Late post 6/2026 It's always refreshing to encounter employees who go above and beyond to help customers without even being asked. Joseph at the self-checkout and Diane in the cosmetics department both demonstrated exemplary customer service. They each took the initiative to assist me, and I sincerely appreciated their kindness and willingness to help. Sometimes it can be difficult to find someone when you need assistance, but on this particular day, they noticed I could use a hand and stepped in without hesitation. Their thoughtfulness and genuine care made my shopping experience so much easier. Words can't fully express my gratitude. Joseph and Diane are outstanding examples of what excellent customer service should look like, and I hope they receive the recognition they truly deserve. read more

One my most recent visit, I was looking for something and asked one of the workers for help, and another worker came over to help us! I was pleasantly surprised. I pretty much go to this Walmart 5 times a week (sometimes I ride my bike over there, often to just get some walking/steps in for the day!!) and I've come to know many of the employees that work there. Anyway, it is actually a nice store. And, as with many Walmarts, this place has done some serious REMODELING as of late. The place looks really much nicer now!! read more

If there were a way to give zero stars, I would give that score. Having lived in Fernley for six years, I have yet to understand this store. Each year, it only gets worse. The employees are more unhappy. The store is more run down. The products are limited. The clothing is of poor quality and selection. Living in Fernley, I happily drive the extra minutes and miles to Fallon, where the experience is much better. I don't understand how a store serving so many could have such terrible management. Three stars for a Walmart supercenter that was okay with overnight parking. I stopped in to the store first and picked up some creamer for my morning coffee and a loaf of keto bread. The store was stocked well and reasonably tidy. After paying at the self-checkout, I visited the restroom which needed attention. Not terrible but in need of cleaning and tidying. The parking lot was clean and level. Carts needed attention. My night's sleep was decent and I was not disturbed. So yeah, three stars. Contrary to the negative reviews of this Walmart, my experience today was the opposite. First of all, I get really annoyed at people who complain about Walmart, but yet there they are shopping at Walmart. There are other choices. Today we visited the Veterans Cemetery. We live in Reno and have 4 Walmarts in our city. The Fernley store was no different than some of the other Walmarts that cater to the area and do not carry certain products. I know that and shop accordingly. I only needed a few things and got them with no problem. Employees were not running about. Though not particularly friendly, I did not see rude or unprofessional behavior such as running through aisles with carts. I think I would have contacted a manager in that case. The lady in the self checkout was not outwardly friendly. However she was at least in her 60's and an oxygen tank was by her side. I happened to hear her answer a question with a weak and sickly voice. There she was in presumably bad health, standing and watching to help customers. Not sitting outside panhandling. Good for Walmart for giving her a dignified way of supporting herself. My experience was good. I'd come here again if in the area. Saved me a stop on the way home today. And it's Memorial Day weekend! Didn't appear to be short on staff or product. read more

Well this store is up to doing no good on customer service. They hired a private security company who is harassing customer for a receipt. I said no and got an agreement back from this person saying she had to see my receipt, I said no you don't and walked out a lady who was in front of me told me that the same guard grabbed her arm and asked for a receipt. This is assault and if this person was to do this to me, they will go to jail. I have filed a report of the VP of security with their corporate office and will look into it. read more

You don't expect much walking into a walmart, but this has got to be one of the worst. Ever. The produce selection is always pathetic. It either looks like its been sitting forever, is about to go bad, or, comes from some special farm that only puts out miniature produce. They're also always out of something. So getting what you need here is very hit or miss. The worst part of coming here though, is the people. The employees running through the aisles with carts for online orders have zero manners. They don't scoot to the side to make room for shoppers, they stop in right in front of you while you're looking at the shelves, and they stop to chat with one another in the aisles and don't bother moving when they see you coming. They have no idea how to say 'please', 'thank you', or 'excuse me'. Learning those three phrases would make a world of difference. Next, lets talk about the self-checkout police. Never before have I had a self-checkout camera accuse me of a 'missed scan' as much as the cameras here. And when an employee comes to check it and override, they come over with the most accusatory attitude possible. When they realize they're in the wrong, and so was the damn camera, they can't even humble themselves and apologize for the attitude or inconvenience. They just fix the system and walk away. I also had a situation where the machine ate a few coins, called the worker over to help and the guys response was 'maybe you miscounted.' Are you kidding me?! That's your resolution? An assumption, an accusation.. and you just expect me to accept that? Absolutely unprofessional. We let him know that on the spot and asked for him to call HIS manager. She was also an ass. We told her the machine ate a few of our coins and she didn't say ONE word. She grabbed the change from her pocket, put it in the machine and walked away. She didn't say 'so sorry about that', 'there you go', literally nothing. Finally, theres a sitting cashier here named Jen-Jen who either hates her home life, her job, or possibly both. She has zero personality, makes zero effort to have one, and talks to you like you're an idiot. I had a payment situation she couldn't figure out. She ended up having to call someone over to help and he couldn't figure it out either. So they ended up calling a manager, Elena, to 'help'. After literally 10 minutes of all three of them doing the same two things over and over again, the line was building up. I finally just asked if it was my gift card or the computer that was the problem. Elena and Jen-Jen both looked at me like I was speaking a different language, hesitating momentarily before confirming it was the machine. I then asked if they could just run my credit card cause I was tired of waiting. Jen-Jen replied 'Yeah', like I was wasting THEIR time. Elena just stood there. She didn't apologize for the inconvenience, to me or the people in line, nothing. She just walked away once Jen-Jen processed my card without issue 2 seconds later. Of course the computer 'doesnt work' when processing store credit.. but it sure as hell took my money immediately. Whatever. On the ride home, how the situation was handled was really bothering me. I ended up calling the store with the intent to let the STORE manager know that maybe Jen-Jen could use a pep talk and Elena could use some training when dealing with customers. That was it. I was calm, and I was just sick of the crappy experiences. I was put on hold while they went to find the manager. When the line picked up again, the voice on the other end just said 'hello?', to which I replied 'Hi. What's your name?'. The response? 'Elena. What's up?'. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!? Elena!? And Did she seriously just respond to a customer, while representing a professional company, with 'What's up?' I was fuming. She barely reacted and never apologized. She so nonchalantly didn't care. I called corporate. And I ended up having to call them TWICE. Because of course I did. The first time, I filed an official complaint and received a callback from the STORE within 20 minutes. I spoke with a girl who was VERY pleasant and exactly the opposite of everyone else I had been dealing with over there. Turns out she reported TO Elena. The situation was so unreal at that point, it was almost comical. Poor girl was so nice, but I let her know that it was absolutely inappropriate that they made her call me. I went to corporate again and told them what they did. I refused to deal with anyone IN Fernley at that point. We resolved from there. The majority of the people at this store wouldn't survive life outside of Fernley. They don't know how to communicate or behave around normal people. read more

Just stopped in to pick up mini sandwich rolls for the work week lunch. Best price for 6 and they are soft and not too much bread. Went to see if the were in stock of Little Cesars dog food for the princess Yumi. Yes! Grabbed fifteen to stock up. So close to the garden area, we wondered in there too. I was looking for a small pot for my aloe plant, but they didn't have any. What they did have was a honey crisp apple tree and an apricot tree! Under $30 each!!!! Needless to say, it was a very successful trip to Wally World! Hope they have the same return policy like Lowe's or Home Depot for the trees! read more

For some reason, I continued to utilize their app and pick-up services even after my aforementioned experience. Today was even wore than the last though. At least last time, they managed to complete my order within the designated time-frame, it simply took them roughly 3 hours afterward to actually bring it out to my car. Today, however, I received an email stating that my order would be delayed. That's okay, a small delay is fine and it gave me a chance to finish cleaning up around the house, plus I appreciated being forewarned this time of said delay. After I finished cleaning, I checked my email again to look for an update and did not see one, so I checked the app which still simply stated "delayed" and nothing more. So, I decided to continue reading a book that I have been enjoying. Skip ahead to 4 HOURS AFTER THE DESIGNATED PICK-UP TIME, I don't even bother checking my email at this point because I am frustrated, and went straight to the app. "Delayed". Great. At this point, I am hungry and need some of the groceries in this order for food prep today. I decide to cancel the order instead. Within 30 seconds of me canceling the order via their app, I receive 2 emails: 1 states that there are substitutions in my order but the window for reviewing and approving them is already closed, so I suppose I can just kick rocks if I don't want those substitutions; and the second email was to let me know that my order was ready for pick-up. This makes me wonder just how long the order was ACTUALLY ready, and if they had simply forgotten about me for the past 4 hours, skipping over me to fulfill all of the other orders that were in line after mine for that entire duration. Either way, I ended up going to Raley's to pick up everything that I needed instead, also enrolling in their "something extra" program which earned me money off right away during this purchase, as well as future purchases, something else (aside from customer service skills) that Walmart is lacking. read more

Cashier lady who sits the whole time is super incompetent. She didn't know how to split a payment and was so mono-tone and extremely unhelpful. My neighbors say she's been there forever, too. Oy! Another worker was too scared to call the manager up to learn how to split a card payment. Get rid of her or teach her how to do her only job sitting down! read more

I've tried to give this Walmart location the benefit of the doubt. It is, after all, Walmart, so I didn't expect excellence; however, when I place an order and pay extra fees for delivery, I do expect that most of what I order will make it to my house. Placed an order for maybe 15 items, and when it arrived, I was missing half of my order. Unfortunately, the app doesn't allow you to communicate with the driver or the store directly so, if you want to talk to someone who actually had some level of involvement in your order, you have to call the store itself and wait on hold for 30 minutes while Customer Service flips a coin to decide whether the mighty grocery gods are on your side that particular day, if so they just might feel like answering you. Not in the mood to take my chances today, I opted to use the app chat feature to talk to a customer service representative, in another state, who could look my order up and help me. I appreciate the effort, but when you're in the chat feature, you can't close out of the chat to look at your order without ending the chat. So, this meant that I had to remember/guess/pray that the list of missing items was correct when I gave it to the associate. Oh, and there's a fun feature in the app that asks you to rate your experience but, doesn't allow you to actually explain your reasoning behind giving a low rating... must be the "If I ignore it, it doesn't exist" approach to solving customer complaints. Come on, Walmart. Do better. read more

There is a worldwide pandemic going on called COVID-19 & the employees here and customers are not wearing face masks! This store needs to be closed and deeply sanitized. The employees are not wearing gloves nor sanitizing. They are not sanitizing shopping carts. They are just all hanging out outside together not social distancing. I don't care if you don't believe what doctors & health care professionals are saying, COVID-19 is a very real disease. Walmart corporate should clean this store and enforce mask policies. They are letting people walk around without masks coughing. The sanitizer stations they have are really dirty. The registers are not being cleaned nor are they enforcing social distancing. read more

Disgusting store. Items on floor and shelves unorganized. Floor dirty. Used pick up today for my groceries. Got 9 items that I was charged for that I didn't want.. the manager and staff reused to take the items back and I would be charged for them. So I called 1800walmart. They assured me I wouldn't be charged for the items. Got home, smoker pellet bag had been opened and taped. Associate never told me. It wasn't even the full 40lb bag. I was also given the wrong stainless stall water bottle. Called 1800walmart again and the guy I talked to was Jonathan. Super nice and apologetic. He gave me refunds for both items with no issue. Never again will I order items through the fernley Walmart. I will go to Fallon from now on. read more

Not sure how to rate this store. Is it Super? As in Superman, NO. As in Super duper? NO! OK seriously I think the word Superstore is merely a way to get you to think its a huge store so if size matters then perhaps this is your store. But wait! If you really want something at a reasonable price then this might ne the place to go or at least one of them. I did notice the people here were not as goofy looking as some I see in other Walmart's. The jury may still be out but I did find an electric skillet for cooking our work Christmas breakfast in 2 weeks. OK lets see..... I don't understand why after an election people get so stupid. Really now! no matter who wins the looser always wants to change the process.no matter what happens I need to get new tires on my Jeep. Instead of putting 35" tires again I want to install 40" Goodyear tires. This Walmart usually has a greeter who nods at you leave but today they had an elderly lady who was insisting on examining receipts in minute detail ... but not for the light complected folks. Those folks she just waived right through. She also started to cross examine me about an item that has been taken off my receipt (WHICH CAN ONLY BE DONE BY A STORE ASSOCIATE SHERLOCK HOLMES). She also was standing about 2 inches away from me and thought it was her job to detain me and cross examine me. So no more shopping there because they always treat you like crap and their prices are never the same at the register as they are on the shelf... and no Angela Lansbury you are not there to accuse innocent people and expose them to Covid. No longer shipping here and my return my $100 plus cart full of items to another Walmart tomorrow. The Reno Walmarts are a million times better managed. read more

It is a small town Walmart. It is a big Walmart too. There is a subway located inside and the parking lot is pretty big for this Walmart. I don't usually go to Walmart anymore but only when it is necessary, then I will go but the staff is friendly and it is easy access like most Walmart's. Like I was saying the parking lot is huge and there is never a day when there is not enough parking. They even have semi's park in the parking lot because it's so big and this area has a lot of truckers stopping here. It almost seems like they made this Walmart with the truckers in mind. That is the first thing I noticed when I pulled into this Walmart was the large number of truckers. I also saw a lots of RVs at this Walmart. Walmart has a wide selection of items and open 24 hours. This make Walmart very convenient but they don't have the best quality of products and produce. You can get a lot of steps walking around this Walmart because it is so big. I had a lot of money to spend and had one simple question about a headset I needed for work and nobody answered the phone calls to confirm they had it. Walmart is addicting. Even though there is Walmart everywhere that are the same for the most part. But I got a secret, they are really not. Some Walmart sale different items like clothing or even different pricing. Yes I said different pricing. On a side note, I went to a Walmart south of Reno to find a holiday gift and the next day went to another Walmart north of Reno to find that same item. With in a $13 difference. Back to this location, when going in the place was fairly kept clean! When walking though the store they had everything I needed. Even items I have been looking for in the Reni locations ( they didn't have). Staff was very nice to me. But not so much with others. So when going to the dressing room I waiting for some one and these two girls come up and ask where an item is located. I'm not sure if the lady knew what the item was, let alone where it was located. So she said ummm, then immediately responded to her wallow talkie. Then she got on the phone. The two people waiting for an answer looked at each other and just walked away. By sitting there waiting and seeing this go on to me it was kind of funny. But then I put my self in there situation and I think I would have gotten upset when asking for an item and getting ignored like that. So that's my reason for a four star instead of five. As for going back, heck yeah, there are a few good Walmart's out there that are well kept up and has everything you need. The atmosphere here was different then other Walmart'sI've been to! This is the worst Walmart store in the area Always out of product Bad customer service I bought cartridges for my printer and the chips read empty after about twenty sheets printed. I researched on the internet about this issue. there is alot of problems with this issue happening. I went to customer service to exchange for another set with my receipt from the previous day. One lady at the customer desk told me she would and when I got back to the counter with the new cartridges the lady was busy so another lady said she would help me and she refused ro exchange them and she brought a manager up which was the worst customer person I have dealt with. They refused to exchange. I was treated with disrespect, I work from home and I bought these with my company credit card. These are bad times, these issues make it even harder. Walmart is Walmart is Walmart... However... Our Walmart is lacking. They recently redesigned the inside to include a small fabric selection and expanded the rest of the craft department. But good luck finding anyone who knows how to measure and cut it. I've left fabric on the cut counter a few times waiting for someone to come. Never go on the first of the month and always try and go early as possible. My last visit was in the 5 hour and I stood in line for a good 10 minutes. That seamed to be the average time for all in line. May not seam like much but add a crabby toddler in there and you have what seams like an hour! Store is kept clean and the bathrooms are tended to regularly. Keep an eye out in the parking lot for stray carts left by truckers and the current drifters that take to the parking lot. read more

I have to give it five stars because where are you going to go? If you want to cash a non payroll check only place. The casinos wont give you the time of day. There isnt a lot of place to fill prescriptions and this is the only place my insurance accepts. Groceries you have two choices Walmart or the expensive Raley's, which isnt as good as other Raley's stores and seems to be like the Scorarli's store in many ways. No way you can effectively feed yourself off liquor store food. New clothes only place. Electronics only place. Hardware is cheaper than Lowe's and about the same service. You could order online and save yourself a trip but with long waits and package pirates it is a crap shoot nowadays. You could go to Fallon or Reno but that is 60 miles round trip just to not deal with the rotten attitudes and poor customer service and if you don't drive like me, I am screwed. read more

If you want to shop where rudeness and indifference is given to the customers for free, this is your type of place. Horribly mismanaged, employees have no pride in their job and it shows big time. They do all their major restocking during the day blocking aisles. Their staff is atrocious if not just indifferent to customers. Ask them a question and you're guaranteed NOT to get a answer. I frequent this Walmart often. It's the only one close enough to me. Their bathrooms are DISGUSTING!!!!! Out of probably 8 stalls, 7 toilets are full of feces and feminine hygiene products. The floors are FILTHY and have hair laying all around the toilets and grime. I live 30 minutes away from this Walmart and often have little choice but to use their bathroom. Also, they are consistently out of stock on multiple items. I go in there sometimes and it's like the apocalypse or something. Bare shelves, dirty floors. The meat department isn't good either. They wrap fresh red/pink hamburger around chunks of old hamburger. You get it home and break the hamburger loaf open to discover brown stinky meat hidden inside and outer layer of fresh meat. This has got to be the worst Walmart that I have ever shopped in. If you want to see a real trash pit, drop by this store. It is mismanaged. The aisles are full of pallets, and yet the shelves are empty? A lot of aisles are impassable. You might as well be talking to the wall, as to ask a question. The doors open at 6:00 am (used to be 24 hrs.) Yet a lot of the departments do not open until 8:00 or 9:00. Go to Reno, Sparks or Fallon and you will see what a well-managed store looks like. Walmart Super Center Fernley Nevada, wow! The food section isn't too bad but there are many times they are out of stock on common items. Their meat is far superior to the meat at Raley's. Now the rest of the store tells the story. Going on line will say they have it but get to the store and it's not there. The shelves are quite often empty of many common items. Asked a manager and he said it was the vendor. So I said he should get the vendor for the Fallon store to stock his store! He wasn't amused. It's true though that the Fallon store is far better stocked than the Fernley store. Check out lines are too long. They are now scanning receipts as you exit claiming it's for theft control. How the hell does scanning your receipt as you exit help theft control? Just another inconvenience added to the long check out lines. read more

Always of stock in the grocery area on the essentials. Constantly filling the main walk ways with pallets of merchandise not allowing you to get the items you need. Recommend finding somewhere else to shop. Fallons store is a million times better. read more

This is the only place I've ever purchased a premade pie off a table, gotten it home, and it's frozen solid. Everywhere else I buy a pie off a bakery table, I get it home and it's ready to eat. This pie is frozen solid. There's no thawing directions. I hate warmed pie. What am I supposed to do with this? There's not anything on this pie and there was nothing on the table to indicate my pie would be frozen. I just want some pie. If I wanted a frozen pie I would have gone to the freezer section. And, not to mention that fact that the employees here never offer help, they are always in the way. They swarm aisles and won't move. Need a can of beans? Not today, buddy, there's 13 associates stocking beans for some reason, talking away, not a care in the world. Why move for the people that want to buyyyyyy the beans, that would be ludicrous. Put frozen pie in the freezers. Get out of the way for people that want to buy stuff. Retail is not that hard. read more

Fernley's Walmart is like every other WM you been to, but this location does have a few things ive seen then others. Best Like ordering online-to-pickup in store with this location is really convenient. For people who are not in the area but could be within the few days. They also get a few exclusives, like Steelbooks from time-to-time. Bad The employees seem like they are not wanting to help, ive had a few just walk by me without even asking if they like to help you, also the ones in electronics department couldn't answer questions in regarding movie info, didnt know how to look it up. Other than that I really think that this location could be a really nice place to shop if you know exactly what your looking for. read more

This Walmart is used by more than the over 20K plus residents of Fernley. That being said, we are forced to shop here for many things. It feels a bit like a hostage situation. I have on occasion gone into Reno to one of many Walmart's in that city. They offer a diverse selection. Our Fernley Walmart does not. I feel that there is the bare minimum being done to order, set up, clean, stock etc. I have know several employees and have learned that my observations are true and why. There is a fundamental problem with the management in the building. So, until it gets a complete overhaul, many of us will be driving to Reno or Fallon. And we might get what we need at something other than a Walmart. Can you say Win Co anyone? read more
