I couldn't be happier with the service here. Dr. Leon is so patient and does everything she can to make sure I'm comfortable. I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I've had a few fillings done here and I'm always extra numb and she always tells me at any point I can raise my left hand if I have discomfort during the procedure. I'm a little sensitive so I've raised my hand each time for minor things and she always adjusts how she's working so it's not painful or tells me what to do so I'm comfortable. I've never had such a caring dentist before. As soon as I started going to WSD i couldn't stop talking about the great customer service and recommending it to my friends. Love that I can choose what to watch on tv and the hand spa treatment they give during cleanings as well. I'm always told ahead of time what the price will be for a procedure and given a through explanation of how my teeth are doing and shown clear/high res pictures of any problem areas. This dentist was recommended to me by a great doctor from one medical and I highly recommend them as well. read more

I had a truly awful experience there from start to finish. After waiting almost an hour in the waiting room I was brought into a room to do X-rays. After the X-rays were done the hygienist came in and proceeded to con me into a far more expensive cleaning . Once this procedure began all it was, was extreme discomfort which led me to clenching my fists then entire time. At one point she was yanking on my teeth so hard I was worried that one would come out of my mouth entirely. My mouth was extremely sore after this and this is something that I have never experienced from a routine cleaning. Would not go to this place again. read more

Beautiful dental office in terms of location and aesthetics. However, this is a terrible dental office in every other regard. An absolute money grab. The biggest issue is the complete lack of transparency about pricing. You pay for the initial visit, they bill your insurance for X-rays, take photos, perform the consultation, and only then present you with an absurd treatment estimate. Had these costs been communicated upfront, I would have gone elsewhere and avoided wasting both my time and money. I left feeling shocked and honestly a bit traumatized by the experience. Because the quote seemed so unreasonable, I sought opinions from other dentists. Not only did I find another highly qualified dentist whose prices were nowhere near what I was quoted here, but after comparing estimates from several more offices, it became clear that this practice was charging far above the norm. A nice-looking office doesn't make up for misleading pricing practices. If you value honesty and transparency, I would recommend looking elsewhere before committing to an appointment... Dr. Berwick (5) was on vacation, and because my dental implant had become loose, extremely painful, and infected, waiting for her return was not an option. After my first appointment, I was told I needed to return to see the periodontist. Unfortunately, my appointment with Dr. Alan Pernikoff was the worst dental experience I have ever had. From the beginning, I felt rushed, dismissed, and treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience. I had questions about my implant, infection, and treatment plan, but many went unanswered. Several times when I tried to ask questions, I was told, "Wait a minute," in an impatient tone. I left the appointment feeling confused and without the information I needed to make informed decisions about my care. What made the experience even worse was the lack of professionalism. Dr. Pernikoff took three personal phone calls during my appointment, and I could clearly hear the conversations. As a patient in pain seeking urgent treatment, it was frustrating and disrespectful to have my appointment repeatedly interrupted. During the procedure, after applying topical numbing gel, he immediately administered the anesthetic injection without allowing time for the gel to take effect. When I expressed concern, it was brushed aside. As he examined the implant, I continued to feel significant pain and sensitivity. When I indicated that I could still feel what he was doing, he seemed annoyed that additional anesthetic was needed. The procedure itself was extremely uncomfortable. Before using a drill, Dr. Pernikoff repeatedly tugged and pulled on the crown with significant force. Throughout the procedure, so much pressure was applied to my face that I could feel his fingernails through his gloves pressing into my cheeks and chin. I was also uncomfortable with the way he interacted with the dental assistant, often repeating instructions almost immediately without giving her time to respond. Another troubling moment occurred when Dr. Leone entered the room and said she needed the dental assistant. When Dr. Pernikoff said he needed her as well, Dr. Leone responded, "Well, you guys are just talking. I need her." As the patient, I found that comment incredibly disrespectful. We were discussing my diagnosis, treatment, and concerns, which are an important part of patient care. Unfortunately, the problems continued after I left. Dr. Pernikoff told me he had prescribed Amoxicillin for my infection and Motrin for pain and that the prescriptions had been sent to my pharmacy. They had not. I contacted the office the same day, but the prescriptions were not sent until Monday. As a result, I spent the entire weekend without antibiotics for an active infection and without the pain medication that had been prescribed. During that time, I experienced significant pain, swelling, difficulty eating, and overall discomfort. The combination of poor communication, impatience, personal phone calls during treatment, dismissive responses to legitimate concerns, delayed prescriptions, and a complete lack of bedside manner made this the worst dental experience I have ever had. read more

I've been meaning to write this for a while, and it's long overdue. If you have minor cosmetic concerns, I do not recommend Wall Street Dental Spa based on my experience. Looking back, their full-mouth approach to a very small concern just feels excessive. I later went to Dental House, where the issue was fixed in a couple of hours with composite bonding--for thousands of dollars less. I went in for a routine cleaning and mentioned a simple cosmetic concern: one slightly crooked front tooth and black triangle. I clearly said I did not want anything resembling braces, since I had them for years. The dentists said they understood and immediately presented Invisalign as the solution for me. I trusted that and put 50% down. At my next visit, I was suddenly told I'd be getting fifteen (15) attachments bonded to my teeth. I felt blindsided, as this had not been explained before then, and it was the opposite of what I asked for--a simple, non-braces-like solution. I left Wall Street Dental Spa that day upset and distressed. Shortly after, I was notified by Wall Street Dental Spa via text (with a grinning emoji) that they were charging me the remaining 50%, even though I had refused treatment. After that, communication with Wall Street Dental Spa became very defensive, and my questions were mostly met with my signed contract and highlighted fine print. To be clear, I wouldn't have paid over $6,000 if I had fully understood the treatment, fine print or not. I didn't feel there was an effort to meet anywhere in the middle, which is really unfortunate as a patient. What stood out most is that I later read other reviews describing similar negative experiences with Wall Street Dental Spa. I'm surprised by their 4.9 Google rating (which they also seem very defensive about). I would encourage others to read through the full range of reviews they have on Google, and to read through these on Yelp and their BBB complaints. I am still out over $6,000 for what was, in the end, just an extremely uncomfortable experience with Wall Street Dental Spa. Do not recommend. read more

Hanna I didn't not cancel 3x with 24 hours It was once and I was exposed to COVID and was running a few, the other two times were within the allowable time frame. Your practice is all about the dollar and by seeing some other reviews I believe people agree. Who asks for half payment of services prior to allowing an appt to be booked. I have gone to uptown Park Ave doctors that don't do that. No worries, I will not be adding to this review but I have notified the UFT Wellness Fund that they should remove you from listings saying you accept out coverage, you do but the you bill outrageous co-pays. I wish you and Dental Spa well, hope you have learned something from this. The negative publicity was worth the $100 you would not return to me. read more

I found this place during Covid and thought the protocols were great. I enjoyed the spa-like feel and had good initial experience. However I will agree with the other review regarding the push for unnecessary procedures like looking at Invisalign and such. I understand amounts can vary last two times I went I was charged $400 more than quoted for an X-ray or an extra scan and it started to feel like I was being taken advantage of. Why am I paying so much cleanings? Then I had a crown put on the right side and now have a hard time chewing on that side. When I went back Dr Leon was super casual about it needing a route canal without fully exploring it and acting as if she were too busy to be bothered. I would not return. read more

It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out this dentist was a total scam, so I'm writing this review to try and help the next person. Wish I had read these reviews first. I went for years because it was conveniently located and the hygienists were very pleasant. When my wife started going she was told she needed some procedure for several thousand dollars and she got it, trusting that they knew what they were doing, but in hindsight she had no symptoms before and quite a bit of pain afterwards. But her pain went away in a few days and life is busy; we stopped worrying about it, although she stopped going to that dentist. I kept going every three months for cleanings (their recommendation to be more frequent) and they kept trying to sell me 'perio protect', which is a retainer that costs $1000. I always figured it was an upsell that I didn't need, but they can be charming and the office looks very professional. Eventually I figured, why not take care of myself? I paid up front, out of pocket, and the retainer was supposed to be delivered in a week when they would call me to come get it, but they never called. When I came in for my next cleaning in three months later, I inquired about the retainer and they scoured the office for it but eventually figured the order had never been transmitted to the lab. Ok, things happen - I was annoyed but not dramatically so. Then the wheels came off: after my cleaning, the dentist came in and told me it was a blessing in disguise that the retainer had never been made because I needed $5,000 Invisalign, and the retainer would need to wait until after I had my teeth straightened. While I was disturbed they had pushed me so hard to get a treatment they were not telling me I shouldn't have gotten yet, at least they were now figuring it out. Mistakes happen. Ok great, I said, you can refund me for the perio protect retainer, and when I'm ready I'll do the Invisalign. But as soon as the word 'refund' came out of my mouth, everything changed. The dentist berated me that it 'didn't work that way', and I had already paid for the retainer (which was supposedly never transmitted to the lab!), then she stormed out of the room. The business manager came in and tried to convince me to just do the Invisalign, but eventually she promised to speak with the owner and call me the next day - and that she would get me the refund. She never called. When I called back later, the business manager promised to mail me the refund to my house. Two weeks later, still no refund. Unfortunately, if I want my money back from these thieves who are hocking medically unnecessary treatment, I guess I'll have to sue. Learn from my mistake, don't go near this dentist. read more

The place has a clean and pleasant atmosphere with upbeat music. I came for a scheduled cleaning however I was told that my only option was to receive a deep cleaning for $200. I was brought into a small side office decorated with framed staff accolades. At no other dentist have I ever paid for a cleaning/deep cleaning; so I asked if I could receive a basic cleaning that is coverage by my insurance and the staff member stated "no, that wouldn't help" and then informed me that I would need to place a 50% deposit to schedule the deep cleaning for a future date. I felt too pressured and decided to leave. The following week I went to another dentist and I was told that deep cleaning is covered by my insurance pending and was able to clean my teeth at the other office with no additional fees. It made me feel like the complimentary spa service promoted by Wall St Dental Spa isn't so complimentary. read more

The hygienist was great, and I had a wonderful cleaning, but the 'hard sell' to get more (probably unnecessary) work done was totally overwhelming. They were so aggressive about work that I'm not even sure is necessary. Summary: They suggest many unnecessary procedures including out of pocket expenses (and they overcharge compared to other dentists). I went to another dentist who didn't see any of those problems and said everything looked fine. Looking at some of the other reviews, I'm sure the business manager will write something unprofessional about this being completely false. I came in and was immediately told I had early signs of periodontal disease and needed several fillings and a deep cleaning. It had been longer than usual since my last dental visit with a different dentist, so I thought it was plausible and got those done. I was consistently taking care of my teeth as they recommended after this, then I came back and was told I still had those early signs of disease and had 4mm pockets. Then another dentist came in and said no, those are 5mm pockets - it's possible they actually thought it was 4mm and 5mm respectively, but it's a bit suspicious that they said it was still worrisome and then Dr Leone comes in to say it's outright bad. They then immediately suggested perio protect, which a quick search suggests is a scam and also would've been $1000 out of pocket. At this point I was kind of suspicious, so before the next cleaning I went to another dentist recommended by a friend, and they saw none of those issues. I've been seeing Dr. Fernandez for several years. I'd been going to my hometown dentist (not in NYC) for my entire life--a family practice owned by my mom's college roommate, so I trust their judgment--and during one visit, I had my dentist look into my chipped front tooth. After I had it looked at to see if I needed a root canal, it was clear it was too late for that; there had been enough trauma whenever it had happened that the tooth would need to be removed. Since I didn't have the flexibility to deal with all that when I lived in New York, I looked for an office where I could get regular cleanings as well as either a Maryland bridge or a front-tooth implant (a very make-or-break place to get a fake tooth!). Not only were the staff encouraging and sensitive to my concerns about cost and long-term timing (an implant can take up to a year and require bone grafts, etc.), but they talked me through all my options and had me sit down with their financial staff to see how everything would pan out. I requested the cost breakdown--VERY thorough, by the way--via email after the sit-down meeting, and I sent it to my dentist back home. She said prices checked out, and at one point I even had x-rays and other documents being exchanged between the two offices to make sure things were on track. When it came time to get the final tooth made, Dr. Fernandez met me at the location further uptown do we could make sure it would be the closest possible match (color, size, shape, spacing). The one time I had my temporary front tooth fall out near the end of the process, I was able to get advice via email during a holiday weekend and then come into the office the next day it was open to get things back in place. Dr. Fernandez was always sure to stop by to check in on the process. Cleanings have been thorough and gentle, and the various hygienists who have helped along the way have always been kind and knowledgeable, never pushy though occasionally giving me my options and their opinions on whether it made sense to immediately pursue them (nightguards, fluoride, minor cavities that would eventually need to be filled) or if it was something to just keep in mind for the future. There was one instance during the implant process where I wish I'd been warned to take some Aleve beforehand because of the long train ride back, but otherwise they've been great about checking in about numbing or even just pain during routine cleanings. In general, I'd ask before any kind of surgery about taking an OTC medication, and I don't really put the blame on them for that. Overall, I've been grateful for the consistently thorough work and reliable communication. I'm now in "maintenance" mode, and it's a great feeling. During the pandemic, they've been careful to follow procedure while keeping things friendly. I've recommended them to a friend who only needed basic care, and she also had a good experience, which is the sign of a good practice to me. Ask to get figures sent to you via email if you're concerned about pricing, but I haven't personally encountered anything outside the norm. read more

What a wonderful dentist office! Had a cleaning and it was great. Came back and had my tooth prepped for a crown (I have been needing one for 10 years) and I got the crown the same day! It's incredible the technology in what they can do today. As of now, the crown feels great in my mouth and I'm very happy. Dr. Leone was very kind and did a wonderful job. I just started reading reviews and I can't relate to the negative ones at all. She was upfront, professional, didn't offer extra services. Just simply did what I came for. And was very warm as well! They are very dishonest! I went for a cleaning and initial examination. Dr. Leone lied to me saying I had several cavities. In addition, she wanted to do $12,000 worth of work which would have included removing the tops of almost all my molars. I know the dentist at Wall St. Dental was lying because I went to another highly rated dentist afterward who conducted a full examination and said I didn't have any cavities and that I didn't need any work done to my teeth. read more

This is really a dental spa. You can watch TV almost any channel while you have a procedure. The receptionists are really nice and friendly. The ambience of the waiting area is so nice and calming. You never feel like you're at the dentist. My particular dentist Dr. Christina Fernandez is the nicest coolest lady ever. She is exceptional gentle and friendly and really cool. This a much delayed review but also a well deserved one. A few months ago I had a filling/wisdom tooth that was cracked and causing an extreme amount of discomfort to the point I couldn't sleep. Not having a dentist I now had to call around and found to my amazement all oral surgeons go in maybe once a week if your lucky and are all booked solid for months. I looked around frantically and tried out Tend but was told the oral surgeon there was booked for two months. Since I go to my doctor in the Wall Street Area I thought I would try the area. Reading the reviews I understand everyone can have a different experience and a difference of opinion but felt I would give them a try. Calling Thursday morning I lucked out as not only was the oral surgeon coming in that Friday but he had available times in the morning! I was booked for Friday morning and was greeted by the friendly staff and by Dr.Leone herself as well. Long story short I was in and out as was my wisdom tooth! Wall Street dental has been my go to for 2+ years, mostly for cleanings and fillings. Always friendly service, and a calming environment for someone who hates drills. I love seeing the photos and x-rays and understanding how my teeth are moving and/or what other precautions I can take for oral health. They have a lot of cosmetic and add on services available, but aren't pushy about them!! My favorite complimentary treatment is the keratin hand treatment - it also gets my mind off my phone for a bit. I booked my appointment the night before on Zocdoc, and within minutes I received a call from Pooja to clarify what I needed done. This was a wonderful surprise, as she also moved my appointment time to earlier in the day, which I preferred. Upon entry to the office I was greeted by friendly staff and it was only a short wait before I got taken into the exam room. Ashley assisted with my X-Rays (and she also asked what I would like to watch on the television while I waited lol). Dr. Fernandez was very thorough with her recommendations, and she also fixed my crown which was my main reason for coming in. Lastly, I saw the hygienist for a cleaning, and she was more than pleasant and we connected with our love for reality TV on Bravo lol. The place did not look like a dentist office but a spa with nice low lights and a great selection of magazines. The ladies at the front desk were so so helpful and nice. Penny, the hygienist was awesome, she was very friendly and did an amazing job with the dental cleaning, my teeth felt so great! Update: I went to my former dentist to get a second opinion after getting a diagnosis from WSDS and he did not recommend a root canal, and said if I did need one in the future, his course of treatment would turn out to be more cost effective: meaning WSDS recommended the most expensive crown for my back molar, which as it turns out is less sturdy and more likely to chip other teeth than the gold crown he'd recommend. To recap, my dentist in the west village recommends no treatment while WSDS recommended a course of action that cost 5k (without insurance.) *** I have gone to WSDS twice-- to have routine procedures (cleaning, xrays.) Each time, the hygenist was trying to upsell fluoride treatments. I rebuffed each time, but she mentioned it no fewer than 5 times in a 30 minute window. The same goes with other items (mouth guards- which be to fair, most dentist try to sell.) I now have a molar that may need a root canal and crown, which I realize is not an inexpensive procedure, however, I was shocked by the quote I was given by WSDS-- so shocked that I called my former dentist (also based in Manhattan so prices should be comparable.) My conversations and research so far, indicated that WSDS quotes are on the very, very high end. For my part, I have requested my records so I may return to my dentist in the West Village. I was hoping to find someone closer to work and home, but I think it's worth the trip. read more

I've been a patient here for over three years. When I first started going about 10 of my co-workers also went here. Three years later, I'm the last co-worker to leave - I have only seen the dentist ONCE out of my last three visits. And that was only because the last time I came to the office they had just re-opened from COVID and I was the only patient at the time. The standard office environment is very busy and the other times the dentist as been "unavailable" and I would have had to schedule another time to come back and see the dentist - my last visit they billed an old insurance on record and charged my credit card without any notice or invoice. It has now been over a month since my visit and I have not received any reimbursement or any communication from them - they are a decent dentist office - but these extra problems are definitely not worth it. The spa "treatments" they offer are a hand mask or eye mask and I'd rather buy my own and go to a different dentist that will see me every visit. read more
