Been there twice to attempt to have me 2025 Silverado 2500 worked on. The first time was for a fuel pump concern, alignment issues etc. After reading the dtc's in the service aisle they told me they couldnt take it in for maintenence, that the diesel apprentice was too backed up and we dont have any loaners to give you so you should try hank graff chevrolet over an hour away. Sounds like they dont uave a diesel tech and are straight up denied a warranty drop off which after years of working for Chrysler across the street, I didn't even know was an option. Attempt number 2 was for an oil change and alignment, once again cant get past the service isle because the service writer is to inept to do her job correctly. Doesn't look at previous history to see I've had alignment issues since I bought the truck, doesnt have a tech look at it to see if its a defective component from the manufacture, just tells me its customer pay cause alignments aren't covered under wattanty. When I explain I've had since day one and she doubles down on it no being covered by warranty and gets offended when I tell here 12 months 12k miles is the fucking Industy standard. I know that because not only have I looked online at Chevrolets website and seen that although they normally dont warranty alignments, they can choose to cover manufacture defects for alignment issues to to 12 months 12k miles(trucks been out of alignment since i got it so it is in fact a manufacutere defect and no i didnt get to test drive it before i bought it otherwose i wouldnt have accepted it). So what's the issue with aligning my vehicle under warranty, are we incapable of contact gm to get the tech paid for an alignment or are we just dead set to stick to the wrong answers we've been trained on? According to carfax she finished out the repair order as complete even though no oil change or alignment was performed so at this point I have a dash rattle an alignment issue an intermittent trans clunk and no one to take it to unless I want to drive 1hr plus one way to find a gm dealer who will actually help read more

We would not recommend Wally Edgar Chevrolet after what we feel was a total mishandling of our vehicle situation. We brought our 2023 Chevrolet Equinox, with approximately 36,500 miles, to Wally Edgar Chevrolet after a check engine light appeared. After five days, the dealership provided a quote of $1,391.81 to repair a charge air cooler. When we requested additional details, we discovered that the quote included a $220 optional cleaning service. During the verbal estimate, this was not identified as an add-on service. This immediately raised concerns about transparency. We asked about warranty coverage, as we believed the repair might fall under the powertrain warranty. The dealership stated that it did not, but would not provide any diagnostic details beyond saying the component was "inoperable." They refused to provide test results, repair order notes, or confirmation that relevant GM service bulletins had been reviewed. When we contacted GM Support, the representative expressed surprise that the dealership would not provide this information. The representative also indicated that the repair should fall under the emissions warranty and mentioned a GM Technical Bulletin, PIP5927B, that addresses issues which may lead to charge air cooler failure. Despite several follow-up emails and requests, including outreach from GM Support, that documentation was not provided prior to authorizing the repair. The warranty manual explicitly lists the Charge Air Cooler and turbocharger assembly as covered components. Even so, the dealership maintained its position and did not provide supporting documentation to either GM or to us explaining the basis for denying coverage. Eventually, because we needed the vehicle returned, we authorized the repair. During the process, we were informed that the part was on national backorder and were told we would receive updates regarding availability. No updates were provided. After reaching out approximately one week later, we learned that the part had already arrived and that the repair was underway. Timely communication would have directly impacted our transportation planning and related expenses. Once the repair was completed, the final invoice included detailed diagnostic codes, specific failure descriptions, and reference to the applicable bulletin. This was precisely the information we had repeatedly requested before authorizing the repair. Providing that documentation earlier would have prevented unnecessary escalation and delay. Although the technical repair itself appears to have been performed correctly, the overall process was marked by a lack of proactive communication and transparency regarding both the diagnostic findings and the warranty determination. When we emailed questions, we received multiple phone calls without voicemails being left, which made it difficult to maintain clear documentation of communication. Clarity was obtained only after external escalation. While the vehicle has now been repaired, the handling of the situation significantly undermined our confidence in the dealership's transparency, accountability, and customer communication standards. read more

The person started out pretending to want to be helpful, assuring me they'll work around my schedule to get this closed (because I work, and your hours don't work with my hours). When I told them I would be able to close it on a particular day or two, I was given the illusion of consideration for my time (asking if we can do it ten days out). When I mentioned that I planned on taking time off work to finish this, they told me that it's just that they already have a lot of appointments that next week...Okay, I'm not one to think I'm anyone's only client, I have clients who think they are my only client, but you can't sell me a car for ten days because you're so busy??? That sounds like a great problem for YOU to have. For someone who needs a new vehicle as soon as possible (and this was known to the salesman), this just creates problems. So I'll either have to cancel my plans to go out of town to accommodate all of your sales, or I have to wait and rent a car to be able to see my family, because I never imagined it would take TEN days to close a CASH sale. But a friend who works for a different dealer informed me that the problem is more likely that I'm a cash sale and not financing. Apparently I'm worth much less to you as a cash buyer, because you get kick backs from the financing companies. The friend suggested that it's probably more expensive vehicles and finance buyers taking priority. And now I am and LAST time customer of a car dealership. read more

After paying for repairs it seemed as though they missed something or were deceptive about the work they did because I had the same issues. I called to let the Dealership know the vehicle was being towed back to them & I was transferred to the Service Desk Voicemail. This is the worst dealership I have ever worked with. They are deceptive, lying to my face saying they did not have my vehicle, they have no voicemail for the Service Desk, the tow truck driver never spoke to anyone there & don't have my key fob. After getting a ride to the dealership, I found the vehicle myself on their lot. After I had a ride home to get my spare key fob they found mine at the Service Desk. This place is a absolute joke, bought a 21 Silverado high country and traded in a 2014 high country, they took of my aftermarket wheels for the stock ones but damaged 2 of them badly, refused to admit any wrongdoing and I was called a liar that tried to get something for nothing after buying a truck like that, they called it aluminum corrosion (wheels never seen a winter so far) than it turned into curb damage (spokes are facing in with a plastic center cap sticking out) These people are not to be trusted and do not care one bit about customer satisfaction. Took me over a week to finally get some on the phone to be spoken to by the general manager and service manager like we went to high school together, raising their voice at me, telling me this time it's not gonna work like they messed my stuff up before.... And last but not least I bought a "certified" truck that is inspected on 200 points yet I had to come back to get all four rotors replaced because the truck was shaking so bad. First time here they did NOT rotate my tires even though they said the did. I caught them, there was a mark on the wheel and hubs could tell they didn't rotate. so back in I go. Second time in I asked for three things to be checked fixed. One of those items they lied and said was fine (that's a terrible lie, I told you it wasn't this isn't he said she said!) Then when I tried again, they just plain old didn't do anything. Just a waste of my time. I'm not coming in for service again. The point of the two free oil changes is to make me a lifetime service customer. Wally Edgar just can't do it. I purchased a used vehicle from Bruce Gepfrey. Bruce was very personable and easy to work with. The price that was agreed upon was a fair price both for the purchase and the trade in. After the purchase there were some issues that arose and I experienced some difficulty attempting to communicate with them. Although this was upsetting it was later explained to me that they were having technical problems and the communication issues were by no means intentional on their part. In the end the problems were resolved. I was assured that they take great pride in their customer service and that they have taken steps to avoid any further issues. My experience with the service department was far from good. My truck was there for 9 weeks with little to no communication the majority of the time. After 3 weeks I had to reach out to the manager for information regarding my truck, and the progress/parts. 9 weeks later it was finally MY turn to pick up my truck and I was informed that someone who knew a high up at GM was a bigger priority than me, even though they weren't waiting as long as I was. Once I received my vehicle back they had put one tire and rim from a different vehicle on my car. A few days later after leaving work I had to go back again for them to clean and tighten the connections on my starter because it wasn't done correctly the first time [and wouldn't start]. Could never recommend anyone go here for work on their vehicle. Horrible communication and horrible quality control. Hopefully my transmission was put together correctly. read more

I think this will be the last time I have service done at Wally Edgar. First of all, due to no Saturday Service hours, I have to take time off my job in order to have Service done. And, the last two times I have been there, I've gotten the feeling that I'm a number and not a customer, being pushed thru the system. Only interaction with a Service Advisor was the initial check in process and told to see the cashier. I came in for an oil change, multi-point inspection and recall work done (if parts were available). I'm pretty sure the oil change was done. However, I got no multi-point inspection paperwork and no confirmation recall was done. Besides, the last time I was there, my multi-point inspection paperwork was printed in greyscale, so couldn't tell you what they found anyway. And, I brought this up the last time I was surveyed, if the multi-point is actually done, they would have discovered I have no back wiper and would have advised so. So far, no advisement or attempt to sell/service. read more

I have a 2012 Chevy Sonic with 80k miles, for context. Driving to work, suddenly I get a low oil pressure light. I get my car towed to Wally Edgar for diagnosis. This is where the fun begins. about 24 hours after the car comes in I get a call that I have engine sludge and that I have 2 options: - Clean everything out or - New motor. So I drive over there with my backup car and ask to actually look at my car. After a few minutes I get to talk to the actual mechanic, and he never said ANYTHING about sludge to the guy I talked with on the phone, Mark. There was zero sludge in my oil. They keep pushing on me that I should really get a new engine, that my oil ran low, and I probably have piston damage. The only thing they did was take out my oil filter and check 1 valve, which was clear, and obd scan for my oil pressure and ran it. They did not test the oil pressure sender. They did not do a mechanical oil pressure test. They didn't even actually have any symptoms to go by, other than the low oil pressure warning. Fast forward 1 week, I've done a ton of OEM level diagnostics myself, and driving tests, so on so forth. And the problem is just my sensor. I also have reason to believe that my oil never ran low, because I checked my oil the second I pulled over, and the level was fine, and I, at no point, had any leaks, or indication of burning oil, and still do not. They charged me $120 to take the oil filter out, look inside, and put a new one in, and scan my obd. They pushed, aggressively, on me that I need to replace the engine, which is at only 80k miles, which costs $6,000. tl;dr: They lied to my face and didn't make any attempt to diagnose my vehicle properly and pushed a $6,000 repair on me when the only problem was a sensor. Do NOT use their service center. read more

I'm disappointed with the charges for diagnosis. I signed for 3 hours of diagnostic work for 3 items. I bought a radio online to replace mine. It's the same one as original. I wanted the dealer to replace it because some kind of code is needed that comes from GM. I don't know why an diagnostic fee would be charged for that. I also wanted an estimate on the suspension and and my key fobs weren't functioning completely. An hour each for those two items. Finally at the end of the second day I get estimates for these items. $250 for radio and $200 more for diagnostic. I don't believe they spent that 3.6 hours on this. I called my old mechanic and he agrees that is too much time. I looked on line and found video of a man replacing a radio and it took 7 minutes. How long does it take to look at the suspension and fob? This isn't my first trouble with them. Don't use the online appointment scheduler. It doesn't work. You'll think you've scheduled and you aren't. read more

We have taken my wife's Equinox to Wally Edgar several times for oil changes without incident. The oil changes have continued to be free due to the 2 year inclusive program that is part of our 3 year lease. I point this out because I believe these free oil changes push the service team to upsell the mileage-based GM maintenance recommendations. On the surface this may not seem like a big deal. In fact, I would expect a service department to try and sell additional services in an attempt to generate some profitable revenue during a free oil change visit. What I don't expect is for them to misrepresent GM mileage-based service recommendations as REQUIRED, to unknowing customers (i.e., my wife). In this instance it was a cabin filter. As it turns out, I get a discount on parts from another dealership. There was no way for my wife to know this at the time. The cabin filter is also less than a 5 minute replacement. So for me, it made absolutely no sense to pay them $57 when I can have it done myself for $24. Thankfully I had caught this before my wife picked up the car, and before she had paid. I called and spoke to the service representative and apologized for the confusion, explained the situation, and asked if they would please just return the old filter so I could replace it myself. The initial response was, "Sorry, but we already replaced it". While this response didn't sit well with me, I recognized that they did do the work, so I chalked it up a lesson learned and was prepared to move on. To my surprise, I get a text from my wife just a few minutes later saying they've agreed to honor my request. I was thinking, Wow!! Great!! until I got a text from my wife with a picture of the service tech holding our filthy filter in one hand and insulation in another. He was asking her if we are sure we want to put it back. Supposedly a critter had started building a nest by using some of the cars own insulation. Fair enough, I appreciated the heads up, but I sent her a text back and said to have them just shake it off and put it back in. I wasn't worried because I was literally getting ready to head out to pick up the replacement filter from the other dealership and replace it when my wife got home. I will say, however, I thought it was odd that they didn't let her know about the critters nest beforehand. Why show her now? If you truly had our best interest in mind, wouldn't you have shown her regardless of our decision to return the filter? So what happens next is the primary reason for this review. When I go to change the filter about an hour later I am surprised to find the same insulation that was in the service techs hand jammed back into the filter compartment. Why would they do that? I can only assume it was spite. The equivalent of a pissed off cook spitting in someone's food. I tried leaving a voicemail with Brad, the service manager, but my request to discuss this has gone unanswered. I wasn't expecting anything more than an apology, but apparently this is how they do business. I don't trust them anymore. If they can do this what else are they capable of doing? Buyers beware!! ****UPDATE 10/30/15**** Apparently Brad can't call me back, but he can submit a poorly written response to my review. In order for it to post I needed to accept it. I refuse to do so, but do feel it necessary to post his response (as a photo/screenshot) for others to read. I think it does an excellent job supporting my point that you are better off finding service elsewhere. In regard to his response, let me start by saying I was shocked that Brad was aware his service tech stuffed the insulation back in with the air filter. This kind of behavior from someone representing a professional organization is totally unacceptable. If you agree to resolve a problem, then it needs to be done with integrity. To argue that they were trying to do me a favor by putting the insulation back is absurd, and frankly, insulting. Additionally, while Brad's assertion may be true that replacing the old filter required additional time and cost, I would argue that it is merely a distortion of the facts in an attempt to sound as though they did me a favor. Let me explain... To exchange the cabin filter, even for a layman like me, is literally a 2-3 minute task. Also, the new filter could have easily been restocked and used in another vehicle since our car had yet to be returned to my wife. He only succeeded in making his organization sound incredibly petty. Excellent job. One last thing... the tech broke a plastic gear that slows the glovebox as it opens. It was found on the floor mat prior to removing the glovebox myself. Okay, I have done something I swore that I never would never do again... I purchased a GM vehicle. I have been a loyal consumer of Lexus/Toyota products for the past 15 years without any disappointment. In contrast, my experiences with GM products have not been so stellar. Moreover, I was not a fan of our Federal Government butting into free market enterprise. In other words, if a company can produce a reliable product at a competitive price, consumers will flock to it. If not, the company should deserve to fail. A taxpayer bailout should not be part of the equation. It is my sincere hope that this purchase will turn into a positive experience....bringing be closer to loyal GM fan once again. I must say, my interaction with Jay, my salesman, was a pivotal factor in my decision to go ahead with the purchase. In my opinion, he is very sincere and trustworthy. This is something you hardly ever experience these days at a auto dealership. The Lexus LS430 I traded in was 15 years old and ran like "new". I really hope that my "Midnight Edition" Silverado will give me similar results. read more

Been leasing chevys for a while. First time at Wally Edgar. Do not go here. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I had a deal arranged, credit checked, and deposit on truck for over a month. Day of the deal, they demand 5000$ for a down payment. This wasnt discussed or needed. It was too late to find another car so I did it. When counting out the deposit, the salesman Keith Moore miscounted twice in an attempt to steal 200$ from me, claiming the down payment was short. I counted it in front of him and he didn't seem surprised the full 5000$ was there. They didn't return my 500$ deposit nor did they apply it to my purchase. I had to contact my credit card company to get it back. The credit card I used for the deposit was also stolen that weekend. It was a new card and I hadn't used it anywhere else. I had to cancel the card. This dealership shouldn't exist. The salesman should have charges pressed against him. I am still in complete disbelief at the extent of dishonesty I experienced here. I get to lake Orion. I am like can I do an oil change too? So. I pay every month for tire insurance. They're we're gonna charge me $15 so do the tire and I'm like no I pay $10 a month to not pay for tire shit. So They make me call my dealer to make sure I have tire insurance. Why am I calling and they aren't. Anyway. They decide to do my oil change and then tell me AFTER that they have to replace my tire they can't patch it and they don't have the tire in stock. Also that they would have to order a new tire but don't know when it's going to come in so they don't know what to tell me. So they make me call Buff Whalen again to see if they have they tire. They do but I have to get there by 6:30. So the guy is like let me go get your car the oil change is done. Tells me this at 4:32 and he is aware I need to be at my next place. I don't get my car until 5:18. What. The. Fuck. I still have to pay for it. I'm livid. They don't pull my car around they tell me it's outside so I'm in the parking lot looking for my ducking car. Finally get it. Now I drive to Buff Whalen get there by 6:18. now I'm waiting to get my tire fixed still. I left work early to get my tire fixed and beat traffic. It's almost 8 pm. I had a great experience at Wally Edgar yesterday where I popped in for an oil change. It was the 1st of 2 I'm offered as a purchaser of my new 2017 Equinox. Even though they weren't going to make a dime off me they took me in quickly. They change the oil, rotated and inflated the tires to their proper levels. While I waited I walked into the showroom to look at the new Bolt made here in Orion Township. One of the salesmen came out and gave me a lot of information about it without trying to make it a sales pitch. I brought my Silverado in for collision work only. The body work was the only thing discussed with the body shop, that's it!! What was not discussed and was not given approval to have done by me, was the removal of my heated washer fluid unit that was on a recall in late 2008, early 2009. When I came to pick my vehicle up once the body work was done I was notified that they found a recall notice on my truck so they removed the heated washer fluid unit, without my approval. I have brought this vehicle in to Wally Edgar for the past 10 years for maintenance and service has known that I did not wish to have it removed. Scott, in the body shop should not have taken it under his assumption, without making a call to me for approval, to remove the unit. THIS IS NOT HIS VEHICLE TO MAKE DECISIONS ON. When I told Scott he did not have any authority or permission whatsoever to remove the unit, he thought he was doing me a favor. Favor! Like I said I have had this vehicle for 10 years and knew of the recall. How could one think they are doing me a favor? If I wanted it removed I would have had it done many years ago. I never had a problem with the unit, even though it was on recall and now that they cut the 7 wires leading to it, I am not able to reconnect it without the lines all now being spliced back together, which to me is more of an electrical/fire risk than the heater itself was, which was working perfectly fine until Scott and/or his service department decided to hack it off. I tried to get them to reinstall the unit with a new wire harness but Scott informed me that was not possible. I am calling BS on that! After doing some research I have found there is available a newer version for $25 new. But with them clipping the 7 wires they have now compromised the wiring harness which now makes it a fire hazard. They are ignorant and rude when it was their mistake. None of this would have occurred if Scott would have just picked up the phone and asked me about removing the unit. Or better yet, just do the collision work that you were requested to do and nothing more. I tried to talk with the General Manager at Wally Edgar about how upset I was that they compromised my vehicle, but that was like hitting my head against a brick wall and I did not get any assistance whatsoever. It seemed like he really did not care how I felt or that it even matter. What was wrong with disconnecting the plug from the wiring harness instead of just clipping the wires off on something that you did not have the authority to do in the first place so in case I did want it put back, all that had to be done is plug it back into the harness. Wally Edgar has now created a possible electrical/fire hazard with my truck. I have bought several vehicles from Wally Edgar over the years and this will be the last! I will never return to them for any service whatsoever or purchase another vehicle from them. People beware of their sneaky tactics! read more

I sent my 2009 Malibu to Wally Edgar for front end alignment a couple of weeks ago. The service representative was very nice and informative. He told me that both of my lower control arms were bad and the dust boot of the tie rod on the driver side had a crack. So, he said that they won't be able to do the alignment for me. I then asked for the cost to fix them. It was about $1100, which was beyond my budget, so I declined. I was aware of the lower control arms because the car was just check by another mechanic a week ago, but the tie rods were both checked and fine at that time. So, I had a little bit concern about the integrity of this dealership. When I got my car back, I was charged for the front end alignment and the representative said that the mechanic tried his best to align the front end. Later, I noticed that for my car, only toe can be adjusted, meaning tie-rod. I paid the cost and then drove away. Now, something funny happened to the car. The car was at least safe and okay to drive before entering the dealer service shop and it became dangerous now to drive after the alignment. The car not only had tire-rubbing sound, it almost lost his control, steered to the left by itself and back whenever one side of the tire hit a small bump, dent, or drainage cover. The toe was completely off. A few days later, the car was re-aligned by another quality mechanic and he told me the toe was off by a lot. Perhaps Wally Edgar wanted me to come back sooner? But, why would the mechanic adjusted the toe when he said he could not do it? Be aware....... read more

The sales rep I was first with was very helpful and helped me find the best available deal.
