating that they were keeping 40% of the purchase price of the chair, and zero on the belly support due to the edge splitting. They supplied pictures which showed damage that was not present when I returned it. (The piece where the wheel "rail" connected to the chair). I believe the damage was done by them when they disassembled the parts for sterilization. They also showed pictures of the belly support with the small splits on the side, and a few pieces of hair on it. Again, the damage to the chair was not done by us, but of the company. The belly support was poorly made for the side (top and bottom to split apart in 2 small areas) My choices for the belly support were for them to throw it away, or have it returned to me. I had it returned as I had paid for it. They kept the 40%, yes FORTY PERCENT of the purchase price of the chair. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Grieving over the death of my dog, then the insult of this bogus damage was just infuriating. They created a reason to keep my money. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, nor recommend anyone buy anything from them. Poorly made belly support and damage that was not there when I returned it. "Walkin' Wheels" aka "handicapped Pets". However, didn't have chance to use unit as our dog suffered a stroke at the end of a two day visual familiarization period, and had to be allowed to go to his final rest. HandicappedPets.com has one of the largest resources to aid in animals that have physical limitations. I've had my quad-cart since March of 2015. We use it daily for feedings, and it's been very useful for my dog to keep him in a standing position after feedings so he keeps his food down. There were a couple of minor issues, however, Nancy was very helpful and quick to respond. I bought the wrong size wheelchair for my adopted Chihuahua and the company sent the B2 replacement cart out the same day they received the B1 cart back; I received the new size about 3 or 4 days later. I had explained to Nancy that the frame was too short, but that the leg struts were the perfect height, so the B2 with the B1 leg struts should be spot on. I nearly cried when I opened the package and they had very kindly included the B1 leg struts. I adopted my little Chi with a ton of expensive health issues, so this kindness touched my heart. I ordered an XS Walkin' Belly Support recently and received that real quick as well. The support this item gives his bad back has made a world of difference in his use of the cart. The belly support was covering his sheath, which would have caused the urine to soil him & the support, so I took my scissors & cut a curved section about an inch in and rounded off the corners; looks great, works even better. I purchased the Walkin' Lift Combo Harness - Front & Rear from Walkin' Pets directly after I spoke with Autumn in customer service. The product arrived with very poor instructions. I was not able to find any video instructions on YouTube or the company website. Autumn in customer service is a one person show who provides limited information to customers when trying to size the product correctly. I followed her instructions and measured my dog only to get a product that was too big. When I returned the rear hardness I was charged a "restocking fee" for a brand new product. In addition, they never tell you on the website that when you do return the product, they will take the cost of a your return postage label out of your refund. This is no way to run a business when people are trying to provide the best quality of life for their pets. Just another company taken advantage of pet owners. My fur baby has lost use of his hind legs from spinal core injury about a month ago, he has been crate-rest and not allow to move too much. He is still trying to get his strength back, so the walker is still very new for him (using it for the third day). It tricky to get on and keep from becoming a fur ball, but when we saw our 14 yo yellow lab trot across the yard for the first time in the last year, it made it worth any trouble. The emergency vet told us our dachshund would not walk again without surgery which wasn't an option due to the cost, long recuperation time, his age, and the only 50% chance surgery would work. Our regular vet agreed that he was a good candidate for a wheelchair. Because the chair is customizable it may take some patience and willingness to make adjustments to get the proper fit for your dog but the effort is well worth it. We've only had the Walking' Wheels for a week now and our dachshund has regained some function in both hind legs. He didn't like using it outdoors so we have been using it indoors to keep his spine level and straight and to help him regain and maintain muscle tone. Greater mobility also provides more mental stimulation for him. He may never make a full recovery but he is so much happier and active now. read more

fast shipping, excellent customer service, excellent product - my 18 year old Pekingese has slowly lost strength in her rear legs, her kneecaps are locked out - she's too old for surgery - with the wheelchair she still uses her rear legs, but there is little weight on them. She runs all over the place, she even manager a ramp, although she does get too much speed going down the ramp. It has great padding, it is easy to adjust, even while she's in the wheelchair. The wheels are closer than her previous chair so it doesn't grab furniture that she is passing. I love the straps over the lower back to keep everything in place. read more

This is the 2nd halo I've bought for my blind ShihTzu. I bought my first halo approximately 6 months ago and he wears it every day, inside the house and outside when doing his business. The ONLY time I take it off is when he goes to bed with me (I know he's safe and won't bump into anything hard). The original halo is looking kinda tacky, so I bought another one so I have a spare. While I'm cleaning one, he can wear the other. If your pet is having difficulty seeing or totally blind like my ShihTzu, I highly recommend this product. It's been a life saver. He has the freedom to walk around outside without bumping into the fence or landscaping and when indoors, again he can wander around the house safely. I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered the 2nd (spare) halo, but I ordered a medium. I immediately called Walkin' Pets and it was extremely easy to switch out the medium for the small. The medium had already made its transit to my home, but I was given clear and concise instructions on how to return the medium. The Walkin Wheels cart arrived on time as promised. Set up was very easy - although it may have been packed at 4:45 on a Friday as the wheels were attached to the struts on the inside instead of the outside so I reversed them with a 3/4 inch wrench. Customer service was helpful and a representative answered immediately and my question resolved on the first and only call - no robots! Our Newfoundland that is crippled by knee pain was up and walking at least 5 or 6 steps at a time on day one (with food motivation). Her gate improved from a significant limp where all of her weight is forced forward to a level walk and even a little short jog. Highly recommend the Walkin Wheels product especially for large dogs. read more

the folks here were lovely, im so thankful we have a specialty shop like this in southern NH. we had a very sudden health scare with our nearly 19 year old dog, which left her unable to stand or walk unassisted. none of the major pet stores had anything that would have worked for us in store, and we couldn't wait for an online order since it was a matter of her not being able to even use the bathroom. we called for a same day appointment for a fitting, thinking there was no way we'd get in, and they were able to squeeze us in later that day. we ended up being about ten minutes late because of some more dog drama, and they were so understanding about it. i felt horrible being late, especially since they had already accommodated us with a same day, but they never made us feel bad and were so friendly and helpful. they were sweet with our old lady (even though she is less than cuddly) and had several suggestions for harness styles for us to try, walked us through the pros and cons of all of them. we ended up going with a Walkabout Front & Rear Combo Harness set and its been so helpful! shes thankfully regained a lot of her mobility, but its still very useful for when she has wobbly days, especially the rear piece. its simple to put on, was very easy to clean, and even for her being in between sizes fits pretty well (shes an oddly shaped old gal). thank you so, so much for being there for us! we are so grateful, definitely recommend checking them out if you have the need. read more
