We were a first timers at Wallers, and decided to take a chance on this place on a Friday night. Even though I read others reviews, I wasn't quite sure what to expect....and after arriving a tad after 6, parking was very hard to come by.... This is usually a good sign in my book. After being pleasantly greeted after walking in, I saw a lot of the wait staff and the bartenders like busy bees.... All of them seemed to be in a happy mood. We were ushered to our table in the large dining area. Pictures posted by others were accurate. Several larger groups of 8+ were around and the room was a buzz of chatter.... Not too loud, just right. Our server Nicole gave us some time to read thru the menus and we ordered after a bit. Since it was Friday night, we chose the fish fry, my wife the beer battered cod, myself the peach. While we waiting we enjoyed view out the large glass windows that overlooked the lake and saw the pontoon boat launch and return with guests, the free ride around the lake with Captain Max (who by the way had some great stories to share on our trip, a couple seemed pretty fishy). Our dinner arrived what seemed like eternity, however being patient was rewarding.... Both selections of fish were awesome... some of the best beer battered cod and perch we've had across a dozen counties. Guys, it's worth it. All around the staff was great, the view during diner was excellent, and the boat ride was like icing on the famous carrot cake they serve.... My only downgrade on the experience was the very long wait for dinner. It turned out to be well worth it, however for fried fish, well beyond my expectations on time. Now.... We went there as a group of 18 people celebrating 3 birthdays on Sunday April 20th. The restaurant is beautiful and has an incredible view of lake wallace. Our server was Brie, a beautiful young woman with a lightning bolt for energy. She was everywhere like a flash. Need something-- flash she was there to take care of it. She was friendly, helpful, energetic - a perfect employee. The food was great. I personally had a steak 6 oz filet mignon. Wonderful and done perfectly! The other 17 people had varying choices off the menu but everyone loved their meal. After dinner many had ice cream drinks. I personally had this absolutely incredible chocolate cake that was made in house by the owner and i savored every bite. I have to say that they had some great appetizers on the menu including deviled eggs. An appetizer i don't see often but really enjoy. Personally im already looking forward to going back! I rated 5 stars but i would give them more if yelp would let me! I wish i had remembered to take pictures of the food or the view of the lake. Absolutely no regrets having this being our choice for dinner. We stopped in tonight and had just a wonderful experience. The hostess was super kind when we walked in and wow, what a beautiful place they have. A wonderful view of the lake and just a super open dining area so you get the view from where ever you are seated. We decided to start with a drink at the bar, and got wonderful service and great drinks. There was no wait at this time for a table, and we sat down quickly. Everything we got was just so incredibly delicious. Our waitress was so kind, and just great at what she does. We have no complaints from our time. Presumably the owner even came and checked on us (and was serving food to other tables) so we thought that was really a nice touch that he was present. Oh and don't skip dessert!!! Oh my goodness, amazingggg crepe cake, cheesecake, and ice cream drinks. They even offer pontoon boat rides while you wait or after dinner! Highly recommend, we will be back! read more

I was disappointed with our dining experience. We had reservations for 5:15 p.m., and the restaurant was not particularly busy when we arrived. After being seated, we waited approximately 15 minutes without any server coming to our table to greet us or take our drink order. I eventually went to the hostess stand to inquire whether we had been assigned a server, and she assured me she would have someone come over. Our server eventually arrived and took our drink order. Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of blue cheese-stuffed olives for my martini, which was also disappointing. After receiving our cocktails, we placed our food order. The relish tray appetizer took quite some time to arrive, and our entrées took an extraordinarily long time to be served. When my prime rib finally arrived, it was noticeably fatty and was cooked medium rather than the medium-rare temperature I had requested. Given how long we had already waited for our meals, I chose not to mention it or send it back, but it added to my overall disappointment with the dining experience. From what we observed, the restaurant did not appear to have clearly assigned server stations. Our server was not only responsible for our table but was also serving tables located throughout the restaurant, which seemed inefficient and poorly organized. Overall, the dining experience was not particularly enjoyable. The one bright spot of the evening was the bartender, who was fabulous. We chose to have our after-dinner cocktails at the bar, and the service there was excellent. read more

The food was mediocre at best. My family enjoyed the pretzel and cheese appetizer. I had the Mac n cheese and it was alright. I also received a salad and ordered Caesar dressing. This dressing tasted funky so I would steer clear of it. My father got the schnitzel and that tasted fine but the soup he received smell and tasted funny. My mother said the fish tasted all right and had no complaints. Overall, the food was nothing memorable. The staff was kind to us the whole time. read more

My wife & I went to celebrate 9ur Wedding Anniversary. When we were seated, the was a card on the table for us. I got my usual Baked French Onion soup, prime rib, potato, and side of green beans. My wife had a salad, prime rib, and potato. Ciara was very attentive to all our needs. She also included a "bowl" of their crabby/mushroom soup. ON HER !!!! We were here on the recommendations of friends. We had a group of 8. The salad bar and French onion soup were very good. The staff was excellent in service and help. Three people in our group had salmon and enjoyed it. Two had the sirloin medium rare and it came at the proper temperature. My wife had the sample that she enjoyed but the steak was more medium well than medium rare. With such a small piece of steak they should just flash it. Two of us (which includes me) had the Cowboy Ribeye. We both ordered medium rare and one came more medium well and mine was more medium than rare/medium rare. The one was sent back and the replacement came at the proper temperature but was a very grisly piece of meat. See the picture. My steak had mushrooms and onions added. The whole meal lacked flavor. It didn't look like the steak had been seasoned beforehand or even using a good steak seasoning for cooking. A few of us had the garlic mashed potatoes as well and they were on the dry side. So for my $48 steak it was very disappointing. The French onion soup was the best. But for $20 I could buy the same piece of meat and make it much better at home. For the extra money I want something as good as or better than that. I'm not sure I'd come back here again or I'd like to have something else from their menu. read more

I have been going to the various supper clubs in this location since the 80's and, after eating at Waller's, was very disappointed in the food and the cost of the experience. The new owners have dramatically increased prices while removing the salad bar and complimentary bread ($9 bread can be ordered as an appetizer). Here were the reviews from our table: -The Pistachio Salmon was lacking flavor -The burger was good, but not worth $17 -The prime rib was overcooked -The Wedge Salad was served with the wrong dressing -French onion soup, chicken piccata, loaded baked potato, and fries were fine, but not spectacular The service was good and the complimentary pontoon ride, guided by Captain Maxim, was the highlight of the dining experience. read more

We went for Easter Brunch. A beautiful spot and friendly service staff. We had a reservation around 2pm, and there were a number of their plates that had run out-quiche, and honey ham (some Easter staples). My nieces' plates came out 10 minutes after the rest of our food, and had to ask for syrup for the French toast (the syrup was hard and not runny like normal syrup). Although I'm not sure I'd define it as a true supper club (at least in the traditional sense) - don't let let that throw you. Really great meal at Wallace Lake Supper Club. The Pan Fried Walleye is worth the drive from anywhere. It's truly the best I've ever had. The ribs (ordered with the sauce on the side)- moist, tender, perfectly seasoned along side a small order of fried shrimp. The Baked French Onion Soup and salad bar - delicious. They also pour a great drink and when you walk in the door can see the Prime Rib Aging Case. Service was great, staff was warm and inviting. From the dining room there is a great view of the lake and once the weather cooperates there is outdoor dining and a fire pit. We're looking forward to returning. McHenry's on Mondays, a pop-up that takes over Wallace Lake Supper Club on Monday nights, has been posting some tasty looking food on social media, particularly a Chicken Caesar sandwich. I looked at their menu online and saw another item that sounded interesting (more on that below) so I decided to give them a try. Ultimately I ended up ordering the chicken Caesar sandwich and prime rib bites as an appetizer. Unfortunately, their online menu lists a couple different items that they don't actually serve. Specifically, I asked about a certain pizza and three different employees told me they had never heard of it. In addition, the chicken Caesar sandwich that I ordered came with grated parmesan, but the same picture they post week after week on social media clearly shows shaved parmesan. A manager told me that it used to come with shaved and now comes with grated. If that's the case, don't keep posting the same old picture cause it's misleading. Also, the prime rib bites I ended up ordering are not on their menu, but has been a "special" that they've had since December according to social media. At that point it's been nine months and you might as well put it on the regular menu. Finally, their hours according to social media are 4pm to 8pm. Really, though, that means the bar opens at 4pm, but the kitchen doesn't open until 4:30pm. Why they can't be the same I don't understand and it was a waste of half an hour since I got there at 4pm. All that said, the food was great. The prime rib bites were lightly breaded then fried. Little pieces of heaven. Even with the parmesan issue I enjoyed the sandwich. They butterflied the chicken breast and blackened it so it seemed like a ton of good flavor between the dressing and the blackened chicken. Now that some expectations have been set for me, I would go back for the food. I wouldn't go right when social media says they open up because that's obviously not accurate if you want to order food right away and I wouldn't trust the online menu. We took our kids for their first Wisconsin Supper Club experience and I have to say this place didn't disappoint. The bar and dining room were a quintessential supper club experience, wood paneling everywhere. The bar was a nice size and very open. The salad bar was a nice addition to the meal. We started with frog legs and cheese curds. The frog legs were very tender and tasty. The cheese curds were really good. Then I had the French onion soup and it was really good. Lots of onions and a good broth taste. Beef Wellington was very tender, my waitress suggested ordering rare and it was a perfect medium rare. Fork tender. Lovely views and great service. I came here for a buffet-style brunch on a Sunday, sadly they did not offer prime rib on this particular day. Food was okay, nothing particularly noteworthy. I would compare it to your average supper club AYCE (all-you-can-eat) Sunday brunch. I was there toward the end of the brunch serving time so that probably had some influence on my experience; however, wouldn't you want all of your patrons to have the same experience? I would be willing to try out some of the items on the food menu but would not go out of my way to come to brunch. read more

We live on the lake so we've seen that the parking lot has been crowded. we decided last minute to bring some friends for dinner this past Saturday. We chose to come in at 4:30 instead of waiting for a table at 7:30. The owner came over and introduced himself since it wasn't too busy when we were seated. The waitress was super friendly. We had heard about this place from some acquaintances, so we trekked out to rural West Bend to find it. The building sits on the shore of Wallace Lake, but as another reviewer pointed out, there is no outdoor seating and you only get lake views from the bar. On top of that, the bar is a long oval and if you sit in the wrong place, your back will be to the windows. The dining room gives off a cozy feel. It felt like the ceilings were a little lower, the lighting was dimmer and it is here that you really get the feel that you are in a cabin. There is a large fireplace, but I'm not sure if it is ever used or just merely decoration. The tables are close enough that you can hear the conversations of the diners next to you. While it wasn't busy on the evening we went, I can imagine that, with the room packed, the din must be crazy loud. I had the 8 oz. prime rib and shrimp dinner with mashed potatoes. It was good, but it wasn't anything special, in my opinion. The steak was more on the rare side than I would have liked and there was very little, if any, seasoning on it or the shrimp. The mashed potatoes were a bit drier than I am accustomed to, and the gravy wasn't very flavorful. Maybe the cook/chef was having an off night? Wow, what a great place. From the moment you walked in and were greeted by the friendly staff, the small-town atmosphere with exceptional service. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. A nice selection of traditional appetizers and main course dishes. Our party of six had everything from salmon fish fry, seafood enchiladas, fish fry and Cordon Blue. But first it all started with a very nice freshly prepared salad bar. Service staff was excellent, funny Hostess and excellent server Jessica. Last night we came for German Night. My schnitzel with mustard cream sauce was wonderful. Our server Deanna was friendly and attentive. Ooof, sad and Disappointing Monday night dinner. We love the places' new look since the re-vamp as well as the delish salad bar. Tonight the kitchen hosed-up both dinners, and it was 80% empty. Requested real cheddar, got loads of American. Husband's burger came out 98% bloody/raw, it was barely seared. Deanna, server was kind & very efficient, but we sent both back. We waited....and burgers finally came. Mgr Tammy arrived tableside after dinner after complete run down by Deanna, and looked at us blankly, encouraging us to RE-EXPLAIN IT ALL AGAIN. So, we mentioned the issues with both dinners and suggested she might compensate something (a drink or 2) for our time & trouble - (I mean, why the hell wouldn't SHE suggest that?!) Usually it encourages your client's to return after a bad experience. Or maybe a polite, "oh, Sorry that happened, have a drink or dessert on us?" No apology, nothing. Tammy (this mgr) asked "did they eventually get it right?" ...Yes, mostly (mediocre expensive food to say the least) ...."Then what's the problem!?" She was defiant, indignant, hostile, aloof and essentially suggested we were just asking for freebies. She stormed off, saying she'd adjust the bill. She took off 20%. It was ~$8 on a $44 bill. Wow. Just wow. Attitude is ever everything, so she really ruined it for us. We will never return. Tammy is a dreadful and inept manager who wouldn't understand appropriate customer service if it bit her in the arse. We were happy when the restaurant added on the beautiful dining room, but sadly the quality of food has gone way down since. Under the prior ownership, the quality of food was always excellent as was the service. Seven of us had dinner here and five of us were very disappointed with the quality of the food. We told the waitress about our disappointment and nothing was done about it. Sorry, but we won't back. You've lost a group of seven friends who dine out frequently. Under new ownership as Wallers by the Lake, this place is fantastic. Great food, reasonably priced and excellent service. Just ate there for the first time last night. Blackened Salmon Bowl, Wallers Burger, steak, and salmon entrees were done to perfection. Many people complained that it's no longer a supper club, which is true. No salad bar but a nice menu. The ambiance is very nice and welcoming. For those who miss the supper club just give it a chance. We need more good restaurants in West Bend. read more

Our friend group has been exploring various supper clubs in the Sheboygan area. We were pleasantly surprised at the large bar and great dining area. It's all windows and overseeing the lake is beautiful. I ordered a tall, single shot Tito's and Lemonade. Absolutely SHOCKED that it cost $9.50...the small was still $7.00....that's a little pricey. All of us had a different meal and none were anything to talk about. I had the chicken cordon bleu and when it arrived it looked exactly like my baked potato. I had a steak knife and had a very hard time cutting the chicken. It was so dry and found a large piece of fat on it also. It was inedible. Our service was great with Deanne doing a nice job. She was apologetic and comped our bill $10.00. Additionally, I ordered the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts as an appetizer and the sauce was really not tasty and the bacon was just so fatty. I did enjoy the salad bar. There wasn't any signage, but I guess they had hot bacon dressing. I would have enjoyed that but I had no idea it was there. Very nice place on Wallace Lake. Enjoyed the cheese and crackers at the bar which I guess that makes it a Supper Club. Now the bad... After being seated it took over 45 minutes to get our order of Poor Man's Lobster and the Cod Fish Fry. It came in shifts! The Poor Man's Lobster was a cluster of giant chunks of Cod was overcooked and swimming in butter. The battered cod was undercooked!! Their "World Famous Salad Bar" is nothing more than could be found at the local Pizza Hut. The waitress did the right thing by comping the fish fry and offered a complimentary desert.
