Went to Wally Dental on April 14, 2026 at 10am and had a very concerning experience. From the moment I walked in, the setup felt rushed -- multiple partitions with dental chairs, patients being moved quickly. After being called in, I had several tests done followed by a cleaning that honestly did not feel thorough at all. Afterward, the hygienist told me I needed my wisdom teeth extracted, a deep cleaning, and that I had SIX cavities -- with treatment costs over $1,000. Something didn't sit right with me, so I went to my primary dentist for a second opinion. Turns out, I had NO cavities at all. My dentist even mentioned my teeth didn't look like I had just had a cleaning two weeks prior. They only recommended minor preventative care -- nothing close to what I was told at Wally. To make matters worse, I had left my card on file, and they started charging me for dental work BEFORE I even agreed to anything, while I clearly stated I would be getting a second opinion. This experience felt extremely dishonest and misleading. Please be careful and always get a second opinion before agreeing to major dental work. read more

Not worth it. Zero privacy. In Tribeca, you can see everyone in the office sitting across from you. And they can see you! It is nearly impossible to speak to a human for customer service. I requested customer service 3 times over 3 months and only spoke to a human today when I requested a cancellation of my membership and the service I was going to get, until I walked out after seeing how insane the office was set up. For the record, I don't want to see someone else getting their teeth cleaned or getting X-rays! Just because it is low-cost doesn't mean it needs to be exploitative and disrespectful. The office is clean and simple as well as the service. I was told I need a follow up visit that would cost me out of pocket. I received no cleaning during this visit. I had reservations right after I left the office as I have never heard of the type of treatment they suggested. I asked for a breakdown of the service I would be receiving before I was charged and was charged no less than a half hour later. I asked to be canceled for the upcoming appointment and haven't heard anything back. I wouldn't suggest go to any location. The app provides you with no information regarding your visit. They reel you in that you will be receiving unlimited cleanings and try to upsell you on further services. They told me I have 7 days to schedule an appointment with them. Horrible customer service. No organization, unprofessional, racist and all about their influencers and social media presence. My son had an appointment for July 27th at 5:00pm. We arrived at 4:30pm , had an issue checking in. At 5:00pm Dr.La comes out and I'm under the impression that she's going to take my son in the back to get his cleaning done. She tells me that my appointment was canceled because they are closing up early due to the person who was supposed to do his cleaning leaving early. I received several text messages from Wally the morning of our appointment confirming, saying they can't wait to see us, and ensuring that my son comes with a parent/guardian since he is a minor. I explained to her that this was inconsiderate, unprofessional and unacceptable. I expressed to her that I just had knee surgery last week and I took a car service all the way here with my young baby girl and my son. She just replied "I'll have our manager Jake" contact you. When I walked to the back to inform them that I haven't received a call from Jake , I noticed someone getting a cleaning in the chair , it was a woman of a different race than I. I said to a gentleman standing there "excuse me I thought you guys were closed up for the day how are you still performing cleanings" he responded "I'm with a patient right now can I talk to you after" when he comes out the lady is walking with him, she seemed to be an influencer of some sort because she was shooting visuals of the we work space. As the gentleman by the name of Adam comes out to talk to me he's pulling up his computer in communication with Jake who is the head of operations. Jake finally calls me and has no compassion about me having surgery coming all the way downtown Brooklyn for a cleaning and finding out my son appointment was canceled. When I asked for them to reimburse my carfare or pay for my car service back home he told me they couldn't do that and was adamant about giving me an extension on my membership. I expressed to him due to the way Wally does business I am not interested in extending a membership. They do not care about their customers, no compassion and it seems that they only want to give customer service to influencers to put on an image like they are so vibrant and easy to book. When in realty it's all AI , no one in customer service to speak with and the unlimited cleaning you can only book once every other month if you're lucky enough to get an appointment. Some locations are racist and show respect and acknowledgement to caucasian clients. Wally health needs to do better. Today was totally unacceptable . This was simply a horrible experience, from the office setup, to the attitude of the workers, to the treatment it was really bad. The "exam" was performed in a makeshift office without privacy, the technicians were not friendly, did not introduce themselves, and acted like they did not want to be there. This was my first appointment. I went there as I had recently moved and I have healthy teeth and make sure I see a dentist twice a year. They told me that I had cavities and required a "deep cleaning" at an additional cost because of my excessive tartar buildup and they could not perform a "normal" cleaning. Of course I asked what the price was and it was expensive. I said "no thanks" and went to a real dentist. The dentist perfomed a normal cleaning and confirmed that I did not have any cavilities that required fillings. I would avoid this office at all costs. read more

What a dump... 1) I went in for a cleaning today and it took 9 minutes (I timed it) 2) They rearranged the office so you're facing all the other patients while they are getting procedures done - so weird and uncomfortable - absolutely no privacy. I literally watched the staff eating their lunch across from me 3) the staff is entirely different every time I come - I've asked multiple how long they've been in the field for and they have all replied with it being their first job 4) i have used the service every 3 months (they won't let you book sooner than that, so you're going to max get 3-4 cleanings a year) and went to my actual dentist where I was informed that my gums were inflamed from inappropriate cleanings (note that they only use an ultrasonic cleaner and never scrape tartar - my teeth never feel clean when leaving). read more

I had an appointment this morning which I checked in within the grace period, and proceeded to wait in the lobby to be seen - as there is no one on the actual floor from Wally to speak with. 12 minutes later someone came out to try and gaslight me and tell me I had missed the check in grace period. Of course I said, that is not true and proceeded to show the text confirmation I received after checking-in in time. I was then told that I was not in the waiting area, which of course I was, as I had only taken the elevator straight up to the We work floor where their "offices" are. Finally they offered to reschedule me to another day/time even though I was present in a timely manner for my appointment. All in all a horrible experience and worse customer service. I responded to an advertisement by Wally for "unlimited dental cleanings" as a "Founding Member." It seemed too good to be true and it was. I arrived promptly for my appointment at their Midtown East location. The office was no frills and a bit grimey, but I didn't expect the ritz for what I was paying. There are no actual rooms its just an empty space with half a dozen dental chairs. Their goal is clearly volume, not experience. The intake was fine. I received some scans, and was told to wait for a hygienist to join me for the actual cleaning. Instead of providing the cleaning I had already paid for, the hygenist tried to upsell me on "required" additional services costing several times more than my membership. When I calmly asked to speak with management about the change in treatment plan, I was instead asked to leave and told they would not be proceeding with my care. I was not unruly or disruptive, nor was I preventing care for others. The few patients who had been there before me had already left after similar upsell attempts, and no new patients arrived while I was present. I was simply waiting indoors and out of the rain for the management call they had promised, since the office has no waiting room. If it seems too good to be true, it likely is. read more

I tried the UWS location and it was disappointing. The space is just a side office in a co-working space. The dental tech never introduced herself, did not explain anything she was roughly doing in my mouth, and kept laying out the tools/ supplies on her laptop keyboard before putting them in my mouth. Then she left my images up on a screen by the entry door where all could see them, with no regard for PHI protection rules under HIPAA. And the exam chair is so close to the wall that I kept having to twist sideways so she could do everything from my right side. Then the hygienist pushed for an upset deep cleaning before offering the Wally cleaning I came for. I'm glad I paid a discount price for this; it will just be a writeoff. I've had Wally for a while but didn't get to use them right away since it took some time to find an appointment that worked with my schedule. I'm so glad I finally did because the experience was amazing. I normally go to traditional dental cleanings every six months and didn't realize how different this would be. The first appointment is a bit longer since they're getting to know you and setting up your records, but once that's done everything flows much more smoothly. I've since committed to cleanings every three months and I'm really happy with that routine. A bit of caution for those who might be nervous about dental visits. Wally is a multi-step process and can feel a little overwhelming at first, but the team does a fantastic job of explaining everything along the way. I have been using Wally since the summer of 2024! This location is one I have been to twice. If you come right around your appt time you should be fine. They see you 2-5 mins from when you check in. It is not that close to the subway so be prepared to plan accordingly. The first time I have been to this location, I was on time. It was pretty quick with the cleaning and no issues. The hygienist was good and I felt they did a pretty thorough job with my cleaning The second time I went to this location, I was running over 10 mins late so I missed my appt. Thankfully they allowed me to sit there and closer to the end of the day, I was seen. They had an outlet I could use to keep my phone charged. I think the cleaning this time was not as thorough as before. Probably because it was closer to the end of the day. Please note this location did not have a bathroom I believe. It also has the same layout as the other Wally location with an open floor and minor separations between each area. When you rinse with mouthwash they give you, you spit it back to the same cup and give it back to them. I do not mind this because the price and value comes into play. read more

Both the ER and my neurologist flagged the chemical exposure as a likely cause. Wally's VP of Clinical Operations acknowledged that the provider was new, that I should have received eyewear, and said they would "work with me" on reimbursement. But I received a cold, generic email denying all responsibility -- citing a policy that they "don't reimburse for services outside Wally." Here's the kicker: Wally now claims they are merely a "software company that connects patients to providers," so they don't have to take responsibility when something goes wrong. This was never disclosed up front. I booked through their platform, paid Wally directly, and my confirmation emails listed only Wally. It was a cold Friday morning in January when I arrived to the Grand Opening of Wally's Tribeca location. I was certainly skeptical joining Wally, but after some diligent research I decided it was worth giving a try. When I first joined back in December 2022, I did it on a whim wanting to get a cleaning before I leave on a medical mission. After paying dues and onboarding, I finally got a text to book my first cleaning; I was shocked that the only availability was 3 months out! Luckily (after several text communications back and forth) I made it on the wait list and Wally was able to accommodate me before my trip. They were great with the text communications, however I think they can do without the autobot response on each correspondence (it was holiday season). Although they were more responsive than my regular dentist office. An unexpected bonus, I was pleasantly surprised with a welcome gift delivered to my home after joining. It came in a well appointed small gift box filled with interesting dental care products. Later I found that the unique dental gifts were some of the favorite products used by their own employed dentists' and hygienists'; each brand having ZERO affiliation to Wally the company. On that cold windy day when I arrived for a 0930 appointment, I noted the setup at the Tribeca location reminded me of mission medicine: set for maximum efficiency with the ability to treat a max amount of patients safely. The center is an open concept, walled off by temporary barriers. My wait was approximately 15mins past my appointment (there wasn't really a waiting room) but once called in- the process was like a well oiled machine. I thought the cleaning was very affective as they use an ultrasonic wand, (no other traditional dental equipment) and it will get quite messy. They do everything possible to mitigate the splash even giving you a pair of sunglasses/eye protection during the cleaning. My hygienist was absolutely attentive, probably the best use of suctions so there was NO pooling of water in the back of my throat. Overall I had a wonderful experience, but please know I see a primary dentist regularly and I have a clean bill of dental health. The reason why I wanted to try Wally is that my primary dentist continues to upcharge me each visit and instills fear of my oral health to have me comply to these extra expensive treatments. After a full assessment by Wally (X-rays, 3-D scan, full oral examination, and Dentist consultation) I was assured I had excellent dental health! If it was not clear in my review, I'm super critical of my Dental Care Providers. 15 years later, I still having found a general dentist I was happy with in NYC, and would just fly back to Cali to see my Family Dentist since I was a child. Hoping Wally will save me from these flights, only time will tell. Great company for preventive health, can't wait for my custom at home whitening package, and my next cleaning! Obviously, if I could give 0 stars I would. Read on. I had two good cleanings at Wally at different studios in NYC. At the first, a nice hygienist named Gabriel at the midtown location tried to engage me in conversation about where I work. I told him, thank you, but I didn't care to converse about my job. I like to relax when I am in the dental chair, and my job is confidential in nature anyway. He seemed to accept this. Or so I thought. The next appointment was a week later for a deep cleaning with a hygienist, Carolina, at the UES studio. She clearly had an attitude from the jump. Nevertheless, the appointment seemed to go well, and I had no complaints. I was pleased with the results. About an hour later, I get a call from a founder at Wally saying that they were cancelling my membership and refunding my money. She asserted that I soiled the chair both times I visited each studio. This is literally impossible. There was nothing in my underwear when I got home. How humiliating and unspeakable! I was in shock.... I did go to the bathroom at each location beforehand, but I cleaned myself thoroughly as most adults do. I asked if they were inspecting bathrooms, and if they didn't want people to go, they should NOT provide restrooms. The founder replied that they do not check bathrooms--and reasserted that I made #2 both times in my chair!! I asked if they use ultraviolet light to inspect chairs afterwards in case of trace bacteria, and they said they do not. Clearly, they didn't like me, and didn't want me as a customer, and that's fine by me. But do NOT lie about customers, and make up defamatory stories about their bowel habits. They will be hearing from my attorney, as although I was issued a full refund--I deserve a written apology. read more

FALSE AND MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT. UPSELLING. I was excited about going to Wally because they advertise on their website 'Unlimited cleanings'. I went to the midtown east location. My first impressions were great. I was able to book two days ahead. My appointment was at 2:30 PM. I checked in at 2:20. I was received at 2:29. Clean space, well utilized (they have paper walls between the stations). Andres took my X-rays - he was very nice. Afterwards a doctor came, who was very professional. And then Gabriel came to do the cleaning - which was the biggest reason I signed up. Gabriel did the cleaning. It felt good, but afterwards my teeth were hurting overnight. He told me that I CANNOT HAVE ANOTHER REGULAR CLEANING UNLESS I PAY FOR DEEP CLEANING. I told him this is contradictory to what is advertised on the web site. He answered that 'UNLIMITED CLEANING APPLIES ONLY TO HEALTHY PATIENTS', but they cannot legally advertise that. I told him that their website is misleading and provides false advertisement. I told him that I have read many reviews that they push people to do deep cleaning and hence pay extra. When I saw the web site I taught it was too good to be true. I gave them a try anyway. As soon as they opened my son went for the first appointment which they said was included in the fee. They told my son needed a deeper cleaning which was $700 and they scheduled it for Friday, February 20th at 8:30 AM. My son has dental insurance and a regular dentist who my son went to on Tuesday February 17th. Despite the yearly deductible he had the same service for $170 with a Harvard educated reputable dentist in a fully equipped professional office not a weird set up in a WE WORK building. Was able to book my first appointment in less than a day. Received professional care from an attentive staff. Efficient but friendly. Not your typical dental office but the concept works well. It was recommended I get a deep cleaning but was told it was not a problem if I wanted to shop around for a better price. They would be happy to provide the unlimited cleanings no matter where I receive my aftercare. Requested copies of my X-ray and scans through their text system and received them within 24 hours. I signed up for a service plan for one year for which I paid $200 . It was for unlimited cleaning and whitening. I went for my first visit they started great, took X-ray and some other imaging then the pressure began about extra service so I advised I had dental insurance and would go to my dentist but did agree to one of the service. Immediately upon leaving the office I was alerted by by bank about 2 charges on my card one for $60 and the other for $40. The only option of communication is text messages, I reached out multiple timesto asked about the $100 that was charged to my card on 10/21 it's now 10/ 27 and I've not gotten any reply. I've been a member at Wally for a year, and the only reason I stayed that long was because of one outstanding hygienist--whom I was lucky to see when I could. (She knows who she is, and she is way too good for this place. This review has NOTHING to do with her). Unfortunately, every other hygienist I've encountered has been subpar at best. It's clear that many either lack proper skills or simply don't care. My cleanings with them have always been painful and leave my mouth cut up for days after. They also are inconsistent with their feedback. My last visit was particularly horrendous. The hygienist was extremely unprofessional and rude, going so far as to call my teeth "filthy" and argue with me about my oral hygiene. His tone was condescending and made me feel awful basically implying I'm lying about brushing and flossing. I find it hard to believe my teeth are that "filthy" when Im here every three months and carry the floss he claims I don't own around with me in my bag daily. He told me my front teeth are on the verge of decaying out of my mouth, LOL! Ok. Sure. It's clear he didn't review my records on my teeth or previous notes. He also gave me a half assed 15 minute cleaning not even bothering getting my back teeth. I was so offended by him I didn't even care to point it out. Not to mention he also soaked my whole back with water. To make matters worse, I reached out to customer service, and after two days, I still haven't received a response. That's the problem. There's no front desk, no one to call, and no way to request and guarantee the same person you saw last time. At this point, I think I'm done with this place. Really really smooth. Everything is done by text and automated. The welcome kit was mailed to my address to prevent me carrying anything around. I scheduled my appointment at 8AM which was so perfect. I think also it is smart for them to blacklist people for 4 months if they miss their appointment. They do x-rays first and then move onto the cleaning and consultation. My appointment was supposed to end at 9AM, but I checked my phone the second I got off the cleaning chair and it was 9:17AM so they will go overtime to make sure your teeth are clean.
