The care I received here was definitely solid. The cleaning and subsequent filling replacement were both smooth and pain free. The main issue I had, and the reason I found another dentist, is that they require you to pay everything up front. They told me that it was because the insurance will sometimes reimburse the patient rather than the dentist office. If that's the case, then charge me after. I've never ever heard of this approach. If you're tight on your finances and can't afford to front $90 for a cleaning and much more for fillings, you might want to go to another spot that doesn't their payments differently. read more

Now that I have FINALLY finished my Invisalign treatment I will write a review. I found this place right before COVID (in January) and I had been to a few places trying to price shop while also keeping the professionalism of the office in mind. They had a great deal going on that I personally thought was too good to be true. When I arrived for my free Invisalign consultation the dentist was so thorough and patient. I had A LOT of questions. Price: I went with their Invisalign special they were running. You can check their webpage or call to see if they are still doing it. If I'm being honest it's one of the best deals you will see in Manhattan. It was not covered by my insurance but one place I went to said they would use my insurance YET the cost was almost $2K more. Here at Tribeca Dental they were transparent from the beginning. The price includes EVERYTHING except for the retainers (which is normal). I put it on my care credit because it was interest free then just paid it off within a few months. I also made the decision to add the cost of the retainer on there because of the interest free bonus and I'm so happy I did. Retainers are NOT cheap, no matter where you go so I personally would suggest just lumping that into your initial and ONLY cost. I was scared that because the deal was too good to be true that I would receive a "surprise" bill but I NEVER did and anxiety melted away and relief set in. Office: The office is located easily from the train station (like a minute walk). Afterwards you can go grab some food in Chinatown. The office is in the basement of the building but they make it feel high end. The office is bright and airy, it always smells nice, they always have the fridge stocked with spindrift and it's ALWAYS clean. ALWAYS. There are two sections, one section which seems to be for Invisalign consultations and the other which houses the rooms for cleanings, clin-checks, x-rays, and cosmetic. This is not just a place for Invisalign but a place that seems to be a great choice for a dentist or orthodontist. If I didn't have my dentist already I would chose this spot, the dentist and ortho are knowledgable and this place is ALWAYS packed (they follow COVID procedures but what I mean is that they always have clients which to me is a great thing because it shows that people trust them). Service: This place is one of the FRIENDLIEST offices I have ever been to. The two women who manage the front desk are freaking phenomenal. They are ALWAYS (I mean ALWAYS) so nice! They answer your questions, they give you undivided attention, they are knowledgeable of prices etc. The lines of communication are perfection. The rest of the staff is also ALWAYS so nice! It is refreshing to go to a place where everyone is so absolutely nice, it really says something about management. It just reinforced my decision for picking this place. The process: Getting Invisalign was super easy. At my first consultation (which they scan your teeth, talk about expectations, and price) I decided to sign up right there and then. We did everything with care credit, they double checked my scan, and went through all of the instructions and expectations again. I received my first set of trays a few weeks after that (they emailed me), came into the office to pick them up, put them in, went over everything again and left to start my treatment. Everyone's treatment is different, I did not have buttons or bands so when I went to pick up my trays it was always very quick. If you have buttons or bands your experience might be different. Halfway through my first set my teeth weren't tracking so I called and they had me come in the next day to be re-scanned and I had to wait for my next set of trays. This is VERY normal, this is part of the process. As much as we can plan sometimes things don't go as planned but they made sure they got me in the chair as quickly as possible to get my teeth tracking again. I was set to be done in 6 months but because I wasn't happy I kept going and it officially took me one year to complete. I got lucky and did this right before lockdown (not that this was intentionally planned) so I have been in the comfort of my home changing trays weekly and brushing and flossing obsessively. Every time I would get re-scanned (which was about 5 times) I usually just did only that, the most recent time I requested an appointment with the dentist to ask about my canines and everything was taken care of. So you can request to speak to the dentist, that appointment is harder to get because they have A LOT of clients but it's absolutely do-able and included in the price. Overall I'm obsessed with Tribeca Dental and I'm so happy everything turned out EXCELLENT and they were true to their word. I recommend this place to everyone! I paid a reasonable amount for Invisalign, which was a GREAT deal btw. The receptionist were sooo kind and also the back staff. I didn't see her all the time but the others took care of me just as much. I didn't have any problems it was very smooth process but when I did Dr dorfman made changes right away. Not only did she take my attachments from when I finished my plan, she also offered to take my bottom attachments from my permanent retainers I never took out from years before for FREE. I started coming to Tribeca Dental Care about 3 years ago, and would find it hard to trust another dental care unit as much as these people. They are so kind whenever I arrive, and they take me RIGHT away. I don't believe I've waited for more than two minutes, which I appreciate given most other doctors have longer wait times. My teeth feel incredibly clean after they complete their thorough routine exams. I also received Invisilign through them and have been pleased with my results. They are letting me go as long as I'd like, without extra costs (which may be standard, but in any case, I appreciate it!). They are also reimbursing me for some of it for particular reasons due to my insurance, which I doubt other doctors would be so kind to do. TLDR; avoid if you're a new client. Two cancellations (including one the day before) without even an apology. Was looking for a new dentist closer to work. Saw great reviews on Yelp, and decided to call and get an appointment. Got confirmed over the phone for an appointment 2 weeks later. One week before my appointment, got a text message asking me to call them. After asking for more details, was told the hygienist is available, but no doctor. They then rescheduled me for a date roughly 3 weeks later. This time, the DAY BEFORE at 4PM, they texted me, again informing me the hygienist is available, but no doctor. I went to their smaller branch called All Smiles Dental for Invisalign consultation. I thought I would be meeting with Dr. Dorfman, but was instead met by Dr. Gao, who was a pleasant surprise. She explained what was wrong and what would be hard to fix. Although she didn't go into as much depth as a previous consult, she did answer a lot of my questions very patiently and in a detailed manner. She made me feel very comfortable along with the rest of the staff and so I decided to do my scans the next week (today). I was referred to this location by my partner who came for Invisalign treatment. After a failed attempt with Smile Direct I knew it was time to seek other options. True to the reviews, the Tribeca staff were friendly and helpful throughout my quick visit. I had arrived way earlier than my scheduled appointment and they were gracious enough to take me in early. It took only a few minutes to fill out the required medical forms while the receptionist contacted my dental care provider to verify my insurance coverage. The dental assistant came to collect me right after and I was guided towards a private room in the back. The staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. Not an easy task since I get very nervous at the dentist (childhood fears that never went away). My dentist examined my teeth and went over a game plan to fix my smile and also covered the upfront costs with me. The pricing is pretty transparent with no hidden fees or additional costs. In under 25 minutes I was in and out with my 3D scans complete and a follow up scheduled as soon as my scans are ready! I will update this review as I go through treatment. After 11 months, my Invisalign journey is about to come to an end. It had its ups and downs. It was expensive ($3,700 total) and at times painful, but in the end, it was worth it. First off, despite the name of this place, it's located in CHINATOWN, not Tribeca. I guess they figured that Tribeca is more upscale than Chinatown and having Tribeca in the name would increase business. Anyway, I'm a 28 year old who always hated the dentist. When I was a kid, I used to cry after a trip to the dentist. I hated having shit shoved in my mouth and I was scared of those ominous drills. When I was a teenager, my parents wanted me to get braces like my older brother but I vehemently refused. As a result of having crooked teeth, I didn't get the jobs or the babes. After 10 years of this nonsense, I saw something about Invisalign in AM New York. I did some research and decided to try it out. I decided to get the procedure done here because at the time they had the cheapest price (about a month later, I saw an ad for another orthodontist who offered Invisalign at a cheaper price. Minus one star). They also had a solid rating on Yelp. Dr. Dorfman was very friendly and helpful. She explained what the process entailed. Afterwards, this hot, Asian dental hygienist took the x-rays and then put this gooey, Play Doh-like substance in my mouth (probably to measure my teeth so they can make the correct size trays). I came back about a week later to pick up a set of 3 trays. In case you're not familiar with Invisalign, it is a set of plastic trays used to correct the alignment of your teeth. I met with Dr. Dorfman or one of the dental hygienists every 6-8 weeks to make sure that my teeth were shifting correctly and to pick up a set of 3 or 4 trays (I required a total of 22 trays). The first 2 weeks of Invisalign were pure hell. I could not stop drooling, the plastic trays kept cutting my tongue, and my teeth were tender. I was very tempted to quit. Nevertheless, I didn't quit because I wanted perfect teeth too badly. I was sick of having crooked teeth. Once my mouth got used to the trays, the pain went away. In addition to having to keep the trays on 20-22 hours a day and not being able to eat with the trays on, I had to brush my teeth after EVERY meal. Since I attend law school, that created many awkward situations. I kept a toothbrush, toothpaste, small bottle of mouthwash, and some disposable cups in my locker. Once, I went on a trip to DC. I brushed my teeth in the stall of the men's bathroom at Union Station using a bottle of Poland Spring and a disposable toothbrush. Because of all of the Invisalign restrictions, I lost 15 pounds. So ladies, if you want to lose weight without going on one of these cockamamie low carb diets, try Invisalign! If you're doing Invisalign, you also have to floss. In 28 years prior to Invisalign, I NEVER flossed. However, once I flossed and smelled and looked at all the crap that was on the string, I quickly realized that brushing alone is insufficient dental hygiene. I'm not an expert on flossing, but Target sells disposable floss strings. I wish that Invisalign was cheaper than $3,700, but in the real world, you have to spend money to get what you want. This was a first time appointment for me: x-rays, exam, cleaning and also in-house teeth whitening. Overall my rating for this establishment is excellent and I was thoroughly impressed. It takes a LOT for me to be impressed in NYC. I will break down my experience below. Front desk/check in - Very simple process and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Pricing was very straightforward. X-ray tech (Forget her name)- Very friendly and communicative. Such a nice person. Made sure I was comfortable multiple times. Also checked up on me throughout my visit to see if I needed anything. Dental Hygienist (Fabian) - Did a very thorough job cleaning. Incredibly careful and detailed work. Asked if I had any sensitivity or pain and took steps to make sure I was comfortable. Demonstrated more effective ways to clean certain spots that I needed to improve on cleaning in the future. Was also real friendly and just an all around nice person. Dentist (Dr. Leonetti) - Thoroughly checked my x-rays and cleaning that was performed to make sure everything was done properly and to make final touch ups. Went over my x-rays with me and informed me on how to take good care of my mouth in the future. Also checked up on me multiple times throughout my visit to make sure everything was going well and to make sure that I was comfortable. Whitening process (Forget his name) - The person doing this made sure it was as painless as possible. During each 20 minute session (3 total), and between them, the staff member made sure I was comfortable and not in pain. Suctioning was done frequently, and steps were taken to remedy any pain or sensitivity issues from the process. Final Verdict: This practice is amazing and blew away any expectations I had. My teeth are incredibly white now and I did not expect as much improvement as I see in the mirror. I kind of wish I was asked to do a testimonial about the difference lol. read more

I can happily write that I did not die from my root canal, today! In fact, thanks to Tribeca Dental and Dr. Bobby, who was fabulous, it was a very positive experience. I emailed for an appt on Saturday and by Sunday night had a confirmation for an appt for the very next day. I've had a very positive experience with both my visits, the first for a full mouth of X-rays, along with a cleaning, which both were probably the best experiences I've had. I usually experience pain with the trays that are used in the mouth for X-rays, but (I believe it was) Fabian had a very gentle touch and made sure the trays fit comfortably. Also, his cleaning was very thorough, yet gentle. I really appreciated the positive experience. The office is very clean and the entire staff friendly. When I was in Los Angeles and looking for an option to straighten my teeth, I was quoted $5,000 for thick metal braces at USC faculty practice, $6,900 for thin braces from a private practice and $11,000 for Invisalign in Woodland Hills. I believe for Invisalign and a retainer, I've only spent $3,700 total here, which was a steal. And it's pretty amazing too, since I have what most dentists call a complex case.
