I've shopped at numerous Wal-Marts. I have found the worst. The manager should be fired twice. Fired. Rehired. Slapped and fired again. Aside from the low quality merchadise, this location is dirty, under staffed, under trained and under stocked. The bathroom toilet was overflowing, waste on the floor, no toilet paper, and my shoes stuck to the floor. Have never bought all my groceries here as they are always under stocked. Was being assisted in meat deli area when employee decided to stop assisting me so she could make a phone call. Needed assistance in toy department. What was I thinking? After standing in a long line with my 2 items. The customer before me needed help. The employee took the customer to find a manager. Just walked away leaving register suspended. It took 3 employees to cancel transaction. No sorry for inconvenience or apology for delay. Just the usual poor customer service. I can't imagine this is what Sam Walton had in mind. read more

I am jealous that this side of Dallas has this ultra cool Sams-Walmart and I am stuck with my ghetto run down Sam's off Eastchase and 30. Hrmpphh. I hit up this Sam's and adjoined Walmart last friday and was shocked with the mall-like parking garage, 3 story escalators and clean and organized store. This Walmart has a great produce section - neatly organized and fresh looking. Much better than my dirty old looking fruit and veggies at my local W-mart. This is a really big location but it is clean with large selections. What I REALLY want to comment on though is my facination with the BUGGY ESCALATOR!! Good Lord, if there was ever anything that should be referred to as "necessary evil", it is definitely WalMart. This mega center at the chaos of Skillman and Northwest Highway is the first WalMart Supercenter that is truly inside of the LBJ loop and the closest to Uptown and Downtown. Here's the skinny of this mega mess: Pros: -Very clean and well organized WalMart. Big aisles and fairly easy to find most items. -Big checkout area with not-too-bad of wait times. Really depends on the time of day. Cons: -The person who designed the layout of the parking garage and access roads was on LSD. Access is a NIGHTMARE for pedestrians and cars alike. There is no easy way in or out of this place. -The idea that WalMart groceries are cheaper than other retails is a myth. At least at this location for sure. Man items on my checklist on this last visit were noticeably more expensive than Kroger. On top of that, the selection is very poor. -My fellow shoppers were a hot mess. Children screaming, couples arguing, and solicitors at every door. WalMarts are a magnet for interesting characters. I get the fact that this area is high traffic and a go-to location for many folks in North and East Dallas. I'll come here for particular retail purchases yet after this last visit, I certainly won't come back for groceries. The prices aren't that competitive and the parking is enough to give you a panic attack. Boo! read more

This WalMart is a quandary for me. It's conveniently located to home. The parking garage is bonus when wanting to stay out of the rain OR needing to access Sam's and Walmart on the same visit. Inventory is hit and miss. My experience has been that when I'm looking for something specific, it's a 50/50 chance of having it or not....either being out of stock or not carrying it. When this happens, the Walmart at Forest/635 will assuredly be in stock as it carries a larger choice of inventory. PROS: Parking Garage Adjoined to Sam's Club on same property CONS: Customer Service staff are rude, talk to each other in the most demeaning manner, and even to the customers. We've called 1.800.Walmart MANY times about this. NEVER enough open checkouts. Checkers are hit miss on being a good experience. Some don't even talk to you. They scan, take payment and move on the next customer. The atmosphere is rushed, rude service. Bottom Line: I won't return to this Walmart. Customer Service is rude, inventory is hit/miss, and will always wait in line since there aren't enough checkers. I won't return unless absolutely necessary. read more

It's Sunday evening and prime time for grocery shopping. You are a new college grad just getting the bare minimum groceries you need for the week. Of course it won't take that long to get in and out of the store. 24 check out lanes they said..Cheap prices they said.. Wrong! This Walmart is extremely understaffed and it doesn't matter what day of the week you come, expect to wait extremely long lines. There are 24 check out lines but they might as well get rid of half of them because the max they will ever have open is 9. No self check outs and you can forget about them opening up the 15 items and under lanes. There must be some serious issues here with employment retention and management. No other Walmart that I have visited long term has ever been like this. OK OK...Enough of my bitching. The employees here are awesome! This place gets two stars alone just because of how they friendly they are here at this Walmart. They know everybody is frustrated trying to get their groceries and waiting absurdly long times to check out. They know the customers are irritable yet they still give a great effort to get you out fast. The stars I give this place are due to the sole effort of the cashiers and item stockers here. I hate Walmart, but it is unfortunately a necessary evil. As far as Walmarts go, this is the one I prefer. Because the Sam's and Walmart are attached, it makes it easier to shop. The covered parking garage keeps the temp down in the summer too. This Walmart and Sam's are usually cleaner than most, and better stocked as well. It does not have a fabric section, and the craft area is smaller than other Walmarts. If these are things you are looking for, then this isn't the right Walmart for you. Overall, this Walmart is better than most. But it does have a longer wait to checkout, the Sam's too. If you have to go to a Walmart in Dallas, this is the one I would recommend. read more

Purchased a metal detector from Walmart .com and decided to return it and they would not return. They have a 90 return policy but refused because it was a third party purchase. If they are not going to stand behind everything they sell and give the same 90 policy then I'm done with Walmart. That store on retail rd being run into the ground by management. Shelves still empty and customer service sucks. Try the Walmart on forest lane must better and cleaner. But return policy sucks. I'm so disappointed in this Wal-Mart. I called prior to my visit to make sure they had a game and they said yes. When I got there I couldn't find it and asked 3 employees all who didn't know the answer. I called customer service who told me it was in aisle I-25 but the aisle didn't exist. I'm from Arkansas and I hate Walmart with a bloody ass passion but tonight took the cake I couldn't get my check cashes which they tried three times on their bullshit check cashing machines which they needed to update the girl tried on 3 different machines and it kept saying declined which it shouldn't because it's a legit check which I had to leave the store and go all the way to PLS and tried to cash my check and couldn't there while walking in these bullshit ass shoes aka death trap for your feet which should be legalized as a death sentence for your feet and ankles and came back to shop and the worst part was I had to stand in line for 15 -20 minutes while one of the managers decided to get off her high horse and help out literally top 5 moments of major disasters and pain in my ass in Walmart history read more

The number on the sign for the pick up check in does not work. Waited for 45mins. Went inside tried to ask an associate walking past me she rudely replied "I'm getting off" and walked past me away. Went back to the pick up area to see if I could get it as I already paid and it was one lawn chair, this guy ernesto looked like he was about to have a heart attack and just said they were behind and I needed to drive back around.. it's a lawn chair. Let's start off by saying I am NOT A FAN OF WALMART. It doesn't matter how clean it is, how nice the employees are, or all the cool variety of coffee that they have that Target doesn't have. One of the main reasons why I don't like Walmart is because it always looks... filthy and disorganized. Ehh.. I will say that the only reason why I would come back to this place is because their Mexican candy section (which by the way is NOT IN THE CANDY ISLE, it's in the snack isle) has those strawberry chili gummies. Oh my word, the bag is HUGE and it's only like $2. Seriously, the most delicious thing if you're into weird Mexican candy. The lines are usually long but for that candy, I would stand in line over and over. read more

No carts available. Picked up 2 98 cent masks and went back to see if they had a basket. Went to reach and get one and get yelled at by an employee. Really! I was literally reaching for a basket. I said I just need a basket there were no carts. He ran over to hand me one less I come through the gate, informed me carts were coming. He was supposed to be watching the door. I don't know what these people are talking about - this place is ridiculously awesome! I totally love this WalMart and it has changed my snobby Target attitude upside down. This location is laid out fabulously and is easy to navigate. There is also a plethora of parking spaces and the traffic is always moving through the levels of the parking garage and lot. This WalMart also has a great grocery side - full of organic fruits and veggies and a super helpful deli and bakery. Side note: I brought a group of international students here many a-times over the summer and each time they were impressed with how organized it is. read more

I love Walmart. This Walmart, that Walmart, every Walmart. So I don't think it is cool to like Walmart but I am a big dork so I don't care. This Walmart is new, shiny and clean, and like every Walmart, everything here is less expensive than anywhere else. The one downside is that the turn into the Walmart center from east bound Northwest Hwy is a pain and backs up at traffic times because there is no traffic light there and there is a blind hill that it is hard to see over and see oncoming traffic. If you go a little farther and north on Skillman, you can turn in at the light near Home Depot. Also, if you didn't gather from other people's reviews, this is a double decker Walmart/Sam's with a Walmart on top of Sam's. Even though that sounds like a parking nightmare, it really isn't. read more

I'm not a fan of Walmart. But when times call for one-stop shopping on a whim, I suck it up. This location is pretty convenient with Sams club underneath it. When it comes to the employees though, it's just like any other Walmart: unfriendly, could care less about what you need to find, and long lines. The produce is a better selection than the other walmarts. Let's face it. It doesn't matter what area a Walmart is in, it still has the stigma of any other Walmart. And with their prices and convenient shopping, we all fall victim and find ourselves mumbling under breaths that "I'm never coming here again". read more

Ok, I love Walmart, and this is a very clean one in a good part of town. But please stay away from site to store. You have to go to the very back of the store to pick it up, and the people working in the "photo" section (yes, this is where you pick up your stuff), while friendly, obviously shouldn't be in charge of finding your prepaid items. I don't fault them for this at all. They attempted to be helpful, but I'm sitting here for the second day in a row trying to pick up my things, and I'm being told the bike's not here, even though I specifically got an email stating it was ready. Is Walmart trying to discourage site to store? If so, then why even offer it. Anyway, long story short, I fault Walmart's process. Place is normal...only the fact that one day I called if a game was available there and wouldn't answer, went into the store and they had it. I never went to Sam's because I don't have a membership yet. Another experience I had here some co workers cussing out loud...some experience. Scanned a bar of dove soap it deals 48/carton for 1.27 at this store the cashier seemed fine with it I asked her for a store manager not a csm the store manager comes over and the csm follows even though she was asked not to come over she insisted she was very hostile and very rude about it I understand it says carton but the picture shows the single bars so I put 48 single bars in my cart hoping to check out not looking to scam or get over I am a couponing mom and know a good deal when I see one will probably never return looking to see where the closest Walmart is too me this isn't my first encounter with this csm but this time I draw the line I was with my 2yr old daughter and the csm tone of voice and level were just all wrong read more

Don't ever do a layaway at Walmart! I woke up in a bad mood and going to Walmart just made it worst. It all started when I got a layaway back in October the guy told me you know I can save your friend $5 by putting her layaway under your account we said OK because he said "we didn't have to get them out on the same day" you can get them out separate he said". So he add her stuff under my name but it was supposed to be separate. He put it on the same ticket so when I went to get mines out today they told me I had to delete all her stuff off my ticket to be able to get it out so the girl deleted all my stuff and re rung it up so that I can pay and they can pull it. So I did that and went back to photo and waited and waited and waited no one ever came back to photo with a layaway in the 2 and a half hours I was waiting the only thing was leaving from the back was site to store and only if you had a TV wasn't anything moving from the back at all it was the same people sitting there waiting forever. So I told them at 4pm that I had to go and they couldn't print me a duplicate receipt so they send somebody to the back to find the person that has my receipt so that I could come back at a later date the girl comes back 30 mins later says no one has my receipt so the girl at the photo went and still couldn't find nobody pulling layaway's that has my receipt. A low level manager came and went to the back and he came back empty handed and said he couldn't find the person who pulling the layaway's nor that has my receipt by that time it was 5pm it took them an hour to not be able to find my receipt so I asked for a refund. He called a Manager that is over him to print me a duplicate receipt so that I can get a refund. She didn't take that long to get there but they had to take 10 mins to explain the situation to her then she took me to the register that I paid my layaway balance at and apparently since the girl was gone she couldn't pull the receipt directly off the register so she took me to customer service and pulled it off of that register and we had to walk over to the cash office and wait for 5 mins for someone to walk over and open the door for her so that she can pull the duplicate receipt off the printer after she got the duplicate receipt we had to go to another register to for her to issue me a refund the whole thing is Ridiculous. Now I have to go find my daughter toys somewhere else. I refuse to go to the Walmart by my house after I took my car to get an oil change and that Walmart messed my car up real bad it started shaking and messing up and I took my car to my regular mechanic and it took almost $400 to fix my car fixed. Don't do a layaway ever with Walmart. Don't do One hour photo with Walmart's unless you want to wait 2 and a half hours. Don't ever go to Walmart on Black Friday unless you wan't to leave in an Ambulance and Never ever ever ever ever ever let Walmart touch your car under no circumstances unless you have extra money to get it fixed. They will F it up big time. read more

This is the LAST TIME I come here! Managers please give your employees a lesson on working faster to speed up the check out line! Every time I've been here, no matter what day or what time of day, the checkout line takes forever! Why? The checkers have no sense of working fast- they take their time and have no clue of the people waiting in line. They chat and laugh with each other and pay no attention to the lines. It's ridiculous! I realize these are most likely high school age employees and this is their first job, but the #1 thing they NEED TO LEARN is ....the longer you take the madder we get! We have jobs to get to, families to cook for, etc and to get us out FAST makes for a HAPPY CUSTOMER! Update- because I had to stop in again. Managers take note- you need to have a serious discussion with your employees about the inappropriateness of cell phones during work hours!!! Every employee - except for one - that I encountered (a nice older lady) was on her cell phone on a Friday evening at 6 PM. Even in the self check out line- 2 younger girls with their faces in their phone NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THEIR JOB- ignoring my questions and need for assistance. Totally oblivious to the customers needs. This place is ridiculous!! Put your damn cell phones away during work hours people!! read more

I'm not normally a Wal-Mart shopper, but I needed some cheap shorts and t-shirts for a trip. I ordered them online and asked to pick up at the store. I assumed it would be similar to Target's pick-up service, where you run in to Customer Service at the front of the store and get your items. Wrong. The pick-up center is at the very back of the store. Not ideal for someone who is in a hurry. And the pick-up center has limited hours; just because the store is open doesn't mean the pick-up center is. And even if you go during those hours, there may not be anyone working in pick-up. I made three trips to the store to get my order. the first two times, no one was working pick-up and I was told to come back. No one was working there the third time, but that time I went back to my car, called the store manager and told him I would not be making a fourth trip. He was very nice and retrieved my order himself. I still won't be making another trip to this Wal-Mart. The associates I asked for help ranged from clueless and unhelpful to downright rude. I know they're understaffed and underpaid, but leaving customers to fend for themselves won't help. read more

This is probably the best Walmart Supercenter in Dallas proper. Lets face it, the further from Dallas you get, the better they seem to be..but this one ain't bad at all. Parking is kind of a bear because of the strip center its in, but I can live with that. They're always stocked, and they're always staffed well. Managers are on the floor, they will help you. The aisles are wide, and they've got a large variety of product. I can't ask for much else really! read more

This is the Absolute Worst Wal-Mart! I bought something for $19.97 on Sunday and today, Thursday, receipt in hand, all with original packing, was told the sku didn't match. The sign clearly says $19.97 and yet a young, inexperienced and Highly insulting young man, named Marco "represented" himself as The Manager. He wanted me to accept $6.00 Less than what my card was debited for! I asked why he thought I should do that and he shrugs and said "That's the way it is". Obviously, I demanded to speak with someone else. I Did get my full refund but I will be calling the Real manager and the corporate office in Bentonville. Besides having bare shelves, trash in parking lot, rude sales associates it Never fails to be a a Nightmare. The app said my order was "ready for pick up" since last "Wednesday" it's now Tuesday of the new week and I had a question about whether it was ready to pick up at last. The lady who answered the phone was very rude, I called 3 times and all of those times they hung up on me so the lady told me "well we're busy". I don't mind waiting on the phone but why are they just hanging up on people? Definitely never shopping here ever again. read more
