This Walmart is not as crazy and busy as most other locations. This is also a super center just like most other new ones. Parking lot is very large and there are lots of spaces. Prices are better than most other stores with the same products. Employees are nice and helpful only if you ask them something. Produce is not fresh. A lot of their fishing lures are always sold out. Especially the salt water ones. They have a pharmacy here. There are always people asking for money outside. The have large carpet cleaners for customers to rent at a good price. See customer service for rentals. They also have self checkout aisles so you don't have to wait long in lines. You don't see very many "people of Walmart" at this store. read more

Experienced a very rude employee at the customer service counter around 1pm on 6/22. Waited in line for the customer service counter to ask about the availability of a product at other Walmart locations that was out of stock here. The woman initially helping me stated her co-worker right next to us had the ability to look up the availability of the product. She asked me to wait next to him while he finished with the other customer... I was totally fine with that. Then another Wal-Mart employee walked up to me and asked if I needed help. I began to respond and stated, "No thanks, I'm just waiting until...." At that point the employee (skinny dark haired white guy in his late teens / early 20's) who was scheduled to help me when he was finished with the customer raised his left hand and pushed it right in front of my face and stated to me, 'ah-ah' as if I needed to 'shut up'. He then told the other employee, 'I'll be taking care of it" and the other employee walked away. I was in shock at his behavior and waited until he was done with the customer. He did a computer search and told me, 'We don't have that item in stock at any Wal-Mart within 30 miles' I asked for my sales receipt back (from the other Walmart where I had purchased the item he attempted to locate) and he gave it to me.... I then told him, 'You know it is extreamely rude to hold your hand up to someone when they are talking!' He only responded by saying' 'Have a good day.'... No clarification, no apology, nothing! What amazes me was he saw me get approached by the other Wal-Mart employee and heard him ask me a question regarding if I needed help. I guess he did not even want to give me the opportunity to state that I was being helped out. Unbelievable behavior by an employee who has absolutely no business working in customer service!!! read more

This is my preferred walmart location. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The store is always clean and well organized. It is the only Walmart I have felt this way about! I sometimes drive out of my way to shop here rather than the one near my home. read more

This store has seriously poor customer service. I have shopped here since they opened. When my new puppy was old enough to go into the store she has been shopping there with me. I am a nurse and now at 8 months old she is moving to become a therapy dog in training. She has accompanied me multiple times into this store. Always have been dog friendly. Well unless you have some clerk that thinks not to be dog friendly and reports to manager since she saw someone she knows and starts playing. The manager informs me only "service dogs" can be in the store. I guess now that she is bigger she is not welcome. Only little dogs are welcome service or NOT. So I was kicked in out after spending an hour shopping for my week. I will go and spend my money at Target today. Walmart is hypocritical. Shop elsewhere folks. My family and I have always called Walmart "Hell"... at one point my mom had to work for them; she made it half way through her second day before they sent her running. And over the years, across the country Walmart has given a contestant horror to walking into any of their stores. This location though, makes the 13th ring of hell look like child's play. This may be the only Walmart that you can walk into and actually walk away with nothing. Not only do they not have any product on the shelf to actually purchase, but what they do have is covered in dust and mouse prints because clearly the people here are smart enough not to shop here. Since I cannot give them 0 stars, I figure they have to earn the one star. Personally I think that one star comes from them managing to hire all of the nations mentally ill people and bringing them into their stores. But I am sure that their employment choices lead to many of their issues since most of their staff cannot even speak, let alone read English. Then again, unless completely desperate, I don't think a sane person would ever apply there. read more

I read all the reviews and I cant help to think, are you people shopping at the same Wal-Mart I am? First off, the parking experience was pleasant. I did notice that there was no shopping cart stalls as someone had previously stated, but being that this parking lot is so small and that the store was a Home Expo before and Wal-Mart didn't build this building, I understand why. The store is small in the inside, But I knew that they couldn't use all the space they have in the building because the people of Encinitas didn't want them their and now that have empty parts of the building behind walls (they do hope to use this space in the future and expanding the store) The store is very clean and the shelves are well stocked, they don't have a lot of options to choose from verses other larger Wal-Marts but hey, i was able to compromise being that the store is so clean and close to home. The employee's were very nice and helpful. I asked a couple of employees at different times to point me to an item and they all insisted on walking me over and showing me the Item instead of pointing. And Employee wasn't sure where an item was but she said she would go with me and we can look together. She found me the item and helped me look for several more, always asking if she could help me find anything else. Sweet gal she was. The liens for the checkout I noticed were not long, and when 3 customers are in line they seem to call other cashiers to help. The cashier greeted me and asked if I found everything okay. the service was fast and they thanked me as I was about to walk away. Walmart and "super" don't seem to quite fit together as this store seems quite a bit smaller than most. The three stars is mostly of the location, which is right next to the Forum and many other stores and restaurants (like Urban Plates or Islands). Parking seems tight in the area so watch out for fender-benders, and the speed bumps are some of the worst I've seen. Only venture here if you absolutely have to. read more

Each time after I received an email indicating that my items are ready for pick up , some of my items cannot be found at the store after much time wasted while I'm waiting for clerks to find my items . Not as big or well stocked as other Walmart locations. Entices a calmer group of patrons. If you've ever been to a Walmart before, you've probably seen how crazy it can get. Fights over product, shoplifters being chased out the door by loss prevention, lines longer than Disneyland. This Walmart does a good job at avoiding most of that. Most of the times I have shopped here, it has been rather uneventful. Prices are cheap, selection is good. They have car products (limited selection) at a bargain here. Checkout has always been fast (they have a self checkout area with around 6 machines). Would recommend if you need a few things and are in the area. read more

This Walmart is small. I mean it's a Walmart, you are suppose to walk in and have it take 10 minutes or more to walk to the aisle you need. I walked in and could actually see all four walls without straining my eyes. They have "stuff" but the selection is extremely limited and no where near a match for the selection at Target. To top it all off there are NO buggy corrals at all. (Seriously WHO designs and builds a Walmart and does not put in buggy corrals... NOT someone who actually plans for people to shop here, that's who.) So watch your car for rolling carts, or carts propped up on green spaces through out the lot. The only thing going for them is that it takes you less than 5 minutes to walk in, find out they don't have what you need, and walk out. After my first experience with CALLING this store, I don't why I bothered to actually try to make a purchase. After searching online for a bike, I found one that I wanted. The website said that a white Schwinn Clairemont hybrid 7 speed bike was available in store for pick up. Great! I went to the store to get it. I was so looking forward to spending the day riding my new bike! Not so fast! I got to the bike section and I didn't see it. I flagged someone down. The employee told me that this had happened before where someone came in wanting, "the white one" and they only have this purple one. I said well it says you have it online. He said but the skews are the same so we actually don't have this white one but let's check out front. I hobble up front with him (did I mention I have a broken toe) and he takes me outside to the rest of the bikes. They have about 4 purple with rainbow Schwinn hybrid cruisers. And they were RUSTY! Yep. WALMART IS SELLING RUSTY BIKES!!!! I told him I hated the purple with rainbow since I'm not about to go to gay pride week. I wanted the white. But okay what else do you have? Nothing. Everything is rusted or there are two single speed options. I don't want a single speed. How can I know if I order this online that you can assemble it for me? He says he doesn't know to ask customer service. I wait online for customer service and ask if they assemble bikes. She thinks so but isn't sure. (??!!!) I ask if I order the bike will it show up white or purple. She doesn't know. I ask for a manager and sit down and wait. The manager comes out and I explain this whole silly ordeal and that all I want is to buy the bike that the website says is available which is a white bike. (No picture of a purple one) She says, "well can you choose a color?" "No it's just white." "Well I don't know." "But on your website it says you have this bike and you are telling me the SKUS are the same for the white one and the purple one so how will I know that I am ordering the right bike!?" "I don't know." "How do you not know?!" "I don't know it's not my website call them." "Who's them?" "Walmart.com." Another 15 minutes later I get someone on the phone at Walmart. I place a complaint but she needs to transfer me to someone else to see how I can get the bike. Another 15 minutes later I speak to someone else. She tells me their website is slow and is often wrong and she has no idea how to help me. I tell her it shouldn't be this hard to spend money at Walmart. Can you send a trouble ticket so that someone fixes this? She said there is no such thing but she knows of people who have written letters. She says they usually don't get a response though. We ordered some yellow humming bird feeder flowers on line and were thrilled that we had found some at Walmart. We receive notification that they were ready for pick up. My daughter was thrilled and went down to pick them up for me. When she arrived she asked courtesy where she could pick up on line orders. She was told she had to stand in the return line. She explained she had nothing to return and was told curtly that she had to wait in the return line, which had at least 10 people in front of her. I have no idea why someone could not just retrieve the package instead of making her wait forever in line. It looks like the pharmacy at Walmart # 5886 does a regular planned fraud. The pharmacist was extremely rude to me on purpose: to make me leave without a prescribed medicine. After that, the pharmacy charged my insurance. I just spoke to the insurance representative to stop any payments from this pharmacy. I found out that it's their common practice. I had one of the worst experiences in that store last week and for that, will not be returning. I was stopped at the door so the greeter could mark my receipt. I had a bed-in-a-bag set that obviously couldn't fit in a bag. The set was on the receipt as bedding so she thought I was stealing it because it clearly wasn't marked as a bed-in-a-bag. She called security and everything. I was so embarrassed. Someone finally explained to me that she was mistaken and I was free to leave. Never shopping there again! read more

For a Walmart, this is the best Walmart I've ever been in. It's clean, employees are nice and it never is busy like a typical Walmart. It's ceilings are really high, so it does have a sterile, warehouse feel, but that's not a deal breaker; it's a Walmart. I use to never go to Walmart simply because I wasn't interested in putting up with it all, but I've changed thanks to the nice Encinitas Walmart! Also, they are great with returns too. I'm horrible at keeping my receipts, so if I want to return something they just return it which is great. read more

Newer and smaller of their stores.I have been here multiple times not able to find specific items.Since they are smaller they do not carry huge selections of items,like some of the other Walmarts.They do not have a garden center separately.The store is clean,well organized easy to navigate making shopping pleasurable.Good to shop here for basic items and to avoid the crowd. read more

The reason I shop here is to save money. They are cheaper than Target. They have what I need in stock which Target seems to never get right. They are always out of everything. It is small and and local. I don't have to drive forever to save. So, all the things I use in bathroom are on the shelves and cheap. Other stuff is available but not in a lot of flavors. I know they are hurting Target and Stater across the street in grocery etc. But I still shop grocery in Stater and produce and stuff at Trader and Sprouts. read more

Don't even think of ordering online from this store. Walmart will email you saying your order will be ready in about 4 hous. Then you show up at the store and they are like who are you. Oh, orders take at least 8 hours to fill. (There were 6 people standing around telling me this) and the items were but steps from the customer service area. If you're a super store then your hours should be updated to the correct times. My boyfriend and I drove 30 minutes to come here and they were closed.
