I truly dislike going to the dentist, so when I find someone I like I stay with them for as long as possible! Dr. Z is an awesome dentist and the reason I'm even a patient here in the first place. She was my dentist at another office but left at some point during the early part of the pandemic, and I found her online and followed her to Tribeca Dental Design. I have not-so-perfect teeth and Dr. Z doesn't push to get work done and doesn't make me feel bad about the crooked teeth as well. She's also kind during procedures and asking whether I'm okay or need a break, all of which I appreciate. I've also had a great experience with the front desk staff and other assistants, and I'm sure the other doctors here are wonderful too. When the dental practice I've been going to since forever was out of network, I had some homework to find a new one. Tribeca Dental Design outlined positive reviews and making an appointment a month or so ago was headache free. My appointment was yesterday and the staff was cordial upon my arrival. There was paperwork, more than I expected or experienced but it was fine. Minutes later, I was called to the room for full set of xrays--bite wing and a panoramic view (sophisticated xray equipment with images taken while standing up). Took all of 2 minutes. My observation regarding space/rooms was mixed. There were several rooms but they weren't proper rooms with walls and a door. Their rooms were more open and easy to hear conversations and drilling separated by low partitions. My hygienist was unavailable so my new dentist was both hygienist and dental professional. She did an excellent cleaning job and checked in with me along the way to ensure I was doing okay. I felt she was knowledgeable and made recommendations without being pushy. Only thing is that I expected the oral cancer screening to be more thorough. In the past, I've had dentists who checked all around my tongue and underside while examining my neck area. Not this time to my dismay. Overall, my opinion was favorable and I would recommend this practice. Satisfied. read more

WONDERFUL DENTISTS - Sent me home for free after another dentist tried to scam me! Very glad to have found genuine and honest dentists when so many in New York are complete scam artists. I went in for 6 fillings that another dentist told me I needed, only to find out that the fillings were unnecessary as I had no cavities! Full explanation: I recently had a bad experience at Expert Dental where they told me I had 6 cavities that needed fillings, two of which were so severe they likely needed root canals. Because my overall experience at Expert Dental was negative, I decided to do the fillings here at Tribeca Dental Design instead. The people at TDD were very helpful and friendly and were able to get me an appointment right away. I went in expecting a long and painful afternoon of 6 fillings for my 6 cavities, and hopeful that no root canal would be necessary. Turns out none of it was necessary at all! I should mention that the X-ray I got at the other dentist took about 15 minutes and was very painful. At Tribeca Dental Design they used the same exact machine but the X-ray was completely painless and took about 2 minutes. They also have private TVs set up right in front of the chair (like on an airplane) and they let me choose what channel I wanted to watch which was very nice. After the X-ray the dentist came in to look at my teeth. To my shock, he said that he didn't see any cavities. I was under the impression that I had 6 and would need some very expensive fillings. To be sure, he asked his colleague to double check and she came to the same conclusion: Zero cavities. They did not charge me for the consultation or the X-ray. Sent me home for free when I was prepared to pay $500+ for the fillings. Really grateful that I went here for a second opinion rather than listening to the first dentist who was happy to random drill holes into my mouth if I was willing to pay for it. Very very happy with my experience at Tribeca Dental Design and feel very grateful that they saved me from an expensive, painful, and completely unnecessary procedure. read more

Avoid this place. Had appointment cancelled for being a few minutes late. Never mind spending $40 for a cab stuck in traffic to get there. They refused to accommodate me same day. That's never happened to any dentist I've been to. On my previous visit there was no hygienist, which is probably why they don't accommodate anyone who's late. Went here for a VERY PAINFUL cleaning after my usual hygenist, Hannah, quit. They did not tell me she was gone of course, I would have cancelled. Then, I stupidly got whitening trays. They gave me multiple syringes that no one could properly explain to me. Whitening is no joke - if you do it wrong, you can REALLY damage your teeth, not to mention be in serious pain! After 20 mins back and forth with no clarity on how to use, I asked for a refund, and they were very rude. To the horrible office staff - I urge you to keep the recording of our "interaction" as you so smugly annouced to me, because it will show you putting a patient's health (mine) at risk. Putting patient health at risk is NOT okay. I cannot recommend this place, due to my now multiple bad experiences here! read more

Tribeca Dental serviced me with a cleaning that left my teeth gleaning. My visit was pretty straightforward and no frills. I received a x-ray, cleaning and dental exam. My cleaning was thorough and I felt as if the hygienist pluck away all anything that didn't belong. The piercing from the tools were sometimes intimidating but it's all for a good results. Dr. Han was friendly and admitted to not finding anything wrong with my teeth. I complained about spacing but he convinced it was nothing concerning and I might not want to give up a few grand for the service. I respect any service provider that doesn't just want to take my money. All the staff were pleasant for a Friday evening. I would only recommend that there were hooks on ledge in the bathroom for your personal belongings. That made the restroom visit a little awkward. Ohh btw there were no giveaways.. I like to be rewarded with a shiny new toothbrush and toothpaste for my time spent in the dentist office. read more

What a SCAM this place is. I have always been afraid of going to new doctors in the city because there are unfortunately so many terrible ones who just want a cut from your insurance, Tribeca Dental Design is just that. Let's start off with the receptionists.. So out of touch, both speaking to me at the same time and one also tried to inform me that my husbands insurance was wrong when it was not..? Dr. Shin also very out of touch, I asked to see a different dentist and clearly no one listened when I requested Dr. Han because this doctor tells me I need to see a specialist, one that only THEY recommend and also I need to come back to see him two different times. All I could see in his eyes were money bags! I even called later on to get my X-rays and that was an issue because, of course, they want to only send them to doctors directly in their preferred practice. Do not even bother making an appointment to come in to this office, the cleanings are fine but other than that - go see a caring dentist and someone who will listen to you and not bypass you just to get you out the door. read more

Simply the best! :) I've only had routine work/check-ups here so far, but EVERYONE here - from Dr. Han and his associates to the dental hygienists and front desk receptionists - are terrific. Dr. Han really listens to you and cares about your well-being. They are also open on Saturdays, which is a huge bonus. Also, there are flatscreen TVs in every room to entertain you while you wait in the dentist's chair (which isn't for long at all). The office design is clean and modern - very "TriBeCa". (The wall art featuring clowns always makes me pause, however, but to each his/her own...) If you need to contact them, I suggest calling because they don't seem to check their email. I almost didn't want to post this review here out of fear that my fave place will be completely booked when I need to come in - but this dental practice is just too good not to share! read more

found this place through coworkers. I called and made sure they took the insurance. I showed up and filled out some brief paperwork. they called me back within 5 minutes (I barely had time to charge my phone, 1st world problems). the dental hygienist did a good job. I didn't bleed a lot and she cleaned my teeth well. I can see the spaces! LOL. The Dentist was a cool guy. He's really conversational and was very friendly. I'll definitely be going back. I am very impressed with this dentist office. I have been there two times and I have always been seen on time. All the staff are really friendly and informative. Dr. Han greets me every time I have been there and he made me feel comfortable before having a procedure done. It is located next to many subway lines and if you are a little early to your appointment, you can browse around the many stores in the area. I highly recommend Tribeca Dental Design. This is a very long overdue review since I first came to this office years ago. Over the past few years I've had the most incredible dental care from both Dr. Shin and Dr. Han. Both are incredibly down to earth, friendly and professional. Not many people can say that they'd like nothing more than to go out and have a beer with their dentist. I count myself lucky enough to be able to say that I'm one of the handful that can. They have their patients best interest at heart and won't try to push additional services. For example I have had a slight shift/displacement on my lower canine tooth. I brought it up to Dr. Shin and asked about aligners and instead of cashing in on my concerns he told me that he thought it would be unnecessary and alleviated my concern. Scheduling is super easy, the hygienists are incredibly friendly ladies. If you care about quality and also want to meet some amazing human beings who make going to the dentist a positive experience then just go here because you won't regret it. Thanks guys! read more

Both appointments were kept on time and I was in and out of there pain free. They do an efficient job cleaning and Dr Shin did my small filling repair within 15mins. I think the only Yelp reviews I write are on dentists! Well, it just goes to show that dentists are very important to me. As anyone can tell after reading my many dental reviews, I'm terrified of dental work. Wait- correction: I USED TO BE terrified of dental work. Magically, Tribeca Dental Design was able to help me overcome my phobia within five minutes of conversation. I used to avoid the dentist for years, but in the past two months, I've already visited this office four times, and I'm scheduled to come back in for a cleaning next week. I feel absolutely no anxiety when I'm at Tribeca Dental Design which is shocking since the thought of going to the dentist used to keep me up all night in tears. I'm not too sure how Dr. Han and his staff do it. I thought I'd need sedation in order to get over my fears, but I almost feel like I could get through a filling here with no novocaine at all. I'm completely at ease! I have some thoughts as to why this might be: * Dr. Han is very knowledgeable in regards to the latest dentistry tools and techniques. * Dr. Han is very confident. It is obvious that he knows he can solve most dental problems quickly and easily. I had Dr. Han successfully save a tooth that a previous well known dentist had said was a complete goner. When Dr. Han found out that I was expecting that tooth to be extracted, he was shocked. What some dentists find impossible, he finds simple. * Dr. Han is dedicated to giving his patients great service for an honest price. He is not motivated by money. He's motivated by a passion for helping others. * Dr. Han and all the assistants and administrative staff members are so...cool. I could talk to everyone there for hours. You just want to befriend all of them! I've found myself hanging out to chat after a root canal. Who cares if half your face is numb! It's fun to be there! * The office is very modern and comfortable and doesn't have that sickening dental smell! Dr. Han explained why other offices smell this way, but now I forget what he said. I guess what matters is, you come in here and don't feel immediately nauseated! :) * Finally, they take insurance, and the cost is so reasonable. You know you can trust everyone there, because they do whatever they can to work with you financially. Anyways, I'm telling everyone I know to visit this office. Seriously I am soo glad my friend at work recommended this place. Dr Han is the BEST!!! I promise see my example of just some of my dental mishaps in the past. Example 1: Old dentist: The pain you are feeling is from a fracture in your tooth. I can't find it. So try eating on the other side. Dr Han: hmmm... It looks like your cavity filling may need to be replaced. It is pretty close to your nerve endings. That explains the pain you are feeling. I'm going to be conservative. Let's add sensitivity medicine and make some adjustments. But if that doesn't work we will need to replace your cavity filling. :) Example 2: Old dentist: You have receding gums.. you need to see this periodontist or your teeth will fall out. Dr Han: Yes, you have receding gums but it looks ok. As long as it doesn't recede anymore then you are fine. We can just monitor that.. :) read more

Disclaimer: If this review makes no sense it's because I'm on pain killers. Today was my second visit here. I knew I was going to have some dental work and wanted to wait before I shared my review. I agreed with my fellow yelpers. Doc Han is the Man! First visit the lovely Eva, the dental hygenist, gave me an awesome cleaning and was very personable . The rest of the staff was equally professional and friendly. The Tribeca digs are snazzy! Second visit, Doc Han did some serious drilling and stitching. Yea the old gal lost a tooth and was being prepped for an implant. He is quick yet thorough, friendly and professional. He explained the procedure, put you at ease and had an excellent way of engaging you and making you feel like an old friend. I love the TV's on the dental chair. Made the drilling, poking, cutting, sewing process bearable. I'll be back in 3 to 4 months for the rest of my procedure and will be sure to keep you posted. read more

Wow what a completely different experience. After my last disappointing review, the folks at Tribeca Dental Design persistently reached out to me to make another appointment and give them a 2nd shot. I was skeptical, but I did it anyway (they are very conveniently located near my office). Allow me to just say: I am SO glad that I did! Amy (the head receptionist) was very accommodating with my schedule and allowed me to come late in the evening. I was in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes before I was called back for my cleaning. I do not remember the young lady's name but she did a really good job (to be completely honest, one of the best cleanings I have had in my life). Very thorough and gentle, which I appreciate because I have sensitive gums. Plus she gave me some great advice on types of electric toothbrushes she would recommend, among other things. Finally, the dentist came in. I saw William Han, and I can't compliment him enough. What a kind, gentle dentist! Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. I am so glad I went back to TDD for a 2nd chance. Bad experiences happen sometimes, but they showed me that it was a blip on the radar and certainly not a regular occurrence. It was my first time seeing a dentist in 6 years and I am glad I did! I had a horrific experience in the past so I made sure to do my research before I booked an appointment with any other dentist. I am glad I did because Dr. Han is really what everyone said he is, the BEST! He is attentive, listens to your needs, cracks jokes, very knowledgeable and even his staff, Eva was amazing. She talked me through everything and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. I told him that my past dentist claimed I had 3 cavities, which I thought was pretty extreme being that I take really good care of my teeth. I quickly left the old place without looking back. But Dr. Han is very conservative and assured me that I had no cavities that needed to be filled, but will continue to monitor it in future appointments. I left there feeling great and with a brighter smile. I am definitely making another appointment to see him again in six months and recommending him to all of my friends! Pros: Lots of magazine while you wait, TV in each room, amazing staff, great location, friendly, knowledgeable, and takes my insurance!!! Cons: NONE! read more

Kay! I love this place! Super conveniently located on the same block as the subway station! It was nice and quiet. One other person in the waiting area with me. Nothing like those crowded clinics. My appointment began on time. The staff were super friendly and genuinely concerned about my personal comfort. I watched TV. The dental hygienist was FANTASTIC! I want to say that her name is Frances Estevez. (Shortened version of a longer first name though) She was amazing and explained everything she was performing for me. Really sweet lady. Doctor Huang was cool and down to earth. Wasn't upset when I began falling asleep during the treatment. I'll be setting up another appointment soon. Oh, and some people are speculating that the reviews are staged or fake. Well, mine is not! Hopefully my next experience will be just as good. read more

The BEST! So glad I found Dr. Han and Tribeca Dental Design. Like most, I don't list 'visiting the dentist' as one of my favorite extracurricular activities, but it has to get done. Dr Han and his wonderful staff made an actually PLEASANT experience to go for a cleaning and subsequent work. The office feels like a spa - it's all eco-friendly and very high-tech with tvs at each station and the latest in x-ray technology. The hygienists are both sweet and gentle and I got to watch Sex and the City during the cleaning (don't judge!). I came back a week later to redo a filling from a few years back and my appointment happened to be during the earthquake. While everybody outside screamed bloody murder (really? did your water bottle even fall over??), Dr Han and his staff calmly continued on with their work. It had to be the quickest filling I've ever had in my life, amazing! Oh and I chuckled when he later asked me 'What does aftershock mean?'. And he didn't knock a tooth out during the tremors. These people are skilled! They made the billing process super easy - and actually my insurance ended up covering more than they originally thought, so they emailed me letting me know they were giving me a refund to my card then MAILED me the receipt from the transaction. Now that is service! I've since referred 2 friends to Dr Han and they are very happy as well. I wouldn't hesitate to give Dr Han my full recommendation! I have been going to Tribeca Dental Design for years, they have dealt with several issues of mine. Their dental work is superb, never any sharp edges or uncomfortable biting issues with any of my fillings. Before Tribeca, I was going to a dentist that was horrible ( bruised my mouth and gave me a horrible fillings)..I have to say that they are best dental experience I have ever had. I have a lot of problems with my teeth and they are very helpful and understanding. The first time they fixed a filling I got scared and started crying.. this was first time I went to Tribeca.They were soooo nice, didn't make me feel awkward even joked around with me and they gave me a flawless filling. read more

This is a great dental office. They have great equipment, clean and updated desig decor, and friendly staff. I had Dr. Shin who is probably the youngest dentist I've met, but he was super thorough, knowledgeable, and even conducted his own cleaning. I'm not sure if this is their common practice, since they have a lot of hygienists as well. I highly recommend this office. From calling to make an appointment to filling out the forms as a new patient to the appointment itself was super professional and efficient. I went in for a simple cleaning with Joanne. I had to find a new dentist after moving here and am very happy I consulted Yelp. The receptionist was very helpful from scheduling the appointment to taking care of my insurance when i came in. Really like the new technology they are using for teeth cleaning. It made the whole process go much faster! Also, there was a flat-screen tv above the chair that you can focus on rather than the work that is happening on your teeth. It wasn't crowded, and my appointment was exactly on time (imagine that?) I got a teeth cleaning, which was gentle and effective at the same time! The dental assistant even showed me HOW to brush some of the hard to reach places in my mouth (I have one tooth that's a little tricky) I left with whiter teeth, healthier gums, and a complimentary toothbrush floss and toothpaste! okay, best part ever.. The best dentist ever. And the best dental assistant ever. Dr. Han is super nice and thorough. The place is spotless. And Mora the assistant is obsessed with brushing and flossing and has developed her own sophisticated techniques. She spent a good 10 minutes with me teaching me her methods, and my teeth and gums are much healthier now thanks to her. Everyone there seems to genuinely care about their patients' dental health. Modern office with a minimalist design, Tribeca Dental Design is the most relaxing dentist that I've ever been to. One of the things I appreciate most is how organized this dental office is - they know exactly who I am, ask the right questions, and always check my insurance. They always start my appointment on time; I have never waited. Dr. Han and his team are the most friendly people in a doctor's/dentist's office who I've ever met. They genuinely want to know you, and care about your health. As for the actual check-up, they're as gentle as possible and they have given me the least painful cleanings. So let me start off by saying that I've had some very horrible experiences with dentists in the past.... And well Tibeca Dental completely blew away all my fears and doubts! I did extensive research online for great dental offices in the city, and Tribeca Dental was always at the front of the line... I was still a little sceptical.. I mean how could anyone really like going to get their teeth drilled right? So I emailed the office to set up my appointment, and expected to hear back from them in a few days. Nope I had a response the very next morning asking me how soon I need an appointment. WHAT?! it had sent the email 8 hours ago!!! and yet here I was speaking to a very kind young lady. After about five minutes of simple questions and jokes I was able to confirm my appointment for the next day (Amazing right!) So I make to the office, and speak to the front desk staff, and retrieve my forms (like 4 things to fill out really). Within 3 minutes of handing in my forms I was being asked to come to the back and prepare myself for an exam. Now if you remember going to the dentists as a child you remember waiting for seemed like days before even being seen... then meeting some very unfriendly, and rough hands *shivers I entered the office at 11am, and left by 12pm. Not imbressed? well in that time I had spoken with the dentists, and her assistant. Had an x-ray taken. Went through a detailed explanation of the issue, and corrective actions needed. Was explained the costs before having any work done, and finally had a root canal. All in an hour, and was sent on my merry little way. I have another appointment coming up in the next few days, and I'm actually excited to have my teeth worked on. If you've ever had any apprehensions about seeing a dentist, I would strongly recommend coming here so they can change your mind. read more

Was visiting NY over the weekend when on Saturday morning while having breakfast, when my front crown fell out. Panic. My daughter, who is a savy techie got on my IPhone, located Dr. Han at Tribeca Dental Design. Within 5 minutes, received a call back that I had an appointment. Took a cab to his office which is beautiful and very professional. While sitting there, it occurred to me that, because I was seeing a NY doctor, I expected his fee to be much higher than back home in Kingston, Pa. It wasn't, to my surprise. And, Dr. Han was just wonderful. He made me feel very comfortable, was very honest with me and his credentials--UNBELIEVEABLE. TOP NOTCH DOC. For the first time in my life I will actually look forward to visiting the dentist every 6 months. Returned for some more complicated procedures than the 6 month cleanings involving extractions and implants. Have to say Dr Oh had me in stitches while pulling my tooth.
