I found this place last summer. It is really excellent! The finest meats around. I love their sausages. They are so tasty. They're chicken taste like something special. This time I got a rack of baby back ribs, and purchased some smoked pork chops as well Both items were so delicious. Their ribs were very meaty and they were so tender. I made the pork chops, pan seared, and then used a little bit of pan sauce with them. They were so tender. Perfect smokiness. So media and delicious. Wally's definitely has a big selection and variety of meats. Their case is practically overflowing with all kinds of meat. Every piece is cut perfectly, and if you don't see what you're looking for in the case, it's likely stored in the back. I came to Wally's because I couldn't find beef brisket anywhere. I originally thought I wanted a flat, but the helpful staff at the counter suggested I get a point since I was smoking the meat. The marbling of the brisket was unreal, and I was happy I took the suggestion, because after some fat trimming and all-day smoking, the flavor was awesome. I really appreciated how knowledgeable the staff were and that my purchase was completed so quickly. The only reason for 4 stars is that I only needed a small amount of butchers paper to wrap my brisket, and someone running the register tried to convince me/got upset with the person that helped me for not buying a giant $34 roll. I understand wanting to upsell, but it was frustrating when I knew I only needed a small bit for $2.50. I did want to point out that some of the other reviews mention a higher price, but quite honestly, that doesn't bother me because the quality of the meat kicks any grocery store's butt. If you're looking for amazing cuts and a variety of meat, definitely go to Wally's. Just have in mind what you need and be open to some suggestions. read more

I ended up driving 45 min out of my way to try this butcher because I needed a last minute brisket for a gathering. I've since been back again because the quality of the meat, the friendly service, and the availability of a variety of meats and cuts that aren't always easy to find is worth the drive. Skin on pork belly may not be in the case, but they have it in the back. They offered to trim what I bought because it was larger than what I asked for too, but can you ever have enough pork belly? While you're there grab some bison steaks, or elk if your tags didn't work out this year. read more

This place is great. It smells amazing and you'll truly find quality meats! The people behind the counter are super friendly, even willing to call you when a product you're interested is in. Where else do you get such a service? Not many places care about their customer base as much as these guys do. Their beef jerky is delicious as well. You pay a decent penny for it but it beats out Jack Links by 1000 nautical miles, and we live in Colorado, there are no oceans here. Come by for meats, or come by for sausage, or come by just for the smell. It's worth it. Plus, local business, support them! read more

Found Wally's just recently. What a find! They have a wide array of ALL meat products and wonderful variation on their items. Other items such as sauces, rubs, chili etc. Staff are right on the ball as soon as you walk in for you to know they are ready to help. I get my meats there now instead of King Soopers. An old fashion meat market except the but you don't put his thumb on the scale. Justin and all the employees there really know their cuts of beef where the flavor is add listens to what you want in a steak. They make good suggestions but ultimately they will give you what you asked for. Yes it's a little more expensive but well worth the extra cost and what you get in flavor. Their Dry Aged beef is worth the wait. I tried Piedmontese beef for the first time last night along side of a regular Strip Steak. Wow what a difference! Wally's Is unpretentious and locally owned. Love that! Walk in and they greet you right away and are happy to help. The shelves are stocked with provisions to help you jerky, char broil, smoke, baste, brine, boil, bake or burn your favorite cut of any fowl and footed beast. Speaking of which, the meat cases have nearly anything your heart desires, and they are happy to help and extremely knowledgeable. Today we were here for the jerky. They have a variety of bison, whitetail deer and and some house made beef jerky. The house made was quite delicious, and the sweet lady was so nice to give a sample to us! I was surprised to like the whitetail jerky! Not gamey tasting... slightly sweet, not Smokey at all. Great beef jerky in my opinion. Thanks Wally! I'm glad we stopped in! read more

This little meat market is packed with all things meat for you carnivores out there. They also have the best chicken! For you grillers and smokers, Wally's offers sauces, seasonings and pellets of mesquite, hickory etc. Jellies, home made jams, stock (seafood, duck, venison). Ordered half a doz. items from them a few weeks ago. The baby back ribs were some of the best we've ever enjoyed. The ground beef is delicious, the fat beef wieners excellent, the frozen pie was pricey but out of this world in taste and texture. One minor problem was solved with a phone. We discovered this place on accident and even though we've moved further away, it's still "our" butcher shop. They have tons of options to choose from (lamb, scallops, mahi mahi, steak, sausage, etc) and they give you what you want with quick service. Prices are a little bit high, hence 4 stars, but you can get good quality with their "freezer specials" that are 20% off the full price on steaks (these are two days old instead of fresh). read more

I would agree that the staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I went to awakes fir the first time and bought a package because I'm used to buying in bulk. My freezer is about half full now however I will update you when I cook and taste the quality meat. Also they only let 5 people in the store at a time due to Covid 19. It wasn't a problem and it is quite the popular place. I'm hopeful that this is my new favorite place. read more

I haven't even stepped foot into this establishment and already have a bad taste. I understand places like this are extremely busy during the holidays - demand is high, I get it. But if you have a customer, or a potential customer calling to ask a simple question, don't be rude. Don't laugh at someone, put them on hold, and then tell them to just come in and figure it out before hanging up. Customer service like this is completely unacceptable. Being in the customer service industry myself, I was extremely insulted. It isn't hard, and literally costs you nothing, to be kind to someone and answer a simply f'ing question. Really loved finding Wally's. In the 7 years I have lived in the US this is the first butcher I have found and I have travelled to nearly every state. This is a forgotten art and butchers need to be supported and I was so excited to find this shop. However it does come to the quality of the actual meat. And to have the highest quality means we must look at the DIET of the animal. Sadly grain fed beef leads to a lower flavour to grass fed. The colour of the meat, the grain of the meat and the flavour of the meat has lead me away from Wally's. PLEASE respect and support the local farmers who take pride in a healthy cow and I am sure you will have even more support from the neighborhood. Let me know when you have grass fed, humanely treated beef which was once a normal produce to find at a butcher. read more

Wally's is a little pricey for some items, but the quality of what you get, combined with the skill and knowledgeability of the staff, makes it tempting to shop here more and more. Additionally, Wally's is the only place I've found to buy some favorite items that I hadn't had for years! They have positively the finest quality meat that I've yet found in the area. Everything I've purchased has been completely satisfying and delicious. You can tell that care is taken in all their procurement and preparation - they don't just buy in bulk and fling slabs of dead animal around. They will also cut to your specifications - and expertly - upon request. In addition to poultry, pork, and beef, they always have nice pieces of lamb (even soup bones!). They also carry a small selection of game, such as elk, as well as buffalo meat, though this is mostly frozen. But among my favorite reasons to visit Wally's is that they carry excellent lunchmeat, including a couple of items that are very hard to find these days, such as blood and tongue sausage. Sounds awful, but it is positively delightful, and very rich. They also prepare their own sausage (excellent, of course) and beef jerky (some of the best I've ever tasted in my life). If you want to buy high-quality meat from a local family business, who obviously care deeply about their product and their customers, try Wally's. read more
