I went to Walmart because I was doing a little diy home improvement - I was painting my dresser. After looking up online all the supplies that I would need, I head to Walmart with my list. I head back to paint/hardware section of Walmart. I see that someone at the paint desk is being helped. So I decide to gather up all of the other supplies that I will need. I go around and find everything I will need. Head over to the paint samples and find the perfect color. I walk up to the desk and I see an employee walk up to the computer that is there - I ask her if she can call someone to help me. She is too busy clocking out. Then she walks over and sees down the aisle and gets the attention of another associate. Meanwhile, after he finishes with that customer, he is walking towards me but is stopped by another customer and helps her. By the time he finally comes over to me, he says "time for me to go" and again clocks out right in front of me. Luckily another employee was walking over at the same time who decided to help me. The first two employees were too busy thinking they were "done". I don't know what store tells employees to clock out when a customer is standing there talking to them. I tell the employee who finally helped me the paint that I wanted - the color, the brand, the finish of the paint, the size - EVERYTHING! He says okay and walks over to the aisle. I look at the computer, see what I need (light base 1) and after realizing it's taking him WAY TOO LONG in that aisle I walk over to find him looking at the WRONG brand, size, and finish. I asked for a quart - why are you looking at gallons of paint??? Luckily I have painted enough and smart enough to know what I needed. He said he doesn't usually work the paint section and was glad that i knew what I needed. I was glad I knew too, but who knows what I would have ended up with if neither of us knew what we were doing. I was also thankful that he helped me since the first two employees felt that they were "done" for the day despite the fact that I was standing in front of them asking them for help/service. Whoever manages this Walmart needs to train employees better, especially if you are going to have a paint section. Next time I will just go to a home improvement store where the staff is trained and won't clock out and walk away from you. read more

Was there today, staff unhappy, I observed a lady at the food counter try to get the attention of the worker that was a few steps away and she was ignored. If you don't want to work. Quit and let someone who wants a job have it. Horrible Walmart experience. read more

This review is on both the store itself, as well as overnight RV parking. This was one of the cleanest & most well stocked Walmarts we've seen since we begun our cross country food road trip in Northern California 2 weeks ago. Pretty sure we have stayed (overnight) at 4 & shopped at more than that. Everything from the garden center to the parking lot was sparkling. Even a secret set of bathrooms towards the back of the store where the audio/video dept is located. Cleaner & less traveled than the ones everyone knows about near the front. However, their wifi sucked. Had to pirate the photo center's & it was just crappy. We called ahead to ask about overnight parking for RV's & spoke w/ Kay, who picked-up the main line in less than 2 rings. I usually ask to speak w/ the manager on duty to make sure over night parking is allowed at each location before just showing up. Additionally, finding out where they prefer us to park almost 60 feet of class A & SUV in tow is just common courtesy when you are not paying for accommodations. Usually on the perimeter, furthest from the entrance. Kay asked me if there was anything she could help me w/ before transferring me to management, which can usually be quite a wait, so her gesture was appreciated. She informed us where to park, welcomed us & reminded us of all of the conveniences her store offered, as well as being open 24 hrs. We ended up going in 3 times over the course of the evening & in the morning, spending over $400 in toiletries, food & bottled water, RV supplies & AV equipment. Good business planning if you ask me. Parking lot was suuuuuper quiet overnight. It was such a cool summer night we were able to turn off our generator & open the screened RV windows for air, granted I do sleep w/ earplugs. But, they certainly drown out everything (hubby snoring). Had a great night sleep, no interruptions. My previous experiences with Wal Mart was always less than stellar. When they opened this Wal Mart I was thankful it was so close. It is truly the Disneyland of Wal Mart's' Always stocked, same great staff, (not a lot of turnover), super clean, great stuff everywhere-every department. The only drawback is the weekends. when the weekends come everyone and their cousin show up and invades my Wal Mart. read more

It's a nice, newer building with your normal low prices for one stop shopping. On the other hand it is usually very crowded. Therefore you could wait up to 20-25 minutes waiting to check out. Last time I was there we waited 25 minutes and my wife said she would never go back. read more

It's your typical big box retailer...but this one is close to home. The store is generally well-organized and always clean. I hate when my bad-wheeled shopping cart has to maneuver around random obstacles like discarded packing boxes, and this location has done a fine job of keeping the aisles clear. This particular location is a Super Walmart, and their foodstuffs pricing is very competitive. I have found that they do not carry or stock a lot of specialty stuff that out-of-towners would like to see. Shoppers should stay vigilant with the packaging, as the lower prices on some items is due to different sized packaging. On more than one occasion, I've picked up what I thought was a "good deal", only to realize that the price per ounce was more. Super Walmarts are the kings of combined shopping trips, however, and this site is no different. Ingress and Egress of the parking lot can be tricky, as the traffic from the Concord Mills may cause a bout of road rage, especially on the weekends! This is a huge Walmart that has everything you need. It's clean, and the people are what you'd expect. In there tonight when shifts were changing I suppose. With 30 or so people in line two lanes were open after three lanes abruptly closed. People were agitated as a store with 30 or so lanes had most of their lanes closed. read more

After traveling across the country in our motorhome , I can say that this Super WalMart is one of the best!

Shelves are always in need of restocking. Employees (most not all) are miserable. I'll do anything to avoid this place.

It was my friends birthday so his mom went to go pick up the cake she had ordered a few days before for his party and when she went to go retrieve it there was a hair in the icing so she gave it back and told them to redo the cake. My friends sister and I went back to pick it up and all they did was scrape the top icing off and redo it. And very poorly decorated. Luckily management let us take it for free since the party was in 15 minutes. Not very satisfied though. read more

If there was a way to give this store 0/5 I would. My girlfriend needed to blow up a balloon for a photo shoot the following morning. We had already gone to a Walmart in Concord that did no have helium (which was our mistake for not checking). We called the Thunder rd location and asked if they had helium. They said that they did so we asked just to confirm, if we drive there, they would be able to fill the balloon. The employee answered by saying yes as long as we made it by 10:00. So we made the 30 minute drive only to get there and find out that they were out of helium, had been for the past 2 weeks and would be for another week. The employees went and got the customer service manager on shift who told us that there was nothing they could do for us and that they were out. Instead of recognizing that they made a mistake which caused a rather large inconvenience on our behalf and trying to make it right, the manager walked away mid-conversation. I have never received a discount or have asked for one in my entire life but in this situation, I feel as if that is what should have happened. Instead we had to buy an entire helium tank instead of filling up the balloon for .50 cents. Way to go Walmart. You lived up to your reputation of being a sloppy, run-down, poor customer service establishment that does things half-assed without caring about the customer. read more

I love the Walmart on Thunder Road in Concord! Clean store, great employees can't ask for much more than that!

Called today, July 23 at 8 am to ask when the pharmacy opened. The gal who answered did not know and transferred me to the pharmacy. I was on hold so long I called back and no answer. I kept holding and got in my car and still on hold. Very few people in the store as far as customers. Found a manager and showed him my phone that I was still on hold and had to drive to the store for an answer. Ironic that they answer customer service when there is none. read more

Walmart Supercenter - Me at moms surprise birthday. - Grocery Near Me - Concord, North Carolina

On Cyber Monday Walmart advertised the LOL Surprise O.M.G Winter Disco Cosmic Nota Fashion Doll and Sister for $34.88. These dolls were originally $68. So this was a great deal and I ordered. It was to be delivered 12/2 to a store in my area. I got an email on the day it was supposed to be ready for pick up that stated the order was canceled because it was no longer in stock. I went on Walmart.com and found the doll for $158.88. I was furious. Not only for canceling my order but for price gouging during the holidays. I called and talked to customer service which was totally worthless. She was able to get a doll to Oklahoma store for next day pick up. This didn't do me any good since I am in North Carolina. I asked why they couldn't send me the $158 doll since it was the same doll. She kept telling me it wasn't in my area. Well it was when I placed the order. I am done with Walmart, I will not be supporting such a money hungry business any longer. Shop elsewhere. They are despicable. read more

I usually like coming to this Walmart on this side of town, the customer service is amazing, it's organized, they have a lot of products to chose from, etc etc. After my visit with their optometrist, I don't think I'll be coming back...I came to get a fitting for new contact lenses, since one of my lenses were ruined. So when I told them my situation, they told me they were closing at 2:00pm (this was on a Saturday) and they could take me at the last minute. I figured, okay, maybe I don't have to go somewhere else. Wrong smh. I could of left and went else where if they were in such a "rush" to get off...Long story short, the optometrist was "in a hurry", rude, and arrogant acting towards me, just plan ugly in his attitude. Eh, yeah...I have a replacement contact lens, but I can take my service elsewhere and be treated better...I wasn't expecting such treatment..I mean, I would of definitely understood if they couldn't assist me...but hey...there's other places with better service... read more
