There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.

Lazy, tasteless and the worst service I've had in a very long time. My girlfriend and I were the ONLY patrons on a Sunday afternoon. Instead of being bombarded with bored servers, waiting on our every need, we saw 1 of the 3 waitresses a total of 3 times: 1: To take the order (she was unprepared and had to go find her notepad halfway through giving our order) 2: When she brought our order 3: When she came back with our check (not even done eating at this point). Mind you, we didn't prompt her for the check. In fact, by this time, I was so parched from eating dry, tasteless food, all I wanted was for her to perform the barebones basic task of the food service industry and recognize that she never refilled our drinks once. But no such luck. My girlfriend was kind enough to do part of the waitresses' job herself and let me finish her drink while I continued to let this disaster of an experience run it's course. The rest of our server's precious time was spent moseying around the empty tables, in an endless daze. The Wally Fries were burnt to a crisp with 2 pieces of processed Kraft cheese slapped on last minute. The blandest home fries I ever tasted. My waffle was overdone. Not horribly so, but enough to kill any true flavor it might've had under an experienced chef. This made a list on Facebook for being one of the top 15 places to try in Akron. Visited there in April. Looking on line for different places to have lunch and my son was mentioning different ones and then mentioned Wally Waffle. I said that's it. Let's go here. When we walked in there supposedly was a waiting list but I walked up to the greeter and told her 4 in the party. Didn't have to wait for a table. The waitress was very pleasant. The food was great. 3 of us ordered BLT sandwiches and we couldn't believe the amount of bacon that was on the sandwich. It was incredible. The service was terrific and so was the food. Highly recommend. If I ever get back to Akron, that is definitely on my return list. read more
