Wal-Mart has had its ups and downs with Me. This Fernley location tho really has some issues and some goods. What could be bad about Wal-Mart you ask, well let me explain. When I last went into this location, I was shopping around an remembered a movie came out, I went and looked and nothing, so I went to the cashier where there were these two older ladies working so I asked "would you happen to know if you have this movie" the lady was rude an said something's really not professional either. I asked if it was still in the back and maybe it was not put out, she's again gets rude and tells me off and goes back to B.Sing with her other coworker, after a few mins of standing there I asked again, this time with my phone out. Excuse me would you be able to go into the back and check if it's in the back again second one gets angry so I dealt with a manager explain what I was looking for and said I was looking for the Bluray of "Professor Marsdan and the Wonder Women" she then has an employee come out an help look for it, oh I think I seen it out I n the back. She goes looking comes back out and she's like "Bluray?" Yeah I replied she does then hand me a copy of "Wonder Woman" I simply said that is not the movie, I then was like "WtF" and I turned and walked out of the store and have yet to be back in since. read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. The most poorly run and managed by far. Cleanliness is poor, friendliness non-existent and every time we shop here, there are tons of people trying to check out and only 1 or 2 lanes open. The managers should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and coached on how to properly run a store. I specifically registered for a Yelp account to write this review. I have never felt the need to write a review before in my life and I will probably never write another one. This Walmart is just that bad. read more

Am I actually reviewing a Walmart?! Am I actually giving it four stars?! DARN TOOTIN' I AM! I'm totally paraphrasing some saying someone said at some point in our human history when I say that no two stores are alike and no two stores bear the Walmart stigma we've all laughed at or scoffed at some point in our lives. This Walmart is actually very very decent with exception of their signature patrons but I won't get into that ball of wax. This particular location does resemble others in the produce dept because it's just sad, not fresh, pales in comparison to other retailers who actually present fresh product without the lip service. Other than that they carry some great products that have much lower price points than their competition. This revelation has sparked my curiosity and I think I'll be trying out my local supercenter to see if they can wow me like the Fernley outlet has. Went online to buy a vacuum cleaner, it said Fernley had one in stock, drive there nope. Drive to Fallon because it said in stock called before I went yep in stock I get there Nope. Drive to Sparks after calling and having a store associate go and physically bring it to customer service before I drive out! Finally. Ridiculous! Can't they be trained in how to read the inventory computer! read more

Shopping in Walmart I usually get everything that I need. Upon checking out however I really don't think any of these Checkers get any type of training whatsoever on how to bag groceries. I brought my own bags, I organized everything accordingly boxes, vegetables bread , toiletries etc. However when the bagging of the groceries began, everything was placed very gently in the bag however one would think that upon seeing how the groceries were placed on the Belt they would grab them accordingly put them in the bags accordingly . I actually had to rearrange things so that they would fit into the bags, the basket and into my car. So upon my review I only give Walmart three Stars all I'm asking is please please please put some effort into how you bag groceries maybe even have a training class on it that's all I ask. read more

Not a big Walmart fan. But i just moved out to Silver Springs and was stocking up on household items and was looking for a small air conditioner. Couldn't find the section so i found and associate (Caleb) who seemed kinda busy but spent 20 minutes with me trying to help me find what I needed. We finally found the section tucked away and he asked me a few questions about my home and where the ac would be located. Explained the difference, pros and cons of each item and didnt just try to upsell me. Amazing service and friendly attitude for someone who's workload i just added 20 minutes to. read more

Waited three minutes at the deli counter, and when I finally got someones attention in the back, he said he would be right there.....and he stayed busy with no one else for the next 4 minutes. When he did come over to serve me, he sure looked unhappy for having to do so. Always seems to be a chore to get service at this deli counter! read more

I purchased a tv online and had it shipped to this location. When I arrived, the pickup location was easy to find and the staff was very friendly. Randy was extremely helpful with getting my tv outside and into my truck. It was a very stress free pickup and I valued how easy they made my pickup. read more

Of all the Walmarts I've shopped at this one is by far the worst. They never seem to have what I want, they are slow to stock the shelves, and the employees are about as helpful as a box of rocks. I've lost track of how many times I've spent 15mins or more standing at the counter in the electronics dept waiting for customer service and watching employees just walk right on past me like I'm a ghost. Does anyone actually work in the electronics dept ? Tonight I went in to get some snacking stuff, not a lot, just a few items that would all fit in one bag which is what I thought the cashier had done, but when I got home I realized that I was Missing 2 items and that the cashier did not spin the bag rack to make sure I had taken everything. So now I have to go back and try to get the 2 items that were left, thanks a lot. This is not the first time it's happened either. read more

It is Walmart... So it is a pretty low starting bar. But 5 years ago I had an extra horrible experience on Black Friday and have not stepped foot in there since. We used to average between $800-$1000/mo in grocery and other products. Switched all my food business to scolaris and have never ever regretted it. Produce and meat are awful at this Walmart. There were no less than 3 occasions where we bought chicken that was spoiled when we got home and was obviously not being stored at proper temperatures. read more

I hate this store. I was just trying to go to the restroom and slipped on literal feces. Disgusting. I then cleaned up and went to a cashier and they were very disrespectful. I have been to many WalMarts across America and believe for the most part that WalMart is a good store, but its sad to say that our neighborhood WalMart in Fernley, NV is the worst! Products are out of stock or shelves are stocked with only one or two items, employees ignore you or lack customer service and the simple "thank you or you're welcome" response or knowledge of items and some act like they don't see you when you're right in front of them. You're always looking for someone to help you in most departments and when you do find someone, they tell you that they'll "go look for someone who knows" and then never come back. They give the handful of good employees a bad name not to mention are a poor representative of the company. Latest incident is with the Sporting Goods department. The ATF system has been down for quite sometime. They tell you that they cannot call and notify you when the system is up and cannot hold any gun/rifle/ fire arm and they do not know when it will be up. Ok, I understand they have rules and policies. However, after checking almost everyday for ATF to be up so I can purchase an early Christmas gift for my husband - which it still isn't! - I noticed the SIG M400 233 I was interested gone from the showcase. I inquired about it and was told it was in the back because someone else was interested in it. I asked about their policy of NOT holding and was given a blank stare. I'd rather go to The WalMart in Reno or Fallon, NV then this pathetic store. read more

This location is usually extra packed and they never have enough registers Open... Last time I went they had 3 registers and 3 self checkouts for abut 30 people and they had no nags at the registers... The lady that helped me was very rude! What can I say, it's a Walmart? The people working there seem beat down, they never have enough cashiers, every time I find something I like they decide not to continue it, and the people who shop there are a freak show (that's a plus, LOL). Not much else for a choice in Ferntucky, so I continue to shop there regardless. Much rather shop at WinCo (in Reno), the people who work there seem happy, they have great produce, and have excellent prices! read more

This Walmart is horrible. The aisle are frequently blocked by pallets of product waiting to be stocked. This occurs even during the afternoon and evenings when it is extremely busy. Not just later in the evening and at night when things are slower. I have stood in the 20 items or fewer line for 40 minutes, because the three other checkstands had 10-15 people each waiting to check out. The "express" line was just as long but at least there were fewer items for each person. Their security system would go off when "entered" the store and then again when I left. This went on for months. I guess there was something in my purse. I had it "deactivated" when I bought it. I actually had an employee grab my arm when I left the store once and accuse me of shoplifting a stereo that I had the receipt in my hand for. This is a nice big walmart. Everything in town is close and nearby each other. This location is very clean. All departments are fully stocked. Employees are friendly. Large huge parking area. Conveniently across the hotel I stay in when I am here in town, It is easy for me to pick up my drinks and snacks. I will definitely keep coming backs here to shop when I am in town ... read more

This store is the worst Walmart that I have been to in 20 years! This place needs to replace it's management. Deli-rude- canned isles are a mess- shoe dept has kids openly stealing items! Get cameras in that section . Dirty shoes in new boxes. Electronics- don't ask for help in this area, you'll find people that don't know what a USB cord is. read more

For a Walmart, this is the best one I have seen. It is always clean and well stocked. The current manager re-organized the store which gave us a lot more choices. There was a fabric section added and the office/ School supplies have more variety. Fernley is a tough city to do business in, but this Walmart pulls it off. read more

I don't go to Walmart unless I have to. The employees for the most part are grumpy and could care less about you or anyone else. Getting help at the bakery or deli is an act of God. I have not purchased any fruit, vegetables or meat from them in a very very long time. The produce is terrible. read more

My mother and father have been very sick for the last two months so I have come out to fernley to help them with shopping. Both the pharmacy and service as a whole suffer from the lack of an education and customer service skills. When I went to the pharmacy to pick up my moms prescription they forgot one. We had to go back and were forced to wait another 45 minutes. I don't know how hard it is to take a phone call and write something down, especially if that's your job. I originally was not going to complete this review but since them I have had three more difficulties with the store. I called for my own prescription and a person named Chris said they had it in stock and it would be ready in about 30 minutes. I came in and it turned out that they had stock incoming and not current stock. This is the third time this had happened at this pharmacy and I am starting to question the hiring process that goes into Walmart. Today when I finished my grocery shopping a clerk rang each of my items up twice and I had to wait for another 15 minutes while he figured out how to correct the problem. I'm sorry and I usually wouldn't care about one incident, however this is unacceptable. I hope current workers a reviewed and are replaced l by management to provide a better quality atmosphere. read more

It was full of people, to many with kids playing all over the place. Saw two Hispanic boys take the handicap electric cars an play tag , going all over the place no one stopped them but I did. One boy refused to give the car up but when I made like I was calling Security he rushed out the front of the store. No parents anywhere nor were any employees, there were some who saw the interaction between me an the kids but did nothing in fact they turned around an walked away. So much for the Security cameras. The store was dirty, a lot of clothing on the floor with foot prints on them. Food wrappers, wet spots an the restroom was filthy, par for most Wal Mart stores. read more

I'll be honest I'm not really a fan of Walmart, however since moving to fernley this is a very close option for shopping. This particular store seems to never be well stocked. I go in several times a week and the shelves are basically bare. I went in a few weeks ago and asked a worker if they had an item and the guy said I'm not sure and that was it. He did not call and ask anyone or attempt to help me in anyway. Working in customer service myself I was surprised at the lack of help this gentleman offered. I am currently in Fernley to visit with family and I bought some ingredients to make dinner. I was never able to make dinner so I went in today to return the ingredients. The lady working customer service was not necessarily mean, but also not nice. Common customer service greetings are not used at this Wal-Mart. She informed me that with out a receipt she would not accept food items for return. I asked for store credit and she said that is against policy as well. I spoke to a manager and she was again, not mean but also not nice, and she said the same thing. I'm very disappointed that they aren't willing to budge on there policy for a return that is less than 5 dollars. read more

as most ppl have said in their reviews "it's Walmart" so why should we expect better? i say because they want our business and should give us better. there are a lot of really great clerks. the grave shift workers are the best and are always helpful. but the management needs to add more grave cashiers the day before and for 3 days AFTER the first of the month. many ppl will shop after midnight to avoid the food stamp shoppers like myself. so the lines get super long after midnight and they usually only have 2 cashiers at any given time. sometimes only one if somebody has to go to lunch and only a few of the managers will come and do registers to make up for it. most of the night managers are really cool. but they also need to start putting ALL the disabled carts by the open front doors and not leave them over by the closed doors by customer service after hours. there are often very few carts after hours and you have to walk all the way past the customer service area on the other side of the store to get a disabled cart. i have asked this of the managers dozens of times and have complained to corporate, which is like talking to air. nothing is ever done. it would be nice also if they kept the self serve machines open 24/7. then they would only have to hire one extra clerk for that and the lines for the 2 grave cashiers wouldn't be so long. i will say this, the machines work really well considering. they usually do not mess up as much as other chain stores machines and can be worked on pretty fast. i usually do NOT shop during regular business hours if i can help it. they usually are backed up, unhelpful and sometimes down right rude. this store is often NOT stocked fully. if you need somethings that other stores in Reno, Fallon or Sparks carry automatically, you have to order it sight to store and that can take up to two weeks, even tho they have trucks delivering goods daily. the boys section is very devoid of sizes, same with the shoes. we usually end up going to Walmart in Reno or Sparks to find what we need as they rarely have anything in my grandsons size here at any given time. their produce and meat are adequate. but i usually shop at Scolari's, Winco, Costco or Sam's Club for better quality at cheaper prices. i have been shopping at this Walmart for the whole 5yrs i have lived here and had to make many complaints. few have gotten anywhere. this certainly isn't a corporate run store. it's way to low brow. i have been called names by rude cashiers and even called out by one or two. i reported it to managers. the managers apologized, but nothing was done with the actual worker. i also do not appreciate that they will drag somebody with a whole cart load out of line and put them in a 20 items or less register just to keep the lines down. then when somebody comes with 20 items or less, they have to wait. i will NOT let them make me use a 20 items register, you can say no. i also do not like how if somebody needs their break, lunch or to go home, they will not let them if there are long lines. they have to stay open no matter what. it's wrong. they also aren't as cheap as they profess. many prices have doubled or tripled in the last 3yrs, but they still try to say they are the cheapest. not by a long shot anymore. read more
