I would absolutely give them a zero if I could. I have looked all over the site to find out who is the store manager and regional or district manager for this store and I could find nothing, so I called the store directly. Not only was the "Customer Service" person unable to give me that info but his manager was standing next to him and he would not give me the info. Both asked me why did I need the info, I replied to send a letter/email. They only new the manager's first name, that they are not allowed to give a last name and neither of them (out of both of their mouths) new the store manager's last name. What in the slim pickens is going on here? I guess if you have a complaint or a compliment about Walmart stores your inquiries good, bad or indifferent go to the Walmart abyss located who the heck knows where. Sad sad sad. read more

Beware of the Vision Center at this Walmart! They only give you an "estimate" of how much you owe at the time you order glasses. Of course Charles didn't say it was just an estimate when I explained that I wasn't sure I wanted the upgrade if the insurance didn't pay. Then, a couple months later you'll get a bill for $100 more and NO ONE at the store to help you understand. The best Sarah could do was say, "did you read the paper you signed?? It's an ESTIMATE. (over and over) Call the number on the statement." I asked to speak to a manager and after being on hold she came back on the phone and said no one was available. The Walmart billing office was able to look at the information and determine the Vision Center apparently gave the wrong policy # on my insurance and there is confusion over if anything was ever paid by my insurance. Now I have to wait for it all to be resubmitted. Not to mention that when I did get my glasses, I told Sarah that the lenses weren't correct and instead of taking care of it then, she told me to live with it for a while and see if I still needed adjustments in a couple weeks. I ended up with headaches and terrible dizziness from trying to "live with it". Even after the second adjustment they were better but not correct and Charles said he would have to check to see if they could try to fix them again. I just let it go. If I had known I would then get an additional bill I would have insisted that the glasses be fixed or a refund issued. All of this because the two people at that Vision Center didn't do their job properly. read more

Guys I know yall aren't suprised at the bad reviews from ANY walmart but my goodness avoid this location at all cost. The customer service here or lack thereof is horrid! Today topped it for me and honestly I am so drained that I don't have the energy to write it all down but just know it was so bad I wrote to corporate. SMH! DO NOT ORDER PICK UP FROM THIS STORE!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Completely horrible and unprofessional experience. Well I take it back from one lady who usually works overnight and they asked her to help in Pick-Up area. Whoever the front end Supervisor was, short, young mexican looking guy, was completely rude and dismissive. When I asked for help in pickup since another customer and I had been waiting for a while, he rolled his eyes and did not even look at me as he said he would get someone to help me. Even after that he still took over 15 min to get someone. Come to find out, he could of helped us all along because he had the machine on his hand that he handed off to the overnight lady. She was very nice and apologetic. She didnt know exactly what to do as I was trying to cancel my order and kept going back to the guy that cant be bothered. To be honest he was just hoovering over a female cashier being very chatty with her but as soon as someone else approached him, his demeanor changed. Anyway, he told me he had cancelled my order and that I did not need to worry about it. He told me this as he was walking away from me and never once looked at me. I had to walk behind him and ask him if he was sure because I never got a cancellation email. He said yes and for me not to worry about it. This is the next day and I still have the order pending to be picked up. That front end manager or supervisor or lead, whatever he is, is completely useless. I live in Elgin and tend to shop at walmart a lot. I will be making the drive to the walmart in Manor from now on. read more

Amazing location. The staff is friendly and the store is always stocked. I love their produce and meats, they always have good deals there.

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday. As I was walking in down the isle I stepped on something on the floor. It was some broken wood pieces. I got a pain in my ankle. Tried to walk it off. But instead it got worse. I looked for someone who wasn't busy so I could make an incident report. I did. This young lady acted like she had no clue as to what I was asking. Later saw her walking by with same guy going on break. At check out I asked to do a report. One lady helped. She was nice. Said she was going to get a manager. He came. ACTED CLUELESS. So I left. Ankle still hurts. Just might go about things differently. Just because they were so rude. Still didn't find what I wanted..due to they never restock. read more

They got rid of EVERY checkout clerk. This store is 100% self checkout. If you come at any normal hour you will be waiting 30-40 minutes to pay for your 3 items. This store is a hot mess. read more

Went in to this Walmart to warranty two batteries. After waiting over an hour, one battery was determined to be under warranty. Dan, told us to go and get a replacement off the shelf, which we did, and told us the girl behind the counter will warranty it out. No problem...or so we thought! The girl claims the battery is from 2014, when the sticker and bar code say 2017... Suddenly "helpful" Dan changes his story and no warranty, no exchange. Took both to another Walmart, and guess what, no problem. So over an hour wasted at this Walmart by inept, two faced individuals. Never again!! read more

Yesterday I went to Elgin Walmart to buy a camera and was met by a friendly helpful clerk!!! The clerk got the camera and we went to the counter to complete the transaction when I asked if we could open the box as I had a question and the clerk was fine with it.....after the box was open and question answered another clerk came over asked what was happening and we told her. I then asked if this came with batteries...we then checked and found out that it was suppose to have rechargeable batteries with a charger but both were missing. I asked if they sold the required batteries and charger? She responded in a snotty way saying "No and that's why we don't open boxes!!". Am I missing something?? Should I have bought it the way it was.......missing parts??? Clerk # 2 wasn't helpful nor at all friendly.... read more

This store was so great when they first opened in Elgin...now they are almost as bad as the Walmart in Bastrop. Their cashiers seem clueless that you are actually buying the items they drop from waist-high into your bags. Oh, and ask them to actually put your bags in your cart...? GOOD LUCK! They look at you like that is not in their job description. Not even a THANK YOU from a cashier. You may get a have a good day, but I expect a "thank you" from someone taking my money. I have called and spoke to a manager who argued with me when I complained about the poor service...his words were, "I disagree". That right there tells me where the problem is. Have you tried their meat section? Today is the THIRD time I've had to return spoiled meat. Are their meat cases not cold enough? I called Customer Service and was told they would refund my money...I would expect that...and when I told her that this was the third time I purchased spoiled meat she seemed very uninterested...it didn't matter to her that I was an unhappy customer...not - at - all. While HEB isn't a five star grocery store, it's much better than Walmart. read more

Very nice and helpful staff and of course a huge selection. My heat had gone out so I needed a room heater ASAP!! Picked up a couple of smaller items and was home, warm and cozy within the hour. So grateful they are open 24 hours!! In Elgin everything closes very early so I'm very grateful to Walmart for being open!! read more

It's Walmart. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Checkouts are generally fast and error-free, but I generally don't purchase a cart load here. In fact I don't think I've ever purchased a cart load here. Anyways, it's you're regular Walmart, not awful - not great. Generally the store is pretty clean, the shelfs have always looked full when I have been shopping, and employees don't look like they're doing time for committing a crime. Downside is if you need any of the "specialty" things (I.e. Sewing, paint, sometimes electronics) you're going to be waiting (at least I always have, but I generally go after work so 4pm and later) because for whatever reason either only management knows how to do it, or only one cashier does which takes at least 10 minutes for them to finish up the customer they're helping come all the way to the back, and then finally start the process. Although in sewing you might get lucky and someone is stocking it so there's that... :) read more

Tonight I was a victim of sexual assault. At the Walmart in Elgin check out. The man was an employee with a women at the checkout kneeling next to her with his phone facing her, recording her. I was going to my check out a ways away, and he suddenly came and kneeled next to me "arranging" skittles with his phone facing my ass. He was moving closer 3 times we moved away. He had no reason to be next to me that close, or even on the floor. I went to tell my boyfriend as we were leaving that I think he was recording me. He went back to approach the guy in the store and I followed. He asked him if he was recording people and he mumbled and said uh no. Closing his phone My boyfriend saw him on his phone with the recorder open. He closed it and stood up. My boyfriend said you better delete that and he mumbled again so he addressed him to get the manager. As we were waiting the employee walked behind the register and started to get on his phone to delete it. I told him don't delete anything and he said I'm not I'm texting I say you shouldn't be on your phone at all. He then shows the manager his pictures at this point it's already deleted and it's not there. The cameras are magically not working after the manager says she will get the camera footage. The cops were called and me and the other victims filled a report, ofcourse they had no evidence since I'm sure the camaras have to go threw corporate before the cops can view it. We will be calling corporate when they open this morning And be contacting our attorneys if needed since Walmart doesn't seem to care about customer safety. read more

Trying not to start this review out in a negative way, but don't think that I'll be able hold out for long. Let me start out by saying that it's great to have a retail store like Walmart in the area. It cuts down on us having to commute to Bastrop or Austin. It also helps to keep prices down since it has to compete with HEB. The fact that Walmart has a tendency to run the locals is a well known item, but not the root of my issue. I've never run across a set of staff that were as misinformed as Walmart employees. The phrase "this isn't my section" seems like it's scripted because that's all I ever hear when I'm looking for something in the store. Walmart didn't do anything for my perception today either. We get in line and the card reader is malfunctioning, and all the clerk is trained to do is run your card 50 times before she tries to contact anyone. Then when she tries, there's not a manager in site. My wife finally finds one, but 20 minutes later they still haven't come to assist. My grew frustrated and just tried another card, was older and more beat up than the card she tried to use. The card reader kept telling her that it's waiting on the cashier, the cashier keep seeing a message that it was waiting on the customer. Then it was my turn, as we split groceries between us. I try my card and guess what, same thing. The clerk is looking around for the manager who still hadn't arrived. I basically pick up all of the stuff I was purchasing and go the self checkout line, which I hate for various reasons. On first try, my card works with no further issues. However by then I've waisted at least 30 minutes of my life that I can't get back, and time that could have been used towards my college classes. read more
