    Makana Market Wednesdays and Sundays
    Michelle N.

Had a nice staycation at the Hampton Inn, which is connected to the mall. Lots of parking. On Wednesday and Sunday there's a market with live music and vendors. They have lots of seating in the grassy area. I like to take my time at the different shops and vendors. They have a kiosk with fresh mini donuts that are really good. They have several restaurants to choose from if you want to have a nice sit down dinner. Really close to the waterpark, Ko'olina lagoons, and Kapolei's other shopping areas.

Open air mall you can probably shop til you drop here. Arrived half an hour early but it's perfectly fine since I'm on a massage chair that works under an umbrella for shade, nice strong breeze, airplane soaring above and gentle contemporary Hawaiian music being played. Lots of stores. In front of me are Macy's, Orange Theiry, Reyn Spooner, Soha and behind me HM, NFL Gear and TAV that I came to check out. Further down you can find way more shops, restaurants, theaters and more.

Went to look for some local Hawaiian wear and Ala Moana Shopping Center has gotten away from Hawaiian wear and a lot of the store don't have local fashion wear! So we had to take the drive to the west side which had so many locally owned shops and businesses with a variety of Hawaiian wear! A gem on the west side if you are looking for great Hawaiian wear! And don't want to go to Waikiki or the swap meet, which has Hawaiian clothing but more made for the tourist wear! The are was clean and the restaurant and shop was great and lots of parking and not that crowded, so if you dislike the crowds in Waikiki and Ala Moana, you should check them out!

Did ya know that the Ala Moana Shopping Center isn't the only open air outdoor shopping center on Oahu? Have you folks ever heard of - Ka Makana Ali'i? Yup, yup....da Westside also has a major outdoor mall to serve the people of Oahu. Honestly, it's a haul for me to get out to Ka Makana Ali'i, but if I'm ever doing some work on the Westside, sometimes I might pop by to check it out, and maybe get something to eat at the little food court. Although this outdoor mall is no where as big as Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ka Makana Ali'i does have the basic stuff like - restaurants, a small food court, theater, a gym (24 Hour Fitness), a hotel just next door to the mall, rental car agency, and lots of free parking! For a list of businesses, please see this link for the Ka Makana Ali'i directory - https://www.kamakanaalii.com/directory/ I'm glad they built a major mall out on the Westside, as the community on the Westside is still growing.

I lm starting to love it here!!! Even if the place is closed, the out door has the center stage and parents are just chillin with their keikis. Letting them unwind and burn some energy before leaving! LOVE IT! It's spacious for the kids and there's plenty of seating for adults and tables for those who wants to eat here or even just relax. The lounge chairs are pretty comfy too! And best part is... we can kinda hear live music from moani's. Lol There's even a "wishing" fountain! Yay! IYKYK! Last one was Windward Mall late 80's early 90's. Ala Moana DONT REALLY COUNT because it had Koi fishes. So we couldn't throw money into the ponds. lol! Definitely coming here more!

This is the newer outdoor mall in Kapolei just off of Kualakai Parkway and Kaplei Boulevard. It's an outdoor mall so can be hot during the day. They have numerous restaurants some of which have come and gone. Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen are a few to name that I like eating at. They have recently added Olive Garden and Aunty's Hot Pot which I have not visited just yet but hope to soon. They have many stores but not too many stores that I would shop at and nothing like Ala Moana or Pearlridge. Kamakana Alii has its own vibe and also several local brand stores. They have an open courtyard and an area for performances which is nice. Many families will come and you can see many children playing there. Twice a week, they have a farmers market. Wednesdays from 3pm-7pm and Sundays from 11am-3pm. They gave many produce, crafts, and ready cooked meals which is great! They have Olino Theatres and Foodland Farms which is Awesome! The food court has a variety of eateries and many other food spots like Cinnabon, Alyssandra's Lumpia Express. It's a nice outdoor mall but not too many stores but they do have great eateries and restaurants.

Lots of parking....that is the first thing that comes to mind. Added an Olive Garden a couple of months ago. But there are still some empty storefronts. With Macy's, Five Guys, Old Navy, H&M, CPK, and The Cheesecake Factory - it resembles a mall on the Mainland. There is a Foodland and there are some local eateries (L&L) and local shops (HIC) , so it's a decent mix. Taco Bell offers a fast food option.

The Center for West O'ahu is a blessing and a great start to having some sort of place to go to get your errands and a place to go. Out on the west side the closest major mall would be Pearlridge which is still quite a distance and Kamakana Ali'i yes is small in comparison to the other major malls but for the quick bite, gift or relaxing hangout it's exactly what is needed in this area. The only downside is it's very outdoorsy and can be hot during the summertime but if you're in the area which I frequented when I had a bestie that lived in Ewa we did enjoy coming here quite often as we never had to struggle for parking and crowds. What is amazing is that you can find an incredible amount of local merchants that you rarely see at any other malls that it feels like you're at a local craft fair and is nice to manually seem them versus online ordering. Food court is painfully incredibly small but conveniently do have a few free standing fast-food and restaurants near by including a Foodland Farms. Keep up with the latest events and check out their website www.kamakanaalii.com and Instagram @kamakanaalii thank you!

#26 for 2020 I love coming to this mall to meet friends for dining and movies. The Olina theater has the reclining seats for a little higher price I don't mind paying for. Limon and Cheesecake Factory are my go to restaurants here. Really like Limon serving Peruvian food. Nice to relax at the bar or outside. This location of Cheesecake Factory is better than the crowded Waikiki location. Thank goodness this is way over to the west side. Magnolia Ice Cream is in the food court for an alternative dessert spot. I've hung out at Coffee Bean but the noise level is high. There is more than adequate parking but can be tough if you're trying to get a spot close to the food court or Cheesecake Factory. There is more parking on the other side where they have 24 Hour Fitness and Wendy's. Wifi is available for free. Some times it is spotty. Don't like getting all the sale msgs either but that's the cost of their Wifi. I'm not much of a mall shopper but I do like how spacious it is. When it does rain it is tough to avoid it unless you run into a store for cover.

Whenever I try to redeem the discount or a promo, the store treats me like I'm a criminal. Here's a few examples: The Foodland offer: free reusable bag with any $50 or more purchase. I thought this was a great promo, get some grocery shopping done, get a free bag. Win-win. NOT! Some of the workers have no clue about the promo, others say it's only good on the weekends and yet another said the promo expired. Foodland get your act together. I'm spending my money @ your establishment, isn't that a good thing??? (The promo doesn't say weekends only, and the promo is still posted on the KVC site with NO mention of an Expiration Date) L&L offer: 10% of your purchase. When I arrived at the restaurant I showed the cashier the promo ahead of time just in case they weren't gonna honor it, I would eat elsewhere...she looks at it. Asks what is that? Omg really? It's a promo your landlord is offering and you have no idea about it??? She takes my phone and goes to the back kitchen to talk to some guy and asks him about it. The guy says yeah they can accept that. 10% off isn't a real big deal, but I'm helping this establishment by eating there. Smh. So again, the discount program is a joke since the tenants are so resistant to honoring it. I don't understand why? If this brings in the traffic, why not honor it? Instead you make your customers feel like criminals or maybe even worse than that. I grew up shopping @ the Market City Foodland and L&L Hawn BBQ has always been my go-to local plate lunch place so I was elated to see these two tenants here in kapolei, expecting the same great friendly service...boy was I wrong! Kapolei is a growing community, guess I'll be looking elsewhere for my groceries and bbq plate lunches.

I am a happy and loyal Costco customer! Thank you, Tracey, the T-Mobile expert who helped me out today. I found out that if I fix my screen, I can get the new iPhone 17 for only $100 to trade in with my iPhone 14 Pro Max! Wow. Thanks for the customer service. I will be back Thursday!

I shop between Costco Kapolei & PC Sam's Club every other week. Costco has healthier snacks while…read moreSam's has more variety of junk snacks and candies. Costco has a pharmacy, hearing aid center, eye exams & tire center. I haven't used any of those services but do like that there's 2 tire inflation stalls outside next to the tire center that ANYONE can use for free! The parking lot is large and the gas station now has 3 pumps per aisle like town (but faster) for a total of 30 pumps. I've never waited in long lines for gas since they added the 3rd rows! The food court is inside to the right after the member center with cheap pizza & hot dogs as their main sellers. If you want your whole pizzas ready faster, when you enter Costco, go to the right and straight back to put in your order...then shop. If you're gonna be awhile let them know so they'll start it later! The bathroom is past the food court by the employee lockers. There's lots of stalls, its clean enough & has paper towels not just loud hand drying machines. They're usually pretty stocked with all the bulk food and items they sell. The lines can be long but the cashiers are quick, friendly and efficient. At the self checkout side, they're trying to scan items while in line so when you get to the pay kiosk you just scan your membership card, your order pulls up, you pay & go! So much quicker, I hope self checkout fully converts to that! P.S. shop before a holiday because they're closed on more holidays than other stores are! Happy shopping!

That's how much they fill the ice cream. The other locations are great. Stay away from Kapolei.
