It's a Walmart. Clean, well stocked and courteous staff. The only disappointment; no weirdos that you always hear about.

I cannot recommend Moon Valley Nurseries Plant Protection Program and Erik Reed (Tree Care…read moreSpecialist) enough! My Bay Laurel and Japanese Blueberry trees were struggling, and I was on the verge of giving up on them. Erik made an unscheduled visit to my home and took the time to explain exactly what was going wrong and showed me how to water properly so the roots could finally breathe and absorb moisture. Since following his advice on deep and infrequent watering and periodically adding Soil Conditioner my plants have completely bounced back and are thriving. Erik's passion and patience and the personalized customer service provided by the Plant Protection Program are unmatched.

What really impressed us was that Erik wasn't focused on simply making a sale--he genuinely wanted to make sure our plants would thrive for years to come. He took the time to understand our yard, sun exposure, and goals, then designed a beautiful landscape plan that was both practical and visually stunning. His expertise and attention to detail gave us complete confidence in our choices, and it was clear he truly cares about his customers' long-term success. If you're looking for someone who combines exceptional design skills with honest advice and outstanding customer service, Erik Reed is the person to see. We highly recommend him and will definitely be returning to work with him on future projects. Shawn and Kimberly Las Vegas

There is a plant availability list located on the website which also includes pricing. It is easy to find, but at the nursery sign you leave a paved road for a dirt driveway. The dirt driveway curves around and leads to a small parking area that offers a paved handicap parking space. The office is immediately to the left of the entrance. There were a few people in the office when I arrived. A ranger in the office helped me locate the plants I was interested in and were available. A few carts are available to help bring plants to the office and out to my vehicle. At the time, the greenhouses were not open. The plants in the greenhouses were being prepared for future sales in the Fall. Plant payment options are either cash or credit card. She asked for my name and phone number and entered that data along with the plants purchased in the computer. The ranger said that the data can be used if I ever want to know my plant purchase history. The prices for the plants I wanted were reasonable IMO. The penstemmon and desert marigold were of good size and looked healthy. It's a nice plant nursery offering pretty views of the mountains. I will return in the Fall to check out what is offered. The Ranger said to check the website for the Fall plant availability list around late September to early in October. I'm hoping the dirt road will get paved soon now that the nursery is open to the public.

Unfortunately, they're so slow growing, our grandchildren may eventually be able to plant them in their yards, but they'll be fun to raise until that time! The nursery has a limited selection, but everything they stock is native to our area and will do excellent in the Las Vegas climate.

Star Nursery really came through for me. I called around to a few places looking for bulk rock, and…read moretheir pricing was actually better than most. I was quoted about $92 per ton for river rock, while other spots were noticeably higher for the same thing. Customer service over the phone was great too... super helpful, answered my questions without trying to upsell me, and just made the whole process easy. Delivery was only $50, which honestly surprised me because a lot of places tack on way more. Only thing I'll say, why is rock so expensive in Las Vegas when we're literally surrounded by it? But compared to other quotes I got, this was definitely the best deal and the least stressful experience. If you're looking for bulk rock and don't want to feel overcharged, this is a solid place to start.

This Star Nursery location on Cheyenne in North Las Vegas is definitely worth checking out. Their…read moreindoor plant selection stood out to me right away everything looked healthy, well taken care of, and not neglected like you sometimes see at other places. They're also running 50% off pots right now, which is a nice bonus because their pots can be a little pricey but you can definitely tell it's because of the quality. With the sale, it actually feels worth it. The whole place was clean and organized, and the staff were friendly and easy to approach if you had questions. Only thing I noticed (and kinda missed lol) no cats at this location. I've seen the little nursery cats at other Star locations and they're always a cute touch. Still, overall a solid spot if you're looking for good indoor plants and quality pots.
