I brought my car here for an oil change. The guy running the auto part was low on sleep and he mentioned it a few times after customers brought up that he looked tired. idrove out of there an hour later with no problem.. Fast forward a few days and my battery charging system light comes on and my car dies. No biggie, all alternators go out eventually. Well my mechanic called me and said whoever changed my oil spilled the oil all over my alternator and made a poor attempt to clean it up I called walmart to speak with a manager and got no apology, no remorse in the tone, no aceptence of this mistake, or no offer to make this right. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO WALMART. This was my first time getting service here and I was so happy it wasn't super busy. They take appointments as well as walk ins but mentioned that they prefer appointments. I was looking for a reliable place that wouldn't overcharge me for a car battery and installment. I was very appreciative of the gentlemen that helped me figure out which battery I needed and informed me of how the service went. I would strongly suggest that you never pay for the Lifetime tire balance and rotation option when purchasing tires at walmart. You cannot make an appointment for this and they only take walk-ins, which means you'll be waiting for hours. Also, today is the 2nd time in a row that they that they did a rotation only and did not balance my tires again. This is clearly intentional and a form of theft from their customers. Arrived for an 11 AM appointment for pre ordered tire installation. Shopped for an hour expecting work to be done in a reasonable amount of time. At noon they called to inform me the work couldn't be completed because of a broken stud but they could continue with acknowledgement of situation. After I signed I let them know our mechanic will take care of. Walked by shop to see progress and techs were all just standing around Bull*"$#. When they noticed us watching they went back to work. We had ordered 4 tires. One by one they slowly removed each tire and took over to exchange rims, balance, put on new tires and return to vehicle. That is one tire per 30 minutes. There was no sense of organization or urgency on their part to get the job done. At this rate we won't get out of here until 2:00 to 3 PM. 3 Hrs later Walmart, do you think this is acceptable customer service???? read more

So this is actually a mix of a review of all the walmart centers in the Omaha metro area (yes including Council bluffs, IA location). We literally called 6 auto centers in which no one answered and being transferred back to the front desk probably 4-5 times at each store. This location actually gets one star more b/c out of the 6 different ppl we spoke to at the other stores, this lady actually thought of taking our question and walkie talking the actual ppl working in the auto center to relay our question and our concern that no one was answering our call/transfers. So the questions we had were "Do you do oil changes on mercedes cars, how much is the estimate cost, do you take appointments or just walk ins and what are your hours?" The answers were "yes, no more than $59.95, walk ins only and opens at 7am." So my dad (doing me a huge favor as I'm catching up from sleep from the hectic work week), shows up at 7 am and already 4 cars ahead of him. They start working on my car and as they already drained the oil they realize they don't have the filter for my car. They have the audacity to ask, I'm sorry not ask, tell my poor barely English speaking dad to take an uber to an auto store to bring back a filter for him. Thank goodness my dad stood his ground w/ his limited English and made them realize what a ridiculous request that was. So apparently they went to OReilly's auto parts to get the filter and then charged us for it. It ended up being $103 in total, which is $27 less than the dealership or for this guy that comes to our home, but wow we might even just pay the extra to avoid all this hassle. I actually feel bad b/c Im sure these workers are just overworked, but wow walmart how about improving the most general of neccessities, like having someone answer a dang phone! read more

I got an oil change here once. A week later my car is broken down on the side of the road. Zero oil and metal flakes were in the reservoir. Car was ruined. I assume they either forgot to put oil back on or they forgot to put the plug in. Either way, I couldn't prove it so they did nothing. I only get oil changes and maintenance at the dealerships now. They overinflated the new tires they put on the car, and, while we were on a driving trip, we had to stop and replace all 4 tires and pay for another front end alignment. Terrible service. Mechanics do not know what they're doing. Stay far away from this particular auto center. read more

The 128th & L Street Omaha Walmart Tire and Lube Location. What a circus of arrogant, dimwits this is. Until today I just accepted the fact that by simply showing up and asking for service here, I'm going to be treated like a 3rd rate citizen. I'm going to be warned of a 2,3 or 4hr wait. I'm going to be encouraged to take my business somewhere else, encouraged to come back another day and have them tell me they don't carry Mobil 1 / Valvoline / Whatever brand oil you use - as again they strongly encourage you to go away. And my reply each time "I can leave it as long as you need it. No problem." Two weeks ago today (a Sunday as well) I brought my Chevy in for the usual oil change and tire rotation. I was strongly encouraged to leave as they were too busy however I told them time wasn't an issue. I was then told they don't carry Mobil 1 oil (my oil brand preference) any longer and I could leave and go buy my oil somewhere else etc etc etc all sorts of excuses to get rid of me. I conceded to everything and even agreed to switch to Valvoline brand oil. I simply just wanted my oil changed and tires rotated. After checking in I was then told to come back anytime around 6pm but before 8pm. It was currently 3pm so this allowed them ample time to complete the work on mine and the other 1-2 cars they had waiting. (Walmart Auto Technicians don't move very fast, again I've accepted this). I returned around 630pm and my car was done. Great! I paid and left albeit slightly upset that I had to switch oil brands. Here we are today. Another Sunday. The same Walmart T&L. My head still hurts as I type from going nuclear on these halfwits a few hours ago. So... I brought in my Ford around 145pm earlier today. Was told frantically "were too busy, don't bother blah blah". As per usual I said "time isn't a concern". Was told that it would be 2-3 hrs minimum maybe more and they couldn't guarantee a tire rotation. I said sounds great. Next I very clearly said "so I'll be back around 5pm" to confirm this with the frantic and almost catatonic like man who was gazing deeply at a stapler as if he was trying to figure out how it worked. He replied "yes 5pm". I gave him my keys and left. 445pm I return to a locked building. I have to walk all the way around to the front of Walmart and then inside to the back of the store to the tire and lube section. Once arriving there it's a ghost town. Locked up, lights off and everyone gone. I find a employee to ask what's going on. Almost immediately as if it was a trained response she says "I don't know nothing, I don't work back here". Of course she doesn't know anything. Why would she?! She then pages another gentleman who comes to reaffirm me that he also knows nothing and doesn't even know where the Tire and Lube people are or what the hours are for T&L dept. Did I mention he had "Assistant Manager" printed on his name tag. So now yet another person shows up and he knows even less yet. I keep asking them all "what work was completed on my car? What oil brand was put in it? How much is my bill" Basic things. No one had a clue. No one knew how to read the ticket or use the register. It was a site to behold even for Walmart standards. Finally I read the ticket myself which stated the work was completed at 345pm and the tire rotation I requested not completed. Yet the employees left early. I was enraged for the shear fact of wasting my time and how poorly the customer service is at this location. No one had a clue or was sure of anything. The blind leading the blind. I was told by the Assistant Mgr. that they are short staffed so I shouldn't be so upset. If this is the case then lock the doors and hang up signs saying "sorry, we aren't accepting any service for the foreseeable future." Why treat customers like AHOLES just because your job requires some level of competency from you which you clearly lack. read more

Worse customer service Went in for a pit crew oil change because I am cutting my budget a little closer than I like this Christmas. My car desperately need an oil change and my local mechanic was not able to do it . When I came in I saw a deal about fuel injection cleaning for $20 plus $10 off if I did high mileage thought I was getting a deal. They finished my car I asked if both services where done in which the mechanic replied we could not do a fuel injection cleaning so we just did the oil change. I explained that he should have talked to me before he continued because I thought I was getting both services for roughly around $23 dollars each coming out to be $46 plus tax. Spoke to Todd Van Essen who started helping me when I explained my plan he promptly scoffed and said I would not put that oil in that car I explained that that was his opinion but this was my car and a cheap oil change is better than no oil change. He then said he did not my tone and that I was getting snippy with him and he did not have to change the price for me and he will do it, was his words. I don't hold fights so I kept my mouth shut but he acted after that, that I should be super thankful for the price change. I won't be back. If there is a thing for zero stars that's what they would get from me I stood there for a very long time waiting to get helped everyone walks past me no one said anything to me when someone did come around they informed me that they were no longer taking orders because they had to go on lunch so it would be a two hour plus wait there was also like six other people working in the shop so kind of confused me on why they could not change my oil or tires considering the fact that there was multiple people in that department and only one person was going to lunch. read more

Routine oil change ruined my motor! Have not received my final bill from current garage but as it stands now it past the $5000 mark. In addition they have had my truck for two weeks which has cost me $1000 so far in rental car charges. Walmart Auto left my transfer case completely empty and ruined my motor. The current garage said there were ZERO leaks in the transfer case or anywhere else! Walmart 2000 miles earlier checked off on the transfer case during a routine oils change. Despite my proof Walmart refuses to pay for damages. The manager of the L street location discouraged me from filing a claim saying "you won't win." I am a single mom and try and save money wherever I can but please...pay the extra money from a reputable garage as this has cost my family dearly. This is a hands down case and I have the proof but they use their power to push people around and take advantage of the people the claim to serve. David vs Goliath!
