Website said you had to wait 2 weeks to get tires installed but on Friday Friday 9am I went as my driver side front tire was very bad, dangerous to drive. Drove slowly to Walmart in Farmingdale Auto Ctr, oddly enough it didn't look busy at all, I didn't see cars coming or going no one around. I got out walked up to the Auto Care Entrance door, and it had a big sign saying "CLOSED" - "Please Come Again!" I thought that odd, since it was not a holiday, and there was no reason for your Auto Center to be closed as it opens at 8am. I was about to turn away, go home, and something made me go to the door to be SURE it was closed..but the door with the CLOSED sign opened! One Mechanic in there, and only one car in the 3 or 4 bays. I went to the guy behind the waiting area desk, as that door too was open too, and asked "So are you open or not? He seemed vague...said "Well, Yea, .... (like he wasn' too sure!) I said "you have a Closed sign on the door" (he said they were very busy) I said "YOu don't look real busy" he asked what I wanted, I said 2 tires, he told me usually you have to make an appt for that , no walk in's. I said when I got my battery 3 mos ago, I walked in! So long story short, they took me but asked where I was parked and if I was parked Close, again which was odd... I wondered why he'd care. I said I was parked very close. He said OK, but I'd have to wait a very long time though, 90 min maybe 2 hrs. I said "that's fine . I was very precise in what I wanted, said I needed 2 front tires, He explained the installation package was $18, I said that was fine and I knew from your website it included BALANCING, which of COURSE I'd want on new tires installed So , 25 MINUTES later, he tells me my car is finished ! It was most odd and I was happy about that, but I did not bother to look in the bay as I waited I didn't think they were anywhere near working on my car since I was told it could be 2 hrs. So when they were finished a short 25 min later, oddly enough, my car was not in the bay but was parked Exactly where I had left it, same spot, only turned around so that the front of the car was facing the open lot area. I was just very happy I was in and out in 25 minutes, but when I got home, I studied the Bill more closely and was actually frightened when I saw on it "BALANCE TIRES" - CANCELLED - DRV front and "Balance Tires" - CANCELLED Pass front! I NEVER asked then to NOT Balance my tires ! Of course I'd want my tires balanced; I don't care to have an accident or null your tire warranty! No wonder I only waited 25 minutes...they apparently didn't balance my tires! I have a hunch, cant be sure, but maybe the CLOSED sign was up, as perhaps they had equipment failure--maybe your Balancer machine didn't work and maybe that's why they were trying to turn people away? The guy was nice, but I was clear about I wanted the installation package with BALANCING. It seemed like they didn't want me looking in the bay area, which I why I think he told me it would be 90 min to 2 hrs, knowing I'd likely not stand by the bay window to look. I Also thought it odd when my car when it was done it was in the EXACT same spot I parked in, but turned around (more room to work I'm guessing) I called and called the Auto Dept Monday am, no one answers the phone. I'm afraid to drive my car as I don't know if my wheels were balanced or not, the bill would indicate they did not do this; I thought all new tires get balanced! I told them to do this. In regard to receiving a battery different than what I requested, here's my follow-up. It's not that the Walmart Farmingdale employees helped me; it's that I emailed the CEO of Walmart , explaining the problem, and enclosed my Yelp.com review. I received a response the next day. Heather looked into the matter, and decided I was correct, and issued a refund to my Walmart account. This made me appreciate Yelp.com and Walmart so much more. read more

Ordered tires online and when I arrived for my appointment to get them installed on my dodge ram van they stated my truck was too heavy and their larger jack was "broken" so they were unable to install my tires.. how are you able to take appointments to install tires and not have the proper equipment to install them? They were unable to assist me in any other way besides refund me for the tires I purchased. Staff was nice and apologetic but manager of auto center was rude and not willing to make the situation right in anyway and could not careless of the situation given I was clearly very upset. I had to reschedule a trip I had planned since I needed to get new tires before my drive. DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE, don't waste your time or money. They should really have a section asking what vehicle you are getting your tires installed on when making your appointment to ensure they are able to accommodate not just having people come in to tell them "no". Especially that they knew their equipment for larger vehicles was broken.... read more

The services provided and they offer is great. They also got our car done in a timely manner. However the "head" mechanic at the shop "Shawn or Sean" is plainly said a jerk. Would not allow to simply watch them do the job paid to do while I was not obstructing the workers in any way. I heard of a customer complain because they put wrong battery so I checked to see if they didn't do that to the car we brought. Then allowed other customers to watch in exact place I stood. Then stopped working on the car all together. Very unprofessional and didn't put me at ease at all. Shame on him for poor customer service! Everybody else was great read more

I showed up on a Thursday during their hours which were posted online, and the gates were shut. When I went inside to inquire as to why, I was told that due to staffing difficulties, they'd be closed on Thursdays and Sundays until further notice....not that they gave any notice in the first place. Seeing as how I live 45 minutes away, it would've been nice if they had posted this online. They didn't even bother putting a sign on the door. I've been to Walmart Auto Care Centers all around the country, and most of them are pretty efficient. Definitely not the case here. I came back for an oil change on the following Tuesday, and pulled into the lane marked, "Lube." Instead of someone coming out to take my info like they do at most locations, I just heard an angry voice barking, "PARKING LOT!" at me from inside the garage. When I asked to clarify that I should park and go give my info inside, the only response I got was another angry, "PARKING LOT!" Again, no sign, just someone acting like I was annoying for not knowing to park and come inside, even though the markings on the ground and the building clearly said otherwise When I went inside, the guy tried to dissuade me from getting service by telling me there were four cars ahead of me, and saying it'd be better to come back another day. This was a full THREE HOURS before closing time. I told him that I had already wasted one ninety minute round trip, and I wasn't going to do that again. He took my info and told me it'd be ready in some time after two and a half hours. I'm writing this review as I wait....and I still doubt that I'll get my car serviced today. If this lousy service really is a result of the shop having difficulty finding employees, then Walmart needs to start offering proper pay, or it's going to cost them in the long run. I purchased two batteries here which I picked up and brought to the auto service center after they committed to installing them in my vehicle After waiting 2 hours I was approached by Tanisha asst store manager. Tanisha told me they would not be working on my car and today and also went on to say they never committed to working on my car. She was not only rude but brusque as well. customer waiting area is basically prehistoric. three metal benches that seat 6 & jammed together. no signage so cell phones in use. no reading material & no refreshments available. had 8am appointment, car was bought in for service after 9am (no response to why & no apology). with no precaution for dirt or grease, mechanic just jumped in car & drove it. this place needs a lot to be desired & is a disgrace to walmart executives, who should step in & clean it up. read more

I have only had positive experiences here. Prices are great and they get you out fairly quickly - especially if you get there early in the morning when they open. I've gotten two oil changes here. I will be coming here for oil changes for years to come. Fast, friendly, and reliable! A+ read more

I've tried calling the Farmingdale NY Walmart for three days now about an auto service order and nobody ever answers the phone at the store.
