I went to this Walmart with my son whose 19 I got some items and also got me some liquor when I got to register the cashier asked for mine and my sons ID we presented IDs and she then told me they couldn't sell ME the liquor because my son was under age I stated I wanted to see the manager, he comes over and asks me was that my son when I said yes he said they couldn't sell me the liquor not only that they wouldn't sell me any alcohol for the rest of the day, I asked him for corporates number and he told me to get it from customer service...I'm waiting on a higher level management call back. read more

The store is pretty creative about changing layouts over the years. I am glad they retained the DIY arts and crafts and expanded the sewing supplies. The service personnel are pretty helpful EXCEPT for the electronics section! I am shopping for a new phone and because I am not buying an iPhone, no help! All the Reps did was wave me towards the two rows with Phone plans and phones (ATT, Cricket, Family Phone, Consumer Cellular, etc) but with ZERO effort to help explain all the different plans and different prices. Because the phones or the plans have very little description, but instead the tags say "Ask the Rep," how do you expect me to choose a phone when the Rep does not even want to help??? I guess maybe those phones are "set-asides" only for the Phone Reps and their friends and family??? So yes, I bought two phones from Wally's in the past, but now no more!!! I liked them better before the expansion, though that could just be nostalgia speaking. Having everything behind glass is also a major pain-in-the-you-know-what. Get used to hearing Spanish everywhere. They removed the fish tanks and gaming consoles, which was half the fun of coming here. Was waiting at the customer service desk by sports forever and finally got tired and left. I have no idea if workers have gotten worse, or having not gone in a while opened my eyes. I'm at Walmart getting groceries and various items with my 12 yo black son who has autism and is paranoid of Covid so he religiously wears a mask when we are out. This security guard walks up to him behind me and is mumbling under his breath staring in his direction, took a min before it felt weird as I was browsing for portable speakers which are behind the locked glass but they were right behind me over my shoulder. Imagine my surprise turning around after noticing him staring down my son who looks like a deer in headlight, rightly so, as this gigantic security guard is in his personal space not 2.5 feet away in a stance that immediately made me uncomfortable. Immediately made me think of self defense class, like a fighting pose, he was pulling his pants up like he was about to pounce. I ask what's wrong? After continuing to stare at my son while I'm staring him down and walking to get in between as he finally breaks the stare, he's goes something like "oh nothing, I thought he was about to steal they put on the mask right before they grab and run, sorry" (paraphrasing) and he left. UNACCEPTABLE! Black children look older. He's 12 and further, one shouldn't be thought a criminal because they have a mask on when we are just exiting a pandemic. People are still paranoid and still catching covid so wearing a mask today isn't out of place. If someone doesn't do something don't be running up on them. Especially a child. read more

This review is going to be real simple. I stopped to get gas from tne Walmart gas station. As I was pumping gas, my tummy started growling. I wanted something simple and Walmart grocery is right here I entered the store and man the store was packed. Full of people walking, talking and buying groceries. I looked at the salads. They had a good selection but they didn't look as fresh. I stepped around the corner and got distracted by the tiny pinwheel wraps. These are just perfect for me. I picked 2 flavors.. Chicken, Cheese, Ranch & Bacon. 4 little Pinwheels for $3.78. 4 mini Turkey & Ranch Pinwheels also for $3.78. What marries with the pinwheels...Salt n' Vinegar Pork Rinds. If the pork rinds had hit the spot with the right amount of vinegar, i would have given 5 stars. This pork rinds just tasted plain. My tastebuds was sooo ready. None the less...the pinwheels hit the spot. Definitely adding these little guys to my favorite food list. read more

COVID-19 Phase: Masks worn by workers and required to go in. This place is HUGE!!! One side is grocery and the other is home and garden. I walked in, in awe! It is so big! I just had plans to get diet hot coco and gum so luckily I only planned on staying on one side. The grocery area alone is gigantic! There are sales everywhere and they have everything you can think of and more. Luckily it is pretty organized too. On the way to hunt for the gum they had a fresh lunch section and I found some spicy wraps that looked good so I had to get that. The gum was easy to find. I couldn't locate the hot coco so I asked a nice worker and he told me it was isle isle 8A. Yes, they have so much that they have it organized that way! I found the area and looked for the diet hot coco. They didn't have the one I was looking for, but they do have no sugar added, but it was in a huge bin and I didn't want that much. It was pretty clean and fun to look in awe of all of the stuff they had. That included a frozen food area and even a bakery. I decided to take the wraps and gum, do self-check out in these times and go. There is a worker regulating the self-check out area and she was nice. I paid for the order and left. Pretty simple. There is no point in letting them know I'm on my way to pick up my order if I had to wait more than 20 minutes for my order. They need to organize the orders in the time they are arriving. The internet for the Walmart said the pharmacy was open until 10 pm so I drove over to specifically pick up my prescription. When I get there at 8 pm it's already closed. Apparently they have temporary hours and closed at 7pm. Gas is over $5 a gallon, why not charge the website to the actual times open so I can plan my life accordingly? I ordered groceries on Tuesday to be picked up on Thursday between 2-3pm. I received a text that they were running behind and my order wasn't ready yet. At 4:45, I received a text that my order was ready so, I checked in drove to pickup and waited and waited until 6:00 when I finally got my order. It's a big Walmart but I only visited the mobile phone section. I was on the search for a prepaid SIM card for hours in downtown Fresno and couldn't find anything until we came here. Service at this specific area was a little confusing, I'm not sure how many people come looking for SIM cards but he didn't know the difference between plans or which option would provide me with what I needed. You can probably find anything you are looking for here, just do not come with high expectations on service and organization. read more

If you are planning or have purchased electronics through this store with insurance coverage for extra money. DON'T DO IT!!! If your electronics gets damaged for any reason because accidents do happen, the insurance company won't cover certain damage, neither will Walmart and they don't let their customers know what's covered or what is not covered!!!! They should provide a pamphlet or booklet to the customer explaining what the insurance will and will not cover, so they can make a intelligent and informed decision to purchase it not purchase the item with the insurance coverage, and they do not! Too late after the fact. Plus I've seen opened packages of underwear repackaged and put back on shelves! So they'll take back opened packages of underwear, but not your damaged electronics! Given the fact that sunny-side doesn't have a TARGET store, this is as good as it gets in the area for a quick affordable shopping at a one stop store that has: groceries, furnitures, clothing, pharmacy, body care, fresh baked and cooked food, gardening, crafts, paint, bike and so much more. I mean if I lived in the area, I would just shop here, maybe late at night to avoid the crowd. And to be frank I've seen worst walmart's in Fresno, cough (shaw and peach walmart), so this one is actually quite decent. This walmart is huge, like probably 1/4 mile long and its looks nice from the outside with its organized parking and aesthetically appealing exterior . The layout inside is a little confusing and sort of unorganized, and its the first time ever Ive noticed this at a Walmart: they check your receipt before you leave like at Costco, and also their toiletries section has as a separate check out lane. So maybe kinda feel like they dont trust people here, but can't blame them, better safe than sorry. For god sake this is Walmart, we all know what to expect already, I mean you dont come into walmart expecting Whole Foods experience, its pretty much the same sort of cheap look with its messy and not so presentable aisles, its grotesquely unappealing white fluorescent lighting and the wave of ghetto and normal average people that usually shops here. But the positive includes the low prices and the wide variety of selection you can get. The associates aren't too bad here, I mean they are the typical walmart associate, they aren't going to ask you if you need help, instead you seek them for help if you need it. I do like how they have a nice looking McDonalds inside the store, also a surprisingly nice done-up fresh baked and cooked food section, plus a well stocked aisles of groceries and supplies, I mean its no different from the other super walmart in North Clovis. They also have self check out here. I was also surprised with how well their craft section is done up, its prefect place to get art and craft supplies. Then the clincher is they advised my banking institution the groceries were delivered 4 days later at 10:00 at night. Which by the way they were not. So, although I go grocery shopping ever week at Walmart and love the store, I would never recomend to order on line. Any problems that occur they will not correct or assist you. This Wal-Mart always has everything I need. When I try to go to the other ones in the upper class areas of town they're always out of the stuff I buy. It's so frustrating! But at this location I never have that problem! 1 stop and done. I've also noticed that their pricing is less too! Customer service is usually very helpful and friendly, even at the customer service/return desk! The negatives are that there's usually people begging in the parking lot, the smell of marijuana is overwhelming on many of the customers, and the occasional woman yelling at her baby daddy on the phone using every cuss word in the book or doing the same to her kids in the store. Definitely not a comfortable isle to be in at that moment! Also, this store seems to have the most crying kids I've ever experienced in 1 store! I don't know what it is, but parents just act like their kids aren't even crying. It's nuts really! Lol! If you go around 1 or 2 and leave before 3 it's usually not a problem. That being what it is the change in the layout of the store is very convenient. I have to say that I am genuinely a positive person when it comes to business and person to person interactions. However every experience I have had at this Walmart has be rather unpleasant so I stop coming here and started driving an extra 20 minutes out to another location anytime I need to visit a Walmart. I do not mind extra effort for atmosphere and good customer service. My last experience went as follows: I decided to stop by this Walmart because my niece had just gotten her ears pierce and I wanted to get her, her very first pair of pearl earring. I am a believer in the idea that all girls should have pearl but when you're a baby and will likely lose them they do not need to be from Tiffany& company. Anyhow I went to the jewelry dept. and a family was getting their baby's ears pierced. There was no one else standing in the area so my sister and I approached the jewelry counter and patiently waited so that when the associate finished with the family she could help us. As we were standing there the associate looked right at us and said nothing which at first I thought was no big deal. By the time the associate finished 3 other people were standing around. The associate decided to finally speak and said she would help us but AFTER she serviced the other 3 people that arrived AFTER us. My sister and I proceed explain that we were there first but were basically told we were wrong. So we informed the manager about what happened and he was apathetic to the entire situation. Thus I resolved to not continue to give them my business. Now this may only be my impression of tis Walmart and I am sure others have had positive experiences here thus I can only speak to what happened to me and I have never been positive at this Walmart. read more
