I should get paid as a Walmart employee because I ended up doing their work for them. My friend ordered a patio table set online and we went to go pick it up. After going to the online-store pick-up kiosk tucked away in the back left section of the store, we ask for our items and start waiting. 10 minutes go by.. 20 minutes go by.. nothing. We see plenty of other people getting their online orders, but we get nothing. Finally, I go up to the counter and ask the lady what the issue is and she's says "Oh, we can't get to your box". WTF does that mean?! We ask if we can take a look at the situation in the back. Maybe 50 ft from the door in the 2nd aisle of stored goods sits our box. It's apparently 'too heavy' and needs machinery to service it. The 'machinery' can't access the box because there is a random display set-up right in the middle of the access way. My friend and I end up hand-carrying the boxes out, one weighing 60lbs, one weighing 80lbs. Sure, they're kind of heavy, but nothing 2 people can't carry. So, if we didn't go ask what the reason for the wait is, who knows how long I'd be rotting in the pick-up area for. The people working that kiosk were absolutely useless and not helpful in the very least. It was annoying that I had to do their work for them. The lady asked if there was anything else she can do for us, so I asked her for a customer service survey so I can complain about her inability to perform her job duties and pissing off customers. She stared at me, trying to see if I was joking. At any rate, expecting good customer service at Walmart is like expecting kind and helpful service at a Chinese restaurant, or even expecting the LA Clippers to win a game. You should just assume that it doesn't exist or won't happen. read more

I'm writing this review compare to the one in Monterey Park (Rosemead location). Duarte location is much cleaner, faster, no non-sense, crews. Everyone seemed well-trained and nice. I don't know why I continue to patronize this Walmart. The worst service ever! Human Resources should make a mandatory training every 6 months. I ordered from Walmart.com, I was told that I had until 12/31 to pick up my items. I go today 12/28, they sent half of my order back. The woman at the counter had no clue who returned them or why. How could you not like the convenience of buying everything you need under one roof from household items, to groceries, to personal grooming stuff? And all for discounted prices... This particular Walmart store is convenient for me whenever I'm driving home from Pasadena on the 210 freeway. If the traffic is pretty bad, I exit and I kill time by walking around this store and doing a little shopping for things I need. I also like coming here to check for action figures to add to my collection (yes I am still a kid at heart with a checking account). This store is completely disorganized. From the merchandize to how the employees are staffed. I went to walmart to purchase a couple items and ended up leaving empty handed. After waiting close to half an hour at the cashier desk in the sporting goods section to inquire about items I left to speak to the manager. After telling the "manager" that me and a couple other customers had been waiting close to half an hour waiting for assistance she basically called me a liar and said that there was a cashier there helping customers out two minutes ago. Decided not to waste any more time talking to people who weren't interested in making money so I left. This Walmart is straight ghetto. I don't know what's going on with their sewer lines but as you walk through the front door the main entrance you get a horrible wiff of God only knows what. I used to like this Walmart they have a cutting station In their fabric area but my last two visits put an end to it all. I'm in the cosmetics area looking at the nail polishes and I hear a bunch of women chattering like you know kind of quietly screaming so I turned to look and what do I see a cockroach crawling underneath the aisle. Of course they have 16 year old Becky there stocking the shelves she's not about to do anything about it. The restrooms were the equivalent of a high school boys locker room. I was in the area with my family, and I needed some new headphones. We stopped by this location because we used to come here quite often, but I will not be going back in the future. The headphones were locked in a case, but when we asked for help Jorge literally acted as if we didn't exist. Ignored us completely. He was helping this lady who was giving him a hard time, but I mean he LITERALLY acted as if he didn't see or hear us. He could've said anything. This review is for the wireless section of the store. The department manager, a brusque hefty guy, is pretty intimidatingly rude. Went to get a new phone the other day and he continued to talk down to me but at the same time bark orders at me. He warmed up to me a bit towards the end of my transaction but not by much. Also, he brushed off some elderly woman while helping me... sad! :( Only redeeming factor is that their prices on cell phones are super cheap, and they only charge for the upgrade prices as opposed to the non-contract price like Verizon stores do. read more

The lady at the return Mahnaz claimed they would not return snow chains because there is nothing tire center at this Walmart. I get that people who work in places like this have to deal with a lot and difficult people but this is not ok. There were just a group of works all outside. There had to been close to 10 people. There were just tremendous long lines where they went into the aisle. Is it wasn't for this wounderful lady i would still be there. She stop what she was doing continuously called for back up for the registers. She got me checked out super fast while the lady next to her just wants to gossip on why the lines are so long. It's been several years since I walked in here, the last time, it was a hurricane of chaos and crap was everywhere, on the floor, in the aisles, and so many pallets, shelfs half empty, and employees that couldn't really give a sh&t . Well the employees still don't give a sh&t, I was ignored by a greeter, I mean how hard is it "welcome to wal-mart!"... But I'm thinking now, on the interview "Can you... breath?" "great, you're hired" so maybe Wal-Mart was glad to get anyone that could "stand". The Assistant Mgr (I could tell, I used to work in Wal-Mart yrs ago while finishing college), looked like he was out to kill and hence I'm gathering people pretty much left him alone today. So why the 4 stars? The store was spotless, on a Saturday, with a weekend crowd, that right there, just simply amazing, hats off to the Manager, good job with end caps, pushing the right merchandise out and making improvements. Just a few improvements, morale, I mean real morale, not morning meetings where you tell everyone "You should be lucky you have a job, there's thousands out there looking for work", but "we appreciate your work, the customer is the boss, 15 minute break ! wet bar, beers and chips on us, please limit the fornicating to the receiving area" etc Well maybe not the last part, but hey these tired employees look like they need it. When I was at Wal-Mart, when Sam Walton was still alive, people were at least a little more motivated. I don't regret working there, managing one side of the store, I was taught the basics of business hands on, better training than I'd gotten anywhere else. Anyway, things we got were cheap, Body Soap at Target $5.99 same stuff at Wal-Mart $3.50. Lotion Cream crap (I have no idea, the missus bought it), $15 in a store she frequents, $3 at Wal-Mart. Good prices, for when you need to stretch the dollar, otherwise we go to Target, a little easier to get in and out of though sometimes more $. We went during the day, I'm not sure I'd go at night, the area just seems like a place where bad things happen at night. If you're single and alone...don't go there at night, bring a friend. If I save one life, I've done my job.. Anyway message to Johnny K, Wal-Mart is boring? You've never seen boredom till you live in a place where the nearest mall is 1 hour away , your driveway is 5 miles long and the phone company charges you $ to put up a telephone pole. I just ran in to get a few office supplies. The section was half of a small aisle and they were VERY limited on what they had. I just wanted a paper folder with pockets and a college ruled notebook. They only had those flimsy rubber/plastic pocketed folders and none that were paper. I was very displeased because it's such a basic thing. Another visit to another Walmart. Only out of necessity and only for a very few things. I don't like or support Walmart and my one star is based on the fact that compared to other Grocery/Superstores, Walmart is the worst. This particular Walmart only has one good thing going for it, the self checkout. I wish all Walmarts had self checkout, because I seem to be more capable and better at ringing myself out then the Walmart employees are. Self checkout means very little time wasted to ring up the few items I have. Only downside to the self checkout is Alcohol is a no go, you want booze you have to go through the regular check out line. I gave this walmart two stars because of the lady that was sweet and genuine after I had a bad experience. I always go to this walmart and go to the self check out stands. Its convenient and fast I like ringing up each item knowing the cost. So this time was horrible, my family and I went to the self checkout with all our stuff. I was shopping at this store today and everything was fine until I needed help getting a phone charge cable that are locked up in a cabinet . I asked a employee who was on the floor if he has keys to open the case and he stated he was off already I would have to ask the gentleman at the counter so i made my way to the counter and I see two employees having a personal conversation so I said excuse me do you have the key to open the case for a charge cable . Parking is a mess..and so is the store. Shelves will either be unstocked or stocked very messily. Lines are always long (thank god they just installed self-checkout stations). Employees have no regard for customers. I was clearly asking questions to them and they told me to hold on so they could continue conversation with their co-worker. Unfortunately this is the closest store to me, so I can't really choose another Walmart to go to. Might just bring my business to Target down the street. Ghetto, dirty and crowded no matter what day/time you go. I've never been able to get everything on my list here in one trip. They're always out of stuff, especially items that are on sale. If you make it to the registers without being grossed out by the run-down appearance or getting too frustrated by the empty shelves, be prepared to wait. At night, they have a ton of employees on the floor. But they're only there to clean up. In the evenings, you can expect a 30 minute wait at the registers. They seem to be really short on cashiers. read more

I usually go to this Walmart about 10pm or later and when we check out, there is always a huge line and they don't have self check out. The service given by checkout employee (I do not know his employee id because he did not wear the name tag. He is a young Asian) was totally unacceptable. 1. The face given to customers was like saying "I really, really hate this job." 2. No greeting (I do not expect it at Walmart stores) 3. Work ethic was unacceptable (this is the one problem I had). He was literally "throwing" stuffs. He threw the "separator" (the one on the belt to separate items). He literally threw my items on the bags. I have never expected good customer service at Walmart. Walmart tries to keep the price low and add new items. The purpose of all of efforts is to boost its revenue. Why doesn't Walmart try to improve its customer service? Where do I start?? Long story short...I left my Christian Dior Sunglasses at the cash register. I didn't notice until I got home which was an hour away. I called the store and Grace picked up the phone, first she told me they were not there! I responded that they are really expensive and could she double check? She placed me on hold and gave it a second look. When she picked up she ask me to describe my glasses, so I did. Grace then told me to come pick them up!! I was so happy when I arrived Vivian had them there waiting on me with a smile! I love these girls not only are they honest, but they have the absolute BEST customer service I have ever witnessed.
