Love the easy access right off the freeway when I come from town along with entering is easy regardless which direction you're coming from and what I do love more is that whatever the reason that brings me to Kapolei chances are I stop here to either pick up lunch/dinner, pick up something at Safeway, fill up gas or even drop off donations or my recyclables...yup they have it all here. Many places have come and gone which I was sad to see my favorite craft store closing though it's nice to see that it gets filled up with newbies like Shimazu Shave Ice, 85o Bakery along with hand full of restaurants and various serves all are found where with lots of free parking makes it a great place to gather for whatever your needs. Shopping and dining in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii... This VERY large strip mall has almost everything! I haven't had time to explore it fully, but someday, I will! So far, I have been here twice recently for the Hawaii State Federal Credit Union. In the past, I was at Sushi Bay... a very popular eatery. I know that there's a Safeway... and I saw some fast food restaurants across the parking lot... and Hele Gas Station! That's good to know! This shopping center is the OG of Kapolei. I come here several times a week to eat at restaurants like Sushi Bay, Tanaka Ramen and Pho & Co, shop at Longs and Safeway, bank at Hickam FCU and First Hawaiian Bank, and get awesome massages at Blue Thai. Love that it has lots of parking. read more

This is for the Easter event held today 04.05.2025. There was an Easter event posted on their IG that said they were going to have activities for the kids from 11am-2pm near Safeway lawn. My kids and I had dentist appointment at 730am and didn't get done til like 830am. We were early so we did errands. When we got to Safeway area around 1030am there was absolutely NO SET UP AT ALL. There was a lady who was hanging up signs that said bubble activity by Safeway but NOTHING. Me, my kids and some lady with her kids waited there till 11am but NOTHING. Safeway employees came out and said they KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE EVENT BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT THE ONES HOLDING THE EVENT. These people who hosted the event wasted our time waiting there. Sad because my kids wanted to do Easter activities and see the Easter bunny. I posted on their IG saying how sad they weren't there at the designated time 11am. We was NOT WASTING our SATURDAY waiting on people who was either arriving late or doing a NO Show. We ended up leaving because my kids were hungry and tired waiting. There was no apologies from the people who were holding this event. We will NOT BE SUPPORTING THIS SHOPPING CENTER AGAIN with their activities. read more

Kapolei Marketplace is a strip mall right next to the freeway. It is anchored by the grocery chain, Safeway. It contains a multitude of different businesses. It has eateries, banks, automotive, salon, and specialty stores. The only reason I come to this place is for Sushi Bay. My husband always goes into Game Stop. They have a few fast food chains located here. I've seen KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Panda Express. read more

I come here a lot. It is now a busy center. Miss those days when it was still growing and it looked kinda dead here. This is one location you use to measure the growth of Kapolei. It is now a hustling bustling center just like the city. This center helps to make it convenient in that growing chaos. The biggest problem is trying to get out of the parking lot. The main area is if you park on the east side of Baskin Robbins, the First Hawaiian Bank end, you can get caught in a jam. My recommendation is to park on the other side closer to where you can exit by the Tesoro gas station. It may get jam there too but you will not have to wait as that long. Chilli's Like coming here for Monday night football if possible during happy hour. McDonald's Kinda small but doesn't get crazy busy like some other locations. There is a little bit of the homeless element in case that may bother you. First Hawaiian Bank I don't think i've ever walked in here with a line. Maybe I'm just lucky. Cookie Corner These are okay. I'm not that much a fan of them as my other family members are. I will partake to be social. Baskin Robbins Good to get that $1.31 scoop on the months that do have a 31st day. On those days, you may want to get here before lunch because there is a good size line that continues through dinner. Safeway How convenient. My fave, every day, grocery store. Goodyear Used them once when I didn't have a choice due to circumstance. Prices a little high than average. Da Crawfish and Crab Shack This is the happening spot right here. Love this place. Put this on your seafood bucket list. Good desserts too. Great to hang for a couple chugs. Friendly owners. Sushi Bay This is the other happening spot especially if you like them super jumbo size. Gets kinda crazy when it is super busy. Jeans Warehouse I like walking in here to enjoy the ac while I'm waiting for my name to be called next door. If I have traveling guest with me, it never fails they buy something. I think I should get a commission. Longs It's not the location I frequent but it's nice when I need something on the spot. Tesoro It's gas. Fun Factory My son likes it but why is is so dimly lit. Game Stop Another store my son likes that I drop money into. So, you can get gas, food and have a little fun here. On a whim, I decided to go to Kapolei, since I was bored after donating blood @ the Blood Bank in Dillingham. Got on the #C Express and it was a good 1/2 hour ride to Kapolei. It was awesome to be on the bus and not have to spend $$$ on gas. But anyways, Kapolei Shopping Center is literally the Shopping Center that you see when you get off the H-1 in Kapolei. It's on Farrington Hwy and Makakilo Drive. The shopping mall is really a strip mall, that was larger than it seems like. There is basically everything you do need here, unless you prefer WalMart down the road. Now I know why people who live in Kapolei dread the commute back into town every morning to work. It's pretty crazy! My favorite restaurants here in Kapolei Shopping Center include the McDonald's, Chili's, and Baskin Robbins. I did try Sushi Bay and Pho 808 on this epic adventure to Kapolei, but I wasn't impressed with either of them. See reviews on them. Other than that, the day trip to Kapolei and the vicinity was nice and would love to be back sometime. There is plenty of parking in the vicinity. There is Jack in the Box and Burger King across the way, along with Starbucks and Jamba Juice across the street. I'm sure they are not part of the shopping center, but it's there if you need them. I might have to come back and try JulieZ. I still haven't tried authentic Filipino food. The only time I do have filipino food is at the office parties. Also got a chance to score 6 DVDs for $11 at the close out sale @ Blockbuster video. I guess I was there at the right time and got major savings. Will likely come back. Oahu's "second city" shopping center... A bustling center with many establishments from grocery store, game store gas stations and multiple eateries. Like many shopping centers, people come here with their families to shop, eat and just spend time together. This isn't a mall and not much for the little ones to do but there is a Fun Factory on premises to keep them busy, at least for a little while. Lots of parking, very clean, the restroom are kept clean but you do need a code to use it. The downside is that there is only one clothing store at this location. Plus is that further down is Kapolei Commons where the big retailers are. When I'm here, I frequent Longs, Sushi Bay, Jeans Warehouse and of course after all that...I have to choose a dessert place. With the every tantalizing aromas from The Cookie Corner and Baskin-Robbins, it's hard not to get dessert and also very hard to choose where to get your dessert. Many on the west side of the Oahu has totally relied on Kapolei shopping Center for years. In earlier years this was the only thing around, only in these past five years or so has other options popped up. Like Target, Costco, and Down to Earth, these few stores have only been around for a year or so. So even though Kapolei Shopping Center may not have the best stores it has what you need: Drive through Restaurant Market Dessert joint Salon Bank Clothing Store Etc... Parking is fine most of the time while you're driving through the shopping center someone will pull out from a space right in front. read more

Town just seems oh so far away, when you live on a mountain in the middle of nowhere (a.k.a. Makakilo). With Honolulu being just over a 20 mile drive, which can mean a drive that lasts anywhere between 40min and an eternity, a lot of folks who live in the Kapolei/Makakilo area don't venture outside of their designated square on the chessboard. Fortunately, there is Kapolei Shopping Center. A one-stop shop(ping center) for all, or at least most, of your needs. If you need something, there's a pretty darn good chance you can find it here. From Longs and Safeway for groceries, Radio shack and AT&T for electronic and cellular needs, even clothing at Jeans Warehouse, and toys/video games from Game Stop. There is a Blockbuster, and i think even a Redbox in Safeway for movie night. Right down to a dive shop, and a little corner bar called T-Spot. Even a GNC for you health/fitness buffs. There is a First Hawaiian Bank branch off on one side of the shopping center, and 2 or 3 different credit union ATM's just outside. So if you're looking to stay away from that FHB atm fee, that might be the spot for you. And there is always a ton of parking. The lot is huge, and even if you cant find a spot directly in front of the store, there is always one further back in the parking lot. There are a ton of food options at Kapolei Shopping Center, Sushi, Chinese, Korean, Pizza, and of course all your favorite drive throughs (mcdonalds, taco bell/pizza hut, KFC...), so even if you didn't necessarily want to sit down at Chili's, there are tons of options for a quick grab and go. I know, I know. Many of you reading this, are thinking, "Chuco T. you left out the most important part". Fear not my fellow yeeps, I was simply saving the best for last. COOKIE CORNER!!!! That's right folks, the final safe haven for a good chocolate chip cookie that doesn't come from a bag. Chips Ahoy can kiss my chips as far as i'm concerned. For my money, a nice home made style cookie is where its at, and Cookie corner is where they're at. ...but you already know that. If only the Starbucks was in this shopping center, and not across the street, it definitely would be a one stop shop, and might have gotten that 5th star. read more

The planning on this shopping centered was very poor. Don't even bother going during peak hours because you'll be stuck in the parking lot traffic! You'll literally be sitting in a parking lot! I think this is a pretty nice Shopping Center. I like how there are multiple entrances to the area, one by McDonald's and the other by the gas station. I also how there is a little bit of everything in this Shopping plaza. There is a numerous amount of food places to grind: McDo, Pizza Hut/Taco Bell, Sushi, Chili's, Panda, Cookie Corner, HoHo's Chinese Restaurant, etc. There is Safeway and Long's Drugs if you need to stock up on some stuff. There's some miscellaneous shops such as Jean's Warehouse, GameStop, GNC, Fantastic Sams, etc. which also serve as a good balance with the many things going on at the Shopping Center. It's conveniently located right by the Freeway (H-1) exit and entrance. Now, it's right across the street from the new Walmart. Whenever I am in the area, I tend to stop by here sometimes to just cruise or make a pit stop by a store. I think it's one of the nicer and better outside Shopping Centers on the island. This one just seems to have a good balance of shops and stuff. It's also a very convenient place to go which adds to the many other convenient places to go to around that Kapolei area. we went to the Kapolei trick or Treat on Saturday which was from 5 to 7 - was totally impressed at the people and the participation of vendors - participating vendors had signs on their doors maybe one or two did not but there was a lot participating - and I think it was a good thing - no worries about people spiking candy - with LOTS of family and parents participating - good thing was that there was a lot of eateries where families took their kids afterwards - Fun Factory gave out candy - and they had loads of famiies there - first time - and we will be back - just thrilled at the positives this event had read more

Walmart use to be my favorite store now it's Target. Kapolei Target is always clean and has very friendly associates.
