I'm from the south...this translates to....I LOVE WAL-Mart. This particular one is lacking in the electronics dept. !! Don't get me wrong, the staff is friendly, but they need to be educated. If they don't know the answer to my question, then please don't just randomly spout off the first thing that comes to mind. My experience at the Encinitas Walmart was not only the worst I have ever experienced, but it bothered me so much that I had to write a review. It isn't a bad place to go if you don't ever need help from the staff. If you need help with something, I feel for you. I am a very patient and understanding person so it takes a lot for me to get upset. I placed an order for photos online (1-hour) at 11:45am, I went to pick them up at 4pm. No one to be found to help me in the photo center. Had to stand in line at the electronic center while a lady helped someone with their phone. There was no one there to help me. Asked a worker in the shoe area if he could get my photos for me. He said I needed to go to the fitting area to have them call someone over the loud speakers because he doesn't work in that area. As I was leaving he said he could try to find my photos. He looked for about 5 minutes and found them. The photo center was piled with boxes and looked like no one had organized anything. I was surprised he was able to find the photos. I took my photo package to the register up front to check out. The lady checking me out said it isn't scanning, but tried to scan it for a couple of minutes while the line behind me just kept piling up. I said is there an alternate option? She had me count how many photos I had in the package and then tried to type it in. Didn't work. I ended up taking the photo package back to the photo center area and asked one of the workers if someone could help me with my photos, she pointed over to the photo area and said someone was over there and could help. I went over by the photo area and he was helping another customer. I waited to be helped. Then he and two other people started looking for one item. Three people looking for one item, and no one said anything to me or even made eye contact. It was almost crazy how terrible the customer service was. It really was unbelievable that three people could walk right past me and not even say anything. A guy finally came over and said he would be right with me. I told him that they couldn't scan the photo package and he said, "if you order photos from here again, the barcode number is right here, and pointed to it." Like next time I am supposed to tell the employee how to do their job. I am really disappointed and will no longer go to that Walmart for anything. read more

Okay, I think this is the worst Walmart I've ever been to. I went before Christmas so I expected the place to be a bit of a disaster and be out of things, so I gave them a pass. Then I went again yesterday. They have had time to clean up after the Holiday, and you would think the shelves would be stocked, but they are not. Good luck finding anyone to help you in the aisles. I purchased some hard boiled eggs prepacked. Got them home and they were rotten! This store is just not in good shape at all. Time to clean up your act Carlsbad Walmart. read more

wow... terrible terrible service... even for a Walmart..... I have waited a week before writing this I was so mad and wanted to leave a review when I wasn't so upset. I went in and couldn't find what I was looking for last week and asked the first employee I could find for help.... he told me he was too busy to help me and to go ask someone else... they next employee I approached told me to go look myself... Then asked another person in the front of the store who basically said if I didn't see it then it sucks to be me... I complained to the cashier on the way out about no help and not being able to find what I was looking for and she decided just to ignore me.... I left feeling SUPER frustrated and couldn't even believe it would get WORSE... I decided to call to see if customer service might be able to look up the item in their computer system or at least direct me to a store that had it in stock... When I called the first person I spoke to said they couldn't help me check the stock only a manager could, so I asked to speak with one and he informed me that he "couldn't actually find one" what??? How can NO ONE in the store check stock? So he finally transferred me to a "manager" who seemed SUPER irritated that I would ask which store might carry the item since they claimed not too ( even though no one would look for me) she put me on hold but I guess left the speaker on and for 18 min while I sat there while she talked about her weekend plans with her coworkers only to pick up the phone, tell me she had called ALL the stores in the area and no one had it... Total lies... I checked oceanside,vista, and poway the following morning and they ALL had it in stock... regardless I went to target within 2 min an employee helped me look, and when we couldn't find it she located it at another target location and put it on hold for me. Just reconfirmed for me that Enicnitas did NOT need this Walmart... especially one with such TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... I gave you a chance Walmart and you blew it.... no wonder your parking is empty... I will gladly return my business to target read more

Compliments need to be made to the pharmacist that provided a flu shot - minutes before closing. Diana was busy with last-minute chores and I was unable to come back the next day so she squeezed in time to take care of me. She did not rush; she explained her method and administered the vaccine perfectly. The staff in the pharmacy is always kind and patient and willing to assist - there doesn't seem to be any turnover. The entire store is always clean; people friendly and offering to assist find something. Yes; the store is much smaller than many others but that's the City of Carlsbad that limited the size when it was in the planning stage. People groaning about having to bring their own bags makes me laugh... Maybe they should move to a country that has no stores to shop in! read more

I have work here, I have been harass by associate and nothing was done. Management are terrible, they do not answer phones when customers call to complain, two days ago a customer walk out with a 40' TV and $500.00 worth of items and their LP just watch on camera while it happen. Theirs favorites and Of course I am not. Mr. Walmart I call him should firer these people for shrinkage, especially in children boys women infants, the management here calls everybody mom ma that not professionalism that is why people have name tags,she is very unfair she does not take the time to listen to her associate, she forgotten that there a open door policy,but not here. and as for advancement I had ask and got ignored. this is the worth place I have every work at. I have a disability, and was ignored about it. When I started complaining about the harassment. I get let go and was told lies about why I am let go. the story was change several times why I am getting let go. read more

I really thought this store would be a teeny tiny bit more appropriate for the location design-wise, but it looks exactly the same as any other Wal Mart you go into .. maybe that's the point, but I'd rather go to the fancy Target across the street with a way better selection and easier layout. I think this Wal Mart is doomed to fail - I hope it does so I stop making the mistake of going there and regretting it, never finding what I want, being depressed as soon as I walk in the door, sure prices are great, but is it worth it?? Customer service is so Bad in the electronics department. This happened about 8 months ago when I was looking for a particular item. A couple sales associates were working the electronics department and I just had a quick question. One was trying to help a customer and the other was on the phone. I must have waited there at least 10 minutes for one of them to finish up with their customers and help me next.... But that never happened and my one question I had never got an opportunity to get asked. What really annoyed and infuriated me the most was that while I was waiting Patiently nearby not one person ever made any eye contact with me. Oh wait... I take that back. There was an outside vendor sitting at a table in the electronics department. He was selling something like Direct TV. He was the only one that actually made eye contact with me but what good is that when he didn't even work for Walmart. And while I was asking him what was up with the lack of customer service the guy that was helping the customer on the phone, hung up the phone and immediately walked out of the department. I looked at the guy selling the Direct TV and he just shrugged. I finally gave up on them and headed over to Target where they helped me find exactly what I was looking for and they did all of it with a cheerful attitude and a genuine smile. Target has never failed me yet and I will hopefully never have to step foot in that Walmart Sucker Center ever again. It's like that store has a black cloud over it constantly. Dark, dingy, Bad and sad energy permeates from that awful store. read more

While this Walmart is a smaller one (more like a super drugstore sized walmart) it has lots of walmart priced merchandise and things you will not find around encinitas anywhere else. This is the best place to find lots of common things cheap; certainly cheaper than CVS (which eliminated Longs) and other specialty stores. So hurray for another alternative without having to drive 10 miles up to the 78/I-5 shopping vortex. BEWARE however if you want the Vision Center google says they have you are out of luck. I had a great experience at Walmart today! I went in to pick up a prescription at their pharmacy and Taylor was ahhhmazing! I had to pay " out of pocket" for my prescription. She was so great and really helped me get the possible price for my prescription. Huey was also kind and courteous over the phone. Yay! Walmart. You are lucky to have such am attentive and courteous staff. read more

Most amazing thing happened. As I got to my car I accidentally dropped my juice and it smashed and spilled all over. The nicest employee saw me and immediately offered to get me another. And he did! The customer service department are nincompoops. They can't find your order and don't know where to look after it has been delivered.

If I am going to Wal Mart this is the one I want to be at. It is large, clean, and new. It is a breath of fresh air!

Teeny tiny Walmart. Grocery selection is okay, but not to the level of others. Small toiletries & electronics departments, it's actually pretty appalling. I was grossed out tonight. I popped over to Wally World for some Nerf darts and a few tools. It was 8:30. There were dozens of people sleeping in their cars! One of the fine ladies was bumping some uncensored Ludacris. Now I'm not a jerk. In fact I really didn't care, even with my 6 yr old son there. She was fumbling to turn off the music then tried to politely ask if there was enough room for me to get into my car. To my surprise she had no pants on. Great WalMart. Way to keep it upscale. the management at this walmart seriously sucks. about 2 weeks ago my husband noticed they had a NES console in stock & we decided to head over around 8:30pm. we get there & the employee says they do t have any. we ask to speak to a manager because according to a barcode we printed (&a the employee scanned) there were 2 in stock. he calls the assistant manager (mariah) & she tells him no. then we see a guy stocking the shelves & ask him to check. he was nice enough to check & comes back & said he had it but was told by another assistant manager (jackie) to leave it in 'the cage'. he comes out & tells us what happened so now we're upset & ask to speak to the manager. out comes mariah & she swears up & down they don't have it. when we tell her one of the employees actually had it in their hand, she said no. we leave empty handed come back the next morning as soon as they open & a lady named maria was nice enough to check (& surprise surprise) came back with it. i called & asked to speak to store manager mary about the dishonesty of her assistant managers & upon leaving a message with monica (another member of the management team) i never received a phone call from mary. i went into the store yesterday morning to talk to her personally & a man named freddy said she was in a meeting & would give her the message. we'll surprise surprise still no call from her. management team if you're reading this: you guys suck at customer service & are dishonest! read more

Ordered some items online and went to stand in a LONG line at customer service to pick my items up. After sitting in line for over 10 minutes where one of the employee's was assisting another Walmart employee with a return and acting like they were both on a break, I became very disgruntled. As I approached this employee to show her my receipt for the items I needed to pick up, she smiled and said that there was another line "over there" to go stand in and there are people already waiting. What?!! There were no signs instructing people to stand in one line versus another for returns or order pick ups! I thought those people were waiting for someone to bring their items out. I refused to sit in another line and this employee has clearly NO customer service skills as she did not even apologize for their mess of a line that they created. This store is unreliable, disorganized, and lacks in customer service..(at the "customer service" desk). Not to mention I have never been to a Walmart or any large chain retailer for that matter that does not provide cart corrals in the parking lot.. Even more of a reason to not visit this store unless your willing to risk your car getting dinged!! read more

First time going here. Very clean store and well stocked. Pretty much what you would expect for a store that just opened. Only issue is not a single person asked if I needed help. Hell, not one even said good morning. I made it a point to say good morning to the guy working in Pharmacy this morning and he just gave me a look like I was in his way and grunted. We waited at a register that had a light on and no one came over to ring us up. After walking away we noticed a young girl that looked like she was facing items in cosmetics and her badge said cashier. We watched and she was just reading the back of items like she was shopping. Customer service goes a long way and I felt like I was just in these peoples way and was more of an annoyance then anything while I shopped there. Guess the whole "10ft" rule they say they go by is not in place at this location. Will give my business to a place that actually seems to care that I shop there. read more
