We came here after going to the next door restaurant TATEL ( which was amazing ) the moment we walked in here , the busgirl / Hostess Cristina ? Was looking at at me and my people up and down , making us look and feel like we couldn't afford the place - This was beyond rude , she made me feel disappointed, disgusting and just be littled- I couldn't believe the energy I was getting from this girl and place. It was my sisters 35th bday and I couldn't wait to give her and her friends a good time however this place turned a bit sour , we left the instant we felt unwanted - before leaving , cristina left us to wonder the restaurant on our own and we found a spot next to the bar - she came to let us know " this is a table for dinner only " I am sorry Cristina , Why didn't you lead us to the correct section of the restaurant to sit at , instead you told us to proceed then tell us we are at the wrong table ? Then you just left and didn't bother to offer us a section that was available to sit. I've been waiting to visit this place and finally got the opportunity. Came here for lunch and unfortunately was a little let down. Let's start off with the fact that it took 40 mins since we ordered to get our charcuterie board (3 items) and not once did our waitress come over to even give us an update on what was going on, not until we called her over to see what was going on for her to tell us that they were "under-staffed" Our waitress was nice, but definitely lacked with her service skills. Meaning..she didn't stop by to check up on the table to see if we wanted refills etc. We were pretty annoyed. Had to make sure and ask that we get the appetizer before the meal since it was taking so long. If I'm paying almost $30 for a Cesar salad I definitely expect better service than what was provided. The hostess was great and barely had to wait to be seated, plus there's so much to see inside while waiting. Now, it's time to pay..to only be asked if we had cash to pay our bill because their system was down and if we wanted to pay with cards we would have to wait. Our patience was non existent at this point and got even more annoyed. Food: the food was great (that gets 5 stars). Nope. No more. I've been coming here on and off for years. This last time was the last straw. Husband and I walked in, just looking to get a drink at the bar. I attempted to mention this to the hostess, but they were too busy on their phones to pay attention. We took a look inside and the tables were dead, with just one (very tight) bar seat open. Tried again to get the hostess' attention...and was told rudely the tables are for food only. Maybe it's a new policy? I attempted to get a bar seat, but two girls would not move their bags off the chair. The bartender (who, along with the security guard were very kind -and the only reason for two stars!-and clearly aggravated with the hostesses, as well) basically went to the hostess and told them where we could sit. At this point, we'd had it. Everyone has been saying this location has gone downhill and I now 100% agree. We thanked the kind bartender and left to go to the Santa Monica location. Literally every bad review here says hire better hostesses. Customer service is key. What's the deal? Santa Monica has SUCH nice hostesses. Anyhow-don't bother. read more

Over the years I have spent generously at Wally's various locations and most often at the Beverly Hills Store. They will not see me again. During the week leading up to the holiday, my voice messages and phone calls went unanswered. The one time I reached a human being, they sent me to another dead extension. My detailed voice message about an order/delivery was never returned. Maybe they have inadequate technology but strike 3 and you're out. The silver lining,...I called a Studio City store called the Flask. These guys are pros and have a spectacular selection of wine, bourbon, scotch and everything else you desire. I walked in around 11 am, made the gift purchase and it was delivered to a Brentwood address by 4 pm and New Year's Eve. My advice, don't pay the premium at Wally's without the service. Go to the "Flask" in Studio Ciry where you'll be greeted with professionalism, a smile and exceptional service and quality. And you'll save a ton of money. read more

*Parking* I absolutely love Beverly Hills for the abundance of public parking (FREE 2 hours!). Type in 449 Canon Drive, and there's public parking RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Wally's! No need to valet, unless you like having strangers driving your car and leaving a somewhat sticky driving wheel. Of course, the drawback with BH is that the police are very ready to slap you with a driving infraction for very minor offenses or steep fines with the red light cameras, so, trade offs, such is life. *Private room* Wally's has a private room! And it's perfect for small gatherings. If your office or organization needs a private dining area, Wally's would be an ideal place. *Service* Outstanding! Ready with drinks, and this server, blonde, short hair (I wish I had gotten her name) was so attentive and exceeded expectations. *Drinks* I had a cranberry seltzer, but it was so watered down. *Food* Delicious, fantastic charcuterie! My favorites here remain to be a cheese plate which is infinitely customizable and wine. I like going simple here and just get a few appetizers and enjoy a beautiful interior of the place or sit outside and people watch, which is never dull in Beverly Hills, Wally's is a wine shop in addition to being a restaurant and has a truly excellent wine selection. Tips: Wally's could get packed on a busy day for lunch. I do not think they take reservations. Parking sucks in Beverly Hills and parking control here is uncivilized - they hunt you down for every free minute, so I tend to park in the neighborhood. We met on a rainy night and sat outside and we also put our name for inside and told the hostess we are sitting outside. At the same time our table for inside was ready it started to pour..: The hostess gave us a table which you could not even talk with the person across unless you shout! No one brought our food which was soaked with water until we asked a boss boy.. 1/2 of our cheese tray was watered. I ad to go to the table myself to bring our bottled water. 20 min in, no waiter. Asked 3 different waiters to Bring us our food we ordered, another 10-15 till the salad came, wrong order was put it, to begin with.. one waiter told my friend that "why did you ask someone else couldn't you wait?" We told manager about our server and food, all he had to say was sorry! At the end the bill had $1 charge for mustered which we were not told there was one. People drink and talk so no one pays attention to their bill! and they figure "let's see how much we can charge for misc or stick it to the customer" Service: 0 Food: one star Atmosphere: meat market if I saw one ! So, this place doesnt offer reservation and walk in only. It's a little bit of a long wait especially on weekend, so be prepared to wait. But overall experience here is just so-so. The service is also just okay. Nothing memorable but I'm just quite surprised the food they offer actually taste quite good! The ambience is also quite chill, except that they dont really open until late. We were quite rushed at around 11pm when they are about to close. I love Wally's! Coming here makes me feel like I'm back in Europe each time - the interior is decorated really nicely with the wine racks stacked up on every wall reaching to the ceiling. They have an extensive selection of wine, but they also have a cocktail menu if you're not a wine drinker -- their espresso martinis are pretty amazing as well. The first time we came, we ordered a bunch of food which was alright; food is a bit overpriced here and I would probably just stick to drinks and charcuterie which is what we did the next time we came. Their charcuterie boards are amazing -- you either have the option of choosing 3 items (meats and cheeses) or 5 and they'll build the board for you. Among their food items, my favorites include their Purple & Blue Salad, loaded with pistachios, roasted beets, blueberries, and grapes; the Truffle Pizza (porcini truffle purée, truffle oil, buffalo mozzarella, wild arugula) & their overwhelmingly good fried smashed potatoes. Their chicken dish with shaved truffle and house-made spaghetti are also noteworthy, along with their cheese plates. Service - HORRIBLE - Our waiter, Walter, could care less about us - he would walk to our table then say, One Sec and not come back. literally. A few months later and a few more visits (and an Uber eats) later, it's safe to say that Wally's is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles! The French Seabass, albeit a little pricey, is literally the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. I could be exaggerating a bit... but probably not, because it's really that good. For lunch I ordered via Uber eats and got the tuna melt (which is absolutely delicious) and also ordered the lobster salad not knowing if either would be necessarily filling enough. Both were, and needless to say I couldn't finish them all. The lobster salad is perfect, and whoever invented crispy quinoa is a genius! What I love about all of Wally's food is that they understand flavor and texture to a degree that they never miss. From pizzas to their beautiful charcuterie boards to anything I've eaten there... it's all excellent. Yes it's a little crazy at the door and I am still not a fan of one of the hostesses who tends to treat patrons like trash if they aren't famous, but the servers and management have all been absolutely wonderful, and the chefs certainly know what they're doing. Put this on your must-do list, and if you have to wait a little bit stop complaining and just know it's worth the wait! read more
