Annoyed with the Walmart WiFi: Walmart has recently changed their guest WiFi service in their stores to require a verified email address from guests and customers in order to gain access to Walmart's WiFi service. In addition, Walmart's management wants me and guests to agree to have Walmart 1.) Determine my presents in Walmart stores. 2.) Associate information about me with my Walmart account. 3.) Improve products and services and 4.) Gather market insights about my in-store purchases and activities. What was a non-threatening courtesy WiFi service, is now a WiFi policy that is as invasive as if McDonald's required it's guests to go the order counter, show identification and ask for a key for use of the bathroom. Also, the login screen did everything to hack or spoof my default email address from my iPhone by prefilling in my email address. It was very hard to close the screen without in inadvertently clicking on use my address. No cancel or decline option was available. I did try to enter in a bogus address to see if it would let me gain access to the WiFi. It sent an access code to that fictional address and asked me to enter in that code. read more

I received two baby bibs, navy blue with nascar logo from there vendor Fanatic. They gave me the run around so much I fin told them to keep the money. So right now the place feels crowded and not a lot of product options. Walmart + is really a negative! James Island SC store has shorted my home delivery three times in a row. I assume the driver never needs to buy groceries, they are taking ours. Missing 2 gallons of milk last time. Today it was a case of scott toilet paper. (How does the delivery person forget a case, it takes up the seat!) Walmart complaint just refubds the price and says reorder. Walmart you have screwed up three times in a row, Why would I ever want to try you again??? This location is located in a shed shopping center and there's plenty of parking. It's not always the cleanest or well lit sometimes the lights are broken or spotty/ blinking. I've been here a few times. Items may or may not be in stock and I do not have a variety of a lot of items as this is a smaller location. The staff are not friendly but they do welcome you and greet you as you come in as required not desired. The lines can get long during peak times and they have limited staff. The prices are typically cheaper than other stores but you have to deal with the bad customer service bad lighting typically not clean and uniquely smelly place just to get a deal. Between customer service and the bakery don't believe anything they tell you. I needed an edible image printed and since you can't speak to anyone in the bakery directly I had to tell the customer service lady what I needed printed. She goes over to the bakery and comes back to the phone and tells they can do it and I told I appreciated her help and I was on my way. I arrive at the store with a copy of the image I need printed and I'm told that their copier is not operating and if it was I would have to email the image. Total waste of my time. Modern communication isn't what it's all cracked up to be. Don't be so cheap that you can't put phones in your various departments and rely on customer service to have all the answers. read more

This Wal-Mart used to be just a regular one - clothing and other dry goods. They finished a major remodel recently and in the process, they managed to jam all the other departments (grocery, electronics, clothing, personal care, jewelry, pharmacy) into the store. And by jam, I mean that the aisles are barely wide enough for two wagons to pass carefully. Good luck doing a food shop here - in the evening hours, the place is a sardine can. Way too many people trying to figure out where everything is. It's not their fault. It's a little scrambled. Dairy and cheese is in two different fridges (the fridges are actually pretty good - double doors and they can be opened first from either side). It took me three passes down the food aisles to find the small section with coffee. Product and brand selection, even for Wal-Mart, is limited. As for the rest of the store, it's also mixes. For example, there was a display of pillows in the kitchen area next to the crock pots. I am not kidding you. The "home" section was in one area but the "home office" was in a different area of the store. I picked up what I absolutely needed and I got out. If you're looking to save money and buy Wal-Mart, then I suggest you spend the 20 minutes and drive to South Tryon or Charlotte Highway in Fort Mill. read more

Not all the way sure about this place yet it's super HIT or MISS here. The same as any Walmart there are about 50registers and only 5 cashiers of that. The volunteers are really nice, some of the cashiers are nice and others HATE their job which is weird because there are plenty of people in he world who need a job and don't have one and would LOVE to make a income. Anywho, back to my review. The infant department falls short of my interest 100% as there is just not a lot to look at in this section. I believe it should be a larger section and more options as the Arboretum is conveniently located not to far from plenty family homes and communities which would make this location ideal to pick up infant and toddler items. The fruit and veggies offered here are pretty decent to say the least. I won't say they are always good but when they are good they are good. I almost always find what I need here but I much better prefer the SC Walmart as its larger and has much more options and a tad bit cleaner and more staffed. read more

Very busy Walmart located in the very busy Arboretum Shopping Center, that I try to avoid at all costs, but sometimes that's just impossible. Service here is hit and miss like all Walmarts, but it is fairly clean and well-stocked. There is a Subway located near the entrance that is usually reliable. This will be a short review. I went to Albany where the biggest Walmart is built...two floors with escalators for the shopping cart exists. So this was not the biggest I've gone to. However it is not the smallest. I could not figure out the layout of this place, it is organized in an odd fashion. The employees are also hard to locate if you need assistance. I was not wowed by it, its just another Walmart. Cashiers need to smile more. A small smile goes a long way. I would go back just because of their $6 sweats. Love them. read more

Great place to go, at night, to avoid the crowd (oh, bring someone with you). Place - it's somewhat dirty on the outside, sometimes a little messy and blah inside.. Just focus on your needs and essentials, and you don't have to worry about the looks (too much). Selections - happy to see they have everything! Is that not how Wal-Mart is? They never restock the cotton balls (swisspher) that I like, and they didn't have anymore of the Neutrogena Naturals in the green organic tube (I went on the night they were restocking). Staff - the people were actually friendly. I wished I grabbed the girl's name who restocked the shampoos/cleansing washes area. She was friendly and kept tab on me to see if I found what I was looking for, after I came back to check again.. to see if the product was all up. There was another nice cashier who was super friendly! She went out of her way to please her customer, when another cashier was not able to accommodate me. I overheard an Walmart employee at the self-service cashiers stating that she is not willingly to sanitise the cashiers after each customer uses it. Why should we provide Walmart our business if their employee are not taking action to protect customers or themselves? This Walmart serves my needs. I only go here for quick runs for small items and medication, so I don't have high demands for this location. It's not a superstore, so the selection is limited. I don't interact with staff, but the pharmacy staff have always been nice. Also, self checkout is always the way to go with any Walmart. The parking lot can be hell on Earth sometimes, so I definitely recommend going after 10pm. read more

I was racially profiled at the self checkout line I had a lot of items but I was checking out all of them they tried to tell me that I didn't check out A item and even though I did we continue to go back-and-forth I had two people watching me breathing down my neck the whole time and try to make me re-pay for items even though I already had them scanned I was trying to check out constantly micromanaging me even though they were not doing that to any other customer I felt I felt disrespected I am pregnant and I was trying to get stuff for my nursery with my husband and the fact that this is going on hurt me to be honest this store was it comes out was very low stock didn't have anything in it it was a complete mess isles were crowded with boxes hard for me to even get out with a cart for me to be spending $300 I shouldn't have to deal with this kind of disrespect and I truly do feel like it is because we are too young Black people they really should be more careful on who they hire. read more

Let me be straight with you. When faced with the choice of Target or Walmart, I will almost 100% always go to Target. I've seen too many stories/documentaries about the ahem...Walmart way, and just prefer the way Target does their business. BUT. If you must go, remember this is one of the better locations. I was in the Arboretum and needed to pick up some nail polish remover, and moseyed on in. This Walmart isn't the biggest...it's not a Supercenter with nail salon, tax prep, alterations shop or anything like that, but you'll find a good selection of goods. (There IS a Subway sandwich shop.) Compare this to the Walmart on South Tryon, and it's night and day. This one is spotless and the employees don't seem like they're bored out of their minds. The shopping experience is just better. More cashiers, better organized rows. Still, it's Walmart. What else can I say? read more

For some of us that want to grab less than 10 items, the carts are huge and no baskets to be found. I have shopped at this Walmart off and on since it opened years ago. It used to be well managed, well stocked with friendly and efficient employees but not so much now. When I walk in there now I feel as if I am in a giant Dollar General. The store is dirty, merchandise is sparse, poorly displayed and there are pallets in the middle of the aisles blocking your ability to move around the store. The store always looks as if it needs to be swept and merchandise straightened. Employees although friendly are not really helpful and make it seem as if it is a chore to help you with anything. I know that COViD is taxing and trying for all of us but if you are going to be in the "big box" business then be the best big box in the area. The Walmart store at the Galleria just a few minutes away is big, clean, well stocked and well thought out. I will not be returning to the Arboretum Walmart again to shop. merry christmas. my husband bought me a computer for christmas. i was so excited. i opened it up, eager to start using. the computer was locked. it had someone elses name and password set up. called the 800 number - they are closed. my husband ordered the computer brand new online and chose the store pickup option. he went to pick up the laptop. it was in a brand new, never been opened box. why is this computer locked? why cant i use it? typical walmart. now we have to run out the day after christmas to handle this nonsense. thanks. never will we ever use this store location again. read more

This WalMart location is quite small and its just one if their older locations with tough expansion opportunities since the area is established. They are slowly expanding what they can but still have a lot of work to complete to the bigger modern locations. read more

Pharmacy: I am writing about the Walmart pharmacy at the Arboretum store. We used this one for a couple of years when we moved here. We felt that this pharmacy was just too busy. The personnel often seemed rushed or inexperienced. Then we found that our insurance would cover other pharmacies without costing us more. We switched to another smaller pharmacy that does a great job. They remember us, call us back, are very capable. I think that many people assume they can get the best price at Walmart. Not true. Our advice is to check other pharmacies and see if they can do just as well on prices. read more

I have gone to this Walmart Pharmacy on and off for years and I have to say they have always been courteous and professional and done exactly what they said they would. The only complaint I have is when they close for lunch from 2-3 pm I get why they do but it has caused a few problems for me in the past time wise as most other pharmacies never close from open to close. They have lots of prescriptions in stock that other pharmacies don't. They can be very busy but that's the nature of shopping at Walmart. read more

What can I say about this walmart location. This one seems to have taken a turn for the worse. I havent been here in a while but atleast 5 years ago this Walmart was a fairly well maintained and well stocked location. Went to buy V-day Dove chocolates. I had a coupon $1 off 2 bags. Of course they were out on V-day eve no problem. I get 2 regular bags of them from the candy aisle. During checkout coupon did not scan. Cashier calls for assistance. Manager said cannot use coupon because they are not Dove V-day chocolates. Really??? Its same brand just different packaging. The one star is for the pharmacy. I consider pharmacist professionals. Somehow, in my case, they didn't seem to be able to follow their protocol nor common sense. I understand that prescriptions sent directly from doctor's office are treated last, and that order ought to be changed if I dropped in and asked to process my prescription. I came back an hour later than the time they said the prescription should be ready. "Sorry, not ready yet, filling it right now". Standing by the counter for another 40 minutes (the traffic was slow, only one another customer was waiting there), then asked again as I ran out of patient. "We were out of the hanging plastic bag." What she implied was that she has to wait until someone picks up his/her prescription, then there will be a bag available to process my prescription. Are you kidding me! I was standing right in front of them! what if no customer pickups for another 30 minutes! Talked to the pharmacy manager, and got some mechanical apologies. read more
