My most recent experience has been getting my engine oil, transmission fluid and real axle lubrication changed out. Although the service wase xcellent as usual, I discovered yet another valuable service on offer at Kwik Kar. With todays' costs on everything rising, its important that car owners have an estimate on car parts that will need replacement in the future for planning and budgeting purposes. Items like exhaust systems, brake pads and rotors, timing belts and chains etc. do and will fail unless replaced prior of failure. Preventive Maintenance. Scotty gave me a good rundown on when I could expect to replace my brakes on my Infinity and gave me a projection of when I will need to replace the exhaust system in my second auto, a Dodge Caravan. This type of personalized care, gives me the peace of mind that I can take trips knowing that my autos are in good condition, all preventive maintainance is up to date and operational systems are being watched by Scotty and his team. This is a flat-out lie. Number one, my oil was checked on the level ground inside of my garage. Number two. It was overfilled by a half inch above the top dimple on the dipstick. I don't care what your guy's documented in the system, somebody lied. That is absolutely not acceptable! The fact you thought you had to educate me on what high mileage oil is for is insulting. I paid $2,300 for an alternator and battery change on my Infiniti Q50 that took them two weeks to fix. When I finally picked up the car, I noticed immediately that it wasn't running right. I drove the car back immediately to the shop and pointed out that the car was handling roughly. The manager then proceeded to go into a number of explanations, which felt like problem deflection and an attempt to gaslight someone who's not as mechanically inclined as them. A week later, I had to put my car back in the shop when the check engine light came on and was informed that Elite Auto did not re-connect key hoses/connections for the turbocharger back to the engine. This resulted in further time and worry (on my part) and damage to the car. Since then, the manager of Elite Auto has been unresponsive to my calls or request for response. Had I known what I know now, I would have sucked it up and paid for another expensive tow to a more competent shop. I'd urge anyone thinking of taking their car to Elite Auto to think twice and go elsewhere.
