This review pertains to the Body Shop. I took my Ford F-150 into the Milnes Ford Body Shop to have accident damage repaired. They did a great job within a reasonable time, and returned my truck washed, waxed, and detailed. It looks great! They also fixed a couple of minor issues at no extra charge! When I attempted to tip the worker who had gone the extra mile, he refused it, saying "You have to do good things for people. What goes around comes around." I admire and respect his attitude, and I won't hesitate to recommend their shop, although I hope that I have no further repair business with them. ;) read more

Milnes Ford - 2022 Ford Expedition - Car Dealers Near Me - Lapeer, Michigan

Hello, for your own safety please avoid this dealership and their service. I have a 2017 Fusion, and the first time I took it there they told me the engine needed replacing. Thankfully under warranty, (that would've expired before the weeks end) I got the car back the week after. Not a month goes by before I end up on the side of the road due to overheating and engine light flashing, after a long night and fighting on the phone with ford's roadside assistance, we had it towed to the dealership to get checked. One of the coolant lines burst! They did not put on a new hose clamp when replacing the engine, which it took about 3 days for them to put a new one on and give the car back to us. Now here is the reason I'm writing this, I was on my way to work when the whole front end of the car started violently shaking, to the point it felt as if the engine was about to fall out from under the car! I called the dealership explaining this issue to them and they told me "the soonest we can get you in is next week." (I called on Monday btw) I called a couple other dealerships who were also surprised by what Milnes told me, but I ended up taking this matter into my own hands. I got the car towed back to my house and take the underside cover off, when a large bolt FALLS OUT! I look closer and see that the REAR ENGINE MOUNT IS DISCONNECTED, 2 bolts 4 inches long are NOT where theyre supposed to be, on the ground. Safe to say, this dealership is NEVER touching my car again and I HIGHLY recommend you take yours somewhere else. read more

Came here for a work truck repair first go was positive. Second trip not so much and it began falling from there. I had a vehicle towed there on a Saturday I called to let them know it was just electrical and that should only be a fuse but 3 days later they never even looked at it yet and they stayed cause they don't have a hoist for a big truck that was working at the time. Which made me confused cause you can pop a hood and look at the fuses. Wasn't till I called them back to tell them the exact fuse that was causing the problem that it was fixed so I had to do the work of figuring it out for them. After picking up the truck I also ask about my next appointment since they said the hoist for heavy vehicles was being replaced or repaired how did the plan to do my next appointment that they scheduled for service if they don't have the hoist. They didn't have an answer and I canceled my the remaining service appointments for here. Why would they schedule an appointment for a repair that they can't even complete. read more

Looking on Ford's build site for a new Ranger truck and it gave me 10-12 dealers that had close to what I was looking for in the Ranger truck line. Set all the dealers the same message and about there trucks and only two of the dealers responded back to me. Jeff Wells from Milnes Ford got back to me within 1 hour of my request on the truck he had and said it was pending but, thought he had one coming in later that day and low and behold Jeff called back and said he had one so I setup an appointment and 3 days later picked up my new Ranger truck. I would tell anybody I could to stay away from this crooked car dealership. Go someplace else - anyplace else - to buy a used car! My daughter purchased a cheap, used Subaru from Milnes. Less than two weeks later she took the car to a local garage to get the brakes done. the shop refused to touch the car because the frame was disintegrating, and they were concerned that putting any tool to the car would cause a total frame failure. After wrangling and harassing Ken, the used car GM for more than two weeks Milnes Ford finally agreed to take the car back and trade it for another car. They gave us no choice in selecting a replacement car. They picked out a car and told us to take it or leave it. After paying a $500 upcharge for the 13 year old Honda Accord, we took the deal. It was the only choice we had, if we didn't want to lose the money she had already paid. Once again, less than two weeks after driving off the lot, the car that Milnes had sold my daughter suffered a catastrophic failure. The transmission failed. The cost to repair or replace the transmission was more than the cost of the car. When we contacted Milnes, we took our issue all the way to the dealership GM. They refused to work with us at all to make the situation right. We were essentially told that our daughter had learned an expensive lesson about buying cheap used cars. My daughter, a struggling student teacher, ended up having to sell off the Honda for scrap, losing thousands of dollars that had taken her a year to save. I have purchased my share of used cars over the years. This was without doubt the most crooked car dealership I have ever dealt with. read more

Worst experience i ever had with a car company. Do yourself a big favor and go to Grand Blanc or Hank Graff of Davison. I have a car that stalls and idles off. Computer wont hold data. So they say theres nothing they can do. I have video of what its doing. Once i had to have it towed right to a shop. Wouldnt stay running. By the time it got there it ran. There was no data in the computer. Everyone keeps saying my cpu is starting to fail but they wont change it. I can reset the computer and runs fine for 2 to 3 weeks. Then messes up like clock work. Also i bought all the warranties and still owe a lot on this car. Got it last year and they want to give me about 40 percent of what i paid for it with about 3000$ in new parts. if they fix this i will edit this review. read more

I purchased three vehicles over a period of a few years from Milnes, and had all my service done there, including every oil change, etc. After my experience with the last vehicle I purchased, I'll not only never pull into their lot again, but will never have so much as a tire plugged there. Briefly as I can: I purchased a Ford F-150 from them; it was three or four years old at the time, with relatively low mileage. After driving it 36 miles the next day, I noticed the treads on all four tires was separating very severly (the tires looked absolutely fine the previous evening when I picked the truck up). So I got all new tires and, as it turned out the lug nuts were splitting, so I had to replace them as well. Two weeks later there was a leak that turned out to be a bad seal; fortunately I had a bit of remaining warranty left on the vehicle, so the $400 repair "only" cost me $100 (FYI, never buy the extended warranty they offer - you'll end up paying for something that doesn't cover nearly as much as they tell you it will. Try to find a warranty company, you can save a lot). Then, one month later all the paint they used to cover the rust spots had come off. Now, I accept that a used vehicle is 'as is' and I don't fault them for selling me the vehicle -- I am an adult and signed a contract (albeit with a dealership I (foolishly) trusted). I don't even mind them detailing away some of the rough edges. But I do expect a level playing field -- don't cover up the flaws, and if you do, at least cover them up so they stay covered. Hiding issues so buyers don't see them may be common in the industry, but it's not ethical. And don't play games with tires (and don't feign ignorance that you didn't know something was wrong with tires that a 30 minute morning commute clearly revealed). Multi-point inspection must be the modern day equivalent of "driven only on Sundays by a little old woman." The worst part? They keep sending me marketing emails. I've literally unsubscribed over a dozen times. Seriously; I've even written to Ford directly and the dealership's manager, both to no avail. Every week like clockwork I get more emails and snail mail from them. It's like they're rubbing salt in the wound. "We really got you on that last vehicle - any chance we can disappoint you again?" Honestly, go to one of the other small used car lots dotting Lapeer county, your expectations will already be more realistic and you won't have the letdown of dealing with the people and sketchy practices at Milnes Ford. read more

She was so, so pleasant to speak with & upon hearing more information about the Focus, I had decided that I'd like to know about their other selections, & she was able to immediately find me a different car that sounded much much more reasonable & seemed almost too good to be true. She very quickly made an appointment for me to check out the new vehicle & after our call, she was even able to provide me information about my upcoming visit. He wasn't pushy and didn't see me as another paycheck for him. I did not end up buying from here but I wish I did! The next day, Val called me up to see if I wanted to check out a new vehicle that had just arrived, but unfortunately I had already purchased a vehicle from a different dealership. He said he was happy for me and it didn't sound fake. He told me I chose a great vehicle and if I ever needed anything done with it, to contact him anytime. Blake Milnes, the general manager, also contacted me to make sure my experience with them was up to their standards. He just wanted to make sure one of his employees didn't ruin my car buying experience, and Val actually made it better. My review has two parts because every dealership has two basic parts, sales and the service / parts department. We will start with the sales department. About five years ago I visited a couple of times to see if I was a "winner" in their everyone is a winner sales promotion scam. It seems they may have hired an out of state sales promotion company to drive up their sales for the week. When I asked to see their statement of official rules, the "salesman" became very agitated and started mocking me in concert with their "manager". I can't image that these were actual employees of the dealership, but they might have been. I don't know because I will never go back to find out. Now the parts department. I have used them off and on for many years now and I have always been impressed by their friendly and professional service. The parts people seem to really know their "stuff" and have offered suggestions that are very helpful. I don't know how to rate this dealership because one part is terrible and the other is stupendously good. So I guess I will have to do an average, (sorry parts department, you really do deserve five stars and the sales department deserves zero stars). I purposefully have my account set up to disallow contact from business owners. There are several good reasons for this, but it is mostly because they can be whiney babies if they don't like your honest review. So what sometimes happens is that the owners will use another account to try and persuade (or harass) a Yelp reviewer into removing their review. The "manager" from Milnes has done exactly that to me. These are my opinions about my experiences with Milnes Ford, your experience might be different but I can't see how. read more

I purchased a used car from milnes Ford two weeks ago. It was a great deal and I am completely happy with my car. What I'm not happy with is the way I have been treated since they got my money. I called Joshua my salesman with a simple question that only required a simple yes or no answer. I called three times and received no response. I then called the general manager Blake. I have left three messages and have no response from Blake. Again a simple yes or no answer would have been sufficient. The question no longer matters, but the total lack and disregard of customer service is not acceptable. i bought a used 2013 Fusion from this dealership about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It is a very nice car but I have some issues with the way the used car end of the dealership is run. The first time I saw the car and sat inside it, I noticed that the inside of the car was not cleaned very good. The previous owner had smoked, I could tell because there was nicotine residue on the ceiling and visors, really grossed me out. I told the salesman about it and he said they would clean it up before I picked up the car, if I was going to buy it. So, I took it for a test drive and it seemed to drive nice but there was a lot of road noise or tire noise. I mentioned it to the salesman when I got back from the test drive and he told me that the car had an alignment and two new tires put on the front (red flag) and didn't seemed too concerned about it. I should have had him check it out before buying it but he had told me that it went through a safety check and that everything checked out o.k. So, I bought the car and drove it home. I looked on the internet about this car and some of the reviews said that the decibel level of the interior when driving was 90 decibels so, I figured it might just be the way the car is. I drive the car about 70 miles a day and after about a week of driving it back and forth to work, I started to notice a looseness or floating of the front end of the car when driving on the expressway. i made an appointment with my mechanic to take a look at the car and make sure everything looked good. They told me at the dealership it did but I wanted another opinion. I couldn't get into see my mechanic until a week after I called him because he was so busy but was going to keep the appointment anyway. On the way home from work, the day of my appointment, I was driving home on the expressway and the front end of the car was really getting loose. When I would go through a curve the front end felt almost like it was sliding. I knew something was really going on with this car so, I decided to take it back to the dealer. I talked to the used car Manager, Ken, about the problem on the phone and he said to bring it in. I brought it in and he had his man look at the undercarriage and found that the front passenger side rim was bent. Ken came and got me and had me look at the rim. Yep, it was bent all right. He said I must have hit a pot hole somewhere and bent the rim and that was what was causing the floating or drifting in the front end. When I was looking at the rim I noticed that there was no damage to the tire. No marks, no scuffs, nothing. I thought, how could the rim go through that much trauma and not leave a mark on the tire? I went back and forth with Ken about whose problem it was and we decided to split the cost of a refurbished rim. So, I ended up paying $140.00 dollars for the rim. It seemed like a fair deal. i could have hit a pot hole without noticing it but I doubt it but i had the rim replaced and I was sent on my way. Now this is the good part. I got in my car and started driving home. I immediately noticed that the tire noise was gone. I did not hear it all the way home. I drove it on the expressway to work and there was no tire noise. The car is extremely quite now. So, my point about this whole review is Why was there tire noise when I took the car for a test drive and why did it take a week for the car to start giving me problems? Because, the dealership put a new tire on a bent rim, hoping to hide the problem. This is terrible to do Ken. The car was not safe to drive when you sold it to me and you tried to cover it up by putting new tires on the car. I paid $140.00 for a rim that was damaged before I even bought the car. You have very poor business ethics if you can sell a car like this. I wonder what your Boss would think of the way you conduct your business. Anyway, as far as I am concerned, you have lost a very loyal customer. read more

I will never buy another vehicle from Milnes Ford in Lapeer again. Not only was it their clerical department a joke, but worse was that as soon as I drove the vehicle off the lot the airbag light came on and the brakes were making a grinding noise that they hadn't been making when I test drove it. They originally said that it was a new issue but later admitted that the vehicle hadn't been fixed properly before sale. They did fix those 2 issues immediately; but when we called to say now the heated seats weren't working they made an appointment for 6 weeks out then "lost" my appointment and were unwilling to help accomodate us. We finally got Ford Quality Assurance involved who got us in at Imlay City Ford for the fixes. Their service department have found recalls that were issued over 6 months ago that were still needed to be fixed as well as electrical issues that were logged into Ford's computer system previously that were also not fixed. All in all I am having to spend thousands of dollars for a vehicle I have owned less than 4 months. I really could go into more detail, especially on the headache purchasing the vehicle had been but bottom line from the sales to the service department Milnes Ford in Lapeer has been rude and unprofessional. read more

The first vehicle was purchased from David Lightfoot......when I came to purchase my 2nd Taurus, Dave put me in contact with Sarah Denton. I was a little concerned at first, Dave assured me that she would do a great job....she turned out to be excellent. When it was time to buy my wife a new vehicle, I only hoped Sarah was still at the dealership to help me. She was great with both my wife and I. We ended up buying an F250 Super Duty....which my wife loves!
