New to Bastop,TX,but Walmart is Walmart,right? Unfortunetly not.We assumed return policy was the same at every Walmart. We went to the one off 71 to return/exchange an item bought just the day before.Return policy is without a receipt which we couldnt find,they will let us do an exchange.Associate lady in customer service refused to let us do that.Mind you we are standing right next to the big Walmart blue billboard stating their return policy. She advised us that during this covid pandemic Walmart WILL NOT accept anything back without a receipt! My husband got infuriated&stormed out of the store after a few words to the associate.At least he had the mind to call management from our vehicle&was ready to let them have also... Long story made short is manager said that was incorrect. During this pandemic the only thing unexchangeable without a receipt is clothing and food items. We promtly returned&got our exchange.No telling how many ppl this employee has turned away! read more

Walmart Bastrop, Texas is in bad need of a makeover. It is disgusting! Bathrooms are horrible, and have a terrible odor. The whole store needs to be renovated and updated. I will go to Walmart in Austin before I go back to Walmart Bastrop. The manager should be ashamed of the condition and the Walmart Management should be embarrassed of their store. No one is available to help you. This location has turned into self service only and in my opinion it's gone downhill. I've never seen their bathrooms really clean and they always smell. I try not to come here often and when I do I limit what I get. I tried to give them a second chance and bought deli meat. The meat was slimy and none of their fruit and vegetables looked good. We went to use the photo kiosk. It was quick and pretty simple. Automatically printed our wallet photos, but we had to wait for the larger photo. When we went to check on the large photo, the attendant, Bear, was extremely rude, saying it would take an hour when we paid for the automatic photos. The other man at the electronics desk was very kind, asking how many pictures and giving us an estimate of 5 to 10 minutes. However then Bear was very rude, saying "Yeah, it may take 5 to 10 minutes to print, but that doesn't mean I'll be back there in 5 to 10 minutes", being very passive aggressive. We went around to look at frames and came back at about the 10 minute mark and when we got to the photo desk, we watched Bear and another co-worker goofing off. They were just standing there messing around while we just stood there waiting to be helped. After around 5 minutes, the kind man came back from helping another customer and told Bear to get us our photos. If not for the kind man, this would be a 1 star review, however, he did help us, was extremely hospitable, and made sure we were being taken care of. This is the second time that I've ordered items from Walmart for home delivery. I made sure that all the items were "in stock" before ordering. Walmart let me set up a delivery date and time, and charged my credit card. On the day of my delivery I received an email stating that the order was delayed, and then an hour later I received a second email stating that none of my items were in stock, and my order had been canceled. Twice now, so no more home delivery orders from Walmart. read more

I bought the Great Value bacon and it looked okay through the package( I flipped through at least 10 bacon packages to find one that looked okay. They're LIARS!! Zero Dr thunder is on roll back for a dollar. I specifically put back the regular diet Dr thunder because the tag said it was 1.48 and the zero was 1.00. So when it rung up wrong the manager went back and removed the roll back tag and took a pic of the Old tag and showed it to me that I was wrong. I called her out and that she was a liar. She called Alex the security guard to the front. I left my husband up front to go back and figure out wtf she had done. When I got to the aisle the roll back sign was right there 1.00 2ltr zero Dr thunder. So I snagged the tag up and skipped to the front to prove i was right. The manager lady that lied was no where to be found. I made sure that I rubbed it in their faces they were pos's for lying to their customer over 96 cents. I walked out of that store like Rocky Balboa, it felt good proving them wrong. And yes I got my zero dr thunders for 1.00 each like the tag said. read more

Walmart keeps "updating" their store but the updates set me back. The self checks don't always accept cash. When you do go to a register that is supposed to accept cash, it may or may not accept $50 or $100 bills and often does not give correct change back. More than once I have had to go wait in line at the service desk with a receipt that tells them that their machine shirt changed me. It's really not very convenient! The store is all rearranged again and things are hard to find. There aren't very many shopping options in Bastrop so I basically just suck it up and go even when that store gives me anxiety. I would not recommend it to anyone though. read more

Don't leave your film with the photo department. I had two rolls of film developed. The pictures I received was someone else's photos. When I tried to find mine, I was told they only keep the digital photos received from Kodak for five days. I was on vacation when I received the notice my photos were in. Photo supervisor offered a refund of my purchase but it's a two hour round trip for me to Bastrop and my photos are gone forever. Unacceptable!!!! read more

I shop at the Bastrop, TX store frequently, at least I used to. The recent experience I had was the worst. The cashier failed to put three items in my basket. I returned to the store to retrieve the items I had purchased. That is where the very poor customer service kicked in. The head cashier, Maro, told me to go stand in the very long return line and see if the items where there. No they were not. The AP Manager had to be contacted to review the video to confirm, or whatever the reason was, before my $10 worth of items would be giving to me. After waiting and waiting one of the employees must of got the okay, she put my stuff in a bag and said she was sorry for the inconvenience. So Bastrop Walmart, if you are reading this, your store policy SUCKS. I will not be shopping there anymore. Maybe you need to take some lesson from your neighbor across the street, HEB. I am a frequent shopper here and give it 5 stars because they ALWAYS seem to do the right thing. I bought a mower once and kind of beat it up, left it on its side, etc., and they GAVE me a battery when I was troubleshooting. Yes, I had the extra warranty, but that definitely wasn't covered! Same mower, ran over mesquite and got a flat. Fixed for free. Last week I left a little less than $60 in the change tray. There had been a register error with the receipt mechanism and one thing led to another and the next day I realized my mistake. After a little follow up, they refunded $60 without %100 proof. How is it that your in store announcements you ask ppl to stay safe wash hands and follow CDC guidelines yet carts are not being sanitized, there are no hand washing or hand sanitizing stations available and your clerks have no masks on including your older employed population. Yesterday I got on the Walmart website and ordered a small item. When I hit the order button, it sent the amount charged to my visa but never sent me any email with the order number on it. So the soft ware evidently sent my order to space but charged me. The employees at Walmart said they could not help me without an order number which was their software that was not working correctly. I was very upset with the help I received. No order number meant no service and no one could help me. We have no control over their software program and repairs. read more

Walmart has a self- checkout station at either end of the registers, which is fine for a small load of items, or customers young enough to feel comfortable using machines. But with a cart full, it just makes more sense to be checked out by an employee. The times I've visited this store recently, I've either taken my items through self checkout or... left without purchasing. There have never been more than 1 or 2 registers manned, no matter how long the line gets. The few employees seen, look overworked. read more

The store is so crowded. Many of the aisles are cramped with pallets of merchandise always in the way. The other day while I was there I was trying to speak to someone and she literally held her finger up at me and muttered, "hold on" in a very aggravated tone then walked away. The greeters as you enter and exit are always friendly though. As for the store, it's usually clean except for the sticky carts and a gross parking lot and the pallets of stock everywhere. read more

Got the standard oil change today at this Walmart for the first time. Cashier was friendly and efficient but the oil change itself was terrible. Grease on my paint job, inside door, steering wheel and upholstery. Popped the hood--oil spilled on the battery, radiator and frame. Oil quart cap left on the air cleaner. Grease everywhere. If I could give it no stars I would. I wanted to give the customized cake part on the Walmart website and I will never do it again. So I ordered a customized cake and they canceled it the day that I am supposed to pick it up. Today is my sons birthday and he doesn't get the cake he wants. I tried to call so many times and nobody answers the phone. I even tried to click any button for any department so they can transfer me but also no answer. I'm only giving this Walmart a three because its clean and well stocked. I never have a problem going in and purchasing what I need. I never really buy groceries here but, when I need to pick up something they have it. The con- The customer service here is horrible. The employees are never engaging. They rarely say hi, and always look depressed, and unhappy to be at work. I always try to engage with them while I checkout st the register and I barely get anything out of them. When leaving the store, the greeter takes FOREVER!!! to look over your receipt. I've been to many Walmarts and never had to deal with this. Walmart advertised on the news that masks are required, even if a customer claims to have a medical reason for not wearing one. Signs are at the entrances saying masks are required, yet in a 30 minute visit just now, I passed 5 adults with no mask at all. When I asked employees about it, 2 told me that they can't make anyone wear a mask. How is that possible with cases on the rise in the Austin area and other businesses requiring it? Let me get started. Came here on a Wednesday night so it was kinda slow, while I was putting my stuff and toddler in my car I dropped my diaper bag and apparently my phone (note 3) fell out and I didn't see it when I picked everything up. Get home and notice i can't find it. Grab my husband's phone and track my phone.........it showed the exact parking spot I was in. Drive up to Walmart cause I know customer service would jack it if they knew about it and spoke to a department manager about it and she said "well nobody's turned in a phone tonight but let's check customer service" we walk over there and she pulls out a old iPhone 4 and says this is the only phone there and walks outside with me to look again. While walking she says "I'll call you if I find anything cause you know them thieven customer service employees can't be trusted" and goes back inside. Ok whatever my husband is saying let's just file a claim it has insurance and I'm stuck on no its here somewhere (still tracking it) I Start to question the cart pushers. First one I ask described my phone down to the picture of my daughter. At this point I know 100% it's here. Walk back inside and now the lady's story changed since I had proof it was here. She said the guy I talked to "wasn't all there" and the iPhone 4 was the phone he gave her.......Ummm no sorry he is describing my phone perfect and even took me to the exact spot I was parked in previously and said that's where he found it but yet that's not the phone he gave her. I start asking for a higher manager on site or a general manager and within 5 minutes my phone was in my hands. Apparently someone else thought it was a AT&T display phone and they took it to the back office...(what looked to me a break room) Long story short don't take Just 1 persons word when you have money on the line ask around and ask for a higher manager. I have come to hate Walmart in general. The Bastrop store has great employees. My rub is you can't check out. I've waited excessive lengths of time to just pay for my stuff. I have actually seen managers tell cashiers to take a break and close when there are lines of 10 plus people in line waiting to check out. It's amazing that they will close registers as things get busy while HEB across the street opens registers to help eliminate the wait time. I avoid Walmart at all costs whenever possible. Not a good place if you are in a rush of any kind. read more

Pros: Right off 71, staff is always cheery and willing to help. Cons: It isn't always easy to find staff when you need them, and they seem very busy at times (but as mentioned above, they do all they can to help once you find them). The lay-out is different than what I'm used to and I have troubles finding what I need sometimes, but it's something I'm getting used to. I've seen a few squabbles in the parking lot, so I try to park close to the door. That's not really Walmart's fault - more so the fault of all the trashy people that go there. read more

Absolute joke I stood at the hunting/fishing counter for 20 minutes with 5 employees around me that would not make eye contact with me. I finally went up asked if they could at least get someone to help me, they proceeded to sit and talk about their manager and I stood another 20 minutes. I left my cart sitting there and told the lady at the front entrance/exit how appalled I was at customer service here and these employees dont deserve jobs when people who actually do theirs are are looking for 1. Twice in the last month I have tried to get prescriptions filled. The most recent was a prescription called in last Thursday by my mother's Dr for anti-nausea. Today (Sunday) they still don't have a supply in to fill this prescription. I'm told it may be available Tuesday???? The first time was a prescription for Prevacid that I had to wait 10 days for them to get some in. This is beyond rediculous! Don't use this pharmacy unless you can wait several fays for the meds.. read more
