Never had problem finding an item at this store. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. This is one of my fav Walmart to go , Everything is organized. Truly horrible. None of the payments have tap options, they theoretically allow you to pay virtually via the Walmart app but it refused to accept my payment information. Customer service had no idea how to fix it and no interest in fixing it; they just said "it's always worked before". I spent 45 minutes trying to get someone to resolve my issue and they just shrugged and said "it should work". Of course it *should* work; the problem is that it *didn't* work! They also didn't accept cash. I ended up unable to pay for anything I'd bought despite having digital credit cards and cash, and they had no interest in resolving the problem. I asked if there was someone they could speak to who could provide a solution and they said there was no one else. Tried to be patient because this isn't their fault, but if the app is not functioning the way it should then there should be someone it can be reported to, like an IT person or development team. They said they had no idea if Walmart even had such a team or department, and that also the app was fine, it was probably that both payment methods I tried (from different companies) were having problems at the same time. I told them that this prevented me from shopping at Walmart ever because they didn't have a functional payment method I could use and they just shrugged again. This was the absolute last straw. This location is so trashy. While I was there, the alarms went off. Apparently a couple ran out the emergency door shoplifting, supposively. I get to the check out, and the lady there (who barely speaks English) ensures I'm shoplifting. She reviews my receipts. She claims there are some items that aren't on there and I tell her I scanned one item, numerous times. She starts ringing up ALL my items and I advise her she might be overcharging me and she swears she is not. Finally, she does what she needs to do and I continue with my card. Then, I ask her for my original receipt. THIS lady tells me to look in my purse because it's in there. EXCUSE ME??? Are you excusing me of something?!?!?! This lady barely spoke English, she works at WALMART and she's insinuating I'm lying. I'm not sure why these associates think they are big and bad, and every single time I have an issue with THIS LOCATION. Note to self, go to another one that is newer, cleaner and not filled with mice roaming your aisles. Stay away from Chantilly. The people there are filled of trash! read more

I was missing one item from my order, and I called immediately. And they told me that I would have to pay for shipping to get my one.Item back. I am so unhappy with walmart plus right now that I am inclined to cancel my membership and never use them again. For 1 roll of wrapping paper, which is only ninety nine cents, they expect me to pay shipping of $10!!Because it is under thirty five dollars. It was their mistake, not mine, and they should make this right for me. Very disappointed. I needed it to wrap my granddaughter's birthday present, and we have to leave early in the morning and don't have time to go somewhere else to get wrapping paper. DONE!! read more

This may sound weird, but the layout of this Walmart Super-center made "shopping sense". The placement of aisles and departments around the store had what I considered a natural flow AND their in-stocks were AMAZING! Having in-stocks in a retailer like Walmart is hard in general, yet couple that with during a pandemic and with the supply chain issues and I was floored at the amount of product that readily available. There were also lots of cashiers available and checking out was a breeze. This was truly a pleasant Walmart trip and as many know, most reviews of Walmart don't tell this tale. Pros -It's convenient, since it's in my neck of the woods. -They have self check out -It's open 24/7 -Horizon Organic Milk is cheaper here compared to some of the other grocery stores. This location has a well-stocked inventory but seriously lacks staff and employees to run the store efficiently. Regardless of peak times, there are only ever two-three registers open. They do have a self-checkout, but people seem to have issues using these stations frequently, and at least 2 of the stations are out-of-order 90% of the time. The staff are friendly and display good customer service, but it's clear they are overworked and short staffed. There is a subway inside this location, as well as restrooms that are newly remodeled, but almost always out of toilet paper and dirty. This location also sells propane and has a small outdoor garden section to the far left of the building. I come to this location out of necessity, not desire. If you need to pop in for a few things, it'll get the job done, but just prepare for a 10-20 minute checkout time depending on the day/time you are there. read more

Am always amazed at the idiosyncratic store merch in this area of northern Virginia. This Walmart is no exception. Found something automotive that no one else in the area had. Absolutely huge store, amazing selection. If you can't find something Walmart carries, suggest looking here. As usual for this district, "adult beverages" exceptionally well represented. Not much milk selection or dedicated space ..... No skim milk at all, literally none. Some paper shortages were evident. Interesting. Nice store. Would return. read more

So I drove twenty minutes to this store to return a damaged trash can I ordered at Walmart.com. I was greeted with an employee telling me that customer service/ returns was closed. I checked my watch and said "But it's only 9:40..." and she replied "sorry, we're closed." I understand that even a 24 hour store closes down certain departments to increase productivity, but 9:40pm is NOT 10pm. I'm very dissatisfied with my service on this visit. I give this store 3 stars only because my last experience here was so much better. I came during the day so I don't know if that was a factor. The store was clean and people were kinder and seemed interested in helping. Maybe the night shift is a different breed but I saved this to my Google favorites based solely on my last experience. I recommend going during the day as the service seems to be loads better. Also you avoid any huge product pallets hindering your ability to navigate the aisles. read more

We usually shop this location and have few problems. I'm writing this review because of their return policies. Yesterday I bought 2 humidifiers and had to return 1 of them. Why you ask? Because it was USED...!! This particular one had been used for an extended period of time because it had PINK MOLD growing inside of it. I showed this to the girl that does the product returns (they don't do exchanges at this time) and she showed little to no concern. If you are the person who returned this item for an exchange then you are DISGUSTING!! What a foul thing to do just to try and save yourself $40 and change.... You should be ashamed of yourself.... Two checkers open on a Sunday afternoon. Each with 6 carts deep. The self checkout? Backed up to customer service. Left the cart with 5 items in it, not going to spend 20+ minutes in line for 5 items. Will shop elsewhere and never come back here. read more

This is not my normal Walmart, and I'm glad that it isn't! I was initially really excited to be able to go to a Walmart Supercenter, but what a cluster! We pulled up on a Sunday afternoon to a completely logjammed parking lot. We spent 10 minutes circling the lot waiting for someone to pull out, and it wasn't even a great parking spot. To match the parking lot, the checkout lines were out of control. There were at least (at least!) 4 people in every line - even in the "Limit 10 Items" and self checkout lines. These huge lines made it difficult to maneuver past all the carts to get from one end of the store. The only redeeming attribute of this Walmart was that I found everything I needed here. Even my 6-pack of ping pong balls. Bottom line: Fair Lakes' Walmart may be smaller but you'll be glad you went there instead. read more

I loved this place. They had great deals, low prices and amazing offers. The only thing I would change about this place is the bags. The bags cost 5 cents each. If only the bags were free and I didn't have to bring my own or pay for the full price. Overall this is a pretty good place besides the bags. read more

I don't normally review grocery stores, but this specific Walmart caught my eye simply because the back section that includes electronics, fitness gear, etc. is directly ahead from the main entrance so it's easy for me to just walk straight ahead and arrive at the technology section. I personally like purchasing electronic accessories so this is a bonus for me. read more

This Walmart is one of the least Walmarty Walmarts around. By that I mean that it's pretty clean and neat (for a Walmart), the staff is pretty not-upset looking (for a Walmart), and the lines are usually short (for a Walmart). Most of all, the (men's) restroom has to be the cleanest, least Walmartiest restroom I've ever been in (for a Walmart)! Dammit man, I'm giving it three out of five stars even though it's a Walmart! This is a poorly designed Walmart with limited space for one cart through some of the sections. The layout is different from the other ones nearby, which just takes getting used to. The location is very busy to get in and out since it's right by the Dulles Expo center and off a busy road. The only reason why I choose to go to this location is when I need to kill some time before picking someone up from the airport since IAD is about 10 mins away. read more

I want to like Walmart Chantilly but I just cannot. It is the store that I only go to when I must. Empty shelves. It seems like everytime I go there stuff is never in stock, and many times full rows of items empty. It is horrible. The store use to be great but it has gone downhill. Too many employee turnover and people seem unhappy and unfriendly. It is sad to see. One time I went in for roteserrie chicken, none. I saw a woman putting some in the plastic containers it comes in through the window in the back. I waved at her and told her I was waiting for it. She said it will be out soon. I waited for 30 minutes and went to the post office across the street and then came back, waited again. I really needed it for a recipe. She had a bunch on a counter in the back but wouldnt bring them out. Its okay but its a store I avoid unless I need to be there.I dont even know why I am not giving it 1 star except for the fact that I go there occasionally. read more

This location is about the same as the others I go to. It was my first time at this location yesterday. I was hungry when I arrived and made a quick beeline for the Subway at the front of the store. The employees were quick, got me my sandwich made and paid and out of the door (or to a table). My sandwich was prepared well and as expected very tasty. Its nice that this Walmart has a restaurant located in the front of the store to make it easy for people to grab a bite before or after shopping. The reason for only 3 of 5 stars is because of the lack of employees walking around. I had a few questions, like where some things were that I knew the store carried, but not having been in this location before, I had no idea where to find them. Some things never got purchased, I'll go to a Walmart where I know the layout and can easily find them. That's their loss, oh well! For the most part, I found what I needed, though it definitely took a longer amount of time than I anticipated, especially since I visited over my lunch break. Still prices here on the items I got are much less expensive than grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.... I definitely come to Walmart to stock up on certain items. You'll do well shopping here when it comes to price, but certain things like bikes and some furniture, just are not very good quality and do not last very long. If you are specific about what you are buying, then you can find great deals like I did. read more

True, this is a Supercenter, but it just seems small to me. I just arrived back in the area and I was excited to see that Chantilly now had a Walmart. But if you love Walmart, like I do, then you won't be overly impressed with this location. It covers the basics, but I need a few more produce aisles and for some reason, the aisles in general seem more crowded/smaller than ones in the South. The staff was very helpful and I truly appreciated that. I am thankful for them to be open 24 hours and I am sure this small fact will keep them relevant and above Target. read more

I don't care if there is a pandemic. You can't get anyone on the phone to check the status of an online order. Even the Walmart customer support is completely useless and powerless to cancel the order. Meanwhile they hold your money, can't refund you your money, can't tell you when your order will arrive, don't communicate through the app, or send status updates via email, phone, text, or carrier pigeon. Another update. This time its only for their customer service. Terrible. Employees could not return my online order so they had to offer store credit even though I had the barcode for return. Returned an item because it was damaged. Because the employees scanned my return incorrectly in the system, Walmart.com would not replace the item or work with me at all. On top of that you usually have to wait for a long time... Terrible and it's not getting any better. Come on Walmart. read more

This has to be the worst Walmart in the country when it comes to customer service. I came in after work at 11:45 pm, grabbed what I needed and proceeded to the front to check out and get home- not a single register was open or was there an associate at any of them. The banana rack had been pulled in front to block the self checkout session with all self check outs unavailable. I asked someone doing stock if anyone was available to help me check out and was told "their probably on break." So I left my basket full of groceries and left. Don't know how they make money if there's no one to take mine. If you don't want to be open 24 hours then just close and stop advertising. This is the third time I have been unable to get help from anyone in that store. read more

I am generally not a Walmart fan in general there are many reasons for this. This location seems worse than other Walmarts I think because they tried to jam a super center into a space of a regular walmart not to mention I couldn't find two of the three items I came in for. Took a stroll tonight through the newest Wally World invasion tonight. Its new - so the cleanliness is to be expected, hopefully it will stay that way. Still was nice to browse around and pick up items without that seemingly pervasive layer of Walmart gray matter covering things. Disappointingly, this location is one of the smaller style supercenters. I was hoping, since some urban planner apparently thought traffic in and out of the Dulles Expo Center parking lot wasn't hideous enough so why not plop down a Walmart next door, that it would at least be one of the real supercenters but alas not. But at least its significantly easier to get to from my office than the one at Fair Lakes. The grocery/market side isn't too bad and I certainly appreciate the opportunity to save a buck or two on items I commonly pick up at Giant. The produce department is modest but at least full of fresh items that don't require picking over to find an acceptable one. Serious downside is the lack of an in store deli and bakery and the meat section is pretty tiny. But overall I could see myself escaping the office to pick up an affordable lunch or some miscellaneous items for dinner. The rest of the departments are irritatingly small - particularly the pet section that is tiny to start with and then 50% dog / 50% everything else cat/rodent/bird/fish. But in true Walmart fashion, I can't get my Purina cat food but I can get a bag of ferret pellets. Health & Beauty is another section that is far too small - smaller than at most decent sized grocery stores even. As with too many of Walmart's efforts in this area lately - this location is just utilitarianly acceptable. If you just need X item, but don't really care about comparing several options or finding something really specific. The staff was a bit exasperating however - both out on the floor and at the checkout. read more

Clean and modern, this is the only Supercenter that I'm aware of in the immediate area. The grocery section is full of fresh fruits and vegetables. There are also plenty of non-perishable goods, from soda, to chips and Pop-Tarts. There's a Subway inside, which is nice if you like Subway (I don't). Towards the back of the store, you'll find all kinds of outdoor supplies/gear for fishing and hunting. Overall, it's a very spacious, cavernous store since it took over one of the Dulles Expo Center buildings. It's also very clean, organized and well-stocked. I don't think I saw an area where you can get your oil changed though. read more

We came here to pick up a gift and we tried to communicate with a certain employee who can't speak English, I was shocked this guys can't even speak English and are able to maintain a job, how ridiculous is this. The majority of staff was Indian I was shocked also that not one single Latino works here or blacks because where my friends firm is the surrounding area is predominately Latinos and blacks. They don't understand the product we were looking for and told them are you familiar with the products and then again zero understanding, we left. Crazy how they discriminate against Latinos in this community as we heard from our firm. read more

Walmart website said this location had a TV in stock so I went there to buy said TV. After 15 minutes looking for an associate to help, they did NOT have said TV in stock. Associate tried to up-sell a "better" TV which was actually downgrade when comparing specs (TV I wanted was 120 Hz, TV associate recommended was 60 Hz). To the average consumer he might have up-sold based on name brand alone but I didn't fall for it. Upon checkout in the express lane, I waited 10 minutes to buy one package of super glue. I'm a Walmart addict, mainly because I like cheap-ish stuff and they USUALLY have what I'm looking for. I pretty much know the store like the back of my hand, so I don't require much help from the staff -- (not like they acknowledge my existence when I'm there anyway). However, the few times that I have required assistance... well..... it's pretty much always ended in me cursing that employee out. Just one of my more recent instances: The day after Christmas, I went in to get a case for my new phone. After scouring the aisle for almost 15 minutes and not seeing the particular case I wanted (otterbox defender series for iphone 6 plus), I asked a staff member who was leaning against a display case if they had it in stock (she seemed to be middle eastern. Pretty sure her name started with a D, had a U and an I in there somewhere too lol) . Her reply was to not even look at me, but just lift up her arm and point with her pen down to the far end of the aisle. I glanced down the aisle and said "Nooooo, those are the samsung galaxy cases, I need the iphone case which I don't see here". She then grunted and again pointed with her pen to the iphone cases behind us. Since this woman was obviously not advanced mentally, I decided to explain AGAIN that I did NOT SEE THE FREAKING iPHONE 6+ DEFENDER CASE OUT THERE AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IF SHE COULD CHECK AND LET ME KNOW IF THEY WERE IN STORE OR NOT. That finally got her to speak. Still leaning against her beloved display case, she pointed to a phone case a few feet away with her pen and said "This one". I couldn't tell what she was pointing at since everything was like 5 feet away. I asked which one she was pointing at and she said "that one next to that one". -- WTF? Basically, I was a little annoyed at this point...... I told her I didn't know what the (expletive) she was pointing at and I would (expletive) appreciate if she would move from her (expletive) display case, and do her (expletive) job so that we could both be on our (expletive) way. Turns out she was pointing to a sparkly pink studded 11 dollar case that was for the iphone 4s. I had had enough so after spitting a few more choice words her way, I stormed off and asked another electronic department member if they had the cases in stock. The other member's informative, extremely detailed and welcoming response when I asked if they had the cases?..... "No" then brushing past me with no further info as to if/when they'll be getting them in store. Now, I'm obviously not the only one who thinks a lot of their employees are completely incompetent, so I don't really get why management doesn't DO something about it?!? --- [Not everyone in that store sucks. I've come in contact with some super friendly employees ( & not that this is about race, but mainly the black people lol)] Another thing - the self check out lanes are NEVVVVER functioning correctly and most of the time, then can only get them to accept cards. Whenever I use them, there's always a problem and I have to stand there and hopelessly glance around for a few minutes until an employee wanders by and I'm able to ask for help since there is never an attendant there. I get that it's Walmart, but seriously.... get it together. hopefully the new one opening off of 606 won't be as big of a cluster-f as this one is. read more

I love this location because it's not as crowded as the Fair Lakes location. They don't have as many options in stock as the one in F.L. but I still do the same damage in here. I mean, you can't walk into any Walmart for a couple of things and end up spending $20 more than you wanted to! Even though it's smaller, it has all your basic needs and supplies. I usually come for the food just because it's much cheaper than Giant or Safeway. Staff is very helpful and friendly. It's clean, easy to get around and organized. There is a subway inside which I've never been so I'm not sure how good it is. Great place to go to if you don't want to be in that Fair Lakes craziness! read more
