A U-8 scallop that spans the size of my palm.

I was going to wait after trying a few more items from here before writing a review, but I'm just too excited! You guys, Alaskan Salmon Company is a hidden gem that I wish I learned about much, much earlier. It's a seafood wholesaler that usually supplies to restaurants, and it turns out that restaurants have been getting better quality seafood than we were able to find in grocery stores. We ordered two pounds of Canadian salmon and two pounds of what is just described as "jumbo scallops" but ended up being these beautiful U-8 scallops. (I weighed them after drying them off, and there were seven in a pound.) The salmon was fresh and we turned it into a delicious meal with little effort, but can we just talk about the scallops some more? While it wasn't indicated whether they were wet or dry, I think they may be dry scallops. Prior to cooking, the scallops had a pinkish hue. I didn't have to do much to draw the moisture out before searing, and the sear turned out perfectly. In addition, my husband said that the scallops reminded him of ice cream because it had a sweet and creamy taste to it. This local business is now at the top of our list of seafood. We're already putting together another order for more salmon, the tuna poke cubes, and...you guessed it. Scallops.

How have i lived this close to such amazing Salmon at such an amazing price? Not sure is the answer. I went in first thing on a Monday am. I was told fish comes in twice a week...one of those days is Sunday. So Monday fish is prefect. I ended up pan searing and serving with homemade chimichurri. I am a huge fan and will be back VERY OFTEN.

I'm visiting from California and this is the by far best salmon I have ever eaten. Wild caught and so reasonable. Give it a try.

Great Salmon. Bare bones establishment but fish was fresh, delicious and reasonable. A little hard to find and not well "signed".

I had to inform her of the Parisian, which I knew she would love, and tempting her to visit me sooner than later. This market is my absolute favorite for everything from a quick pick up bite, to beautiful produce and a meat/fish counter which will make you want to turn into Julia Childs herself. Don't get me started on the chocolate offerings or candies from small (some local) businesses which are to die for. All of the staff is polite, informative and helpful. The wine shop next door has some unique finds and def worth grabbing a bottle for yourself, a gift or to share at a dinner party. Only bummer about this place...the hours. I get it, but the early close time gives me anxiety, gotta beat the clock.

They offer a number of options. Once you order, they prepare and call your name when ready. The turkey, avocado and bacon was a real hit. Huge, fresh delicious. Love the arugula. Inside the store is stocked with fresh, organic vegetables, lots of Italian specialty pastas, EVOO, balsamic vinegars, cheeses, meats, deli items. ...and a full butcher shop. If you are a foodie or just love to eat really well, Marczyk's should be in your list of places to visit frequently. Loved it. Also a wine store next door -- now whats not to like about that combination.

The "Ship Faced" cocktail was one of the worst drinks I've ever been served. It literally tasted like someone popped open an oyster and poured the juice directly into a glass of vodka. Not oyster-inspired. Not pleasantly briny. Just oyster liquor and vodka. It was so unpleasant that I took two sips and couldn't force myself to drink any more. The Mango Spritz wasn't any better. It was thick, aggressively sour, and had absolutely none of the light, refreshing qualities a spritz should have. There was no balance, no refreshment, and certainly no "spritz." Two sips and that one was abandoned as well. The truffle fries were incredibly bland, with only the faintest hint of truffle flavor. If someone told me they forgot to season them, I'd believe it. The caviar was honestly the only decent thing we had, which isn't exactly a compliment considering it came straight from a tin and required no real preparation. The lobster sliders tasted like the lid fell off the pepper shaker as a practical joke and the kitchen decided to roll with it. The amount of pepper completely overwhelmed any lobster flavor. The happy hour oysters also tasted questionable and far from fresh. Whether they were actually bad or not, they tasted concerning enough that I spent the rest of the evening wondering if I was going to regret eating them later. When both cocktails are undrinkable after two sips, the fries are bland, the sliders are buried under pepper, and the oysters leave you nervous, there's not much positive to say. Very disappointing experience from start to finish.
