Well at Walmart today, we were in line waited 15 min to make it to the check out, as we had our stuff on the covarbelt getting ready to check out the person in front of us was trying to pay with a check that froze the machine. they had to call the shift leader or whatever he was Miguel over to help him because Mariel and Daisy . couldn't get it to work, he couldn't get it to work as well so he said with a smirk sorry I have to close this register. instead of telling us we will be helped in another line he told us we had to go back in line..... the lines were huge waited another 15 minutes to check out. Gah. It a Walmart. Just being here makes me feel like I should go shower. Walmart may have good prices and depending on where you are at, a decent selection. Personally I strive to avoid Walmart but found myself at this one recently and decided to make the best of it. On the plus side, we were able to locate just about everything that we wanted, from groceries, to camping items and everything in between. If i could leave less than 1 star i would. Absolutely the worst ran store I've ever been to. And i dont live far so believe me when i say my last 6-7 trips to this place have been so awful i decided to finally leave a review. I believe her name was Donna at the money center, was horribly rude. You come in at 6pm and there is 2-3 registers open with people lined up through the store in each of them. Then you come in at noon and every single register is open with 1 person in some of them. Idk who manages this location but maybe they should consider a new profession. You would think all those fancy ass flashing cameras all over the parking lot may actually be helpful in this type of situation, BUT Walmart's Loss Prevention policy doesn't offer any help to the consumer at all!! It has been a few months since the last time I visited this location because of the long lines, messiness, and not being able to get assistance when needed. But today I needed an item at 6am and it was the only place opened that early that's close to my house. Well, let me start by stating that nothing has changed. As I walked in they have several carts full of items. I thought that maybe those were clearance items since they were LITERALLY placed in the walk-in area of the store but they were not. Then I just focus on what I needed and noticed several employees stocking and putting away items. Once I got my items I got in line. I was the 3rd person but the checker has to leave to check on the price of an item for a customer. After what felt like forever, she returned with the item and keyed in the number for it. Why didn't she call someone to get the price for her while she helped others? Why didn't anyone open a 3rd check out when both of the lines had about 7 customers each, who looked frustrated and obviously upset?!?! The worst part is that three type of situations had happened to me before in at this Walmart location. Very frustrating at 6am! read more

This is the best Walmart, I think in Bakersfield! Tonight my son and I rescued a 3 week old kitten on 24th st in a center divider across from Carl's Jr. I live down the street from this Walmart location and decided to buy a few things for it ,before finding it a new home. We started taking to Samantha ( I believe that's her name) and she gave us some very good advice on what to get her. As time went by her heart must have melted for the little animal and decided to take her home (after hours of course). What a WONDERFUL EMPLOYEE they have for having such a big heart. My hubby and i where standing in line and an older man was checking out in front of us and had left his grape juice by our stuff so I pushed it up to the cashier ( it was like in a half of a foot reach from the cashier ) and she tells the old man can you please hand it to me I cant reach it that far ) me and my hubby laugh and make a comment to eachother like are u serious? , the cashier then says excuse me to me and my hubby all rude and begins to argue with us !!!! Wal mart has always had a laughable gross quality to it as far as I could remember. However when they started to upgrade their stores they made major improvements to their shopping experience. Now, the stores look nicer and all but...let's just say I don't think you have to worry about the web site "peopleofwalmart.com" going down any time soon. Now this isn't the stores fault, but it's how they choose to deal with this clientele. This store is on the east side so yeah... you do get a lot of the hood rats at this location. People with 10 kids with no control over them, knocking stuff over and spilling their Mc Donald's all over the floor. Oh yeah there's a mc Donald's here....Do you see a lot of employee trying to clean these messes....not really. Mostly you see their employees bring huge mountainous flats from the stock room adding to the clutter and dropping them in the middle of the aisle. it really is kind of a zoo. But why do I shop here? ah yes it's cheaper than anywhere else. I got to say I'm a fan of the grocery selection. I literally can spend less here shopping for my weekly groceries than when I worked for target WITH a discount. I guess the crazy atmosphere is the price you pay for cheaper stuff. But overall...I'd have to say this is one of the better wal marts. The rosedale store is full of oildaleans and rose daleans...., the panama store has it's own hood rats (I know I said this store had hood rats too but I'd rather have my east side hood rats than anyone else's thank you!) and the gosford store is full of uppity penny pinchers so east side wal mart I choose you and all of your many many many many many many many flaws... read more

Eek, this place has some pretty bad reviews.. Well, I don't come here a lot but when I do come here I try to come during a time in my life that I have some patience. I know that Walmart has long lines and not many registers open most of the time. So I do not come here irritated. I've ordered a few cakes from the bakery. Some a month in advanced and some a day in advanced. The bakery always has my order correct and made and ready by the time I said I would pick it up. I prefer Target over Walmart. I hate this walmart. We recently moved from the SW to the NE so this one is closer to us now. The gosford location is awsome! I rather spend a few more bucks at target up the street than to return here unless I really really have to. There is always somebody outside trying to sell you something or "fix" something on your car and follow you to your car even when you have your kids with you. Makes me feel uneasy because you never know what they really want. On top of that customer service SUCKS! If I could give zero stars I would. Service at this Walmart has always been bad, but lately it has sunk to new lows. In fact, this Walmart may well be the straw that broke the camel's back and caused me to swear off the chain for life. I already got rid of my Sam's Club card, and this store has gone off the deep end even more so than the related Sam's Club. Onward to our utterly frustrating and nonproductive shopping trip: I don't generally lose my temper, but tonight our local Walmart made me put my foot down. They've cordoned off the toiletries area with one entrance and exit and you must pay for your purchase there. Fine, we save that for last and go around the store getting our ten or so other items. After waiting in line to check out at the toiletries area they tell us we can only pay for that one item there and will have to wait in the 75 or more person long line to pay for everything else. In typical Walmart fashion they have about three registers open so every line is ridiculous. I lost my temper and told them either we paid for everything there or we walk and they can put everything from all over the store away. They insisted on two checkouts so I told them they had just lost my business and given it to Target instead. Have fun putting things back in stock. I can deal with the product sequestration since I'm sure it's due to theft, but I am NOT going to stand in crazy lines multiple times in one trip. They've lost not only our personal purchases, but also all the frequent purchases of items we use in our business. Way to go on the customer alienation front Walmart! read more

Today while shopping I went into the dressing room were the customer service representative Lavita laughed and made jokes that I was drunk. I was completely humiliated and embarrassed. This is a awesome place to shop but the lines at the register are insane. were are all the cashiers. I see more employees on the sales floor then cashiers. What's going on they should be cross train for when it gets busy. And on top of that some of the Ailles are to narrow for shoping carts. Literally worst place EVER! My husband and I decide to make a quick trip here before a trip out of town for last minute items, big mistake! We decided to get a bottle of vodka but Walmart has there alcohol locked away which is no big deal. So we press the button for assistance but no one came... after pressing the button multiple times I decided to go up to an employee and asked for assistance. They said they would send someone but that someone NEVER came. After waiting 30 minutes (not exaggerating) we got frustrated and decided to just check out what we already have & tell the cashier if she could just get the bottle for us. So we do that, the cashier then asks someone to get our bottle for us while we wait on the side to buy it. 10 minutes later our bottle is FINALLY brought to us to purchase. This what was suppose to be a fast in and out trip we wanted to make at Walmart turned into an hour long one... NEVER shopping here again. I'm good luv, enjoy. read more

This Walmart is disorganized and chaotic. I was looking for plastic set of drawers and it was scattered in three different aisles. The parking lot is filled with peddlers of all sorts: free cell phones, demo tapes and pan handlers. Keep in mind this is at 8 pm on a Saturday making any night runs to this location impossible because of the safety aspect. read more
